Negative experience: Scheduled an alignment for my Dooley truck got there. They got it on the rack. Told me I needed to replace the ball joints took it replace the ball joints then scheduled another appointment for 1 o’clock a week later got there 15 minutes early was told to come back in an hour and a half so I did and when I came back, they got it on the rack then told me they couldn’t do it that my truck was too big. Complete waste of time.

Negative experience: I’m not one to leave reviews, but felt compelled to do so to keep another individual from getting scammed, especially if they don’t know better or don’t go get a 2nd opinion. Took my truck to get diagnostic testing for shaking in my Silverado. They quoted me roughly 4,500 with a laundry list such as ball joints, suspension, control arms, tires, alignment, etc. I took that quote and diagnostic to a private mechanic. He took a look and said he could not find a single thing wrong with ball joints, suspension, etc. He found the problem - once on the lift, the rear back tire was going around like an egg causing my shaking when driving. The solution is new tires and alignment. He was shocked at the price quoted. He did not even charge me and said he gets lots of business from this specific location and quotes/diagnostic never match. Always get a 2nd opinion!!!!

Positive experience: After going to Bob Sumeral for years between Florence location and now Walton location, this was a bad experience. List of items fixed were, both front CV Axle shafts, rear brake pads, rear rotors and rear passenger side caliper. The cost or speed was not the issue, the repairs were done on a Friday and pretty fast. There was issue with the brake line that rubbed against the tire and wore a hole in it that occurred Sunday while driving to the grocery store. So had to take the car back on Monday and take off work but issue was fixed.

Fantastic experience: Grateful to find this tire shop, our tire pressure was low and went to Discount Tire but they told us to come back tomorrow. After finding Kroger had an air compressor we noticed AAA tire as we found a screw in the tire. AAA staff was friendly and got us in right away and repaired the tire on the spot. We will definitely be back when it’s time to get new tires. Thanks AAA!

Negative experience: If I could rate them in the negative, I would. What started off as an okay experience turned into a total nightmare. Brought my car in for an oil leak and check engine light. The main tech was on vacation, so I had to return. They found a faulty fuel pressure sensor, a dealer part, and fixed it. All seemed okay until a few days later when the fuel line disconnected while sitting in my driveway. Got it towed back, and they said the part was faulty and would fix it for free. Less than 24 hours after picking it up, it happened again while I was driving. Towed it back, and this time, they said they didn't know why it was failing and needed to take it to a Chrysler dealership. James said if their shop did anything wrong, they'd reimburse me for the repairs. After days at the dealership, James finally contacted me. He downplayed their mistakes, but the info didn't match what the dealership said to me directly. Lots of confusion between the two. James while masked in fake sincerity and niceness was down right rude, refusing to take responsibility for the fact that his team didn't install the part correctly twice. This whole thing has left me with the impression that Bob Sumerel's team in Walton is more about making money than taking responsibility for their mistakes. I was without my car for almost a month. The repairs and customer service are unacceptable. I wouldn't recommend letting them touch any vehicle.

Fantastic experience: The service I received here can not be put into simple words. I was in a very unique time crunched situation, and I was at another tire place. They told me 2 to 3 hour wait to be seen. I could see from the other customers' faces inside that they themselves were getting upset. When I looked in their bays, all the employees were just leaning against tool boxes, not a car one in the air. I didn't know what to do, I was almost out of time, and the whole thing was about to be ruined. That's when I heard it, I turned to see a commercial of AAA Bob Sumerel Tire & Services on the television in the waiting room. I left immediately and headed there. Upon my arrival, I explained my unique situation to them. The employees got a good chuckle from it ( I admit, it was quite hysterical). They quickly took the vehicle I was driving and quickly changed, mounted, and balanced all four tires and had me back on the road quickly. I made it back with plenty of time to spare. So if I have to describe the service I received from them, I would have to say that it was magnificent, to say the least. Thank you again, employees at AAA Bob Sumerel. You all are the best.

Negative experience: I give James a one star, he sold me tires I really didn't ask for I 33x10.5xR15 with new rims, when I got the tires installed I noticed that they were the same size he just took off my vehicle? The problem still existed that is th tire and rim were rubbing when you made a left turn. So last week I checked to if got the spacers in , he never returned my call, so I went out and spend $189.00 for some wheel spacers. So I called him on Monday 10/30/23 he told me to come in around 8 the next day and he would take care of me. On Tuesday the 31st I show up he isn't there, it's his day off and never told me he was off. Know new I was coming in but Jeff gladly help me out as this is the second time that James has done this to me before. He said he would call me when my rims and tires came in he didn't I came and asked Jeff if they were in and in deed they were so he got them installed for me. I will no longer deal with James from this day forward. I have three vehicles which I was going to start having them worked on at this location. James has ;et me some many times and Jeff has bailed him out once again. I'm a retire Marine and I don't like liars. He doesn't show me a man that his words are no good!

Fantastic experience: AAA discount on labor is just a bonus. Wonderful as always, the customer service is consistent within different locations, very refreshing. They are always informative, knowledgeable & don't mind questions. We usually use Ft. Wright Bob Sumerel because it's near our house, but this one is close to my brother's work, so he dropped it there for rear brake job. His car didn't start when he picked it up, but they were right there to help immediately & got him on his way! We will continue to use their services here & everywhere.

Negative experience: WARNING!! I am a AAA member and took my 2009 Ravy4 to this place a few months ago, for a simple water pump and thermostat replacement, the old man working their said he could have in done over the weekend, he even guaranteed, this was important because need my car to work thru the week,long story short, I drop my car off friday and didn't get my car back till Tuesday!! I pay $1600 and bring my car home to find a coolant smell from the hood, I pop the hood to find spilled coolant ontop of my motor and reservoir, no biggie, I clean it up, and shut the hood, 2 months later before I go on a summer vaction in July, 2023, I changed the oil,only to find my entire plastic splashguard under my car, gone, missing!! That thing is easy $50 or more dollars for a used one online!!, then I look and see my upper radiator hose is back from the housing an entire 1 1/2 inches!! And loose! This could have been a disaster! I would have burnt my engine up on the highway, and it would have been my word against Bob sumerel ! I was really upset, I still am!! Then days later I take my passenger front wheel off to check mybrakes (the same side as the water pump replacement from Bob sumerel and thier (only mechanic) had tightened my lug nuts to 125lbs!! It took a 1/2 inch breaker bar and a tube to get them off, witch also warped my rotor due to excessive overtorking of the lugnuts, I have seen this before from shops when the mechanics use big air tools on them and don't know what they are doing! I don't even believe he is an A.S.E mechanic!! How does the Walton Kentucky Bob sumerel even stay in business? So I had to buy another rotor also, they are $100 for my all wheel drive RaV4!! So I paid $1600 for very questionable work, was lied too, and had to pay additional $150 plus more labor on my part!l I am not happy and I am telling everyone I know in Walton Kentucky, my home town for 45 years!!

Fantastic experience: This location has been my go-to shop for anything vehicle-related since moving to Walton a year ago. I have been in with multiple vehicles to have a variety of services performed including routine maintenance, minor repairs, and having wheels and tires mounted. We have visited four or five times in the last year and every trip is consistently excellent. Every team member I have worked with has been knowledgeable, forthcoming, professional, approachable, and genuinely interested in providing high-quality work with top-tier customer service backing it up. I think the pricing is very fair and if anything, this shop is the antithesis of the "shady mechanic" trope with being so upfront about everything related to the vehicle needs. If she lived locally, I would have zero reservations about sending my mother-in-law here to have work done on her car.

Negative experience: Honestly, they were great in the beginning. We replaced the bearing, and we did not do it correctly and it messed up, and we broke the ABS sensors clip. We had it towed to AAA, and they took a look at it. They said the bearing and ABS sensor needed replaced and it should take a few days. After a week with no car and paying for rides to and from work we had to call, and this is where things started to go bad. We called once a day till it was fixed. We got it back and before we even drove off the lot the ABS was still messed up. The car has a safety feature, and it shuts off the speedometer and 4 wheel drive. We parked it and turned the keys back in. I took a few more days and we did call every day for an update before they closed. They finally got it fixed but we drove it for one day and the ABS sensor messed up again. We took it back and they said the sensor was loose and they took tape and "fixed" it. We drove it a couple more days and it messed up again! We just wanted them to make it right and fox it since that is what we paid for. They finally had a different tech look at it and the whole ABS control module was broke. We did have other issues fixed but on top of paying $1200 to get the car fixed, not having a car for a whole month which costed and extra $1000 out of pocket for rides they would not touch it anymore. They would not tow it to Ford dealership because the car was not safe to drive. We did not have another $1000 to dish out to fix the issues. We had to turn around a buy another vehicle that we did not want to do or really afford at the time. We are still trying to financially recover from this. I wish they had the correct diagnoses in the beginning, we would have skipped this whole mess. We have tried to reach out to customer support and left 2 voicemails. They never called back, so obviously they do not care. Will never be going back. I will stick with Chevy dealership in Carrollton KY.

Fantastic experience: This was my first time taking my car to an actual shop as I usually do the maintenance myself. And they were very thorough, showed me everything that was going on with the car and were extremely friendly. Fantastic experience: The men at the Walton location are always great. I popped in for the car wouldn't start when shut down. I told them I was going to walk home and to call when done (2hr walk, somewhat new to state). Well Jeff offered to give me a ride when he went on lunch. Fantastic experience: Came in with my 1999 VW Cabrio to get the wheels balanced as I've owned the car for three years but never got the wheels balanced. Tech noticed that my strut mount on the passenger front wheel had gone bad and recommended to replace. Advisor wrote up a quote to fix this and said it could be done same day. A few minutes later the advisor noticed that he used the improper labor amount to do the repair. However still honored the original quoted price. Got the car back and was on my way when I noticed that the steering wheel was way off center. Advisor also forgot to recommend/include a wheel alignment as that's needed after a repair such as this. Tech took my car back and did the alignment free of charge. I will definitely be back in the future. Great and honorable place to take your car. Car drives great now!

Fantastic experience: Tuesday morning we had just left Kroger’s and noticed a nail sticking out of the side of the back tire on our SUV. We pulled into Bob Sumerel and were promptly waited on, our tire was in stock, they allowed us to place our perishable groceries in their fridge as we waited in the lobby with our granddaughter. Negative experience: Very impolite. Tried to do a pressure sale and get me to buy new tires rather than providing service asked. Made the statement that the tires I had on vehicle were ones that came with vehicle. They were Michelin and not what comes with the vehicle. Ended up going to Tire Discounters, got them rotated, and they stated the truth that I still have about maybe 8-10k of tread left. Made my appointment already with them to put new tires on. Thats what honesty and service will get you. The sale. I was planning on new tires when I walked in but just wanted a rotation done until I have them changed in a month. Dont make assumptions that your customers are ignorant about car care.

Fantastic experience: Booked my 2004 300m on 3/23/21 for a clunking noise, they checked it out and gave me the info I needed, it was a a lot of work with a strut problem. That was fixed as kwe agreed, and on the agreed timeline. I am not a great person at getting my car serviced, and I knew of other problems but I had them for a long time, and the car is 17 years old so I didn't mention it. I was expecting what I paid for, what was great 2/3 other problems were also fixed. Great job Steve. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service-traveling back home when we stopped for coffee, noticed the check engine light. They were able to preform a computerized engine diag serv, order the part and we needed new wipers on 2015 GMC Terrain. All of this done inside of one hour. The team work was great. I can not praise them enough.

Fantastic experience: Needed 4 tires on my 2010 suburban. I contacted Bob Sumeral of Walton Ky. Russ Zollonowski talked me through my Tire options, how I used my vehicle etc. Got a great deal on the 4 tires. While my car was on the rack, it was readily apparent that 10 years and 120k+ miles put a lot of wear and tear on the suspension. Russ walked me through step by step each part, recommendations and options. No pressure, just a conversation. After building up my trust, I gave the go ahead and could not be happier. Rides like new, fair price, great attention to detail. I was not inconvenienced in the least. I highly recommend Bob Sumeral and in particular Russ Zollonowski.

Fantastic experience: This place gave me awesome service. Dain the mechanic, worked extra to take care of my alternator which could have been very expensive in the future. I highly recommend this shop for auto repair.

Negative experience: Never again. I spent about $700.00 on new tires, two of which didn't last 6 months. One of them could be repaired. They do not guarantee their product. I will never buy from them again.

We do offer road hazard when you purchase tires to cover items that can damage your tire. Unfortunately if the tire is damaged and can't be repaired, you have to purchase another tire. We hope you can understand our side. We value you as a customer and would love for you to come back.

Negative experience: November 1,2019 My car was checked for a no heat problem They gave me estimate for repairs with total $533.75 parts and labor.. I made appointment, took car there and left it. I get a call 3 hours later ..not touched the car and price went up to over $1000.00 for labor!!! I picked up my car and informed Jeff I was not dumb I had been service writer for service department at a ford dealership so I knew about repairs to cars. I had my car checked and was told my water pump,belts and pulleys were fine. I DID NOT NEED ANY OF THE ESTIMATE DONE! Was ask if I was sure they had checked it or just a guess... I would like to know that too! I would NEVER TAKE MY CAR THERE FOR ANY REPAIR OR EVEN OIL CHANGE!! So I wasted $76.31 for checking it??and $20.00 for gas to drive there for nothing but to almost get taken advantage of. NEVER AGAIN JEFF! Shame on you for all the ones you have overcharged that didn't know better!

Fantastic experience: Took car for oil change and tire rotation. Staff was very friendly helpful and lnformative. Everything only took about 45mins. They have very reasonable prices. Would recommend.

Fantastic experience: Listen. They got a tough deal. Keeping everybody's car in tip top shape is a massive undertaking. They do alright. I was impressed with their willingness to match price points on brake replacement. Also. The service manager that helped me was a decent guy... I'm wanting to say his name was ( tony). But I'm prolly wrong. Guy about 50-55 years old... nice dude. Said his son did painting work Maybe the best thing I enjoyed was I was able to sign up for triple A . At a affordable rate with my service. We love the membership. I would highly suggest that anyone who lives in crittenden or Walton needs a mechanic. To check them out.

Negative experience: All I wanted was my tires balanced. Tires only had less than 10,000 on them. Took the car to them, they balanced my tires, on the way home 60 mph was the fastest I could drive, (tires not balanced). 2nd trip they told me I had a bad tire,ok bought a new set of tires. With the new set of tires on I was on my way.... Interstate, can't drive no faster than 60 again! I checked the tires myself, a bad tire! Took the tire to Bob Sumerel any they said it was bad, WHY DID THEY PUT IT ON MY CAR! Another new tire, its ready, What, they put it on without balancing it and was going to let me leave... It still had the 7ozs of weight from the first screw up. Anyway, Russ made me feel like it was my fault and I was a problem. That will be 6 hrs of weight time I can't get back... Mustang needs tires, WILL NOT COME FROM BOB CANT BE HONEST ABOUT TIRES All I wanted was my tires balanced

Positive experience: I had my car towed here after it died on the interstate. I had already been having issues with it and the mechanics here found out through a leak-down test that one of my cylinders was dead and that my car was done for. While I actually do believe them because of terrible circumstances I had already gone through with a previous mechanic, and I do appreciate that they performed the test for free and allowed me to keep the car on their lot while I found a place to take it as junk, I had a few concerns with the place: -The guy who originally called me with updates on my car got fired suddenly, pushing work on my car back by a number of days. -The few times I was there physically there was never anyone around in the lobby. I waited about 30 minutes multiple times and eventually left because nobody was there. Another time I was there about 30 minutes before closing but the shop was already locked. Disclosure: this all happened about a year ago

Negative experience: I had my vehicles towed to this location since it was recommended through my AAA. AAA was amazing but this Bob S. was not. Because of my membership I was quoted a 45 min diagnostic time frame, but after calling back every single day for four days and finding out that my car had not even been brought into the shop was unacceptable. There was one employee who was very polite and has reassured me that the car would be taken care of a few days from then and that I would have a quote as well as a report of the issues by that day. Once that day (4 days after it was towed in) came around and I called, Paul seemed to not even know what car I was talking about and could be heard asking a fellow employee where the car even was. And then on top of it all at that point in the afternoon they hadn’t even made room for my vehicle in the shop and it was still sitting outside. I asked if I would get a call by the end of that day with at least an answer to the card issues and I got a “possibly” in response. I felt so unconvinced as also so put off along with a total lack of faith that this was being taken seriously, that I called AAA back and asked to have my car retowed to the Kia Dealership in Florence. They were wonderful and sent a driver back out immediately to collect my car. When the tow driver called to confirm pickup and then again to confirm the cars drop off at the Kia dealership, he said “well I can completely see why you had a lack of confidence with those guys. I walked in to collect your keys and the guys in the shop weren’t even doing anything. They were playing on their phones and even made me wait till they were done to fetch your keys.” And then said it was ridiculous and that I was right to take it elsewhere. I will never recommend this Bob Sumerel location nor will I ever waste my time going back. Four days with no answers even when I was more than understanding once it even went past the 45 min quote. Not acceptable or how a reputable business is ran.
