AAA Encinitas Insurance and Member Services

Negative experience: I arrived at 3:35 PM and waited over an hour to be attended and it wasn't possible because they close at 5:00 PM. The person at the counter kept telling me it would take 15 more minutes and more, people came in without an appointment and they walked right through. I honestly feel discriminated against. This place has terrible customer service!!

Negative experience: I hate the new management. Before we actually received DMV Services, and answers to DMV questions such as renewals and late fee waivers. This office is being run by an unhelpful manager who will not give options to help you. Triple A is really going Down Hill and that includes their Roadside Assistance and phone operators. I’ve been a member for over 15 years and have decided to downgrade to the lowest membership level due to their incompetence and lack of integrity and competence to honestly help members.

Fantastic experience: I’ve never had such a fantastic experience as when I was helped by Angel of the Encinitas AAA… After quite the scavenger hunt getting the classic car my mom gifted me verified… It was only fitting to discover that the AAA professional helping us cross the registration “finish line” was named Angel… She was quick, knew her stuff and clearly was one of their shining stars. The entire AAA team was amazing to work with, and we appreciate their exceptional service. Special shout out to our angel, Angel!

Negative experience: What’s up with the parking lot no painted lines people parking all over the place

Positive experience: AAA has been Extremely necessary part of our family, and conveniently located. Beware of DMV services, They need attention to your Customer Services. They Are Not Helpful, I found the short stubby teller very rude and short in her response's. It felt as if I was forcefully extracting information from teller instead of offering me help and information on simple title change. Thankfully i overheard another teller providing help to her customer about the same issue i had come in for; and got the proper forms. Again please train your reps. Especially The short stubby teller she was extremely unhelpful and rude.

Fantastic experience: These guys do everything from tags to towing. The Encinitas office is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. What more can you ask for. I highly recommend their office.

Negative experience: BEWARE DMV services - I turned in a custom license plate for a standard one. One month later I get a citation notice for a parking ticket against the Plate number issued After I turned it in. Went to AAA for help twice - none (very indignant) and would not let me talk to a supervisor or manager. I suspect this is not a first occurrence. - BUYER BEWARE - while I have to contest this : (

Negative experience: If you want the office to answer your call, this is a service you should not expect. I have been trying to get someone to answer the phone during a time when they are discouraging people to come in to the office. You go with AAA for better service. This office is not it!!!

Positive experience: I went to American Automobile Association (AAA) to get my International Drivers Permit. The process was fairly smooth and somewhat quick. The staff was friendly. They were able to take the passport sized photos as well which was very convenient, although they charge non-members $15 plus tax.

Negative experience: Unfortunately when I went in to pay a registration fee on a vehicle, their DMV associated told me "I don't know what to do"....so therefore I will do NOTHING! What a joke. ZERO attempt to help! Sad to pay fees to AAA for services that are NOT provided! If AAA / DMV is unable to help, that's fine, but at least MAKE AN ATTEMPT TO HELP!

Negative experience: Tried to call to just ask a simple question. After going through a series of voice messages a recording said they don’t have anyone to answer the phone but “Thanks for calling”. Nice service. NOT.

I am always amazed by the services offered... last wk was another one of those occasions that requires a "shout-out" to three individuals who went above and beyond to assist me in obtaining title on my 30' Model A.... Lynn Mendoza and I have a history together.. Lynn has helped me in the past with obtaining a title on my 68' ironhead.. my 2010 CVO... my 69' polara and now my 30' Model A and of course.. each one came with baggage but not for the experience and diligence of Lynn... doubtful that any of these vehicles would be on the road... she is a most amazing asset to the entire team at AAA.... thank you Lynn.. total blessing working with you and so you know.. I will be shortly with my 51' Lincoln.... Elizabeth Cohen.... Elizabeth working with Lynn... totally took the lead on assisting me with my 30' Model A ... this is the first time I have had occasion to work with Elizabeth and I have to say... total pleasure..... her sense of humor and willingness to go beyond the limits of an 8-5 job to assist me in the quest of obtaining title was truly a most enjoyable process... again... total blessing working with you as well... looking forward to seeing you in the nearer future .... Negative experience: Be warned they charged me a $54 cancellation fee when I switched to a competitor. I've never heard of a fee to cancel insurance services before.

Positive experience: Everything was fast and went well. No big line when I went. Everyone had masks and special stickers to stand on the floor. Sigh... Everyone was nice, but didn't blow my mind.

Fantastic experience: They have a really good setup to keep everyone spread apart. Luckily it wasn't busy when I was there so it was easy to transfer a car title and have a document notarized. Most people respected everyones space except the guy there to shread documents.

Fantastic experience: I've had insurance with AAA for almost 7 years now and roadside assistance for even longer. My agent is the best out there! And AAA has always taken care of me with any accidents, paid well over the car's value when it was totaled. I went today with my good friend to see if they would let him pay his registration through my membership. The lady was so wonderful and took care of it with no questions. She was funny, sweet and just a refreshing personality! I'm a fan!!

Negative experience: Shifty and untrustworthy. member for life and on family insurance. AAA cancels my insurance and didn't even bother to reach out to me. Do not buy into the auto scam-club of America. Unfortunately there is not a zero stars option.

Negative experience: I went to AAA Auto Club Encinitas to transfer a car title to a new owner. The new owner agreed several times to transfer title and pay DMV fees. I wanted the sale to be complete as some family members have had ticket/court problems with people never tranfering title and the application remaining in their name. The person came without the money to pay fee after agreeing. I said no i wouldn't make the transfer, the person from AAA helping us sided with the person buying the vehicle. She said your signing it off, i said the vehicle won't actually be transfered until its registers with DMV, she said that was correct....my point made. I'm giving AAA a 2 star rating. I was the member yet KNOWING MY CHOICE, she sided with the person buying the vehicle, making it more difficult for me to defend my decision. The person buying the vehicle eventually came up with the money and the vehicle was transferred completely at AAA Auto Club Oceanside an hour later.

Fantastic experience: Upgrades our membership to Gold and also got an auto quote. Our Agent Chris Tung was awesome! Very little wait. The office seems very organized and everyone was very pleasant.

Fantastic experience: They have so much info on travel, whether by cruise, a desire for a land tour, hotels discounted and travel books of all types. You must be a member of AAA to get these venefits. I was able to get a DMV booklet to study for a written test renewal.
