Fantastic experience: At age 75 I made my first trip to South America accompanied by my son and his 12 yo daughter. Helen Gamarra of SA Expeditions and my son Ashley worked up the wonderful itinerary which had to be adjusted a few times due to changing travel dates and some delayed flights in Peru. We spent two nights in the Amazon Rainforest at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion, Puerto Maldonado arriving by long canoe. The meals and service were top notch and the 4 lodge tours we took gave us knowledge and great views of the area. We were met at the Cuzco airport by our van driver Edison Conorani and our tour guide Evert Quispe. These two gentlemen were timely, accommodating, and delightful company as they helped us explore Machu Picchu, the Maras Salt Flats, Sacsayhuaman, The Choco Museum, Koricancha and many other splendid sites, restaurants and shops. Evert was fluent in English and he shared his vast knowledge of the area in words and by utilizing pictures in a book he carried with him. We all greatly appreciated his sense of humor and how personally he related to all in our group. He took a lot of pictures of us, too! I am highly recommending SA Expeditions to friends and family! Thank you so much for a superb experience in Peru!

Fantastic experience: SA Expeditions did an excellent job preparing our tour package. From the beginning, Claudia was outstanding—she reached out to us and worked closely to design an itinerary that fit both our budget and our specific interests. We wanted to see the major tourist sights, but also experience cultural, culinary, and local venues, and Claudia made sure all of that was incorporated. She was extremely knowledgeable and created a program that perfectly matched the length of our stay. The itinerary struck a great balance—keeping us engaged with activities while also leaving plenty of time to relax, shop, enjoy the spa, or simply unwind poolside at our hotel. Claudia was not only professional, but also incredibly understanding and easy to work with. We truly appreciated her efforts and would absolutely use SA Expeditions again. We highly recommend their services to anyone planning a thoughtfully curated and enjoyable travel experience.

Fantastic experience: SA is so white glove that we don't know if we can ever take another trip without this company. Every guide literally grew up in the area thru which they are guiding you. Every transfer is meticulously handeled by local experts. Galapagos and Machu Pichu was a trip of a lifetime thanks to SA Expiditions!

Fantastic experience: We had a most wonderful trip to South America! We all want to thank you for your excellent suggestions and help in setting up this amazing journey. All of the accommodations were lovely, the Mio, the Los Cauquenes, the Ventus Australis, Patagonia Camp, and the Magnolia. And the staff at each place was outstanding, better then most good hotels in the US. Special shout out to everybody including guides at Patagonia Camp, I would stay there again in a heartbeat. The Rojo Tango dinner and show was super, and we loved the band. Walking, driving tour of Buenos Aires was fun, and our guide Grisset(?) did an excellent job taking us through the colossal Recoleta Cemetery. The La Biela café was very nice, we went there twice. All the excursions and staff on the Australis trip were top notch. We particularly enjoyed the Cape Horn visit, the glaciers and the penguins (in other words, everything). We had only about 1 hour of rough seas the whole trip. Bocanariz was another good recommendation, we really got into the Chilean Carmenere that we had never tasted before. I would also recommend the Wonderland Café, also near the Magnolia, for its wild Alice in Wonderland interior and excellent staff and breakfast. Lastly, Roberto in Santiago did a tremendous job of shepherding us around the Casablanca wine valley and the walking tour of the city, which included a good bit of history and social commentary, which we were very interested in hearing. So thanks again, and we will most definitely recommend SA Expeditions and you in particular to any of our traveling friends!

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend SA Expeditions if you are wanting to visit Machu Picchu!! They provided us with a fantastic, well planned site seeing experience of a lifetime. We had the best drivers, vehicles, guides, hotels, meals and tours. They took such excellent care of every detail!!

Fantastic experience: Our trip to the Galapagos on board the Galaxy and organized by Jackie Becker at SA Expeditions was an incredible experience. Jackie was very proactive and communicative in the preparation, providing us a live link to updates to our itinerary so we always knew what was planned. She paired us with an excellent experienced guide in Quito for a day-trip to Cotopaxi and environs. The Galaxy crew was friendly and helpful, the boat is very comfortable, the food delicious and plentiful. With a maximum of 16 guests, there is a chance to get to know and enjoy other fellow nature enthusiasts. Our guide Alexis was a native of the islands and extremely well-informed and friendly. He kept us very busy with 4 activities a day, including snorkeling, short island hikes and dinghy rides into the mangroves where we saw all the Galapagos wildlife up close and personal.

Fantastic experience: Had a wonderful trip to Costa Rica that Adam setup for us. The accommodations were amazing, the activities were superb, and the arranged travel was so helpful. Cannot say enough to say how great it was. Hopefully will take another trip with SA again next year.

Fantastic experience: A great tour of Argentina (Buenos Aires) and Uruguay. Well chosen tours and excellent guides made for a great experience. Hotels were located in excellent areas. Mikey was fantastic in arranging and communicating all the details.

Fantastic experience: I had an opportunity to travel with my son to Chilean Patagonia this past January and Renata’s plans for us made for the absolute best experience we could have hoped for on all fronts! Lodging, travel, connections, excursions, and simple tips for being in Chile. She met with us multiple times virtually and answered all our questions so generously. Neither of us had been to SA and just happened upon SA Expeditions on a Google search. I am SO GLAD we did! Our all inclusive lodging and guides with the excursions were impeccably determined for both my 25 yo very fit and adventuresome son and me, a 61 yo decently fit but cautious retiree. We will consult Renata and SA Expeditions for any SA or CA travel in the future. No question!

Fantastic experience: Everything was done for us. We made our own plane reservations from the USA to our destination of Santiago, Chile. But we were picked up at the airport at 6am by Pablo, and driven to our beautiful hotel, where they accommodated us by letting us get into our room that early in the day. The hotel could not have been any more lovely. The people there were extremely nice and the breakfasts were great. Pablo was our private guide for our entire stay (3 days) in Santiago. He was knowledgable, spoke beautiful English, and was happy to switch plans around when we got hungry for lunch. At the end of our trip, Pablo brought us back to the airport and took us in, making sure we had the correct forms filled out, etc. We then took an internal flight to Easter Island and experienced the same level of personal care for our 3 day/night stay. Great guide who took care of us from beginning to end, great hotel, really nice and helpful staff. Good food. Our experience couldn't have been any nicer. Will definitely use SA Expeditions again. And hopefully Mikey Blount will still be there because he was great.

Fantastic experience: Caleb Dorfman was the best! He got to us immediately after we e-mailed for some information about Patagonia and was attentive to us the whole time. Great itinerary suggestions which we tweaked at times. A big benefit was SA booking the interior flights and transfers as well as a number of our hotels. Best part was Caleb’s attentiveness!!

Fantastic experience: Jackie at SA did a fantastic job of planning and organizing an unforgettable trip of a lifetime for me to Patagonia. Would definitely use Jackie and SA again for my next adventure.

Fantastic experience: Our trip to Costa Rica planned by Hellen Gamarra of SA Expeditions was absolutely amazing. We were in awe of the wildlife. We saw many sloths, monkeys and so many other animals. Each area we went was special. The trip to Tortuguero was unlike any other. Very fun. The hospitality of everyone was truly special. Our guides were so knowledgeable and friendly. The standout was our driver/host, Filipe, who quickly felt like a good friend showing us his country and sharing his love of the people and places. We loved having him with us for so much of the trip. He made us feel welcome, safe and comfortable. This was a different style of travel for us and we absolutely loved it. Everything went so smoothly. Although we did not need it, having the 24-hour emergency number was a comfort to us. We appreciate all of Hellen's work on the front end arrangements to customize everything specific to our interests. For future big trips, we will certainly call on SA Expeditions again and will spread the word to friends and family.

Fantastic experience: It is impossible to describe this fabulous experience! From the very beginning, Aseem and his Team were friendly, informative and attentive. We were able to reach them at all hours from all locations and time zones. We spent time in Quito, The Galapagos, and the Ecuadorian Amazon. All 3 of our guides, Jorge, Christian and Jairo exceeded our expectations with their knowledge and sense of humor. We explored the Galapagos on the Archipel 1, absolutely amazing service. In the Amazon, we stayed at the Napo Wildlife Lodge, breathtaking and pristine! I would highly recommend SA Expeditions to help plan your next adventure!

It was our first time booking a long expedition to both Rio and the Amazon with lots of details to be accounted for but they covered everything and more. Each time and guide was perfectly coordinated to get us to our next destinations. Their tour guides are extremely knowledgable. Their suggestions were greatly helpful throughout the booking process. Fantastic experience: Isabel Falls planned a 2 week trip for 6 of us to Argentina.From beginning to end, each detail was carefully planned by her! Meet and greet at each airport, thoughtful, knowledgeable guides that spoke english very well, well structured itinerary that balanced seeing important sites yet programming in down time! Excellent recommendations for restaurants, what to pack. It was a stress free vacation for me and I loved it as normally all that falls on me!! Fantastic experience: This organization is fantastic. Aseem, from SA Expeditions worked with us every step of the way to ensure our trip to Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands and Peru would be one in a lifetime. He organized our hotels--and we were never without a great view or balcony. He arranged our tours and the tour guides chosen were always punctual, very knowledgeable about their country, and quite fluent in English. Each tour was personalized with our input and his suggestions on where to go and what to see. We did not have to worry about transportation or tickets to get into events. He set up our flights and other transportation and our guides were always there to help us with our luggage and the language. All in all it was a stress free and amazing journey. I can not imagine seeing South America without SA Expeditions!

Fantastic experience: Jackie arranged a fantastic 2 week trip to Patagonia for 3 of us. We spent half the time in Chile at Torres Del Paine and half in Argentina at El Calafate and El Chalten. Every aspect of the trip was great: the transportation arrangements, the lodgings and, most importantly the activities themselves. Jackie was excellent to work with; very knowledgeable and available; and easy to contact if we wanted to make a change during the trip itself. Very happy.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I recently went to Peru, (Cusco and Machu Picchu), Iguazu Falls in Brazil and Argentina, El Calafate, in Patagonia, and Buenos Aires. Hayley Ward was the person at SA Expeditions who I worked with for several months to get the trip just the way I envisioned. She was outstanding. Everything ran smoothly throughout the 2 weeks we were traveling. Nearly all the planes we took were on time. The guides were excellent and if we had a question or concern, the SA Expeditions 24 hour number had a real person answering the phone and getting back to us within minutes answering a question. You will be happy with this company and our SA Expeditions travel expert, Hayley Ward. Go with the professionals who know this continent and all the countries so well.

Fantastic experience: We booked a trip through SA Expeditions to Antarctica for early 2025. Our point of contact was Adam. He was exceptional. The entire process was straightforward and simple. Adam was helpful every step of the way, especially so when we had a delay and had to reschedule. We plan to book with them again and would recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic experience: We booked an 8 day trip to Patagonia and Buenos Aires and loved it! Our agent Aseem worked with us to craft the perfect blend of hiking, boating, sightseeing, and shows, along with great hotels and meals. Las Torres in Patagonia was definitely the highlight (both the Las Torres base hike and the beautiful hotel)!

Fantastic experience: I recently went on a 5 day Galapagos cruise that was planned down to a T by Caleb, one of the destination experts at SA Expeditions. I have never booked with a travel agent before and I cannot tell you how much stress I avoided by having a pro plan everything for me, everything from airport taxi pickups in the middle of the night, having a guide to help me through getting the Galapagos visitor pass process at the airport, and the actual cruise experience itself. Caleb virtually walked me through the whole trip and what to expect, even down to taxi transfers, offering suggestions and recommendations for my short stop in Guayaquil. He is the man. It is not an exaggeration to say this trip truly reignited a child-like sense of wonder and excitement I have not felt in many many years. The cruise company SA expeditions sent me with was outstanding, with a highly knowledgeable guide/naturalist, outstanding food, attentive crew and comfortable cabins/lounging areas on the boat. The wildlife and scenery we encountered was truly out of this world. I have always been hesitant to go with a travel agent but for certain once in a lifetime experiences, it is absolutely worth it.

Fantastic experience: SA Expeditions is amazing! We don’t usually go with luxury tour operators, but so glad we did this time. We wanted to get Machu Picchu done right, and SA delivered.Their attention to detail is spot on! All of the accommodations, transportation, etc. that they arranged were just perfect. Evert, Carlos, and Roosevelt are all top flight pros. Evert especially brought the magic, with his deep and personal knowledge of the history and culture of the Inca people, the Spanish, and the modern day Peruvian people descended from them. He also knows the ins and outs of the country, best places to go for dining, shopping, and things to see that most others don’t know about. Plus, he’s just a true pleasure to spend time with, an intelligent, kind, and caring man. Everything you might hope for with a professional guide. Do yourself a favor, go with SA, request Evert, and prepare for a fantastic experience.

Fantastic experience: From the moment we landed in Lima to the time we left the country, every moment of our journey was flawlessly planned. Matt put together for our family a trip of a lifetime exploring many areas of Peru including Lake Titicaca which was a very cool addition to the traditional 7 day itinerary. Through the planning process, Matt was flexible and creative in putting together a custom itinerary that included activities that were best for our family. Once in Peru, the service was spectacular- Every driver and tour guide we had was kind, thoughtful and knowledgeable. We were treated like their family. Jorge was our guide for 6 days in Cuzco, Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley. He was exceptional and will forever be a part of our family. (Highly recommended requesting him!). William down in the Lake Titicaca area was also such a delight. As the person who typically is in charge of all logistics, it was such a luxury to be a traveler rather than planner and to simply enjoy. I can’t say enough about SA. This was our first time using the company and I will be working with Matt to plan our next adventure in Central America. Do not hesitate to work with SA. Simply amazing.

Fantastic experience: We worked with Jackie Becker from SA Expeditions for a trip to Patagonia, Chilé. It was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Our party included 10 people from 3 different states. The accommodations, transfer pickups, expeditions, and level of service was A+ all the way. Jackie made things seemless for us and allowed us to have a stress free, amazing experience. We've been fortunate to travel internationally, and with other organizations on other adventure trips, but this was our FAVORITE experience to date. We hiked, toured, rode horses, fly fished, and had excursions to view glaciers. Every outing was seemless and truly enjoyable. I highly recommend SA and appreciate everything Jackie did for us!

Fantastic experience: We just returned from an incredible trip to the Galapagos Island and the Amazon and I wanted to take time to write about SA Expedition in appreciation. A very big thank you to the SA team for every single detail that they planned and executed so meticulously for us. Starting from timely airport pickups to the choice of wonderful hotels / lodges to well planned meals and carefully curated activities, excursions and even the details that our guides had trying to incorporate for special needs with my husbands post surgery state - it was all very well taken care of. To say that we had a trip of a lifetime is an understatement. Our children have rated this trip 10/10, which is not an easy feat to accomplish, especially with today’s generation that is so stuck on their screens all the time. A heartfelt thank you on behalf of our entire family and congratulate you on the fantastic planning and execution of this incredible experience for us.

Fantastic experience: Our Galapagos/Machu Picchu trip couldn't have been a better family trip - lodgings were first rate, the Alya boat they recommended excellent, guides excellent - especially Dimas for the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu, food and restaurant recommendations were great, and transportation was easy as guides were always waiting for us and ready to go. Would recommend SA Expeditions to anyone. Can be a little hectic with all the travel - so would recommend an extra day or two if you can just to enjoy the hotels and setting if you can. Two hours prior to flights should be sufficient - sometimes they allowed for more which I understand but don't think you need.

Fantastic experience: SA Expeditions put together a trip of a lifetime to Patagonia for my sister and I. Everything was planned so well, from transfers, excursions, to various bucket list areas ending with a Tango show that was the perfect ending. Every guide, driver and transfer provided an amazing adventure. Everyone was on time and provided great information. When we had a question the 24/7 line gave us the info we needed immediately. The planning (by Matt) was specific to what we really wanted to do and everything was accomplished. We didnt have to do any leg work and we had the time of our lives.

William in Guayaquil provided a significant amount of information on what to expect in the area surrounding the hotel and made the check-in process for the flight to Galapagos really easy. William in Puerto Ayora was really friendly and knowledgeable. We truly enjoyed his company. The room at the Ikala Hotel was huge and the facilities were phenomenal. The staff at breakfast were really friendly. The food in Puerto Ayora is amazing. The Archipel 1 was a good cruise and the guide, Sofia, was very energetic and passionate about the Galapagos. The best activities were the three deep sea snorkeling sessions. The crew was very friendly and attentive at all times. The atmosphere while aboard was relaxing. We are definitely going to be reaching out to SA Expeditions in the future. Thanks!

Fantastic experience: Just back from Peru adventure and Amazon cruise. Claudia had all of my connections, land and air, and sightseeing events beautifully arranged. The guides, both on land and on the Arias, were fantastic. Such a learning experience. Now it's time to begin planning my next adventure with SA.

Fantastic experience: SA Expeditions and Jackie Becker, the person who put our trip together did a wonderful job! At every point of contact, we felt taken care of. Our birding guide in Ecuador and city guide in Quito were knowledgeable and enjoyable. It was important that we told Jackie what our primary goals were. She delivered on all of them! We went both to the Mashpi Lodge in the Mendo Forest of Ecuador, and on the boat Coral I for seven days traveling around the Galápagos Islands. Wonderful memories!

Fantastic experience: Amazing Trip to Egypt and Jordan Jackie Becker and SA Expeditions did an amazing job for us, from start to finish. The trip really exceeded our expectations especially Jordan. Sayed our guide in Egypt was very knowledgeable and entertaining. and his English was fantastic. Some of our favorites were The Valley of The Kings, The Pyramids, The MS Farah Nile Cruise and Kom Ombo Temple. Our travelling was seamless thanks to Nadeen on arrival to Cairo and on departure to Jordan. We loved Jordan! Petra and Wadi Rum were highlights, along with our driver Hamza and our guide Ahlam (They were both top notch!). This was our first trip with SA Expeditions, but it certainly will not be our last. Thank you again!!

Fantastic experience: Yes, SA is actually THAT good:) We just returned from a 2-week trip to South America and it was absolutely incredible in every way. Transitions were seamless and every person we met along our journey was far beyond gracious and kind. The guided tours and experiences were among the very best we've ever had. Over the years, we've traveled privately and with NatGeo tours, etc. But IMO, SA is simply on another level for their local relationships and personalized attention to detail prior-to and during the trip. We highly recommend SA for a truly amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Fantastic experience: SA Expeditions was phenomenal to work and plan my trip to Patagonia. It was my first time traveling solo and I had no idea where to start. They handled everything from domestic flights, drivers, hotel bookings, etc. and were familiar with each area I wanted to visit making me feel well informed each step of the way.

Fantastic experience: We had a trip to South America all planned out on our own, when the operator (not SA) cancelled at the last second. I reached out to Jackie at SA on Sunday, and we had a new itinerary figured out on Monday, and we departed on Wednesday. We did the Galapagos and the Ecuadorian jungle trip. The folks from SA were absolutely wonderful. We landed at the airport and they were there to meet us and walk us through almost every step. It was great. I highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I used SA Expeditions to book our honeymoon trip to Greece. It was a bucket list trip for us and the itinerary Jackie put together for us delivered! The entire trip went so smoothly, from airport transfers to hotel check-ins and meeting up with our guides for private tours. Jackie was very responsive to email communication, and I appreciated her setting up phone calls both before and after the trip to go over tips and questions, feedback, etc. I didn't need to use it, but I felt very comfortable during our trip knowing SA has a 24-hour telephone line available for any issues. I would definitely recommend SA for booking travel, and we will use them again in the future!

Fantastic experience: I traveled through SA Expeditions to Peru and Ecuador in October 2024. I worked with Mikey to make all of the arrangements and I could not have had a better experience both with the planning and the trip. The SA guides and drivers were so professional and caring. The itinerary was carried out flawlessly and every aspect of the traveloing exceeded my expectations. I was handed boarded passes, delivered to hotels and airports and yachts and guided around attractions and sites with wonderful commentary from Percy and Evert. Very pleased with my choice of SA Expeditions and I highly recommend this company and will travel with them again.

Fantastic experience: Top notch experience from start to finish. We booked a Peru trip two weeks prior to departure and the team executed flawlessly with our tight deadline. From airport pickups to transfers to tours, every staff member was on time, friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Even with a flight cancellation, they worked quickly to get us rebooked (with better seats!) with only an hour delay from the original plan. The beauty and grandeur of the Andes and Machu Picchu were breathtaking and this team made it even better. Will definitely use them for our next adventure.

Our team of porters: Ronal, Nemesio, Cayetano, Isidro, Celso, Noe, Mario, and the ever present and always excellent Claudio made our trip an unforgettable and wonderful experience! I'd dine at any restaurant that features Ronal as chef and Nemesio as host. The food on the trail beat my expectations of most 5-star restaurants! Can't say enough about the trip and can't wait for our next adventure with SAE!

Fantastic experience: Words cannot express the deep gratitude we have towards SA Expeditions. From the moment we started working with Chelsey—adjusting and rearranging our plans—they made sure everything was tailored to give us the perfect trip. Our van driver, Roberto , claimed he didn’t speak much English, but he knew enough to laugh at our silly jokes. Always on time, his van was spotless and stocked with water and chocolates—yum! After our long hikes, he was a sight for sore eyes. The seamless transitions between hotels, buses, trains, and tours made this the smoothest travel experience we’ve ever had. Our mountain porter, Benedicto, greeted us with a warm smile and beautifully arranged, delicious lunches. We were always so excited to see him! Though he didn’t speak much English, his shy smile lit up our day as we cheered his name in excitement for our meals. Then there’s our guide , Everette, who was with us every step of the way —where do we begin? His knowledge of his beloved country was endless. We peppered him with questions all week, and he seemed to know it all. His sense of humor kept us entertained as he mixed fun with facts about Peru. Spending so much time with a guide can be intense, but with him, it was the perfect balance of education and enjoyment. We truly had the best time. Our accommodations were top-notch, and the included meals were amazing. Every hotel went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. At our final hotel, the hot water bottles placed in our bed each night were such a welcomed touch after a long day of exploring. Peru, we didn’t know what to expect from you, but you exceeded every expectation. The people, the beauty, the hospitality, and yes, the shopping—all more than we could have hoped for. So there it is—I’ve tried my best to express how our hearts are overflowing with gratitude, joy, and awe after visiting Peru. Fantastic experience: Our Peruvian adventure far exceeded our expectations in every dimension. The trip was planned by Adam Laughter of SA Expeditions. Every detail of the trip was coordinated flawlessly. The logistics of getting to Machu Pichu are complicated. However, our guide Jorge, understood the complexities and the nuances of navigating the adventure. He understood that the altitude could have been an obstacle to having a great time. But, he paced the trip to accommodate us, and not a predetermined schedule. The entire itinerary met our needs and was custom tailored to us. We got to meet many other travelers on our trip; but it seemed that all the SA Expedition clients were the most delighted with their bucket list adventure.

Fantastic experience: We had the most amazing experience with this company. Our trip coordinator, Chelsea, was very knowledgeable and responsive to questions, and ensured every detail was taken care of, while adjusting things to accommodate all of our requests throughout the planning process. Having lived in Peru, she had personal experience with the area to share with us. Our guide in Peru, Max, far exceeded our expectations and made the trip truly perfect. A native to the area, he knew everyone, everywhere we went and as a result we found ourselves getting the VIP treatment at every turn. He was so excellent at explaining the culture and history of the area that we found other groups wandering away from their guides to listen in on his wisdom. As we watched other tour groups it was very apparent that we had picked the absolute best, and our trip went perfectly every step of the way. We also have to give a shout out to our excellent driver, Nicolas, as well as everyone else who helped us along the way. I’d never want to repeat the trip with any other company but S.A.!

Fantastic experience: We booked our trip to Galapagos and Machu Picchu with Jackie at SA Expeditions. Our group was my husband, me, my daughter, and my son-in-law. The trip was AMAZING! We booked our own flights to Ecuador and home from Lima but everything else was 100% arranged by SA Expeditions. Every single step was perfect -- all of the transportation was where it was supposed to be, when it was supposed to be there. Drivers made sure our rooms were all available before they left - they also made sure we were all checked in for our flights at the airport before leaving. The hotels were ALL excellent. There were A LOT of moving parts in our trip (multiple flights, multiple hotels, multiple transfers to and from airports, multiple entry tickets, etc.) The guides that were hired for both parts of our trip were FANTASTIC. Very knowledgeable and helpful -- David in Galapagos and Miguel in Cusco/Machu Picchu were the best guides we've ever had. And our rep at SA Expeditions, Jackie, took care of every detail, answered every question we had, and made sure that we were completely comfortable with all of the arrangements before we left. She provided an emergency contact number (that we never needed) in case we ran into any issues on our trip. I had never heard of SA Expeditions before our trip and, I have to admit, I was a little nervous working with a company I had never heard of. But the reviews were all good and I decided to take the chance with them. We will ABSOLUTELY be doing business with SA Expeditions again and whenever possible. Fantastic experience: SA Expeditions (specifically Adam Laughter) organized an outstanding trip for our party of six to various locations in Brazil including the Pantanal, Amazon rainforest, and Iquacu Falls. The trip was complicated due to the multiple locations we wanted to visit but nonetheless it was seamless and hassle-free. He had knowledgeable guides meet us upon each airport arrival, escort us to our lodging and return us to the airport when moving on to the next segment of our trip, even assisting us with check-in which was particularly useful since none in our party spoke Portuguese. The lodges he recommended were top notch and exceeded our expectations. He even assisted us with getting the airline seats we desired. In both the planning stage and after he promptly responded to any emails we sent and addressed any concerns that we had. I would happily use him and SA Expeditions for future travel in South America.

Fantastic experience: We found SA Expeditions while searching for companies to put together a trip for us to visit Rio and the Amazon. They had a sample itinerary which was close to what we wanted so we gave them a call. After sharing our plans, they put together the perfect itinerary that met all of our requests. We initially were scheduled for January 2025, but due to changes in work schedule, needed to move it up to September 2024. They worked with our new dates and were able to deliver a perfect itinerary once again. After we arrived in Rio, SA Expeditions took care of everything right up till the moment we boarded our flight back. The guides that met us in Rio, Manaus, and the Amazon were great and transportation was safe, clean, and efficient. Anavilhanas Lodge in the Amazon was one of the greatest places we have ever visited. After meeting with some guides at the lodge, it was recommended that we visit the meeting of the rivers in Manaus. I contacted SA travel just days before we were heading back to Manaus and they were able to quickly update the itinerary. I would highly recommend working with SA to plan your trip; they take all of the stress out of managing the details, pair you up with great guides, and customize the itinerary to meet your budget and requests. We worked with Adam at SA, and he took the time to understand our requests, was very responsive and made it happen.

Fantastic experience: I just completed two weeks of travel, the first week focused on Macchu Picchu and the second focused on the Galapagos Islands. All travel was arranged by SA Expeditions. I could not have asked for a better outfit to plan for and assist me in my travels. What made it truly outstanding for me was the extra "personal" assistance given to me by my wonderful guide at Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Islands cruise staff during my travels. At the age of 78, my sense of balance and agility were not what they were 20 years ago, and but for their extra personal assistance, I doubt that I could have made these expeditions on my own.

Fantastic experience: If you are looking for a remarkable tour company with a friendly and knowledgeable travel agent, look no further. We used SA Expeditions for our trip to Peru and Ecuador and just returned from a trip of a lifetime. All our tranfers, tours, hotels, and itineraries were spectacular, but most of all, the people that were assigned to us were as great as possible. Julia Steck, our travel agent, seamlessly put together our perfect itinerary, accommodating interests, changes, dates, and offering great suggestions. She had a guide give me a little bull from Lima and coffee from Machu Picchu. The reasons we booked this trip were to see Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Islands. As I stated, all the guides were wonderful, but I want to name the guides that we spent most of our time with, namely Marco in Cuzco and Chris in Galapagos. Marco helped and cared for us as a parent would, even though we are many years his superior. What tour guide would stop our climb up the Short Inca Trail to notice that flies were around me and needed our repellant to stop them from biting? Marco. Chris knew I was terrified of snorkeling. What naturalist would pull a person along with a life preserver as he pointed out all the underwater animals to the rest of the group? Chris. I am including a tiny sample of the pictures we took.

Fantastic experience: I have to admit I was a little apprehensive as I was travelling alone and SA set up a whole tour for me in Peru. About a week before I left Jackie called me to go over every step of the way, telling me what to do and what to expect. This made me feel a little better. From the moment I stepped off the plane in Lima everything went as she said it would. The guide met me off the plane, took me to the hotel, all by private mini coach and then we continued to explore per the itinerary Jackie had set up for me. I can find no fault at all with my trip, Jackie or the company. in fact she has sold me on private tours so much better than doing group tours, you learn so much more as the guide pays attention to what YOU want to see and learn about. Fantastic experience: My wife and I just returned from a 9-day Peru trip booked through SA Expeditions, as planned by Hayley, and we could not be happier. We customized our trip by adding an extra day to one of the itineraries on their website. We visited the Amazon, the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu for a tour and then a hike of Machu Picchu Mountain, Cusco, and then back to Lima. The entire trip was seamless with tour guides, drivers, and representatives for transfers that all exceeded expectations. This is our first trip with SA Expeditions, but it certainly will not be our last.

Fantastic experience: Our experience was amazing . Matt organized a seamless , busy itinerary that suited our family perfectly. We loved our experience trekking the Inca trail in 4 days thanks to our incredibly knowledgeable expert guide Max. Not only was Max very organized he kept us entertained with colourful historical accounts of each area we visited from Cusco to his home town of Olleyntambo to the ultimate bucket list destination of Matchu Pichu. Max along with our chef and porters made our trek a great adventure for our entire family including our 20- something boys who he challenged physically on the impossible staircase and again climbing Heinu Pichu which was a highlight for them . We particularly enjoyed the amazing Peruvian food both on the hike and in the towns. Matt’s hotel suggestions were great as well . The view from the Lima Marriott was breathtaking. . Overall we had a trip of a lifetime thanks to Matt, all our drivers, our incredible guide Max, the porters and chefs who worked very hard to create a 5 star experience for our family! Thank you

Fantastic experience: My family of 8 really enjoyed our SA expeditions tour to Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley. Max was a fantastic guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable and we learned a lot about local culture and history from him. He was also very kind and helpful. We miss him already. We also really appreciated our driver, Luis, as he navigated some challenging roads in the city and in the countryside. There were so many highlights for our family: the Incan trail and Machu Picchu (of course), visiting the lovely Quechua family in the mountains, having pachamanca lunch at the farm, lunch at the private home/ restaurant in Maras, and then the llama farm as well. All of the hotels were comfortable and fun — and very different.

Fantastic experience: When I first booked I thought SA Expedition prices were a little high. However, my 10-17 Aug trip to Peru changed my view! Fom our arrival in Lima to our departure we had “white glove” treatment and a phenomenal trip. SA agents met us every transfer and our private quite Johann met us in Cuzco and was an expert. His local kowledge was fantastic and added to the Sacred Valley and Cuzco experience. It was great to have Romulo as a driver. When the Peru Rail locomotive broke down and we were late returning from Machu Picchu to Ollantaytambo by 4 hours; Johann and Romulo found a short cut at the station that easily saved us 45 minutes in the congestion to get us back to Cuzco nearly on time for bed. The accomadations in the Sacred Valley at Sonesta Posadas Del Inca was more luxurious than expected and with excellent food and service. Casa Andina in Agua Calientewas a pleasant spot for one night and the breakfast more than adequate. The jewel of accomadation was the Aranwa hotel in Cuzco. I think we just scratched the surface of Cuzco culture. We had a whirlwind tour of Lima with the highlight being the Larco Museum particularly with Carlos’ intimate knowledge of Mochica culture. I was impressed with the SA team from start to finish. It was worth every Soles. My only regret is that I budgeted so little time in Peru. It is more fasinating than I hoped. My daughter wishes to return again next year and stay longer. Thanks for a great trip.

Fantastic experience: This was an AMAZING, once in a life time trip. In Quito, we had Sebastian Jurado, as our tour guide, and he was incredible. Can't say enough about him. Sebastian ROCKS!!!. The Galapagos Cruise on the Legend Ship was fantastic. The crew was very friendly and attentive to all our needs. The food was great!! The Naturalist Guides were incredibly knowledgeable about the marine and land animal life. If you plan to do a trip like this, I would suggest using SA Expeditions. They were incredible in putting a custom package together for us. This company is extremely knowledgable in Custom Tour Packages in this area. Thanks for everything SA Expeditions. We had a BLAST on this trip.

Fantastic experience: We have just come back from our, SA organized, Peru trip and everything was perfect. SA had our trip organized and managed perfectly. Everybody was on time to pick us up, drop us off, show us around, etc. It was truly amazing. All the accommodations were great as well. All guides, drivers were amazing. Our favorite was Johan for Cusco, Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. He was so knowledgeable and engaging. I have two teenagers and they are not easy to please :). They loved Johan as well. Jose was our driver and he was awesome. We will definitely use SA in future on some of our trips.

Fantastic experience: This was a perfect trip. Everything ran smoothly—there was a minor bit of confusion about the time we were to leave the Singular for the airport for the flight to Rapa Nui, but it was no problem at all. The Singular is a beautiful hotel in a perfect location, close to shopping, attractions and restaurants, and the staff there was first-rate. Because of the information you sent us about the forms needed for Easter Island we were ready with all our documentation and got our approval to go there quickly and smoothly. Hugo was a great guide—affable, spoke excellent English, knowledgeable, and able to talk about history and culture and contextualize the attractions we saw. He is one of the best guides I have ever had. The Explora was clearly the nicest hotel on Easter Island. The staff there was helpful, the food and accommodations were fantastic, and the guided explorations gave us a comprehensive picture of the island, the history and culture of the Rapa Nui, and even some ideas about how to understand cultural artifacts when there is less than complete information about them. The Explora’s guides were uniformly of high quality and well-informed. It would have been difficult, if not impossible, to really see Easter Island without them. Overall, I would strongly recommend this tour to other people thinking about visiting Chile and Easter Island.

Fantastic experience: Just came back from our Peru Amazon Trip couple days ago. I just have to say how thankful we are to have chosen this destination and to have chosen a private tour with SA for my family of 5. Our 3 kids were so intrigued by the history, landscape and the wild animals at the Amazon. We have been traveling independently most of our lives, but for a destination with highlights so far apart, I think a private tour is definitely the way to go. It just makes our days so much more efficient and effortless.

We were in the thick of planning a wedding but knew we wanted to go on an adventure for our honeymoon so South-America was our destination and SA expedition made it happen. Fantastic experience: My family wanted to celebrate my father's 80th birthday with a special trip and SA came through with flying colors. The most important thing for my father was that the entire family could be together (20 people from age 5 to age 85) and Adam and SA created something incredible for us in Peru. Our tour had activities that not only everyone could participate in, but also were enjoyable for the youngest to the oldest. Travel was seamlessly coordinated, and the quality of the guides and hotels were unmatched. We were not an easy group - from concerns about altitude and bugs that needed to be addressed before travel, to dietary restrictions during our visit, and even a medical emergency during our first few days, SA was there to handle it all. Max and Marco, our incredible guides, were able to not only help accommodate a last minute request for a small group to hike the Inca Trail from Agua Caliente to Machu Picchu, but when our 2nd day tickets to Machu Picchu did not reflect the appropriate times and members of our party they worked some magic and there were no issues by time of entry. Thank you to the entire SA staff, Adam and our extraordinary guides for making such a memorable experience for our family!!

Fantastic experience: This trip was perfect! Megan checked that every single detail we wanted in this trip was taken care of. The guides were there each leg of the trip and handled all of the airport navigating and directed us to the proper lines, and most of the time we were able to bypass long lines because of them. I hope you all can request Gahndi in Santa Cruz/Isabella because he made the trip exciting and different from other tours. He really found what our wants were and then made sure each tour met those expectations. Way above and beyond anything we could have asked for. I can’t recommend this company and travel to Ecuador enough! It is a must, and Megan planned it perfectly. We will be using them for every trip in the future.

Fantastic experience: Wow!! What a Trip! SA Expeditions did an amazing job taking care of our family of 4 in booking the perfect Peruvian vacation for us! It all started with the amazing Julia who took our call, understood what we were looking to do/see, and also listened well to make an itinerary that would fit the bill for our family since we had two sons that are 18 and 20 yrs old and wanted a faster pace...and then a little bit slower pace for myself and my husband, who had recently been in accident and he needed special accommodations. Every little detail was taken care of...from the planning process...to our arrival at the Lima airport...to all our transfers...to our AMAZING tour guides...to our River Cruise along the Amazon...to our transfer back to the airport! I want to take a minute to give a special shout out to Juan, our guide in Cusco and Machu Picchu!! Juan was absolutely FANTASTIC! He was able to manage the fast pace of our boys while also accommodating my husband and myself! Juan was very knowledgeable about the Inca history and his passion shines through. I also want to give some praise to Roberto, our driver!! Let me tell you, driving in Peru is not for the faint of heart...and we always felt safe with Roberto! And finally, we have nothing but excellent things to say about ending our trip on the Aria River Cruise on the mighty Amazon River! Top notch all the way! The river boat was incredibly comfortable and the staff was so friendly and welcoming! All of our accommodations on this trip was beyond spectacular! Great job, SA Expeditions!!! We have fantastic memories that we will carry with us for a lifetime!

Fantastic experience: Our expectations for the Inca Trail and Machu Picchu trip were met and far exceeded. From the time we arrived in Lima until our departure from Cusco, our travel experience could not have been more seamless. At every stage, someone was there to assist us and troubleshoot any issues. The quality of the hotels in each of the three cities was superb. We were impressed with the quality of camping gear provided, including the tents, air mattresses, sleeping bags and liners. We noticed that the trail team was provided with gear of similar high quality; porters with other companies were often not so fortunate. Of course, the highlight of the trip was our hike on the Royal Inca Trail and the tour of Machu Picchu. Our team included head chef, Flavio, whose meals on the trail were outstanding. His culinary talents would compare favorably with anyone, anywhere. Our team of porters, led by Demecio, were hardworking, friendly, eager to serve, and functioned well as a team. We felt fortunate to have this specific support group. The entire team was directed by our guide, Evert Quispe. Evert is a natural leader who fostered an atmosphere of collegiality and enthusiasm in the overall group, which included us. Evert’s passion for Inca history and the traditional culture of Quechua people was evident, freely shared and much appreciated. We valued his skill as a guide and enjoyed his easygoing personality as well as his sense of humor. Each day, he helped us set a pace that was comfortable for us. He displayed companionship with porters and guides from other companies by offering words of encouragement and even sharing snacks. By the end of our time with him, we felt he was more than a guide; he was a friend as well. Our only suggestion to SA Expeditions would be to advise future travelers that in order to use ATM’s, they should bring debit cards as opposed to ATM cards. Another option is to be sure that their credit cards have the cash advance feature activated. In summary, we had a wonderful experience due to the hard work and enthusiasm of all those involved. We look forward to traveling with SA again in the future.

Fantastic experience: This was a GREAT trip - 3 weeks in South America, Chile and Argentina. With very detailed planning and monitoring of our flights, Adam and his team made this trip completely seamless. The planning, logistics, hotels/lodges, guides, drivers ... we can't say enough about how things went perfectly well. We landed in Buenos Aires from Canada, took a half day guided tour, and left a few days after for El Calafate to see the Perito Moreno glacier. We left here and went to Torres Del Paine: this drive ended up being in a snow storm but our driver was exceptional. We stayed at Explora which was a perfect fit for us: amazing food, good wine, guided hikes and the mountains. We spent a short layover in Santiago so took in a wine tour, before flying over to Mendoza where we stayed in the Uco Valley and spent a day wine touring again. With all logistics to get us to Igauzu Falls, this is where we ended the adventure. Thank you SA Expeditions. We are very happy customers and definitely see your value for any trip!

Fantastic experience: We've just returned from the trip of a lifetime with SA Expeditions and couldn't have been more pleased. Claudia put together a custom package that included an Amazon cruise on the Delfin III, and time in Cusco, the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Palccoyo mountain, and Lima. Every single detail was handled smoothly from the moment we connected with Claudia. Transfers were friendly and efficient, and both the Delfin III and our hotels were first class. Claudia even made adding a last-minute tour as simple as could be. The SA tour guides were some of the best we've encountered anywhere in the world. Alfredo, Dimas, and Miguel are very knowledgeable about history, geography, architecture, and plant and animal life and are all excellent storytellers. They’re friendly, fun, and flexible and did an excellent job of personalizing the tours. (And I’m convinced that Jose Luis is one of the world’s best drivers!) We’re grateful for Claudia’s expertise in putting together such a wonderful trip and look forward to working with her again.

Fantastic experience: What I loved about using SA Expeditions is their commitment to use local resources. I had 3 private guides who had a tremendous amount of knowledge in their respective areas. I learned so much and have a decent understanding of the culture, nature, and inhabitants of Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. I didn't have to worry about anything with these guides. All were professional and handle things with ease. I didn't even have to worry about my luggage. Jackie was my agent. She was thorough with my itinerary and the details. She was constantly making adjustments as issues came up. She answered hundreds of my questions with patiences and provided helpful prep documents. Everything went smoothly with my domestic flights and international flight going home.

Fantastic experience: We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Peru and SA Expeditions organization, guides, and our itinerary. Of course, our highlight was hiking into Machu Picchu and up Huayna Picchu but we also loved our waterfall hike. Marco is an outstanding guide. Marco's knowledge, passion and love for his country and its history made our trip especially memorable. The rapport he created with us made us feel like we were traveling with our amiable and interesting friend. Marco also offered excellent recommendations for our stay in Cusco. We want to compliment Nico who is a terrific driver; he and Marco made an excellent team! Our stay in Lima was also fun. Carlos is warm and professional. The city tour was informative and gave us a great overview of Lima; we really enjoyed the Largo Museum. The Gourmet Food Tour led by Patricia was a wonderful taste of Peru and we fell in love with Peruvian food! All the accommodations were fantastic! The Villa Barranco is the perfect location for exploring the neighborhood and the staff is exemplary, especially Monica!. Our room was lovely and we enjoyed the delicious breakfasts in the outdoor seating. Inkaterra Hacienda Urubama in the Sacred Valley was gorgeous and the view was magical! After a long waterfall hike, toasty water bottles at turndown were a pampering touch! The restaurant was also very good. Sumag in Agua Calientes was the perfect place to regroup after our hikes. The dinner, breakfast and lunch were amazing... really, they offered the most incredible food and presentation; Francisco was especially accommodating of my need to be gluten-free. Those were some of our favorite meals! Lastly, Antigua San Blas in Cusco was charming and comfortable and its convenient location made it easy to explore, dine and shop. The staff was so friendly, attentive and helpful. It was a pleasure to stay there. Overall, the trip was fantastic and we returned with a deep appreciation for Peru and enough memories to last a lifetime!

Jackie was very flexible with all last minute changes we made and very responsive, promptly addressing our queries and concerns, from start to finish. Fantastic experience: One of the best organized trips we have ever taken. We appreciated Chelsea’s always prompt and helpful responses to our questions. At every point along the way in Peru, there were SA representatives to meet and brief us on next steps. Max, our guide in the Sacred Valley, was, in addition to being very knowledgeable about the region its history and culture, always thinking one step ahead and looking out for us. Great trip run by a first rate organization.

Fantastic experience: We had a terrific trip to Peru! This was our first trip with SA and we are looking forward to planning another trip in the future. Adam planned the perfect trip itinerary with our shortened travel timeframe. All our drivers and tour guides were exceptional. The focus of our trip was spent in the Cusco area with guide Johan and driver Edison. Both were fantastic to be with, knowledgeable, and friendly. Peru is a beautiful country and SA is the perfect group to plan your trip.

Positive experience: 1. Communication with the travel agency was good and responsive. 2. It was great to be meet at the airport by other a representative and a driver. 3. City tour guild missed our schedule tour time but the office reschesule for 5 hours later. 4. Hotel in Cusco was top notch and conveniently located for touring the city. 5. Guild was very knowledgeable and eager to share the known history and prevailing theories. He was also a good sport and did his best to keep up with me on the hike 6. Hotel in Machu Picchu initially presented well, however the room felt unfinished, moist and had damp bedding. Staff was very nice and the restaurant had good food. 7. The lunch after touring Machu and the hike was at a different, and nice hotel and the food was delicious.

Fantastic experience: Our Patagonia trip was absolutely fabulous! Julia was delight to work with, she took care of all the arrangements and we had a seamless vacation. Torres Del Paine Lodge is incredible and she arranged for our last night in Valparaiso which is delightful at the most amazing hotel!

Fantastic experience: What an adventure! We tried to cram too much into a 15-day trip, but certainly got our money’s worth and hit all the places we had long planned to see. SA Expeditions really takes care of you, from finding the best hotels, to meeting you at every stop, to providing excellent guides at every point, to having contact names and numbers to call if something goes wrong. India is a long way for us to go from California, so after a 21-hour plane ride, it was a relief to be met at the jet bridge by two gentlemen who guided us through the immigration process, and then a representative and driver who got us to our hotel where we could recover for the excursions ahead. The traffic everywhere is a real experience itself. Constant horn-blowing, incredibly close calls, yet no actual accidents. Then walking with our guide and taking a rickshaw ride through the narrow crowded streets of old Delhi was first. A boat ride during sunrise on the Ganges in Varanasi showed us the spiritualism of the people as they bathed in the holy river and performed cremations on the ghats. From there it was off to Agra and the Agra Fort, and next day sunrise at the Taj Mahal. We were lucky on the game drives in Ranthambore park and got to see two tigers. Then off to Jaipur for two more days of palaces, monuments, and history from our guide. I got sick on the last day and so we missed Udaipur, but Becky and SA Expeditions arranged for two more days at the hotel and a drive to Delhi for out flight home. And thanks to Jackie for setting the itinerary up just as I asked for, and for consulting with us before and after the trip. This was our second trip with SA Expeditions and hopefully won’t be our last.

Fantastic experience: I recently took a trip with my family to the Galápagos Islands. The trip was fantastic and SA Expeditions was great. Julia was very easy to work with and was very helpful in planning our trip. I highly recommend them and would use their services again for another trip.
