Negative experience: First time on Starr 1 day trip. Very disappointing. Starts with no heat on bus and told it was on. Freezing. Seats not very comfortable with very little leg room.Like an economy air flight. Tour director not that good. Never counted people, just asked if any empty seats. Couldn’t sit our group of 4 together on boat after helping person who couldn’t keep up due to being mislead and then had to go another way. Heat fixed on way home. Started survey and went to finish the next day and it was taken down. I don’t think they want anyone to have time to respond.

Fantastic experience: Prior to our trip, communication was swift, correct and accurate. We were given the bus drivers name and number ahead of time AND he was prepared according to itinerary. Some bus drivers don't get the information in enough time to be informed and others just don't care. Brian was prepared and kept our days on time!

Fantastic experience: We booked a trip with Starr and Joel was our bus driver. He safely drove us 6 hours, was very attentive and personable, and went above and beyond to meet every one of our requests (helping us with a large cooler, turning up the A/C, passing us the microphone, finding a lost lunch bag, etc.). I'd never booked a bus trip before, but he made it all very easy and enjoyable.

Fantastic experience: I just wanted to give feedback on the Rail and Sail that I took this past July 26 to 28, 2024. The FDR estate in Hyde Park was rushed. We needed more time with this one. Sagamore Camp didn't hold our interest at all, boring. A suggestion, eliminate Sagamore and replace with something else of interest. More time for FDR Estate. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: My fears are over! This was my first solo trip, and it was great! I was reluctant to travel alone as a single, middle-aged woman, but Paulette (tour guide) put me at ease immediately. She & Fernando (driver) make a great team, both were very pleasant and accommodating. I look forward to my next trip!

Fantastic experience: We recently used star tours while on a eighth grade, DC and New York trip while we were in the Washington DC area our driver Rob was amazing very friendly , overall fantastic as he drove us through Delaware and New Jersey to take us to New York to drop us off for the final leg of our trip. he would point things out as you could see the City he started playing songs with New York in them and the kids just started to giggle as did the adults before he let us off the bus he gave us some fantastic advice being in the big city to keep us safe 10 out of 10 would recommend Rob again for our kids group.i too Drive a bus for a living , i drive a school bus and to meet someone that I feel cares the way I do was very comforting

Fantastic experience: We recently traveled in NYC with Derrick. He went above and beyond to ensure our students were safe and got to see all the sights. He was also incredibly kind! The bus was clean, fresh, and the AC worked great! If you travel with them, ask for Derrick!

Negative experience: Beware. Starr sold me a seat without storage, lights, or ventilation. When I contacted the owner upon my 28 day return, she LIED about such a seat exiting!

Fantastic experience: Thank you for a WONDERFUL bucket list trip with Starr to see the Rockettes and the Rockefeller Center Tree. Our bus driver "O" and tour guide "Theresa " went well above their duties to make sure we found our way back to bus. Will definitely continue checking off bucket list travel with Starr..

Fantastic experience: We took the Adirondack tour rail and sail tour over the summer. We have never done one of these tours before with Starr and was not sure what to expect as I usually like to plan my own trip. As it turned out, they clearly have a lot of experience as they made some choices that I thought I did not want, and they turned out to be some of the best parts of the trip. We met some very nice people, including several who were traveling alone. I would highly recommend recommend Starr tours if you want an experienced travel consultant to plan the trip and leave the driving to an excellent safe driver.

Negative experience: My first, and probably last tour with star bus travel. Took the girlfriends trip up to see the mansions in Rhode Island a.k.a. the Gilded Age. The actual bus was not new and lacked many features. The bus driver was fabulous. The tour guide did not have a comprehensive tour ready, she seemed totally unsure of what she was doing and where she was going. I expected at least decent food on the trip, but never saw it. The worst and probably the most embarrassing night was a fancy dinner Cotillion night. I expected a lovely show of how they all got dressed up and danced during the Gilded Age. There was no show, but beads thrown on the table, and then told to get up and fall of some dance that they were trying to show. Again, embarrassing. I paid a lot of money for this trip and could’ve gone on a beautiful vacation in the Caribbean for what I paid. If I can get back my money or even a portion of it, I would.

Fantastic experience: We just got back from Starr’s Cross Country trip. It was beyond amazing!! Gene the tour director was fantastic and very detail oriented. He made the trip fun and educational! He thought of everything, including the best music on the bus. We had a blast . Our driver Fernando was also fabulous. Without him we could not have traveled the USA. Would highly recommend traveling with Starr. We have done many, many trips in the past and none have disappointed. We have 5 more already booked and can’t wait to get on the road again !! Fantastic experience: Just got back from Niagara Falls, Canada trip with my mother; we had a great time. Only complaint was dinner on second night, not good. However I noticed for next year dinner options have changed, good call. One suggestion would be to include a walking rating for trips. Example: Light, moderate or heavy. My mother, along with others on the trip did have a hard time with some of the walking. If we had known we would have planned better. Would definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience: Just got back from the NY Yankees VS Redsox tour! Had an amazing time. This is actually my second time going on a tour with Starr and both times I’ve had Gene. He is an amazing tour guide! Gene always makes the rides interesting with cute music/movies related to what we’re about to embark on! Leon was our tour driver and he was also amazing!!! No issues at all. I will definitely be booking again!

Fantastic experience: Have traveled with Starr tours quite a few times and have never had a bad experience. Just got back from Hudson valley NY. Fabulous trip and met so many wonderful people. If you are a solo traveler, you will be just fine. Saw so much in 3 days. River cruise along the Hudson, Olana, FDR museum and library, dinner at culinary institute of America, West Point and Brotherhood winery.

Negative experience: I was scheduled for a trip to the Holocaust Museum on December 10th 2022, unfortunately I tested positive for covid about a week before the trip, I called them 4 days before the trip alerting them of this and was told I'd get a partial refund, that was back in early December, these people love to rip you off , I suppose to just go on a crowded bus tour and infect other people even though the law says a person who test positive for covid should quarantine. I have heard nothing from these crooks and have hired an attorney. I would NOT take any trips with Starr ever again.

Fantastic experience: From the moment I spoke with Shane I knew my experience with Starr was going to be flawless. It was. My 3 day trip to Washington DC was outstanding from beginning to end. Shane was professional and extremely kind and so was our bus driver! Leon was not only efficient and a great driver he was friendly and never missed a beat! I can’t wait to go back next year! I’ve already put in my request for him to be our driver again! Thank you Starr Tours!!!

Buddy's knowledge of Washington D.C. and his logistical suggestions enabled us to execute our itinerary flawlessly. His calm and cool grace enabled us to travel to and fro seamlessly. I believe in the power of story, and Buddy's stories added substance to our experience that can never be replicated.

Fantastic experience: I have been traveling with STARR since 2007 and the trips just get better. modern buses, good destinations and knowledge tour guides. they try to pick up in many places and I only do day trips but appreciate not having to drive home late at night instead letting STARR do it.

Positive experience: Traveling can be complicated; but with Starr Tours , they do all the work with perfection!! Just returned from their 13 day trip to Daytona Beach and my wife and I had the best of time! We did have to plan anything; just sat back and enjoy the hotels, food, side tours etc. Penny, our tour director was fabulous and Andrew, the driver was skilled! They even made the trip perfect because the weather couldn’t have been better - warm and sunny!! We’ll be taking many more trips with Starr. Thanks to all of the people on the inside!!

Fantastic experience: Recently, I booked a charter bus for a senior class trip to Hershey, PA with Starr Bus Charter & Tours. The bus was clean and had plenty of room for my group. Our driver, Buddy, was the best. He was friendly, upbeat, and very accommodating. When rain had to change our plans, Buddy had no problem adjusting the schedule and always got us where we needed to be with a smile on his face. The kids especially got a kick out of the music he would play when we were getting on the bus each day. We had a great experience with Starr and with Buddy! Thanks!

Fantastic experience: Have taken several day trips and a few several day trips. Very enjoyable and one of my favorites was a trip to Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard but never have had a bad trip. Looking to one in the future.

Fantastic experience: My son and his girlfriend went on a Hershey Park, PA day trip and absolutely loved it. They said the Starr Bus employees and the people on board were the friendliest people anyone could hope to encounter. The lunch stop that was included in the trip was delicious and well picked by the trip planners. The bus was clean and they arrived to and from their destinations safely. Booking was easy and the agent I met on the phone (I believe her name is Deborah) was pleasant and upbeat. Both kids said they would use Starr Bus again and highly recommend others try a trip for themselves to see how convenient it is to let Starr plan and transport you to your next adventure.

Fantastic experience: Day trip to NYC Saturday October 17, visited The Highline & Hudson Yards. The Vessel was incredible. Starr is to be commended for their vehicle preparation & attention to safety. Individual seating, bit of challenge for conversation, but everyone managed. Keep up the good prep work & eventually we'll get back to traveling freely again.

Fantastic experience: Annapolis Fall Foliage Cruise on Oct 17 was wonderful, we were lucky to have great weather. Our tour guide Roseann, and our driver Walt really went the extra mile! The onboard guide was very educational....who knew how important oysters are to the environment?

Fantastic experience: Myself & my three friends went to Ellis Island & The Statue of Liberty on Saturday - our bus driver Fernando took his time getting all of us there & back safely never once hitting his brakes - & tour guide Karen was simply marvelous had quite a bit of interesting tidbits of information about both sites Thanks to both Karen& Fernando for all their TLC to make our trip a wonderful memory. Also sending thanks to Debra & Sandy for their patience & assistance booking this tour during Covid. Bus was clean both Karen & Fernando constantly sanitized as we went to & from our destinations. Fantastic experience: Mackinac Island was one of the best tours I've been. No, that's not true. I've been going on tours with Starr for years with my husband, and we"ve never had a bad tour! In fact, we've enjoyed the tours so much, we've done a couple twice..This tour was a little different because of covid19. However, everyone complied with safety rules and our tour director Penny made sure things were safe for us! No more anxiety about traveling! In November we're scheduled for Nashville Christmas, then December-Brooklyn Lights. Kudos to Starr!

Fantastic experience: Yesterday we had a wonderful day trip to Ocean City, New Jersey. The bus was very clean and sanitized. The passengers were spaced out nicely throughout the bus and everyone cooperated by wearing their mask. Our tour guide and bus driver were both friendly and professional. Fantastic experience: We booked Thanksgiving Break bus service for my son traveling from Central New Jersey to Syracuse University. What a great option for local pickup/drop-off service instead of trekking to Newark Airport or NYC for transportation upstate. The folks at Starr displayed exemplary customer service and the buses were clean and new. My son had access to onboard WiFi and power outlets as well as restroom facilities. An additional plus was their tracking app which allowed parents to track where their students were located during the trip which helped gauge arrival times. Definitely will leverage Starr for future college break travel! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: We recently sent our son back to school at RPI using Starr Bus Charter and Tours. The weather was just awful and we were so grateful to be able to drive just a short distance to get him to the bus, instead of spending 7 hours round trip to get him back. He rode in comfort with outlets and WiFi, while I was able to track the bus the entire time. Despite the terrible conditions, they arrived safely right on time. I would definitely recommend this company for all of your travel needs.

Fantastic experience: We returned Sunday from another of Starr Bus Charter and Tour's trip. We have been on many over the last few years and the excellence this time was no exception. The 5 Day Mystery Tour ended up in Canton, OH. We rode on a 2019 Prevost bus with expanded leg room and as usual, our tour director was well organized and a wealth of knowledge regarding our path to Canton. Great motel, meals provided were over the top and the stops that were included kept us happily busy the whole time. Places like the NFL Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Stan Hywet (the Seiberling Mansion), Warthers Carving Museum to name a few are well worth seeing. Luckily, we are signed up for several more of their tours through the next year and will eagerly anticipate more adventures.

Fantastic experience: I have taken tours to Europe two times with Starr Tours, and both experiences have been fabulous. They think of everything. All you need to do is pack your suitcase. My very first cruise to Greece & Italy was made even more enjoyable because of the amazing Starr Tour guide, Angie Belmont.

Fantastic experience: Our recent trip to Niagara Falls and Toronto was well organized and professional, yet relaxed and fun. Debbie took our reservation and make the experience extra special. Our fellow tourists were very nice and our bus driver, John, was very competent. Our tour guide, Evy, is fantastic. She is one of the top tour guides we have had even on two-week European trips. The only challenging parts were picking up and dropping off with multiple stops. We look forward to future trips with Starr tours.

Fantastic experience: Our first Starr Tour was back in 1978 up to Niagara Falls. We were impressed than and still traveling with Starr. The last two years we travel with Starr to celebrate their 71st and 72nd birthday. . Talk about a good time we had a blast. There have been years that we had booked 2 to 3 trips a year. We now travel to different states in our beautiful country. This year we did Branson Missouri we may go back there that's how good of a trip it was. If you believe in leaving the driving to us book a trip with Starr Tours you won't regret it......

Fantastic experience: Debbie Raynock ~ Travel Advisor We have traveled with Starr multiple times and were fortunate enough to talk to Debbie for arrangements on the first tour. And now - I would not want to talk to anyone else!!! She always returns call quickly, has LOTS of information, and if she is unsure of an answer- will check and call back with the correct details. Her demeanor is professional - tempered with just the right amount of friendliness and humor. Thank you Debbie! Starr is SO LUCKY to have her on staff!!!!

Negative experience: I just completed a trip to Nashville and Memphis from Sept 6-12, 2019. The entire trip was poorly organized. There was only 1 dinner included in the price of this trip, vastly different than other trips I've been on where dinner is included for 90% of the nights. The single dinner included was at a dinner theater in a strip mall in Nashville and the food was very poor quality. The show was ok but the food was awful. The fried chicken was so dry it was inedible. Breakfast was at 630a every morning and the bus left at 730a. I didn't go on vacation to wake up at 530a every morning. Other tours I've been on leave in the morning at the more reasonable time of 830a. Top it off with tour guide with poor manners who knew very little about the area and a 79 year old bus driver who was always in a bad mood. All this for a price about $400 higher than comparable trips I've gone on with other companies.

Fantastic experience: Had a lovely 3-day Starr trip to Washington DC accompanied by my 11 year old grandson. Our guide was very helpful with our requests, happy to take pictures with your phone so you could document the experience. Our driver was an incredible font of knowledge about the area, extremely safe driving habits, kept us supplied with cold water and decorated the bus with new and interesting items each day to correspond to the places we'd be visiting. He even had appropriate music at each departure. For instance, when we left the bus at the Air Force Memorial, he had the music from "Top Gun" playing. When we left the bus for the FDR Memorial, he used that famous quote, "We have nothing to fear but fear itself". Definitely five Starr treatment!

Positive experience: Used to travel with you guys from 1997-2015 with my grandmother. I been to 25 states in that time and almost half of Canada. Love the drivers back then we were happy to be able to have traveled for this amount time especially with the drivers that been with you guys for 20 yrs or more. Wish some of the drivers were still there.. we love our Margie our advisor for the almost 20 yrs of traveling with you guys..

Fantastic experience: Saying this 27-day Cross-Country trip was a trip of a lifetime is really an understatement! Every day was really a new adventure and I, for one, was able to cross a number of items off of my personal bucket list (watching the movie Bucket List on the bus among them!). We had a small, intimate group of passengers; everyone got along splendidly and went out of their way to be kind and helpful to each other. Our tour director, Gene, and bus driver, Walt, went above and beyond each and every day to ensure things went smoothly and to see that we all got the most out of our adventure. This was my first experience with STARR Tours, but It certainly won't be the last. Everything from the initial registration to the final summary report couldn't have been easier or gone smoother or been more professional that it was. This trip certainly deserves more than 5 stars in my book!

Fantastic experience: I used Starr Bus Charter & Tours as a shuttle bus for a group of guests staying at the same hotel for my wedding day. The hotel was a bit far from the venue and so we needed a shuttle larger enough to accommodate all of our hotel guests in one trip. Starr was the best choice that fit our needs! Many of the Limo companies I contacted charged the same price as Starr for a bus half the size, and likely not as nice as the charter bus Starr provided. We ended up not filling the whole bus (which is so hard to predict when planning a wedding!), but our guests were very happy and comfortable. I personally did not have a chance to meet the driver, Reuben, but my guests were all happy! He was on time and waited to make sure everyone got on that was going to the wedding. Carolyn was great to work with in the office - she helped make setting up everything so easy, was quick to respond to all of my emails and questions, and provided me with any last minute details we needed for the day of. Highly recommend if you need to hire a charter bus!!

Fantastic experience: Taken quite a few trips with Starr Tours both one day and several days. Great company and nice to be able to go places without having to do the driving. Highly recommend them.
