Negative experience: AAA Roadside Assistance is the worst. Yesterday, I waited almost 5 hours for a AAA tow truck after my car broke down. Their process is to minimize your ability to talk to a live person. I’ve been a customer for 40 years. The larger company does not care about its customers. Maybe they will when they start to lose them. Member Relations never contacted me so they are a worthless organization.

Negative experience: Was able to make a same-day appointment for a nail in my tire. The rep barely examine the car and came back and said that my front two tires needed to be replaced, despite it being just a small patch. They tried to upsell me on all four tires, in which I said no, and went to my normal dealership to get a second opinion. My normal dealership ended up doing a quick patch and it is ready to go… Scummy location. Do not recommend. Save yourself the hustle and go somewhere else.

Negative experience: I gave this place another shot despite my previous experience. And wouldn’t you know, the same thing happens! The coolant/hot engine light came on this morning. A similar issue left me stuck on the side of the road with my son two hours from home a few months back. I wanted to quickly address it (even called out of work) and figured I would be able to get a AAA Member discount if I went here. Made the appointment around 730 am (same day) and they call two hours before my scheduled time and tell me they can’t actually get me in to be seen today. But i could come Tuesday (Monday you, it’s Friday). It immediately reminded me of the first experience with them—same experience different car problem. So now, it’s already the afternoon and I’m scrambling to have it looked at so I can pick up my son on time…and without breaking down on the side of the road again. Thank you for the false hope and making an even bigger headache in the midst of car troubles. So frustrating!

Negative experience: I have been going here to get routine oil changes for the last 2 years on a car I've had for 7 years and I didn't start having any problems with it until now. My car has broken down a few times over the last year and when AAA fixed it, I've had to come back to through warranty to get the same problem fixed. I will be going elsewhere for the foreseeable future where the mechanics communicate what the problem is clearly and if they can fix it not tear up my car.

Negative experience: Called AAA for a diagnostic appointment since I heard some loud metal rattling under my car. They found the source of the rattling but also listed 5 other areas of concern which included replacing my entire rear braking system (pads supposedly at 3mm) and a brake fluid flush. I couldn’t afford their cost for parts and labor so I deferred to my boyfriend who is more than qualified to complete a brake job. After ordering the parts and paying for rush shipping, he took the pads off only to find that they were barely worn at all (especially when comparing them to the new pads that just came in). The rotors and brake fluid also didn’t appear as worn/dirty as they originally indicated in the vehicle report. To say I’m disappointed in an understatement. Now I’m questioning if the repairs I did pay for were even necessary; maybe the “urgency” wasn’t really there at all. They would have gotten less than 2 stars if it wasn’t for their early appointment availability and the friendliness of the service advisors. It’s already difficult for people who aren’t mechanically inclined to get their cars looked at by the “professionals” without feeling like they’re being scammed, and now I’m even less inclined to return to a AAA again.

Fantastic experience: I had to take my Toyota Solara to be repaired yesterday after several things suddenly went wrong. Robert, the technician who worked on my car, was amazing throughout the process. He answered all of my questions and gave me honest advice about the future of my car, which I really appreciated. He also found something wrong with one of the airbag sensors that I had no idea existed for the 2 years I’ve had this car, and other technicians have worked on it at other places. This was an unfortunate situation but definitely made better by the great work and customer service here. I would highly recommend not just a Triple A membership, but this repair shop for non-members too!

Negative experience: Total scam! Warning don’t have AAA tow your car here. I had a flat tire & wanted to replace all 4 tires. I get 2 BUT not 4. Would not do only 2. When I got it towed elsewhere I had to pay! BTW - had car towed to dealership & they said getting 1 tire was fine!

Negative experience: 11.20.23: Worst experience ever. Disappointed. My car was towed to the Timonium site last Thursday. They said they could look at it on Friday. I hear from them today, Monday. I am told, that they need to replace a sensor in the car in order to continue to diagnose it. Replacing the sensor does not mean the car will work. The cost is $474. After speaking to a few mechanics about what I was told at AAA, I schedule for the car to be towed to another mechanic at 12 p.m. Pick up time is 2:20 p.m. I check in at 3 to see if the car is towed and am told the truck is running late. At 5:15 the tow truck driver finally calls. He tells me I need to have the garage leave my key out and that I need to pay for the tow. I let him know that I was told by 3 AAA representatives that I do not need to pay for the tow. Even when I received confirmation that I do not pay for the tow, the tow driver does not answer his phone, the garage closes 6:00 p.m. and another day without my car is on the books. Really feeling frustrated by AAA and the tow company, Fast Tow for running me around. The tow driver, who was supposedly waiting for me to call him back stopped answering his phone until 6:09 when it was too late. Tomorrow morning I need to get up and do the rat race all over again until I can get my car towed. Then...never again. I have been a AAA member for a long time. Time to reconsider. 11.21.23 This morning I scheduled my car to be towed again because the tow did not happen last night. There was NO record of yesterdays tow request. Then I get a message from David at AAA saying I need to have my car towed today or I will be charged a $35.00 fee or my car will be impounded. What the Hell, AAA??? I feel like I am in the twilight zone. No...AAA...I will not pay you $474 to continue to diagnose my car...and if YOUR TOW TRUCK SERVICE does not TOW my car and you impound my car...we are going to court.

Negative experience: Had my car towed there cause it was overheating, I pick it up the next morning and on the way home the oil pressure warning light came on so when I got home I checked the oil and there was none in it, the dip stick was bone dry... How do you service a vehicle, recommend work be done but never check the oil? What would have happen had my motor blow there or on my way home? How can I trust the work was done correctly? Maybe I'm wrong, but when I charge my customers $200 in labor, I provide service above and beyond expectations, which when suggesting other services you'd think that would include checking the oil.

Positive experience: Overall had a positive experience. Was in and out in 10 minutes. My only complaint is there was one employee who did not greet us upon entering the store, and instead purposely avoided eye contact and moved out of sight. She clearly did not want to help us. The other employees working were very friendly and professional. The space was very well organized/laid out, and clean!

Positive experience: I went to this office to do a foreign currency exchange. There are a great deal of rules associated with currency exchange that are not documented on AAA website, and should be. Especially limits on transaction size, which forced me to do a 2nd transaction with a bank.

The travel agent said he would email me ,when he did not I called him and then he said. He will call me back and he has not? It has been Five days since I have not heard from Hi M. Fantastic experience: My customer rep was wonderful. A comfortable environment. I was in and out for an International Driving Permit in less than 20 minutes. Passport pictures for it are free if you are a certain level of membership. Travel shop, travel agents/planning, life insurance, and a car repair facility available at this location.

Negative experience: Disorganized. Get a second opinion on any repairs they recommend. Edit: after getting a second diagnostic done at a different, non AAA shop, it has been confirmed that I was given misinformation from the Timonium AAA (I have it in writing). Do not trust advice given by Robert H. He was not only extremely unprofessional in his communication, he also gave me misinformation and I am now having to pay for HIS mistake and I am going to have to fight another towing fee through AAA member services. Pay attention to your work! You have a responsibility to the members of AAA to not lead them astray and cost them a bunch of unnecessary fees. Absolutely disgusted.

Negative experience: Everytime I've made an appt to bring my car here for service, they cancel it . This time, they sent me a text saying i canceled the appt, but i never did. Obviously, they have integrity issues here. I'm not sure why they aren't interested in servicing my vehicle because I've never had work done at this location. One time, i went into the location to schedule an appt. I was told they didn't have an appt for a couple of months. I had service done at the location that closed in towson. Negative experience: I love my AAA Roadside Assistance. I wish I could speak as highly about my local AAA Car Care Service Center. I made an appt online for service at noon today at this center. I received a confirmation of the appt, which included a Confirmation Number. When I arrived for my appt, I was informed by Chris W that their next appointment wasn't until 1:00 and it was not my name listed for that appointment time. I showed Chris my confirmation and asked if I was in the correct location. He replied, "This is the correct location, but all of my guys are on lunch break right now." He asked if I would like to schedule a "definite appointment." I replied, "I have a definite appointment for today at noon." He said, "I know, but it didn't come through; the online system is relatively new and can sometimes not work correctly." I'm not sure why that is the customer's problem. I rearranged my entire day to be there for my confirmed appointment. If they are aware that there are problems with their online system, perhaps they should disable it so other members do not waste their time. If this is their idea of customer service, I won't be back. I do not recommend this service center!

Negative experience: Had my car in for a Radiator Service. A week later it has leaked all of the fluid due to a stripped radiator plug. Service Manager claims that they only pump/suction the fluid out and don't drain it. Cost me near 1K to get a whole new radiator (different service station). How do you figure the radiator plug threading got stripped when no one but AAA touched it? They took no responsibility. I won't be back.

Positive experience: They were able to get the car fixed in 1 day. However,they were overpriced for a tire replacement. Unfortunately AAA gave my daughter bad advice as to where it had to be towed to on a Sunday. She should have had it towed to a tire place closer to home. Negative experience: The towing service here and for AAA has been amazing during my experience. But, the Car Care Staff and how they handle situations is unacceptable. I was told that I had to move my car so that they could use the spaces. It was unacceptable and to give your customers a scare tactic was unprofessional. I will not be recommending anyone do service here again. AAA itself has been alright during my incident, but the service at the Car Care Center has been unprofessional and untimely. I myself had to call them to ask about my car, when I should have gotten a phone call from them. I do not recommend this Car Care Center.

Fantastic experience: For years my grandfather always informed me to make sure I have a AAA card in my wallet. Just recently I join the AAA family, yes finally. The same day enrolling, I had to call the AAA office in Timonium. I spoke with George and he basically answered everything I needed to know without asking him, professionally. Immediately I felt like I was part of the AAA family. I actually was about to tow one of my vehicles to a shop that day. It was much more smarter for me to pay for a year enrollment and be covered all year long then just using the service for that one day. Fantastic experience: I was visiting the area and got a flat tire. I called AAA and was told I should get service at my location within 75 minutes. A very nice man named Johan arrived and removed the flat tire and installed the spare all within 27 minutes of my initial call. Johan was very nice. He made sure my spare was properly inflated and cautioned me to drive at a particular speed to make sure I got home safely. Thanks for prompt and pleasant service.

Fantastic experience: AAA it's a great company it's a great service center they've great employees. It's just such an awkward odd customer entrance to the store you park there's no signage to get in. You see a door but you can't use it as a customer. There's this weird sidewalk and railing like you're walking onto someone's personal deck and there's the entrance facing York Road but you parked your car in the side parking lot and had to look around to figure out what you do to get in. It's as if the architect went away on summer vacation and completely forgot about the customer experience of entering the store. Odd and so non customer experience oriented.

Fantastic experience: Picked up travel books for trip to New Hampshire. While at the Lutherville office, I was assisted by Ryan McDowell who put a trip tik together for me for our visit in Jaffrey, New Hampshire and a trip to Mount Washington in North Conway. He was able to plot out a route that allowed us to avoid the George Washington Bridge in the heart of New York City. Going over the Cuomo Bridge (Tappan Zee) was a much better route.

Negative experience: I went in to get my tire fixed and an oil change. I picked up my car yesterday. They removed my radiator cap for whatever reason and never put it back on. My car overheated and died. I don’t trust that my oil change was done correctly (or at all) Someone had to go out of their way to do this bad of a job.

Positive experience: I have been a AAA member for a very very long time and love their discounts and all the perks about being a AAA member. This review is only about this Timonium location of the AAA office. I have used the AAA car care for all the servicing needs for my car. This center always provides quick and reliable service. What I like about the servicing with AAA is the warranty and comfort knowing that the servicing is done at AAA. But I do some times feel that they unreasonably do charge separate labor costs for different services. I would think that the labor costs should be all inclusive when you take your car to a garage. But here they do have separate labor costs for separate services. For example if you have to get oil change and then they also recommend a cabin air filter change then they have separate labor costs for both services. Changing a cabin air filter is more expensive that the cost of the cabin air filter itself. I agree and trust that the parts are all genuine and backed by the best AAA warranty but it’s weird that some times labor cost is more than the product itself. But being a AAA premier member has its perks too. Like, you can get free passport photos anytime you need them. Also you can get Notary services at this location although I would recommend going to any UPS store for Notary rather than going to this AAA office. It’s much easier and quicker at the UPS stores for notary. Next, I do like the car insurance and home owner’s insurance from AAA. It’s cheap. Overall, in summary, I like AAA as a whole but I have mixed feelings about this specific location in Timonium. (Edit: Robert from this AAA office called to address my concerns and explained to me how different parts can have different labor intensive work and hence the different charges. I understand the labor costs differences. I appreciate their quick response.)

Fantastic experience: AAA Timonium is excellent Car Care Center. I been with them for last 3years. My car runs great and when it doesn't AAA help to get it back in tip top shape. It is a little pricey sometimes but it is 100% worth the pay with the high quality of work. The staff is all welcoming and the mechanics will assist you with any questions about your repairs. I will continue to be a return customer

Fantastic experience: I just had an extremely pleasant automobile service experience at the AAA Automobile Service Center on York Road in Timonium, MD. Not only was the cost for my oil change using a synthetic oil blend extremely reasonable, it also included a fee safety check of my vehicle, including brakes, as well as a four wheel rotation. In addition, as a AAA Member, I also received a total check on my battery’s condition, as well as my vehicle’s entire charging system operation, also at no cost! Chris, the Automotive Service Manager was totally Professional in reviewing and explaining all the results the check of my vehicle’s safety and electrical system. He was extremely patient in answering all of my questions throughly, and even taught me an important lesion about my vehicle’s charging system operation. Chris is a real asset to the AAA organization, as well as being a great person to deal with!!

Negative experience: Came in for an oil change and was told I needed a battery replacement. Went ahead and got that also but, after receiving my car back the windshield washer fluid was still empty even though it was “checked off” as completed on my paperwork. I went back in to ask if they could refill it and it took them a few minutes to come outside to do it. No apology or interest in the oversight. I won’t go back to this location since I can't trust that what I pay for or what gets documented is what I am actually receiving.

I purchased the Premier covrage which also allowed me to add my son in law whos married to my daughter as a 2nd free membership.. Positive experience: They gave me a hard time (Robert) about if I had an appointment or not. He spoke to me as if I was lying about what someone told me over the phone. Anyway, the service was quick and I like the person who works on my car. It cost me 62 dollars to take two minutes to change a signal light bulb. I only come to AAA because the dealership would cost more so I suppose I should be happy about the 62 dollars. I’m getting there.

Positive experience: It's been my experience AAA Car Center is an honest, fair priced place to get my cars worked on. The mechanics are top notch and know how to work on nice foreign cars as well as old American made wrecks that you are trying to keep on the road. I've taken both types there and they've been straight with me. I used to go to a local shop and the price difference wasn't much. I feel safer having AAA working on my cars.

Fantastic experience: Stopped by the AAA office in Timonium to pick up a few maps for a camping trip. When I walked through the door I was greeted by a smiling young man who asked if he could be of assistance. He escorted my husband and myself to his service desk and plotted our trip on his computer step by step and a few minutes later he presented us with a print out of our trip in a binder. He was so helpful and took the time to explain some of the benefits of our AAA membership that we were not aware of. This office offers a wide selection of items to make traveling more comfortable. They have travel cases of all kinds too. I enjoyed looking at the back wall of travel aids. I highly recommend this office to anyone who wants to plan the perfect trip.
