Negative experience: Anyone who uses AAA Northeast and their agent will be very disappointed. What is promised is not what you’ll get. And don’t let them talk you into buying their trip insurance, it’s useless. There are no bargains or savings here, only lies and deception.

Negative experience: Do not go here for a permit. We waited over 5 months for one to come in the mail after passing the test. Multiple workers saying the last person lied and did it wrong. After 3 trips here, ended up getting the RMV to step in and make this location do their job. Don’t waste your time

Negative experience: I trusted that when I explained to the insurance agent (( Paul )) that my work included food delivery services that they would have known that MA has specific requirements as to the type of insurance that Ride Share (( includes food delivery )) contractors need for their vehicle. They were absolutely CLUELESS and gave me a standard car insurance policy - which DID NOT COVER MY VEHICLE AT ALL while I was working. I found this all out when I was in an accident in my brand new car. Fortunately I was NOT on the clock at the time of the accident as the insurance company ((Mapfre)) explained that if I had been - they would NOT have paid any of the SIXTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS in damages to my car. AAA's complete ignorance of MASSACHUSETTS specific insurance regulations for Ride Share almost cost me $16,000 and my livelihood. Way to go Paul - great job

I'm not sure why some of the Google reviews are negative because I was in and out in about 4-5 minutes with my temporary print-out of my new license/REAL ID. There was only 1 person finishing up in front of me, and, overall, I am very pleased with the efficiency and speed of the Acton AAA which is conveniently located in Acton down the street from my home. Negative experience: I went to AAA Acton to renew my license when I turned 21. I called prior to my appointment to ask for the correct documents to obtain a REAL ID. I specifically told them that I had my W2 form from 2021 not 2022 as I was coming directly from my college for my appointment and my 2022 form was at my house. They said that I could have a W2 from ANY year as proof of address. I got there for my appointment and waited 20 minutes for the lady in front of me to finish. While I was waiting one employee took my forms and said I was all set. It wasn’t until after I waited 20 minutes that I was told by the next employee that I needed my most recent W2 form AFTER the first employee said I was all set (which I had called and asked about the day before and was told it did not matter what year) had I known this from the first employee I could have gone home and got it and came back in the time it took for my delayed appointment. They proceeded to lock up on me since they were closing and not 1 person tried to help. I had to come back the following day to finish my registration. Fast forward to receiving my license… my picture is blurry, the blue background box is a different color and size than all of the other ID’a I have compared it to and it has been questioned multiple places. Overall not pleased with the experience or the ID I payed $50 for.

Positive experience: Setup needs improvement. I walked in at 1:55pm & went to the obvious waiting area for “Registry Services” since I had an appt. No one said anything to me when I walked in so I sat in a waiting chair on the Registry Services side. Then after 15 min. I was told I needed to check in on the opposite “Membership Services” side of the desk, where it said “travel, insurance, maps” which made no sense. Apparently I (& some others, as I later observed) didn’t see a minuscule “check-in here for all services” sign sitting on a rope divider pole. PLEASE PUT A LARGER MORE OBVIOUS SIGN DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE DOOR WHEN YOU ENTER! Not everyone is familiar with the place so it needs to be clearer. Although all my paperwork was ready & I walked in ahead of 2 other gentleman, one crabby man was miffed they called me before him, b/c I had “just” checked in. It was 2:25 by then, so I said sorry sir I had a 2pm appt. Thankfully there was a super nice man working the Registry Services side who was very helpful & processed my Real ID quickly & efficiently - thank you!! I made my appt. several weeks in advance & needed to return to work asap. If this AAA office improved the incoming flow logic & signage it would be 4-5 stars.

Negative experience: Went to this site for REAL ID License renewal. The clerk at the front has a callous attitude, trying very hard to deter my effort. There is nothing wrong that she tried to check every piece of document. The issue is the attitude and the way of communicating with clients, such as words like "if you do not have this piece document, then you have to come back for another trip."

Negative experience: Every time I’ve ever set foot in this branch, their computers are down or their internet connection is down or their connection with the ‘main office’ is broken and they cannot complete transactions. It creates waits and lines and it’s really disappointing. Very nice employees, very positive and helpful, but I find it irresponsible that they have these problems every time I come in (typically every 9 months or so).

Fantastic experience: AAA Acton registry services was a no hassel experience today. Shilpa guided us thru the process and was patient with us when we had to scramble for an additional document. Negative experience: Day 1.. went to get my license renewed. Power goes out. Wait 2 hrs, no power so i reschedule for today. Day 2..arrive on time...no power. They didn't call me or anything. Just told me to reschedule. Called management and they are going to deal with it now. So annoyed. Very unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: I had my license renewed here today and it was an altogether pleasant expirence. The woman helping me was friendly and informative. The wait to be serviced was minimal. AAA will do standard licenses as well as Real ID. If you are going to have your Real ID done, you'll need all of your information printed out for them to scan. Pulling up an image on your cellphone WILL NOT suffice.

Negative experience: I had car insurance through AAA and without my knowledge they cancelled my insurance. I got a letter in the mail from the RMV saying I can’t drive me vehicle and I now have to pay a reinstatement fee for my registration. I never received anything from AAA or commerce saying my insurance was cancelled or their was a problem with you account, thank you for nothing.

Fantastic experience: This place is a huge improvement over a few years ago. Extremely professional and courteous. Years ago, it was not that way, but it is now. Just got my license renewed there and was treated very well. I would not hesitate to do business with them again.

Negative experience: I have been on the phone for 2.5 hours waiting to speak with someone. Thankfully i've been able to multitask. I am not sure why after such a long time I have not been assisted by an agent. Are there non available in your office for that length of time? I could have someone call me back but how am I supposed to know when that would be? You would think staying on the phone would be the quicker option? I would hope there is a legitimate reason for this dilemma. I just wanted to know if I could get the CURRENT valid licence renewed NOT the REAL version. That's all.
Negative experience: Tried to call several times but the call keeps getting dropped. Umm is it bc I was 15 mins. from closing time? So I try a different option but get the same message that "Due to unusually high call volume"......you know the rest. So I guess that's their standard message! After waiting on the phone for an eternity I left a message to supposedly have someone call me back.... yeah right! Update! In fairness, they DID call me back, but I missed the call so not much help. So, I went there to ask a really quick question, and was noticed but totally ignored in line (first and only in line with one person being helped by a lady) for ages until I decided that I should just go over and ask Van the question. I think he was in between calls. Hence, not much help and just plain rude to not at least acknowledge a customer, even if they have to wait.

Negative experience: This is the most disorganized place I've ever had to deal with. I was checked in with all my paper work, sat and waited at the registry for 45 minutes, so they could tell me that I needed to speak with insurance, I waited another 36 minutes to see ins so they could stamp a page.... in the 45 minutes that I sat waiting the first time I could have been doing the insurance. So, by the time I was done it was just under 3 hours to transfer plates from one car to the other The response I recorded went I brought it up was "oh sorry, I didn't see that part. This place is a joke.... no one know what they're doing I'll never come here again..

Negative experience: What. A. Nightmare. I went to renew my license today, and wanted to apply for a REAL ID. I brought the RMV's checklist of items they required, and ALL of the necessary items. As soon as I got to the clerk (not sure of her name, but she was a heavyset woman with an accent), I was told that because my passport had my maiden name, they could not process the request for a REAL ID. I showed her the check list DIRECTLY from the RMV, that said that if I furnished proof of name change - i.e. my marriage certificate, which I had with me - they could accept my passport even if the names didn't match. She continued to insist that this was unacceptable. Then she asked a woman named Maureen Baker, who insisted the same. I made several attempts to read them the info from the RMV checklist, but both women spoke over me, refused to call the RMV to double check (per my request), and wouldn't even give me the courtesy of eye contact. I was told to go to Leominster if I wanted further help. Finally, I gave up and said I'd just renew my regular license. Thankfully, that sent me to a lovely gentleman named Van Koo, who clearly understands that customer service means actually doing something for your customer. He offered, without provocation, to call the RMV and find out for sure if I had brought enough to get my REAL ID. Meanwhile, Maureen Baker came over to ask him what was going on, still refused to acknowledge me or look me in the eye, and told him that while he was free to call the RMV, if he accepted my paperwork, it was his name on the line, not hers. SURE ENOUGH, the RMV told Mr. Koo that my paperwork was ABSOLUTELY acceptable. Maureen Baker heard this, and didn't say a thing - not a mea culpa, not an apology, nothing. She essentially shrugged and walked away. This kind of customer treatment is unacceptable and Maureen Baker (and the other woman, whose name I wish I'd gotten) should not be employed in a customer service position. Not only does she not have the temperment for it, she doesn't have basic courtesy or the ability to admit she's wrong. I know of someone else who had a terrible experience with this AAA office (as did several other people in line behind me). We members do not pay for AAA membership just to be treated this terribly. Does corporate even read these reviews??? There are numerous terrible reviews before mine, at least one of which mentions Maureen Baker by name. WHY IS SHE STILL THERE?! I will be escalating this issue, because this is completely unbelievable. This is a paid service and your employees should not behave as though we - the paying customers - are infringing on their time by showing up with work for them to do. Additionally, customer service employees need to be able to admit when they've made a mistake and apologize accordingly. Maureen Baker is rude, dismissive, and has no business being a representative of any company.
Negative experience: Acton AAA office is so inefficient. I was the second in the line when I got there, but waited an hour for getting a couple of maps. Don't understand why it took that long for them to handle each customer's request! Also they should have two lines, one for quick service, such as getting maps, and another for slow service, such as renewing licenses.
Negative experience: Went in for information about DC and possible tix to attractions. Was dismissed in 2 seconds after waiting in line for 20 minutes that they didn’t have that. Was not told to check out the website or anything...ended up buying discount tix through the website. Don’t bother visiting the store...they act like they can’t be bothered with you anyway. Looking into a Hawaii and Israel trip...definitely will not be checking with AAA.
Negative experience: I recently signed up for AAA in part for the convenience of not having to go to the RMV. Upon arrival I worked with a couple employees such as Van Koo and Alice Chisholm and had a good experience. Unfortunately the other employee Maureen Baker who I had to work with was absolutely awful. I was treated poorly, given attitude, and had to deal with the constant huffing and puffing because “she clearly did not want to be there”. I work in the retail environment in management and I nor my employees would continue to be employed there with how poor the customer service was from this employee. And then the camera system went down and I was unable to take the eye test. So they had to send me to a new location. Only at this point did Maureen become friendly - which correlated with the fact that all five people waiting for license renewal were told to try another location or come back another day. Makes me wonder why I would sign up for AAA when I would get better service at the RMV.
Fantastic experience: IN and OUT in 12 minutes with my new real ID driver's license. I'm never going to the RMV again.
Negative experience: Came in to replace a lost license. Had our paperwork checked to make sure we had all the right stuff. Waited 45 minutes, finally got up to take a picture and was 99% done when they said we needed one more proof of address. Left, got the proof. Came back and were told we need to wait again. I understand it’s an inconvenience to other people waiting to put us back at the front of the line, but it was their mistake to begin with. It’s also insane that they have 6 people working here, but only one person doing RMV transactions. The rest of the employees are sitting around doing nothing. Well that’s not true, one of them yelled at an elderly gentleman because she made him fill out the wrong form. Another customer had to step in and help this man. Not sure who runs this place, but it’s a disaster. You’ll be better off going to the RMV than this place. Let that sink in for a minute.
Fantastic experience: The AAA in Acton is amazing!!! The people working there were so helpful. I will definitely use them again. I would much rather spend 10 minutes with people smiling at me than at the RMV after having been there for hours. Being a AAA member is money well spent. Thank you ladies for a great experience.
Negative experience: Do not do any Registry associated claims .they are useless and you will be wasting your time .was there for 2.5 hours on line .two people got sick of waiting and left. a senior made some negative comments about the waiting and was told to go to lowel if he want to, very incompetent people not knowing how to use the Registry software .after 2.5 hours of waiting on line .their excuse was the system is down at the RVM registry and had to stop serving people. any idiot knows that the online registry is available 24/7 and does not shutdown. a customer kept on telling the lady that the registry profile on the screen was not hers. her answer was ohh!!! we need to change it. bottom line is she had not clue and possibly messed up a couple of peoples profiles within the applications on line. stay away .plus after this experience I have decided to not renew my AAA membership. of $180 a year.that I have been a member for 10 years

All the materials we wanted were available and the day before we leave we are to pick up the route map with the most up to date construction project information. Fantastic experience: My daughter recently traveled to China. We got the required photo for her Chinese visa within minutes, and free of charge. And when it came to getting her some yuan for her trip, we had it within 24 hours of ordering it - in far less time than we had been led to expect. A very satisfying experience.
Negative experience: My husband and I visited the Acton branch to get directions for a road trip down south to Nashville and North Carolina at the beginning of this month. The woman who assisted us at that time said that she would prepare a trip tych and provide us with information on hotels and to return the week of our trip for the information. I came into the the AAA office today, the day before our trip and NOBODY had any information on us or on our trip. I found that very hard to believe and simply inexcusable since the woman who assisted us a few weeks ago took down my husband's AAA account number. This office is right up the street from my house, but I will think twice and perhaps go elsewhere the next time I need AAA information.
