Negative experience: If I could have given zero stars, I would have. The entire experience was a nightmare. My daughters drove 10 hours from Florida and arrived at the rental cabin very late at night. Much to their surprise and shock, as they tried to get in, someone on the inside of the cabin opened the door. The cabin was already occupied. They then called me in Florida to tell me what was happening. I was horrified for them. The rest of the family was scheduled to join them in two days after their arrival. It took me over an hour to get someone from the rental office to call me back. Long story short, the rental office messed up our dates. Apparently, they double booked the cabin.There were no other cabins available. It was December. They could only suggest I call other places. I called them and nobody had availability. My daughters had to drive to Ashville to get accommodations. It was 4:00 am when they finally arrived at a hotel. To make matters worse, the rental office denied any and all accountability for this event. I had my confirmation emails and everything. We had the cabin code to get in which they emailed to me days before. I called the rental office numerous times to get a resolution.The office manager was awful! She would not REFUND me any money. I called repeatedly and was told that she was not in. This negative event ruined our entire Christmas break. One of my daughters was visiting from Germany and we do not get to see her often. The rest of the family who were supposed to join, canceled their plans. This mess cost us a small fortune. Our entire Christmas break was ruined. I have nothing good to say about Carolina Mountain Vacations Management Company. They do not deserve any business!! Do not book with them!! Edit: The company posted a reply stating that they have no record of this reservation or of my name on file. The reservation was not in my name . It was under my daughters name. Enough said

Fantastic experience: We have rented through CMV three times and have had excellent experiences each time. Very easy to work with and handled renting a cabin, as soon as NC restrictions were relaxed, seamlessly. We will certainly be back!!

Positive experience: “Above it All” is a beautiful cabin with a gorgeous view. The bedrooms and bathrooms are adequate, but the beds are all extremely firm to the point of uncomfortable for most. The kitchen and living space is really open and nice for gathering with friends and family. Outdoor space is simple and peaceful. Unfortunately we lost power the last night into morning and it never came back before we checked out. This meant no wifi and no cell service to notify the agency. This also means no A/C all night and no showers or water use for a long time. We were told a tree was down causing outages in the area, but based on reviews, that appears to be a frequent occurrence or explanation. I could hear other cabin generators and it sounds like this cabin should have one too if they are hosting so many customers. Overall it was a great place but too pricy to justify a whole night without power/water or backup. We were not offered anything for that inconvenience.

Fantastic experience: Update - I just returned from my 4th (maybe 5th) stay with Carolina Mountain Vacations. Once again, the cabin was very nice, clean, and comfortable. I'd also like to say that CMV did an even better job this time in terms of customer service. I had clear directions to the cabin and instructions on the check in/check out process. Thanks to CMV for another fantastic trip to the Bryson City area! I've rented several cabins from CMV over the past seven years. Everything has always been clean and comfortable!

Fantastic experience: Had a wonderful time spending our 19th anniversary at the “Tyme to Remember” cabin. Mostly secluded with a beautiful mountain view. The cabin was very clean. Plenty of towels and bedding to get us through the week. Easy access from very close by Bryson City. Neighbors were close enough to hear them. But still very private. When we arrived at the office around 2pm, we were greeted with a warm welcome. And told we were able to go right to the cabin. We were also able to stay one more night at a very reasonable price. For the 5 night stay, it was still under $1,000.00. The wife and I are disabled, so we were able to access the cabin with ease. We were also able to go to the nearby “Dry Falls” accessable with stairs and walk ways. Small falls, but very nice.Thank you Carolina Mountains for this wonderful vacation experience.

Fantastic experience: Rented a cabin near Bryson City from Carolina Mountain Vacations and man was this place beautiful! Communication was timely and clear. Cabin was clean and had all amenities listed in their email. We loved it so much we are planning on coming back next year! Update: We went back to the same cabin a year later and everything is still wonderful. I love having a local company to help us with our vacation lodging. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: I stayed at a property “ABOVE IT ALL” hosted on Airbnb by Carolina mountain vacation. Well the day we arrived the rental had no power. I spent that first night without heat, running water, food, nor electricity. It was miserable. The company called and let me know eta for restoring the power was around 9pm but that didn’t happen. After 9 pm there was no further communication from the company. My partner and I were freezing through the night trying our best to bundle up. Pitch black. No clue when power would be back. No offer to provide flash lights, candles, nothing. A little after 2am is when the power was restored. I showed empathy towards the company but none was shown towards me for such a horrible first night experience. Wouldn’t recommend this company due to their lack of empathy and understanding of my experience at their property.

The power outage was indeed an unforeseen event caused by a tree falling on power lines in the area, affecting over 350+ people in the area including several other guests who were staying with us. Throughout the outage, we remained committed to ensuring your safety along with all of our other guests who were impacted. We always take proactive measures to keep everyone informed any time circumstances arise that may impact our guests experience, and we promptly informed all affected guests about the outage while also providing updates regarding anticipated restoration times as the repairs progressed.

We care deeply about our guest’s safety and satisfaction, and we take pride in our commitment to addressing any challenges our guests may encounter. Contrary to the suggestion in your review, we would never leave any guest to fend for themselves, especially during unforeseen circumstances such as a power outage. Negative experience: Edit in response: Given the behavior and language that came from your technician I find extremely hard to believe this has never been displayed before. Possibly not reported or just overlooked and/or ignored. If it was not illegal to record someone without their knowledge I would have recorded him. My family can fully vouch for his behavior and language. Also we could not even enjoy the top floor due to the temperature being so low from the draft because someone did a terrible job sealing it. I am guessing probably the same technician. Before I even begin, several of the responses that CMV gives towards low reviews seem very repudiated and moot. Honestly, the property and another lady I spoke with at the office, saved this from being a one star review. We recently stayed at the Above The Clouds property managed by this group. It was booked through another online vacation rental company that this business is the host for the property. We called a couple of hours before check in time and were told we could not check in due to cleaning and maintenance of house, completely understandable and was no problem. Checked in at appropriate check-in time and maintenance personnel drove in behind us at the property to what appeared to be emptying the trash can. He immediately exited his vehicle saying expletives as to how he hated his job. We entered the house and did our initial inspection only to find a window that had been completely broken, glass still on second story roof, with a big sheet of plywood and duct tape covering the opening with gaps still evident allowing elements and pests to enter. Called host company and they were aware of window. I am not sure why we were not made aware of this before check-in since it was a pretty significant issue. They did explain a replacement window had to be ordered, however the sealing of gaps could have been done much better. We then figured out maintenance personnel had not even performed the pre-check-in maintenance duties, and spent the next two hours using expletives, slamming things around, and then ultimately using expletives and degrading remarks towards my family. I attempted to confront the maintenance worker and even offer to help, however I must have become invisible because he would not respond to questions and practically walked through me. One could assume based on his actions that due to this being a Friday night, he was having a tantrum because he had to work late.He was completely unprofessional in his actions and language. All this was reported to personnel and assistant General Manager at hosting company and I was told the only thing they could do was offer a 15% refund on our week-long stay, address the situation with maintenance personnel, and report to General Manager. The demeanor and the responses of the assistant GM seemed very programmed and condescending the couple of times I had to speak with her. Due to this happening the first night of check-in, it set an unsettling precedent over the entire week and made for a less enjoyable experience for our family’s Christmas getaway.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We are always sincere when we say we care about our guest’s experiences, and we apologize if our previous responses made you feel as though we do not. We totally agree that you should have been called to be notified about the window being broken before you arrived for your visit, and we are so sorry that did not happen. The window was accidently broken by the guest preceding your reservation and we did our best to get it replaced as soon as possible. Although the replacement window was ordered immediately after the incident happened, we were still left waiting for it to arrive to be repaired. It was just the one window by the pool table that broke, so we did board and tape up the window in the meantime, to allow us to be able to still accommodate the reservations staying at the cabin before the replacement arrived. Regarding your interaction with our Maintenance Technician at the cabin, we absolutely take that type of behavior very seriously concerning our entire staff. The technician who was assigned your cabin has been with our company for some time now and we have never had any complaints regarding his conduct. The lack of professionalism and the language you are describing is not acceptable in any capacity and we want to assure you that we do not take that type of conduct lightly. Positive experience: Four of us (two couples) stayed at the Fontana Lake View house the week of Oct. 23-27. The view was fantastic and the house was very clean and comfortable. It was very private and quiet. The access road was very narrow and curvy, and steep in the last quarter mile or so, but that was part of the adventure. It's a bout 30 minutes drive to Bryson City. Pros: View, cleanliness, remoteness, quiet. private. Cons: No internet (even though it is shown as an amenity on the website). Refrigerator did not cool properly, nor did the icemaker work. There were 4 of us, and upon arrival, we noted one of the porch rockers was broken. We notified the office, and someone came quickly and took the chair away, but never was replaced, leaving us with 4 people but only 3 porch chairs to sit in. Closet space was almost nil. Only one closet in one bedroom, and it was full of other stuff. Even with these things, it was still a great place to enjoy the NC mountains and great views. We would stay again.

Fantastic experience: We've stayed with Carolina Mountain Vacations a few times.. We love doing business with these people.. We have never had a issue with billing or getting things to the cabin before we arrive ( my wife's had a couple 2 liters left in the fridge so they were cold, or my wife's flower and champagne they had at the cabin waiting for our Anniversary.. The cabins have always been clean and ready to go, I've had to have maintenance before absolutely no problem got someone up the next day to fix the problem.. Just an all around great experience each and every time... We'll be back fall of 2024.. Thank you guys for always giving a great experience

Fantastic experience: Our reason for returning to Carolina Mountain Vacations is the service and properties. This was our 2nd stay ( this time Blackberry Hideaway) . Property was great, very homey and comfortable, view awesome, but the service provided by Carolina Mountain Vacations is 5 STAR !! We got lost finding property ( GPS in mountains is not recommended) and immediately got help from Lee ( on call service director). Lee showed up immediately when we had question about the grill. Stephanie was beyond helpful and pleasant at the office. When we were in process of booking, she couldn’t have been more kind. The 2 properties we’ve stayed at were clean and well maintained! I highly recommend Carolina Mountain Vacations!

Negative experience: Beware!! My family contracted legionnaires pneumonia while vacationing at the Little Bear Chalet cabin in April. My husband was in ICU for 15 days on a breathing machine!! We attempted to contact them immediately once we found out the diagnosis so that they could take action before others got sick. Carolina Mountain Vacations refused to take our calls and would not even respond to the local health department. Shameful!! Do not recommend any of their cabins as it’s obvious that routine maintenance is not done as required.

We are sorry to hear that your husband and your family for went through such an experience. We in no way want to diminish your encounter, but we respectfully must disagree with your review portrayal of our company and do not believe you picked up the bacteria at the Little Bear chalet for several reasons. Our hot tubs are cleaned regularly and the pH levels as well as the bromine levels are checked both before and after each reservation to ensure the hot tub water is properly maintained. We also clean and sanitize our indoor jacuzzi bathtubs between each visit as well. We have been renting cabins for 20+ years and have never had something like this reported. The Little Bear Chalet is on a shared water system with the entire neighborhood community and there have been no other reports of the legionnaires bacteria neither before nor after your visit.

It was the health department that first notified us of the allegation just a few weeks ago, which was months after your actual visit. They did not disclose to us any information regarding with whom the incident occurred and since we were contacted, we have been working alongside them vigorously and have done everything that was asked of us with urgency as we would never want to put any of our guest’s health or safety at risk. We want to reiterate that we always take the safety of our guests very seriously and if you would have reached out to us after your visit, we absolutely would have taken every precaution to ensure that this was treated and prevented any further risks to future guests.

Negative experience: Edit-My name isn't in their reservation system because my boyfriend booked it. We booked what looked like a great cabin and when they had to cancel last minute, they refused to provide a similar cabin without upcharging us. Terrible customer service and they turned what would have been repeat customers into never again customers.

Positive experience: We rented the Mountain Hideaway in Bryson City. The cabin was cute and the view of the mountains was beautiful!! The cabin was very clean! The main complaint was the bed...it was horrible!!! Did not sleep well because the bed was so worn out. The road to the cabin is a little sketchy and steep, but that is to be expected in the mountains, just be prepared for that. There is a very sharp turn right before you get to the cabin. Also we were contacted by the company that our cabin would not be ready until an hour after the 4:00 check in. There was a lot of little touches that they could do to make the cabin better, but I can look over those. The main thing is the bed...horrible...just horrible!!

Negative experience: Safety issues! We stayed at the Lazy Bear cabin. Firstly, there is false advertising. The address for the office is given in the email, but it is not disclosed that the actual cabin is 30 minutes away, up a steep gravel road. The road is very dangerous and there are many large potholes, making it very easy to get stuck or end up with a tipped over car. Additionally, no matter how many times you call maintenance, they either don’t answer or don’t come at all, simply saying they cannot fix the problem. For example, during our 5 day stay, there wasn’t even one minute of internet connection. The phone landlines don’t work at all either.

Thank you for your review. We have to adamantly contest your accusation of ‘false advertisement’. We are a property management company with rentals located all around Bryson City and the surrounding area. Our office address has never been misinterpreted as being one of our cabin addresses, so we apologize for your confusion. The listing description specifically says that the cabin is located about 30 minutes outside of Bryson City. We also understand that mountain roads can be intimidating which is why we clearly state in the cabin details that the road to the property does require 4WD with areas comprised of loose gravel and sharp switchbacks. The cabin does not have internet which is why you were not able to get an internet connection. Lazy Bear is not advertised as having internet and there is no internet service provided there.

Fantastic experience: Our contact at C.M.V., Stephanie, was professional and kind. The home (BlackBerry Hideaway) is comfortably furnished. Relaxation in bed or on the couch was a given. The deck furniture was furnished with Adirondack chairs, gas fire pit, table/chairs for meals. The gas grill was an added bonus to allow for a relaxing dinner on the deck. We will return- without a doubt.

Fantastic experience: Our cabin (Carolina Dreamin) had an incredible view. Everything we needed was right there. We had plans to go to town and explore, but didn’t want to leave the property. It exceeded my expectations! The drive was a little scary, but was totally worth it. My party of 12 enjoyed every minute! I never write reviews but felt compelled to bc our stay was perfect!

Negative experience: Ease of reservation was smooth and effective. We had a 5 day reservation for Appalachian Escape. Ended up checking out after 3 days. Cabin was extremely uncomfortable. Sofa was filthy and chair totally uncomfortable. Nice amenities but make sure to bring salt and pepper. TV is antiquated. I do not recommend this cabin if you value comfort and if TV is important. Did not get our value at all.

Fantastic experience: We have used Carolina Mountain Vacations several times and they do not disappoint. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We have stayed at several different cabins over the years and they have always met or exceeded expectations. We will continue to use them anytime we stay in the area.

Negative experience: We rented meadow creek manor it was not up to par at all. Needs some attention when being cleaned!!! Dead bugs behind bed in master bed room. Sheets on bed were stained. Internet worked only 45 percent of the time, few doors needs attention, no tvs in up stair bed rooms, screens broken on screened in area. Electrical sockets arcing in one bed room. Hot tub jets not working properly and lots on light bulbs not working. The whole experience was not good and will not be staying with them in the future. For what we were charged it was unexceptable!

Negative experience: House stunk of mold. Hot tub started leaking mid-visit and had to be shut off. Customer service=0 stars. The contract awaiting our signature belonged to SOMEONE ELSE. There was no privacy; the driveway was a turn-around spot for local traffic. And Carolina Mountain Vacations has failed/refused to respond to any of our 3 emails in the month since our "vacation." Facts are facts.

Fantastic experience: Eagle's Nest Lodge was a wonderfully accommodating space for our crew. Couples enjoyed the privacy of the suites and the kids loved the bunk room. The evening views from the west deck were absolutely stunning--we spent much time there family-izing. We were relatively close to everything we wanted--hiking, kayaking and other water venues, {the teenagers went thrifting}. The young kids learned how to play poker at the poker table. Our only real reservation was with the hot-tub which had not been serviced due to storm-outages; then, after it was serviced, it never got back up to 'hot' so we only had two days. We'll probably return there for some future vacation.

Positive experience: Manataka was very nice. Everything was as stated in the online article and various emails. I would have given 5 stars but on arrival day we got to tha cabin a couple hours early and called to see if we could check in early, the person that answered the phone acted like I was bothering her and said no it hadn't been cleaned yet so we sat in our car in the driveway for two hours and waited. No one came to clean so at four o'clock we entered and it was clean. I then did the check in call and got a different person and she was extremely nice.

Negative experience: A 1 star review is making this company look excellent!! I booked a trip for October sky for our 10 year anniversary before the pandemic shortly after everything fully shut down right before our trip so I contacted management and staff to request a refund or change the dates. I was told I would hear back never did it was a nightmare so few months later I decided I would give it another try 1st mistake! I went back and forth with the company to apply my deposit to the newly booked trip still no contact so I continued to call and email til last minute they applied the deposit. Upon arriving at night the cabin being located on the mountain top the outside cabin lights did not work at all so it was very dark. After going inside we discovered the cabin to be extremely dirty massive amounts of dog hair were everywhere,dirt was all over the floor, the kitchen was very nasty dishes were dirty grease all over the counter. One issue I did notice and bring to the attention was the 2nd floor outside porch railing wood was rotting and extremely unstable being a business owner in construction I expressed this major concern. My wife spent our first night cleaning the cabin while this was our anniversary trip without our children so was a rare occurrence. The phone in the cabin didn’t work at all, hot tub was hit and miss. I emailed and contacted management multiple times during and after our trip and go figure no response being a business owner myself custom satisfaction is very vital to your business as the consumers are the ones keeping our businesses running this one definitely lacks that trait desperately. For the amount paid we could have stayed at a nice hotel without having to deal with these issues and enjoy vacation not leave reality to experience more!!

Thank you so much for sharing your review! We want to apologize that you were not happy with the cleanliness of your cabin during your visit back in September. We never want any of our guests to feel as though we do not care about their visit, and it sounds like we really let you down with your experience. Our guest’s satisfaction is very important to us and we try our best to do everything we can to accommodate family emergencies that may come up for travelers. We did advise you when you called to cancel, that without travel insurance, your deposit was nonrefundable as your visit was less than a week away when you cancelled. You contacted us almost a year later about a deposit that was already allocated and paid to the cabin owner for the dates you reserved back in 2020. Thankfully, we were able to get your previous deposit credited to your new reservation, But We have to say that we are very surprised to hear you say that we were anything but courteous and accommodating when helping you get your cancellation details straightened out. Also, you did reach out to us to report some of the issues you encountered, but you called us as you were departing the cabin which did not allow us any time to fix anything for you. Guest service is our top priority which is why we have staff members available 24 hours a day for anything our guests may need during their visit. Our General Manager is also always available to talk to guests concerning their experiences, good or bad. We absolutely would have sent someone out immediately to take care of the pet hair or any other area that was not sufficiently cleaned. No guest should ever feel like they have to start their trip off cleaning when they stay at any of our cabins, and for that we apologize. Thank you again for sharing your experience!

Negative experience: One star is too generous Tried for over a week to get a response through the Vrbo platform’s direct messaging about multiple properties managed by Carolina Mountain Vacations. I was alerted by Vrbo that my request for information was sent but CMV never cared to reply. Two weeks later, still no response! What kind of business is this? Just can’t figure out why they didn’t want my business. I guess I should feel lucky to have booked a long vacation with someone that cares about their livelihood, not CMV.

Negative experience: Got to the cabin and first thing I noticed was dead bugs in the doorway...checked doorway on mountain view side to see more dead bugs in doorway..now this is after a "crew" came in to disinfect and clean the cabin after the last family rented it...floors were filthy, food under dining table and floor in kitchen and living room...trash can lid was disgusting..deck had not been cleaned since the last time we rented this cabin..a year ago..deck furniture was covered in pollen and the patio furniture had turned green with outdoor mold...silverware in drawer was dirty and dead bugs in silverware tray and still this was after a "crew" came in to clean and sanitize during the "covid" pandemic...upstairs furniture had human body fluids splashed on the upholstery from "a man" that apparently couldn't use the bed for such an encounter...mountain view exit door lock was damaged..had the "cleaning crew" done their job they would have seen this defective lock...no cleaning materials in cabin except for hand soup in bathrooms and kitchen and chemical for dishwasher that was so out of date and noisy you couldnt hear yourself think when in use..we found all this and called the office to ask that some comeout to clean the floors, that's all we asked and was told someone would be right out...NO ONE CAME OR CALLED...you have got your last dime from us..this was unacceptable...even a mediocre motel would have been cleaner...the cabin was left cleaner than we found it...just pray that you get your deposit back, so far we haven't....the cabin rented was THE CROW'S NEST CABIN...REMEMBER THIS AND REMEMBER THE NAME CAROLINA MOUNTAIN VACATIONS...don't...just don't...you've been warned....UPDATE: Whatever the reason all the problems have been resolved...just got back froma 4 night stay and it was wonderful...Clean, repaired and upgraded..so happy with this visit..beautiful!!!!

Negative experience: I had reached out to Dora a month and a half ago wanting to potentially hire them as a management company for a cabin. She said she would email me info the following week which never happened. After several attempts to reach her, I decided to just stop in and give her the benefit of the doubt and I was told I just missed her. I handed them my business card and asked for them to have her call me. It’s now been a week and there hasn’t been a return call. Clearly they are too busy to make calls which makes me realize they wouldn’t handle my guests any better. There are definitely better options out there, I hope you seek other services so you don’t have a lack of response when it really matters. While I was interviewing another company, I mentioned my experience with a local one not being so good and they said they bet it was Dora so this isn’t just me… it’s a known fact.

Fantastic experience: We put our cabin for rental the last 4-1/2 years through CMV. They handled the rentals professionally; kept the owners informed, as needed; maximized the # of rentals per month through their various advertising venues, equating to a nice rental income. A plus for their office, compared to other rental offices, is there is always someone there manning the phones from 9a to 9p, 7 days a week, not just an answering machine.

Negative experience: Had contacted Carolina mountain vacations because had a death in the family on my husbands side and wanted a private accommodations due to the pandemic. And talked with a staff member named Dora. I had informed her that my husband and I were looking for a 3 bedroom house in there service area. And was asked why we were traveling and had told her and the look she gave me after I said “My husband and I” was truly demeaning and from there she made it clear that she was not going to allow us to rent any cabin. We were totally shocked I hadn’t been treated so badly by a staff member ever. The are not LGBTQ Friendly. I asked to be helped by another staff member and that did no good because Dora told them not to show me and my husband any available homes. Really upsetting the whole experience.

Fantastic experience: Me and my husband just got back from cabin " a bit of heaven" and OMG can i just say the best vacation EVER I highly recommend Carolina mountain vacations !!!!! They were super helpful and made it very easy for us... The ONLY Negative i would say about this entire trip was even though our cabin was PERFECT & BEAUTIFUL AND WE LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT the bed we slept on was old and very noisy and uncomfortable ... but we made the best of it ... ALSO we used our GPS to get to the cabin thank god we had it because you do not get cell phone service and there is NO SIGN FOR TAYLOR ROAD .... WE USED A USE GPS AS A BACK UP because they give you directions your supposed to follow which was helpful but once your supposed to turn onto taylor road there is no sign for that just maybe put a few more clearer signs out for the guest !! To be able to find their cabins but OVERALLL I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BOOKING WITH CAROLINA MOUNTAIN VACATIONS ! & " A bit of Heaven " was truly a dream come true !

Negative experience: My family has used Carolina Mountain Vacations for years and never had an issue. We stay at a cabin 1-2 times a year. We even recently stayed at a cabin during Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, we will never stay with them again, nor will we recommend them to numerous friends and family who have used them in the past with our recommendation. On 12/30/2020, we reserved a cabin over the phone like I always do. The cabin was for Afternoon Delight. The quote was for 4 nights. Checking in May 1, 2021 and checking out May 5, 2021. The total price I was given was $923.20. With that same phone call I paid a reservation fee of $252.50. I received my reservation confirmation along with payment receipt. All was correct and set. Myself and family members had taken off work as necessary and planned accordingly for the dates and trip as scheduled. On 1/12/2021, 2 weeks later, I had discussed with my family possibly adding an additional day to the trip. I called and spoke with Patricia. When she was looking into the additional day, she stated the price was being raised more than $1,000 for the additional day. She kept running the numbers and stated she didn't know why. She said she would have someone else look at it the next day. Later that night, I received a new quote for 5 days for $2,006.77. Literally a difference of more than $1,000. I called her the next day on 1/13/2021 and she said that apparently the quote I had been given was incorrect and when someone else took a look at the numbers, they were off. I explained to her that I would needed the price to be honored and she stated I would have to speak to someone else that had more experience the next morning. On 1/14/2021, I called and spoke with Jackie. She stated that the quote I was apparently given was for only 2 days. I'm not sure how this occurred since the dates I had given on the phone and confirmed with their employee, as well as the dates on my official quote and receipt showed for the correct dates and a total of 4 nights. I explained to Jackie in the beginning of our conversation, that if they would not be honoring our initial quote and price, that I would have no choice but to cancel our reservation and that we would no longer be using Carolina Mountain Vacations in the future and could no longer recommend them. Her response to this was that she wasn't going to be threatened. I asked Jackie numerous times if she would be honoring the price that was given to me verbally, written, and that I had already agreed to with a payment made. After a few minutes of her stating she would do the original price for only 2 nights, she finally stated "No". She would not be honoring the price agreed upon initially and that I was provided. I'm not really sure how a company can legally do this since a verbal contract is binding in the state of NC. Not only that, but my paperwork clearly states the correct dates. Even a step further than that, I already made a payment to the agreed price and contract. In the receipt I received from them, they even have a disclaimer that states as followed: "Please note: By making a payment and taking receipt of the documents attached; you are stating your agreement to the terms and conditions contained within." I suppose that disclaimer means nothing to them though. That was the end of our conversation after that. Needless to say, after speaking with my other family members who were supposed to join us on this vacation, I ended up calling back and cancelling my reservation. I would think that with us spending thousands of dollars to stay with Carolina Mountain Vacations for the last 8 years and recommending them to everyone we know, that they would do the "right" thing and stick to their original quote and word. If they were willing to lose us as customers forever, I'm not sure how whoever is reading this thinks that they will be treated. Also just so it's out there, this is the only review that I have ever written before about a company. But bad business is bad business and apparently customer retention/relations is not a priority here.

Positive experience: Positive: A great beautiful cabin and very clean. My family and I went on December 22 through the 25 which was supposed to be to the 26. It was me my kids and my husband and my sister in law brother and their son we book bedrock cabin. Which was very nice don’t get me wrong. Negative: The only problem we had was that it snowed and we had no lights no water and no food. It was cold and the electric was not on. It snowed on the 24th and that’s when the lights went off and no heat so it was very cold we had no more lighter wood so we use paper which that didn’t work. We had no food because we couldn’t cook anything we had no water to drink because the water was off my brother called a lot of times but they said it’s nothing they could do. They couldn’t get up the mountain because it was slippery dangerous so they wasn’t going to risk there workers to help us. So we had no choice but to pack all our belongings and leave on Christmas Day☹️ If you booked this cabin make sure it’s not winter time because you will be stranded and freezing with no food. Will I recommend anyone to go to there cabin yes just not around that time!

Negative experience: 4 days prior to our trip I was called and told the outdoor fireplace was being repaired and they needed to work on it during our stay. I said there was no way I was paying this kind of money and there were going to be construction workers on the property. I was called back at 10:30 on the day of check in (Thursday) while I was enroute to the cabin and told there were construction workers on site and they needed to finish their work and probably would not be done until Friday. Ruined the trip. I was credited the first day after much complaining. The cabin is old and not worth the money. I won't be back.

Fantastic experience: This is the 5th time we have stayed with Carolina Mountain Vacations. We have stayed at several different cabins and have never had an issues with any of them. All of the cabins have been exactly what they posted but I always do my due diligence in checking out each cabin along with the pictures and all of the descriptions including the “locations and description” tab ( I always find great information there). On this trip we used the “pantry pre-stock” service which was FABULOUS and I will never go again without taking advantage of this amenity. Everything was exactly as the list I emailed and waiting for us in the cabin. Since I do a lot of cooking while we are there ( we enjoy the mountain to the fullest and usually only go into town once or twice the entire 8 days), it was WONDERFUL not to have to go to the market after such a long drive. We stayed at Pride of Glory on this trip and I must say, it was the best stocked kitchen I have stayed in yet for any rental property. Great books provided for your reading pleasure!! We felt very at home and relaxed the entire trip and made the most of the porch views, hot tub, fire pit, gas logs and Master Loft with fabulous morning views. We very much appreciate the privacy offered by Carolina Mountain Vacations staff during our stay but we were very confident that someone was available at any time day or night. We love it so much we have already booked 2 trips for 2021!!! Jackie was instrumental in assistant us with pour plans as was all of the staff. Can’t wait for our next trip!!

Fantastic experience: Ahh Mazing Views Cabin: Stayed August 15-22 for our 10 year anniversary. The cabin and views were better in person than in the pictures. We loved every minute and given the pandemic we only went out twice the whole week. We cooked every meal and found the kitchen to have everything we could have possibly needed. (A few mixing bowls would be nice, but not a huge deal) The property was nice and secluded so completely quiet and private. We loved the views from outside or in. The boats and train were neat to watch from the deck (bring a pair of binoculars). We got to see a beautiful rainbow form and move through the clouds one afternoon. Most mornings you wake up and the clouds are all below you. If you can make a sunrise or two I highly suggest to grab a camera. It is breathtaking! At night turn off all the lights inside and out and watch the blanket of stars that cover you. If you go in summer months I suggest closing the curtains in the living area mid-morning for a couple hours. The sun will heat the house up fast and the AC unit will really push to get the temp cool. After day one we found that the few hours of closing the curtains stopped the issue all together. We have stayed in all areas of the mountains throughout NC and Tenn for 10 years and this place had the best view yet. We enjoyed every minute and will definitely book again!

Positive experience: Amazing location with breathtaking views. Sauna, hot tub, fire pit, on the lake with private dock, pool table and scenic lakeside mountain drive to get to cabin. Such an awesome family vacation with so much to do! Close to city, adventure spots and phenomenal hiking locations. Staff was accommodating even with minor issues. Would recommend to anyone wanting to get away for peaceful retreat and family bonding.

Fantastic experience: Me my husband Randy, our son and dog stayed at October Sky it was a semi secluded cabin right in the Nantahala forest. The neighbors were not in view when we were in the actual cabin nor did we hear anyone at night, we saw some houses on the way to the property. The neighbors always gave us a friendly wave and made us feel like we were part of the community. The family from the general store was lovely as well. The cabin itself was spotless upon arrival and in pristine condition. There was quite a storm our first night and the electricity went out. When we called the office they were very communicative and our power was back on within hours honestly anything we needed was taking care of within a few hours and we were always treated kindly even when our dog broke out of his crate. It was a peaceful quiet stay far enough from noise and neighbors and close enough to town where we could enjoy a nice meal or a beer after a short drive. Everyone at the Nantahala outdoor welcome center (which we passed through to get to the cabin) was friendly and helpful and surprisingly people were respectful of all COVID social distancing, wearing masks and other protocols being from Florida there’s a lot of people who don’t care so it was really refreshing. We have a cabin in Boone and frequent other parts of North Carolina quite often but this was our first time visiting Bryson City and because of the exceptional service and beautiful cabin we plan on returning in January. It made our first trip with our 8 month old son so easy and comfortable. Thank you Carolina Mountain Vacations for the exceptional service and stay you have a permanent place in our family’s heart. We can’t wait to return to October Sky.

Negative experience: We were two couples with two newborns and there were a couple of big downfalls that strongly affected our stay. Firstly, we spent extra ($750) for two nights at this cabin specifically for the hot tub and when we arrived at 3, maintenance was just getting started emptying and cleaning it and said they’d come back and refill it at 6. I called the office and they said they’d look into it and I never heard back but someone showed up to refill it shortly after. While there, we asked maintenance to clean the grill which was absolutely filthy like it had never been cleaned before. We planned to grill steaks but decided not to because it wasn’t working and was so incredibly dirty. The hot tub wasn’t hot until at least 9pm and the motion light AND the front porch light were both not functioning so it was very difficult to use. There was dog or some other animal poop in the parking area, dirty linens, dusty fans, the air vents were so full of dirt they could hardly open and close. There was very little toilet paper and no garbage bags. The most annoying problem was the lack of WiFi. I also called the office about that and the person said reset it, which we tried, and then said she’d contact the provider and she never called back. With babies that meant we couldn’t use our monitors and enjoy the outdoors while they slept. Definitely a bummer.

Negative experience: Carolina Mountain Vacations - While receiving a response to our less than pleasant stay at one of your cabins is nice, please don't simply brush off the fact that your company blatantly misrepresented, at the very least, the Majestic Pines property. I understand that the properties may be owned and furnished by private owners, you are solely responsible for the content of your website, social media and other forms of advertising. The photos alone of this property are not an accurate representation of what your customers can expect upon arrival. It's very obvious that the photos haven't been updated in quite some time. The actual description is also is less than accurate. While the neighborhood and some of the cabins may be considered to be "secluded", including Majestic Pines in that category is simply a lie. The cabin is close enough to the neighboring cabin, I could see into their cabin and read the writing on the guests' shirt through the kitchen window. I could also hear their entire conversations while they were on their back porch. Let's not forget to mention the neighbors night vision security camera(s) pointing towards the back porch and hot tub area of Majestic Pines. That's very creepy, and couldn't be further from being secluded. Like most of the furnishings at Majestic Pines, the broken hot tub is clearly old and hassle seen its better days. I'm very confident that Carolina Mountain Vacations has known about the issues with the hot tub, yet still chooses to mention it in advertisement, as if it's a functioning feature, as guests would expect. When my wife called and mentioned the non-working hot tub wasn't an issue, it's because the time we had to use it had come and gone, and we didn't want our precious vacation time to be interrupted by strange maintenance people. Also, the issue wasn't that the jets were merely "not streaming correctly". More than half of the jets and other features weren't working at all. The little notes left all over the house regarding the water situation is a clear indication that Carolina Mountain Vacations is well aware of the grossly inadequate water pressure. Yet, conveniently, there's not a single mention/warning to potential customers before taking their money. The ability to take something resembling a decent shower is something that's kind of expected when paying over $200 a night. Another thing that's kind of expected when paying over $200, is a decent bed to sleep on. This isn't a matter of firmness preferences, either. Again, like many other furnishings at Majestic Pines, the mattress is quite old and worn. It's long past time for a replacement. I know you're renting "cabins", but I suspect most of your customers who are looking for something in the price range of Majestic Pines are looking for something with a certain level of quality. If we were looking for something tattered and broken, we would have saved a lot of money and rented one of those old, rustic cabins that are lit by candlelight and have no running water. If you have any desire to be honest about what Majestic Pines has to offer, you may want to convince the owners to make a few improvements around the place. The horrible Wi-Fi and old-school tube style TV would be a good start. In the end, even though we enjoyed the fire pit and air conditioning, we paid for so much more. We did not get what we paid for, and a refund of at least 50% isn't too much to ask for, in my humble opinion. After Carolina Mountain Vacations received our review, rather than reaching out to us for any sort of resolution, they instead chose to retaliate by leaving a negative review of us on Airbnb. "We regretfully had issues with Julie's reservation and had to upgrade her to a different cabin for her visit. Julie and her husband were not happy with the cabin upgrade and rather than speaking with us directly for a resolution, they both began posting multiple low rating reviews across various different review sites. We would not rent to Julie again." They can't say anything negative, other than we shared an honest review.

Negative experience: We rented Ridge Runner and overall, it was a nice house, but there were a few things that made the trip much less enjoyable. The outside area in the pictures makes it look like it would be a good place for kids to play, but it is extremely steep and the gravel they have down is very slippery (my 3 year old fell and hurt herself while walking down to the fire pit). Also, the hot tub cover really needs to be replaced. It has absorbed so much water that both my husband and I had to lift it off and put it on together. It is falling apart and does not keep the heat in the tub. The water never got over 100 degrees, although it was set higher. They really need to put some sort of lock on the outdoor trash cans! One of the garbage cans was tipped over and trash everywhere overnight. We cleaned it up, but during the day the animals came back and pulled trash into the woods. It is not fun to have to pick up trash in the woods on your vacation. I feel there is absolutely no reason why they couldn't put locks on the garbage cans or build something around the garbage cans so the animals could not get it. We have stayed at many places near and around this area and they all make an effort to have locks or protection on the garbage cans. Lastly, we tried using the outdoor grill on the second night, but one of the burners wouldn't light at all and the other two would barely light. I left it on for 20 minutes and it never got over 90 degrees. I called the office and they told me maintenance would be out the next morning to make a plan/ replace the grill (I had told them we wanted to grill steaks the next night). We left the next day around 10:30 and were back for naps at 11:45 and left again after 3pm. They came sometime between 3 and 7 pm, but did not replace the grill or fix it. Neither did they call and give us any sort of update. That was extremely disappointing. I feel that Carolina Mountain Vacations should have at least called us back and informed us on what was going on.

We regret to hear that you did not enjoy your recent visit to the Ridge Runner cabin, and we are especially sorry to hear your daughter slipped on the gravel and hurt herself while walking down to the fire pit. The Ridge Runner does sit on a moderately steep incline with the fire pit in the yard located on at a bit of an angle. We try our best to overshare when it comes to the cabin photos and descriptions on our website, so our guests can truly get a feel for a cabin before they book a visit. We will definitely add some additional verbiage to better describe the yard and surrounding property features for future guests.

The consumer product safety commission recommends a temperature of 100 degrees to be considered safe for a healthy adult, which is why all of our hot tubs are regulated to not exceed that temperature for the protection of our guests. We are happy to share that we do have a hot tub cover ordered for the property. Unfortunately, its shipping has been delayed due to the current circumstances and is arriving much later than we expected. We know how heavy those waterlogged covers can be and we are very sorry that it impacted your enjoyment of the hot tub during your visit. Please know that a replacement cover will be delivered to the cabin soon!

We couldn’t agree more with you about the trash cans. Animals in the mountains are pesky and the cans should have straps to securely attach the lids to prevent its contents from being thrown across the yard. We would have absolutely sent someone out to clean up the mess for you so not to disrupt your vacation. We know how important family trips together are and we are regretful that the issues you experienced impacted your visit in a less than exceptional way! We really dropped the ball and our lack of communication with you is unacceptable to say the very least. We have replaced the grill and addressed the importance of communication with our team. Negative experience: Overall we had a very disappointing stay with Carolina Mountain Vacations. We booked one cabin only to find out a couple of days later that the air conditioning unit was broken. They offered to rebook us at another property and gave us 2 choices only one of which had a king size bed which is a necessity for us. We were booked for Majestic Pines and were excited for our weekend away in the mountains. OFFICE STAFF - Before we left, I realized I never received an updated reservation so I had to contact them to have it sent to me. We called to check in when we arrived and it took more than 10 minutes on the phone to get the confirmation that our cabin was ready. We called about the broken hot tub (more on that later) to be sure we weren't charged and office staff was not very accommodating leading me to believe they already knew it was was broken. Paperwork wasn't left in the cabin so someone had to bring that by. I also had to inquire about the wifi because the wifi information in the check in packet was wrong. After the woman on the phone reluctantly started asking people in the office how to fix it, she told me to restart the router and said she would wait on the phone. No less than 20 seconds later she told me to call back if there was any problem. CABIN POSITIVES - The view was very nice from the back porch. We did enjoy the fire pit as well. We like to sleep with it very cold and the AC kept the cabin very cold. CABIN NEGATIVES - Upon arrival at the cabin, we were disappointed especially since this was supposed to be an upgrade from what we originally booked. It was stated that is property was secluded yet there was a neighbor close enough to see right in the window not to mention the night vision security camera pointed right at the deck/hot tub area. At first glance at the inside all of the furnishings were outdated (the pics in the listing are outdated for sure). The couch and chair in the living room were visibly very worn and there was a hole in one of the couch cushions. Also the couch had zippers on the back of the cushions (weird!) and all the zippers were broken. We were excited about the hot tub only to discover that only one side of the jets worked. Then there was the bed. It was HORRIFIC. Cheap mattress that was very outdated. The springs were protruding out on the sides when you laid on it. Also it sunk towards the middle so I constantly felt like I was going to roll over into my husband. We both had sore backs the 2 mornings we slept there. And then the shower. No pressure AT ALL. Even what did come out was spotty and would fade in and out. The water did get very hot but there was no way the shower was even adequate. We didn't use the futon upstairs but it was also dated and very worn. Although we weren't going to spend all our time on our phones, this cabin has inadequate wi-fi. So slow a photo or website would have a very long time to load. I believe the service is from satellite which will never be that good. Just be warned if you plan to work or do anything significant on the wifi. For what we spent, we felt like we did not get our moneys worth at all. I'm not likely to book with them again or recommend them to a friend.

The air conditioning unit did go down at the property you originally booked just days before your scheduled arrival, and it did require a new replacement unit to be installed. We tried our best to get the installation done as quickly as possible so not to disrupt any of the trips booked at that property, but unfortunately we were not able to do so in your case. We are very sorry that this impacted your trip, and we were confident that Majestic Pines would be a wonderful cabin upgrade from the original cabin you booked. Majestic Pines is a beautiful property with scenic mountain views, and we share in your disappointment that your visit did not exceed your expectations.

We want to sincerely apologize for the way our staff member made you feel when you called and reported the hot tub jets not streaming correctly. We do care deeply about all of our guest’s and we would never want to leave any of our visitors feeling otherwise. When you called to report the issue, you did mention that it did not bother you so we waited until your departure to schedule a technician to come out and take a look at them. We also understand your frustration with your check in paperwork not being left at the cabin and having to call our office to get it sent out. The ‘Contactless Check-In’ is a safety procedure newly implemented by our office due to the covid19 pandemic and we are still working out the kinks. That paperwork should have been left at the cabin upon your arrival and we apologize that it was not. Our General Manager and Housekeeping Supervisor will be working together to address the other cabin issues you shared in your review.

Thank you again Julie for sharing your experience and we are so happy to hear that you were able to enjoy the beautiful views and the outdoor firepit during your visit. Nothing beats curling up by an outdoor fire under a starry mountain sky! It really is one of our favorite attributes of our cabins! Negative experience: We specifically requested a hotel with a hot tub. We got in around 4:00 the hot tub was at 60 degrees. Two hours later, it’s at 65 degrees. We are here 48 hours and still can’t utilize the hot tub because they dumped it too late. I’m upset. My husband and myself have been dedicated customers. The general manager was so unprofessional. She corrected me when I stated how much I paid and I’m unable to enjoy. My husband and myself left our toddler for the very first time so we are only here 48 hours. I’m honestly so disappointed. We may just go home. She absolutely REFUSED to let us move cabins, did not offer a discount- absolutely nothing. She honestly did not care one single bit.

We take the cleanliness and sanitation of our cabins very seriously, and as we tried to explain to you on the phone, we dump and clean all hot tubs after a guest departs one of our cabins. For your arrival, we had guests departing your cabin at our normal check out time of 11am. Our team dumped and cleaned the hot tub after their departure, which is why it was not fully up to temperature when you arrived shortly after. It does take a little bit of time to recirculate and reheat the new water. We did try and explain that this would be the case at any cabin we would have moved you to, as again the new water would need a little bit of time to recirculate and reheat. You were not receptive to any of our attempts to help the situation and you adamantly expressed your desire to leave us a bad review. We do apologize again for the issues you experienced during your visit, but we have very strict cleanliness standards that we implement to keep all of our cabins safe and clean for our guests.

Negative experience: If I could give this 0 stars I would. Let me start by saying DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. My husband and I with our dog drove up to celebrate our honeymoon in one of the cabins. On the drive up from Florida I received a phone call from one of the girls stating their office had suffered flooding and that the paperwork would be left in the mailbox. Fine! I had no issue with that. Upon opening the paperwork, we were given detailed directions to the cabin. I knew in advance from reading information on the website that GPS would be most likely unavailable due to the location, and my husband can read a map so we knew we would be in good shape. WRONG!!! Following the directions, you are directed to take a main highway road. What they don’t tell you is that the highway is CLOSED. We followed the detour and ended up a mountain for approximately 2 hours which consisted of a one line dirt road to a complete dead end. We never made it to our cabin. When I tried to call to get help, approximately 25 times, there was no answer. I will be expecting a full refund. Thank you for ruining our honeymoon!

We were unaware of the mud slide that happened the afternoon of your arrival in the gorge, which was why the road had an emergency closure. We do have 24-hour after hour emergency numbers listed on your check in paperwork that would have connected you to our on-call maintenance personnel and also our General Manager for assistance when you reached the road closures. You arrived in the middle of the night and regretfully, when our office closes, those two after hour emergency numbers are the only way to reach someone for help outside of our normal office hours. Our General Manager did reach out to you as soon as we were made aware of your situation and we did provide you will a full refund your trip. Again, we do apologize for the issues you experienced and hope you understand the emergency road closure was not something that we were able to control. We hope you will give us another chance to better accommodate you again should you plan another trip to beautiful Bryson City in the future.

Negative experience: We stayed at crowsnest and while the cabin and the view were great, there things we didn't like. The cabin didn't have Wi-Fi. All the cabins we've stayed at before have had Wi-Fi. Only one TV in the entire cabin. The tv was old and only had a few channels to watch. The hotub was located too far down near the basement. Too isolated and scary to be at night and No maintenance had been performed because I didn't smell chlorine in the water nor the dispenser had any Clorox tablets. I hope they improve....

We are disappointed to hear your visit to one of the properties that we manage, the Crow’s Nest, was not as you expected. We cannot find a record of your stay at this property but are assuming that you could have been the accompanying guest of someone who did rent this cabin. We wish you or they had Contacted our office or used the 24hr emergency maintenance number handed to them at check-in to let us know your concerns during your stay. We would have addressed any issue that you had promptly, so that you could have enjoyed the rest of your stay. That is why we employ a full office and maintenance staff 9am to 9pm 7 days a week, plus provide 24hr emergency maintenance service.
We never want a guest to be disappointed or uninformed about the amenities provided or décor at a cabin that we manage. Which is why on our website, each cabin’s info page provides accurate amenities grouped by room with pictures. The TV at this cabin is about three years old and is a 42 LED TV with Direct TV channels. If the amenities listed for Crow’s Nest did not meet your needs one of our other properties may have. Our staff is available by phone or email to answer any questions or confirm any details about our properties before you book a vacation. Wi-Fi internet access is currently not available or listed as such at this cabin. Why? Cable speed internet service is not available to property owners in remote locations like Crow’s Nest is located for the owner to even offer to guest. Many cabins provide this amenity by using cellular hotspot Wi-Fi. However, the mountainous terrain can block already weak Cellular signals at some properties. Making data speeds too slow for streaming movies or video gaming. Our cabins that are closer to more populated areas have a better chance of having access to strong cellular signals. At these properties many of our cabin owners do offer internet access as an amenity. The availability of this amenity is listed on those properties.
As you mentioned the outdoor hot tub is not on the deck but is located in the side yard next to the cabin for the best spot to enjoy the scenic mountain view and the acres of private forest surrounding it. Please note that a strong chemical odor is not an indication of a properly cleaned hot tub, but is the sign of an extremely high concentration of chemicals and one that someone is not testing or maintaining a proper water Ph. Unlike a community pool, we frequently drain then refill our hot tubs with fresh mountain well water sourced from the property. The dispenser you mentioned is used to dispense only the needed amount of chemicals as indicated by testing. Once dissolved more is not added until testing indicates the need. We are sorry that you misunderstood this as an indication that we had not maintained the hot tub prior to your arrival. Had you contacted our office with your concerns about the hot tub we would have had one of our certified maintenance staff return and preform a test of the hot tub in front of you.
The availability of our staff means you are never alone in your vacation experience, though we will never intrude on the peace and privacy of your vacation. We sincerely hope that our giving you privacy during your stay was not taken as a lack of concern. But as a belief that you were relaxing and unwinding in the mountain seclusion that Crow’s Nest cabin offers. It is hard to fix an issue and provide a great experience for a guest if they don’t let us know their concerns when they arise. Had you given us any indication during your stay, we know that our staff would have gone out of their way to make sure everything was perfect during your stay. We hope on your next vacation you will be better informed and take advantage of what services are provided by the next property management company you choose to rent with and not wait to inform them afterwards in a review.

Positive experience: Stayed here the weekend of the Veterans Day. I absolutely loved it . Already planning another stay. Very well mannered staff , always tried to help as much as possible . Cabin was very clean . Only problem we had was a leaking shower that would pour downstairs but we called and told them and was not held responsible . View was amazing as well. Love that they are pet friendly and my fur child could enjoy her stay just like I did . Most definitely recommend

Positive experience: It was a nice place but not secluded enough, to Many close neighbors. And the place was very dirty. Bees in the one bathroom. Dead bugs everywhere. floors and countertops where dirty as well. But regardless we had fun the hot tub was very nice. The sauna was not.

Fantastic experience: Spectacular experience! It was very confusing finding the office at check in, and a bit of a stressful drive for this Florida girl to get up the mountain to or cabin. It was well worth it! We stayed at Almost Heaven and I couldn't have been more happy. The cabin is beautiful, the view is amazing, and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.

Fantastic experience: A truly exceptional place to stay! My family and I have booked with CMV a few times now and am planning to return soon! In fact, I'm looking on their site now to book a vacation. All the cabines I have rented so far have gone way beyond expectation and have always had the best views! The staff are very polite and just plain out great people! I had went back the next day after checking in trying to find some places that did woodworks and they was very helpful and recommended me some great places to check out!

Positive experience: Beautiful place! Got a little lost on the way up the mountain, but it was dark. Rained a lot, but there was tons of fun thing to do! Was told there was satellite upstairs but there was just a broken DVD player, not a big deal but we wanted to watch a movie. No grass but my dog was ok going potty on rocks... I guess if you have to you will. Over all, lots of fun, beautiful, serene, peaceful but overpriced.
