Fantastic experience: Emily helped with our trip in 2022 for our wedding, she was very helpful and fast responding to all my emails and questions. Glad we found Emily as we are now about to plan a trip for our family of 3☺️ I used a previous travel agent in 2020 and the communication was horrible, but I am glad we found Emily for all our travel needs.

Negative experience: Paid $250 deposit for a trip I couldn't make it to in 2024. I did notify them in advanced. Initially they said I could use the deposit for another trip. Fast forward 2025 I was told "Hi there, No, since it cancelled out it was a penalty from the cruise line, so we cannot put it towards another trip. ~Keri ". A bit strange because they said I could back in 2024. I didn't want the money back. It could of been nice to use towards a different cruise package. My first time dealing with a Travel Agency and I'm a bit disappointed because communication and information is minimal from the agency. After this experience I had with this company I plan of doing it myself.

The food was plentiful and absolutely delicious. The resort was beautiful. Everything that one might need was right there on site. The location of the resort was perfect. The beach was beautiful and pools provided an opportunity to just relax. I highly recommend this package and look forward to returning soon.

Fantastic experience: We have used Going Places since 2003 when my husband and I got married. We booked our honeymoon through them. My husband also used Going Places for our 15th wedding anniversary, where he surprised me with a trip to Bora Bora!!! That trip was complete with an itinerary, the 3 flights and boat ride information and logistics was taken care of and no mishaps occurred. Everything was seamless. We recently (11/4-11/8) used them again for my husband’s 50th birthday trip to an all-inclusive resort to Cancun. We had almost 30 people in our travel party. Keri was super helpful and responsive. She took care of reaching out to the resort for me, making sure transportation was scheduled to and from airport for everyone in the group and kept in consistent contact with me and the other folks in our group. She was definitely helpful in making sure arrivals and departures were secured for a smooth transition. I highly recommend using this travel agency and working with Keri Luise! Thank you Keri for being so attentive, for answering all of my questions and for making this trip possible.

Positive experience: Going Places Inc made it easier to book the flights and the resort. It was easier getting to the destination compared to returning home which included our luggage being lost for over an hour and all flights being late. There was a light issue with the room that was book, however it got worked out quickly. There were some good and bad experiences. However overall it was a good trip and I was able to make some cherished memories.

Fantastic experience: Miss Emily and Keri were so awesome to work with! Our trip was planned out in January.. not sure where to go.. with great recommendations from Miss Emily we nailed down our trip.. Iberostar Paraiso Beach in Riviera Maya, Mexico. We were traveling with a 2 year old and 4 adults. Miss Emily arranged our travel, transport and resort info and assisted with any discounts to keep our expenses down too! We arrived with some issues, but reached out to Miss Emily and Keri.. they contacted the resort and was able to assist us.. the rest of our week was most enjoyed! Our granddaughter’s first airplane ride and leaving the country trip! Celebrating our son’s (who never gets a summer vacation) birthday and enjoying our time with the whole family! Fantastic experience: Going Places, Inc. did a fantastic job of arranging our travel to the beautiful island of Aruba. Aruba is a small island; however, it was the most beautiful place to vacation and very safe. The Riu hotel was the best choice for us! The spacious room, crystal clear pool and beach, a very good variety of restaurants, excellent customer service and delicious breakfasts were outstanding. Plan to go back again in the future. Well worth the money!!!!

They planned everything for us and was very understanding to our changes in the original itinerary. To my Wifes dismay (lol) I thought maybe we could plan this trip ourselves but in hindsight I'm so glad that I listened to her. There were clearly a few things I would have missed but Going Places knew all the ins and outs and gave us invaluable insight and recommendations to enhance our trip without any added expenses. Fantastic experience: If you are interested in booking a vacation especially to Sandals Royal Caribbean, I would highly recommend seeing Effie at Going Places in Glen Burnie MD. My girlfriend and I just returned yesterday and we had an amazing trip. We are also planning a trip to Italy in September with Effie as well. She really “ knows her stuff”.

I coiuld have not asked for a better vacation. I was hesitant to go to Jamaica, but, Emily ressured me that the resorts were safe and there would be no conserns. Heck downtown Baltimore is more dangerous on a weekday night than any resort. I've booked several vacations through Emily and Going Places and will use them again for future travels.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I have been using Going Places travel agency for approximately 19 years. The staff is always so patient and helpful. We’ve been going there so long, I tend to stay in there a little longer speaking to Emily about everything under the sun after making arrangements for our next vacation. My husband and I even trusted Emily with letting her book us one of those blind vacations where you don’t know where you’re going until it’s close to the time of the trip. The hotel was an amazing 5 star golden apple vacation resort in Mexico. My husband and I had an amazing time. This year Keri arranged an amazing trip for my son w/ cerebral palsy 32nd bday at Dreams Maceo all inclusive in the Dominican Republic. They even had beach bikes for people who are not ambulatory or need wheelchair assistance. It was an amazing resort that we may go back to next year. Thanks Keri

Fantastic experience: After ever so many years I contacted Going Places and Effie was still there. What a relief to hear her voice. My situation was quite unique to me but everyday to her. She sprung into action while I was on the telephone and made my dream trip a reality. She, as usual, handled everything down to the minutest of details and I was sooo relieved. Positive experience: I just came back from Aruba celebrating my honeymoon and husbands birthday . We stayed at the Riu Antilles. Definitely not a 5 star . I booked with Effie . I used going places several times but the one at East point . I was informed that we would get a honeymoon packaged but we didn’t get anything . We supposed to have had a partial ocean view room in which we were looking at a construction site . I would use this travel agency again but won’t go back and stay at riu in Aruba .

Positive experience: My first time using a Travel Agency and I was not impressed at all. The agent Emily has poor communication skills and failed to follow up on important details. I would like to think that it was that individual only, because the company appears to have great reviews online. I have another trip scheduled in the upcoming weeks with a different agent with Going Places so fingers crossed .

Fantastic experience: We used Going Places, Inc to book a group trip to Cancun, Mexico in 2021. We decided to use them again for a trip to Costa Rica is Jan 2023. Emily and the Going Places, Inc team took care of everything — from flights to the hotel to transportation to/from the airport. They were VERY responsive and ensured we had all the information we needed before departing for the trips. Also, we LOVED the resorts they chose and had a great time during both of our stays. Fantastic experience: We have been working with Torey on many trips, family and adult. Very knowledgeable about the destinations we inquire about to book and has helped us make sure our choices for each destination on exactly what we’re looking for… food, nightlife, kid friendly activities etc.

Negative experience: The worst EVER…… scammer…. I had a family trip planned for Costa Rica for $15,000 and had to postpone because of Covid…. When we could finally go , this woman who apparently owns this agency told us that we could only use half of it… she wouldn’t even answer my texts or calls. . Then put us into a place that was no where near what we paid for. This woman Emily is a SCAMMER…. Just look at the better business bureau …. And now she’s actually STILL TRYING TO SCAM us!!!! AND EVEN now, since she saw this review, she trying to validate herself. I have every single receipt from the airlines, the hotel and transports….this trip we took on our credit of $15,000 only cost $4600. And she’s telling us that it cost $11,000. I talked to Goaway travel who she booked us through and they BUSTED her. She is nothing more than a scammer!!!! Please look at the Better Business review of this company….We are not letting her get away with this!

Fantastic experience: Love to work with experienced people that know the travel business. Have used them for years and never had a bad trip. They worked very hard during the shut down to rebook your trip.

Negative experience: This is a doozie, in summary they are a waste of time and theft of money. The biggest issue is I'm still waiting 2 months now for a refund of over $1,000 for an error on their part. In December we booked a trip to Sandals Jamaica for 6 of our family members. 3 of us wanted to take the Open Water dive class, and had Going Places Inc add it to our reservation. We never realized until at the dive shop that they booked us for Advanced open water. So we had to pay AGAIN for the Open Water Dive. "7-10 business day's" was the quote of my refund. Again..... this was December and as of February 7th I am still missing my money. Moving on from the loss of $1,000 they had little to no planning or communication. No encouragement or recommendation to get Global Entry or TSA Pre-check. You would think travel experts would know about Club Mombay for Jamaica. Nope, just go and suffer through customs. Why bother paying for a Travel Agent to take care of everything, if everything has to be a hassle to get worked out. Southwest dropped the ball on our flights like most of the country. We couldn't even talk directly to Southwest to fix the issue because Taking Places had to. That was fixed, but not timely. So again, why pay for Going Places when I have to do everything anyway. Such a rip off, and literal theft of my $1,000. I will never be back and will actively turn people away from using them. Sincerely, a very dissatisfied customer.

Fantastic experience: I have been using Going Place for over 20 years. Effie never lets me down. This year I went to Jamaica and had the best time ever. From the time I leave my house to my return, every little detail is taken care of. RIU Montego Bay was beautiful. They even offered free alcohol and water sports (kayaking, sailing, etc). The ATV and horse back riding in the ocean excursions were wonderful. I've never had so much fun getting dirty. The ATV ride does not disappoint. Already booking my vacation to Dubai for next year.

Negative experience: Giving it a 2 star … wasn’t able to take my trip as scheduled due to loss of my mom recently and in between jobs … as soon as I canceled I saw a real side of Emily … people like me … support our own.., she didn’t have to treat me the way she did … so unprofessional .. smh

Fantastic experience: Emily, the travel agent, was great. She made all of the arrangements for my wife and I's trip to Alaska on 5/31/2022. She booked the airplane flights, the transfers to and from the airports and the land transportation including the train and motor coach. During the trip, we made some changes in our itinerary and she made the changes in hotel and air lines directly from her office. The cruise was the south passage from Alaska to Vancouver, Canada and it was awesome.

Fantastic experience: I have found Going Place, Inc. an excellent travel agency to book your trip. Due to the pandemic, it took 2 years before we could finally go on our cruise. Going Places, namely Emily Hicks, held our hands through the entire process. She and the staff returned phone calls in a timely manner and helped to resolve all issues that arose. I will certainly be using them in the future.

Negative experience: We booked as a group to go to my son's wedding in Cancun, Mexico. The booking was for RIU, and I made the deposit for a room with a swim up pool. After my other son's friend cancelled on him, I asked Emily to add my son to the swim up room. She quoted me the price to add him to my room, and we paid the balance. Fast forward to May 27th when we arrived at the hotel, we were not given a swim up room. I immediately went to the front desk and was told to call my travel agent because they had not reserved a swim up room for us. I was unable to call the agency due to no service, so the hotel placed the call for me. I called 3 times in a row and was disconnected every time. The following morning Emily sent me an invoice stating that I had never booked a swim up room but that if I wanted one I could ask the hotel to upgrade and pay the difference. I sent her the screenshot confirming my original booking for the swim up room, and she didn't respond. I booked a swim up room because I wanted to be close to my son and his bride. Instead we were the only people in the group that was in our building and we were the furthest from all pools, restaurants, and bars. The resort was lovely, but this error and the follow up from the travel agency was disappointing.

Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic time at Majestic Mirage in Punta Cana. The resort was beautiful, well maintained, and the staff was very attentive and friendly. The room which included a separate tub, and balcony jacuzzi, was welcoming and relaxing. Our "butler and housekeeper were efficient, and helped to decorate the room for my birthday surprise. Negative experience: The first cruise we booked with Tammy in 2019 we did the East Coast up to Canada. It was our fist cruise so we had a lot of questions and Tammy was awesome and even if she wasn’t sure she would get back to us within a few days..We were so impressed when we got back from our cruise we booked another and put a $500. deposit down, but Covid hit and everything shut down..So fast forward to present and as we were trying to rebook our cruse Tammy is gone and we now have Emily as our travel agent we wanted to extend our cruise out just a year because we were a little unsure of safely cruising. When I tried to move out our cruise another year I was informed it would be a $100. Penalty per person and the remainder would be a credit that we had to use in 9 months. When I reached out to Emily to let her know that I was not okay with that she would not return my calls… Therefore I contacted Royal Caribbean myself and in 20 minutes and one phone call I solved my own problem I was given my full $500 cruise credit and a full year to use it!! So my point is that who was getting the $200. We were being penalized? And why were we given only 9 months to rebook? Biggest question of all is how come our travel agent didn’t represent us property and how come I felt like she just didn’t want to be bothered? What a shame Emily you lost some good customers and I work in customer service all day so I will be sure to spread the word.

We traveled to St Lucia for 6 days, and it was amazing. Emily also was able to upgrade my room at no charge. I am prior military, so she also saved me a few hundred dollars for our services. Her staff saved me money that I could not have done on my own, try to do it online. I Can't thank Emily and her staff enough. Fantastic experience: Going Places Travel Agency makes your dreams come true. In 2019 they booked our 50th Wedding Anniversary trip on a 12 day Canadian Rocky Mountaineer Train vacation which went without hitch. We thought it was the best vacation ever! We have just returned from a 21 day vacation that included a Viking Grand European River Cruise with a two day pre-excursion in Budapest. The cruise itinerary was Budapest to Amsterdam. Going Places booked our Viking River Cruise in 2020. Emily and staff held our hand through the Covid shutdown that included one cancelation and the rebooking of the cruise. 18 months later we finally boarded a plane. It included planes, trains, buses, big boats, little boats,and automobiles.They made it easy and anxiety free. Going Places did all the hard work, and we traveled worry free. Thank you Going Places Staff for assisting in two wonderful vacations of a lifetime. Now our hardest decision is where to go next. I am sure that Emily and staff will help us make that decision.

I come up with destination and dates and they cover the details. The price you find online is the price you pay give/take a few bucks. They do not mark up customer costs. Fantastic experience: I dealt with Emily Hicks when my wife and I planned an Anniversary Trip to the Cayman Islands. The care she took to ensure our trip was memorable was astounding. Her recommendations turned out to be perfect for us! We had never traveled outside of the US and she guided us through all of the steps with patience and we felt she really cared about our experience. I cannot say enough good things about how Emily and her work that gave us a trip of a lifetime. Only disappointed that I can only give 5 Stars.

Positive experience: This was my first time using a travel agency and one of the families going on the trip had used Emily before and recommended we use her. Everything sounded great when we were walking out of there till we got to Hawaii and realized she either lied or had no idea what she was talking about. She told us that we would each receive a $30 meal credit at the resort which is only one meal in Hawaii but still. Turns out it’s per room not person and one of our rooms didn’t even count. Not the worst thing in the world but just thought I’d share. The resort is beautiful and Hawaii is amazing just make sure you confirm everything with the hotel not just them.
