Fantastic experience: Truly an amazing experience to travel the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon with this group. It was so much more than I anticipated. The natural beauty is unlike anywhere else. My husband and I did a 14 day classic adventure. The hikes into the side canyons were amazing. Our guides were the best! They are kind hearted souls who love the Grand Canyon, its history, geology, ecology, and make delicious food as well. They were so helpful making sure we were safe on the hikes and on the water. Highly recommend using AZRA for your adventure!

Fantastic experience: Sixteen days of amazing adventure through the Grand Canyon. The whole AzRA team was fantastic, from preparation, orientation, transport and rafting, they could not possibly assemble a better staff. On the river, the guides were full of knowledge of the geology, flora, fauna and culture. This trip should be on everyone's bucket list.

Fantastic experience: AZRA is an exceptional company providing a wonderful Grand Canyon experience! The guides were amazing and super knowledgeable, competent, patient, and become like family. Our trip leader, Bec, wove together a perfect mix of river time and hikes. The food was great too. I was on the 16-day non-motorized trip, but know AZRA would be great on any of the offered adventures. I look forward to rafting with AZRA again!!!!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely an amazing trip that was well organized and had fantastic guides. So glad we took the 14 Day trip and that they had a paddle raft plus a dory to try. Both the paddle raft and the dory were fun especially in the rapids! Food was phenomenal, all sleeping and dry gear was included which made packing simple. Our guides had a morning talk/ check in and after dinner check to see what we liked. There are so many side trips and camps to see they tailored the trip to our group, adjusting based on our feedback. Will definitely go again and even take a longer trip!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic!!! That’s the best way to share our experience in a single word. The trip was absolutely awesome and the river guides were great. Seneca knows her stuff and is so pleasant to be around and we enjoyed her book readings. Every river guide had their unique style and knowledge of the canyon and river. We enjoyed the variety of boats, rafts, paddle raft and dory. We enjoyed Will’s story reading and map explanations and Leonard’s (Lenny’s) knowledge and explanations of the Grand Canyon geology. Izzy was always helpful and a real joy to be around. The highlight for me was riding the dory through Lava under the guidance of Garth. Such a blast. At some point, we will run the upper portion with AZRA of course. Did I mention the food was great as well and Tyler’s singing and guitar entertainment several times during the evening as well as in one of the acoustic canyons. Thank you for such a great and memorable trip.

Fantastic experience: 10 Day Motor Adventure, the middle of September. This trip was one of the best things I have ever done! If you can sleep outside for 9 nights and are cool with always being sandy, this should be on your bucket list. Being from Northern AZ, I didn’t think the Canyon could surprise and enthrall me so much. Our guides were absolutely fantastic, shout out to Ed, Beck, and Margaret. They were fun and also had an exceptional knowledge of the geology, and ecosystems of the Canyon as well as histories of native peoples and of early and notable river explorers. The food was very good, we all joked that none of us eat that well at home. We really lucked out on the weather, it was close to perfect. The hikes were challenging and led to beautiful and interesting spots that one could not easily access any other way than being on the river. We had age ranges from 30s to 80 on our trip, and no one was expected to take on more than they could handle.

Fantastic experience: This was an amazing trip of a lifetime. 10 day motor trip was so much fun. No technology and sleeping under the stars for 10 days, but the food was so good and there was so much to eat. I loved it!

Fantastic experience: Just finished a 2-week raft trip in the Grand Canyon with these wonderful people. I had never been to the Grand Canyon before, and was, of course, awed by its majesty and mysteries. But I was really moved by the AzRA team. The team lead, Michelle, had made 70 trips on this river and still she stood and thanked the river at the end, just one more sign of the way she shared her own joy at the wonder of this place. I always felt well cared for and safe in the hands of these guides. They made it fun and each really showed their own way of loving the river and the craft of guiding, Jed with his storytelling and reading the river aloud, Elise with a great sense of humor and play, Jaren’s joy at riding the big waves. They brought out the best in our band of 20 passengers, I think, and everyone had a great trip- and I mean everyone!

Fantastic experience: AzRA guided us with ease for two weeks down the Grand Canyon. They made us feel safe and loved and adventurous. Every minute was magic. They left no detail unturned. I am so impressed but the company, their philosophy, and the people.

Fantastic experience: We were on a chartered trip with oar rigs, a paddle boat, and a dory and it was dreamy, an absolute delight. We had amazing hikes & swims, incredible geology and star talks, and the most delicious meals. AzRA guides took amazing care of us!

Fantastic experience: This is my second motorized rafting trip with AZRA, and it was even better than the first. On our first trip in 2017, my wife and I and two friends were "add-ons" to a large, 2-raft group of 20 other folks who knew each other. Although the trip was amazing and we had a fantastic experience, we seldom felt part of the larger group. This time, my wife and I organized our own one-raft charter with a total of 14 family members and friends, and we went on an 8-day full-canyon trip in mid-August 2024. One reason it was special is that we were able to share this experience with our adult son and two teenaged grandkids. About half of us were senior citizens with varying levels of physical abilities and heat/cold tolerances, and our guides, Liam and Ellen, were excellent in discussing with us what we wanted to see and do and adjusting the trip's schedule and itinerary given our abilities, wants, and needs. They adjusted our trip to stop at many shorter, beautiful side hikes and waterfalls, and avoided ones that were too hard for us to handle. We were very grateful for their concerns and considerations. It was monsoon season, but we had great weather and avoided any major rainfall. At night, we had spectacular, distant lightning shows, and during the day, there were beautiful clouds and sunshine. We later found out about the unfortunate Havasu Creek flash flood that occurred off to the north and are grateful to have avoided any serious weather conditions. Liam and Ellen provided us with lots of information about the history, geology, and wildlife of the Grand Canyon, which added to our appreciation of the experience. They also worked hard to make sure our rafting and camping conditions were safe and comfortable. Each meal was delicious, nutritious, and well prepared. I can't say enough about how amazing the trip was. Everyone who went are so grateful to have been included and speak highly of AZRA. Thanks for making the trip special for all of us.

Fantastic experience: Well organized!! The guides and staff were absolutely amazing. It was a well oiled machine. The food was very good and better than I had anticipated. Excellent breakfast,lunch and suppers, I enjoyed them all. As for the rafting and hiking that was also very good , beautiful hiking spots the guides took us to. This was the best trip of my lifetime so far obviously because of the beauty of the Grand Canyon but made equally great because of the AZRA crew. Thank you so much

Fantastic experience: Every single part of this trip not only gave a chance to see and experience one of the most magnificent things in the world, but was also supported by a stellar crew and program. I cannot say enough about the guides. Every one was kind, funny, supportive, helpful, and very friendly. Tyler is an outstanding leader. Kyle both made sure we got fed (amazingly well), but brought incredible heart, commitment, and joy to it all. He even stitched up my husband's river shoes - twice. Maddie, Phil, Jeremy, and Owen all deserve paragraphs of their own. I cannot recommend AZRA more highly. You have to be ready for some serious (though supported) camping, all kinds of weather conditions, sand, wind, BIG waves in some rapids, and much more. One note for those considering 1/2 trip or whole 14 days. If you possibly can, do the full 14. Except (in my opinion) days 12 and 13, every single day is full of wonders and vistas so stunning it's' hard to believe your eyes. And the pace is slow enough to allow you to really appreciate everything you go by.

Fantastic experience: I had a fabulous experience on our 8 day motorized rafting trip. Our guides, Ben , Tyler and volunteer guide Nic were all wonderful. They looked after our safety, health, and made sure we were having the best experience possible. They explained the history and geology of the canyon. The food was delicious and they encouraged snacks and hydration during the day. I can’t thank them enough for the experience of a lifetime

Fantastic experience: I absolutely chose the perfect Grand Canyon rafting outfitting company! This was an amazing trip and it honestly far exceeded my expectations, because of the attention to detail, delicious meals, and amazing overall effort that was put forward from the AZRA crew and especially our guides while on the river. I thought this trip was going to be a once in a life time bucket list, but I may just do it a second time to see the Grand Canyon during a different season and bring along a different friend to share this magical experience. Fantastic experience: Just spent 8 days on the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon hosted by the incredible AZRA team. It was a fantastic experience, one I will never forget. The guides were kind, courteous, culinary experts, musical, super canyon-educated, adventuresome, and soulful. Fantastic experience: This is my second trip with AZRA, the first back in 2000. This trip I had the pleasure of bringing my son along for the experience. Very professional and well organized company that addressed every detail of our complex 9 day adventure on the Colorado river. From pre and post trip logistics, to what to bring, to organizing special dietary needs, educating us on many aspects of the Grand Canyon, it’s river running history, geology, and of course the best part of riding those rapids and hiking. They provided an excellent experience and I would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I love going to the beach (ocean, Caribbean, etc). I've never done anything like a river or rafting trip before but I was blown away at this experience. Would recommend this to anyone! We were there with family ranging in age from 13-69. We did the upper canyon part of the classic adventure and the long hike out! The views, the experience, everything about it was phenomenal. But, it all starts with the guides. Ben was our trip leader and no only super knowledgeable about the river, the canyons, etc...an all around great guy. The rest of the guides, EY, Liz, Seneca, Landon, Brennan, Monica, Jacob, made the experience perfect. All knowledgeable, all make the trip a blast and fun experience, and above all else, focus on each participants safety and well being. Would recommend this trip 10/10 times and already contemplating when I'll bring others!!!

Fantastic experience: I went down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon with AZRA last year, and it was an incredible experience! This was my second trip with them, the first being 40 years ago, and they did not disappoint. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and ensured we had a fantastic and educational journey. The food was delicious, with three hearty meals a day plus snacks. Safety was a top priority, and I always felt very safe with this group. I highly recommend AZRA for anyone looking to experience the Grand Canyon from the river.

They're independently diverse in background, personality, knowledge, etc. but have common cause and thread as part of azra that resulted in a great experience. Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful time with AZRA, rafting the Upper Colorado in the Grand Canyon! The guides were super knowledgeable and they work so hard! All of our meal were fantastic -- salmon, steak, shrimp pasta and more. We'd definitely recommend them to everyone!

Fantastic experience: My sons and I did the upper Grand Canyon with Arizona Raft Adventures in September 2021 and returned to do the lower Canyon with them in June 2024. Everything about the trip was professional and top notch - experienced and superbly trained guides who know every inch of the Canyon, excellent fresh food, tough and carefully selected gear. I was confident that our hosts could handle anything that might come up. We especially liked the unhurried pace, with slow mornings and evenings, and long quiet stretches on the water. Mind you, this is not glamping. It's a challenging wilderness experience, and you'd better be in shape and prepared to endure a bit of hardship (temperature extremes, primitive campsites, etc.) However, there is simply no other way to see the entire Canyon from the inside. I am happy to give AZRA my highest recommendation.

Fantastic experience: I finished my upper canyon rafting trip with AZRA two days ago. From the first moment, it's obvious this outfit is highly organized and professional. Safety is paramount, and ensuring every guest is getting the most out of their experience is their priority. From the first orientation to the final step out of the canyon, I was impressed with the professionalism, concern and courtesy of every staff member. Our guides; Finger, Cassidy, Nadir, Jeff and Miles, are experts at their craft, and shared a plethora of canyon knowledge with us. I felt entirely safe in the rapids, regardless of whose boat I was in. The guides are very entusiastic, and their love of their profession is clearly evident. Our support staff; Hannah, Taylor and Laura labored tirelessly to ensure our every need was taken care of, every day, from sunrise to sunset. What stood out most for me: 1. Professionalism: I can't stress that word enough. These folks know precisely what they're doing. You're safe in their capable hands. Safety is their highest priority. 2. Courtesy: Regardless of how tired or busy a staff member may be, they are polite and courteous. 3. Equipment: Everything worked, and worked well. No cutting corners. 4. Food! The food was nothing short of amazing. Healthy, delicious meals every time, and every guest's dietary needs were met. 5. Entertainment: There were a number of fun side hikes to see waterfalls, fossils, unusual crystals, petroglyphs, and playing in the turquoise rapids of the Little Colorado, among others. We were well entertained and educated on the canyon. The list could go on, but suffice to say this outfit will leave you thrilled with your experience. I will absolutely book with them again. Fantastic experience: This really was a trip of a lifetime. First and foremost, every person I interacted with at AZRA was fantastic; friendly, informed, considerate, accommodating and kind. The administration and management staff were responsive and understanding. The guides on the trip were outstanding. They were so skilled on the river. They were patient. They were great cooks. The team of guides on our trip worked together so well, it made the trip fun and enjoyable. The collegial tone they set enhanced the happy feeling among all the participants. It felt like guests and guides were all part of one big team. I was one of the 9 who hiked out on the 6th day. I was the slowest, but walking with our guide Della, out of the Canyon, was one of the highlights of the trip; I learned so much and saw much more than I would have doing the hike out alone. I have been, and will continue to recommend AZRA to anyone considering this wonderful trip. Thank you all.

Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of booking with Arizona Raft Adventures on an eight day trip down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. It was a life changing experience. The beauty and splendor of the canyon carried me away. I couldn’t imagine more qualified and knowledgeable guides who grew up multi-generations on the river and did an amazing job guiding us to an unforgettable experience. The front office exceeded any expectations regarding customer service. (Thanks to Kaelin for finding my lost camera) The food was surprisingly good. I highly recommend Arizona Raft adventures.

Fantastic experience: Wow! What a trip!! Cannot recommend the AZRA crew enough for a Grand Canyon trip. It was an adventure and AZRA took us through the canyon with obvious expertise and made this a once in a lifetime experience. They had everything covered from A-Z. Special shoutout to the staff that led us. Jared, Helen, Sarah, Landon, Kayla, Phil, Dave, Mitchell and Beaver were tremendous!

Negative experience: The guides for this company have a history of verbally abusing private raft groups and lying to Rangers about private trips to get private boaters' hard won permits pulled. They have an arrogant selfish "it's my river attitude" and think anyone doing a private trip is an idiot, even if those private boaters are more experienced. If you're not part of a private trip, they think your garbage and will do anything and everything to get you ticketed, thrown out, or even arrested. The guides for this company have no place on any river. I can't believe they would yell at innocent river folks, then lie to get their private permits pulled. Embarrassing.

Fantastic experience: Better late than never. Google reviews might not have been around then. Spring is when the Canyon comes back to life. My first AZRA full-canyon Classic Adventure was in May, 1991. My second AZRA full-canyon Classic Adventure was in May, 2009. Both times I was on the paddle raft for the entire run. Both times were wondrous! I’m looking forward my third! The Grand Canyon is majestic - bordering on spiritual. The AZRA river guides are incredible. Knowledgeable, skilled and friendly. The side canyon hikes are amazing. Havasu Falls is like walking into a picture postcard. For those who are seeking a mildly-rugged adventure, this experience is phenomenal. When trying to describe it your friends, you'll find yourself speechless. AZRA is the best outfitter of them all!

Fantastic experience: This is a slightly different review. I did not go down the river with AzRA, but someone with AzRA found my missing phone. I was backpacking in Havasupai in August 2023, and one day, a group of us went down to the confluence of Havasu Creek and the Colorado. On the way back, it was brutally hot, so at some point, maybe two miles from the confluence, I decided to submerge myself into the creek. Just before I went in, I realized I had my phone in my pocket. I took it out of my pocket and put it.....somewhere. When I got out of the water, I dried off and we all took off on the path along Havasu Creek. Eventually, I realized I didn't have my phone. I told everyone to go ahead, and I turned back to try to find my phone. In hindsight, that was stupid. I did not find my phone, and by the time I turned around to back to camp, I realized that I had not paid attention to where the trail went up to the plateau to get back to camp. I could see where I needed to get up, but I had no idea where the trail was. After an hour or so of searching, I decided that I would hunker down and sleep near the creek and wait until the next day when more people would come down. Thankfully, I am an avid backpacker so I had an inReach device, extra clothing and food, and plenty of water. The stars were amazing, and I had fun watching the bats eat dinner. The next morning, I moved myself directly onto the trail so that I would be able to have someone show me where to climb up. Eventually, a young man looking for me came across my spot and showed me the way up. I knew it was right there, but it was not obvious unless you knew where to look. I was sad that I lost my phone and all the awesome photos, but I was happy that I would be able to make my flight home (despite having no credit card or license as that was all attached to my lost phone). Three months later, I got a phone call. AzRA had found my phone, license and credit card included. I have no idea who found it or where they found it, but I was thrilled. I got my photos back! What a wonderful gift. Thank you whomever you are! I would really love to know how it was found. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Another fantastic adventure. 16 days combining white water rafting, hiking and the amazing beauty set in 226 miles of the Grand Canyon. The guides and assistants were knowledgeable, helpful, skilled and outgoing. The food was amazing with fresh avocados even on the last day. Breakfasts from eggs to order to Mediterranean scramble, lunch from salads to wraps and suppers from grilled salmon to steak to southwest casserole with dutch oven desserts on many of the nights. The geology of the canyon was seen from the river and on the hikes up from it with the guides explaining it. They also provided the history of the exploration of the river as well as what has been learned of the early native people and how they lived and how their beliefs are still important do their descendants today. Put this one on your bucket list.

Fantastic experience: I was on a 6 day trip with AZRA and would easily rate my experience with the highest marks possible. All of the guides were professional and very competent. But at the same time we’re friendly and helpful in every way. I would and will go on another trip with them as soon as I can. The organization kept me informed before the trip and readily answered any questions I had and the guides went out of their way on the trip to make sure anything we needed from special dietary needs to comfort was taken care of. We had a “trip of a lifetime” with and because of them. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Wow, the trip of a lifetime. I can't imagine a crew more knowledgeable, prepared, supportive, and fun than our AZRA crew. We were so lucky to have Ed as our trip leader with his unsurpassed knowledge of the canyon and the river. Steve's boating skills are amazing, as are his trove of stories and geology. I feel so fortunate to be on a trip with Jaren, who leads with his heart and shares the best of the canyon. Great food, fabulous people, in one of our planet's most special places.

Fantastic experience: I was on the 10 Day Motorized Raft trip in the Grand Canyon. The river guides were extraordinarily knowledgeable of the river and took every effort to make it a safe and enjoyable trip for each and everyone. AZRA was extremely well organized. They have learned over the years how to do this right! I was impressed how they provided good meals for everyone, including those with dietary restrictions. The average age in our group was 67. You will be able to participate in more hikes if you are in good physical condition. If you already hike a lot, you will be OK. You need good balance to scramble over boulders. I think the StairMaster would be the best exercise and regular hiking. Using the list that AZRA provided, I over packed. It is possible to wear the same clothes everyday, however revolting that may be. But you do need to be prepared to be hot/cold, and wet/dry in every combination. Sometime you want to be dry to stay warm; sometimes you want to be wet to cool off. Sometimes you want cotton; sometimes synthetic. Bring extras of things you might lose: hats, sunglasses.

Fantastic experience: I had one of the most positive experiences with this company that I've ever had in my life. From beginning to end, everything was perfect. The preparation that they gave us in terms of providing information about what to expect and how to prepare for the trip was thorough, the meeting and brief training the night before was also excellent. Once we got on the river, the guides were absolutely amazing. Each of them was a perfect host. You're on a raft with a guide for six to eight hours each day, and they have to entertain, educated, and converse, and they were all outstanding. Each of them had such a deep knowledge of the river and its history, and a real love and reverence of the place that I always felt like I was in good hands. Truly, these people did such a great job. They cooked us amazing food every day, they took us over some really serious rapids, and they instilled us with a real love and respect for the Canyon. To the guides: Joy, John O, Seneca, Tyler, Garth and Jerry, I thank you from the bottom of the heart for an amazing experience. If you're going to raft the Grand Canyon, definitely go with AZRA.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely top notch!! I kayaked along with a 14 Full Canyon trip. The Guides are absolute professionals, the meals were great and AZRA does a great job at streamlining all of the logistics. The Guides knew so much about the geology, ecology and history of the river, it was like a non-stop learning opportunity. They encouraged all of the rafters to shuffle between different boats and worked hard to turn a group of strangers into a team. We went on some spectacular hikes, some just a few minutes, others several hours, all to amazing destinations. Don't hesitate! Go with AZRA, they'll take great care of you.

Fantastic experience: Everything about this trip exceeded my expectations, including Dr. Joel Barnes' excellent commentaries throughout the trip covering topics from Astronomy to Zoology, with excellent insights into a multitude of all aspects of the Grand Canyon and the Colorado River, including his own specialty of Geology. You could not ask for a better crew with Trip leader Liam O'Neill, Jeff (Guide), and assistance from Carlie. Their constant focus and concern regarding my safety and maintaining the highest levels of sanitary standards was unmatched. They ensured any dietary or food allergy issues were met for any of the participants. The food was excellent, well balanced, and on par with any dishes served in a fine restaurant. Their focus was to maximize whitewater experiences on the Colorado River, along including with various stops that included a waterfall at one stop and petroglyphs at another stop. I would recommend this trip to anyone. The AZRA-provided camping equipment was excellent. The motorized 33 foot raft provided the maximum level of enjoyment, crewed by one of best group of individuals on the Colorado River, in addition to experiencing this wonderful trip with a great group of fellow voyagers.

Fantastic experience: You have to experience the Grand Canyon to understand how amazing this trip is from the geology of the canyon, the changing scenery, dramatic changes in weather and even the color of the river. The hiking, camping, and paddling (if you do it) are physically challenging. AZRA makes it easy to accomplish 14 days of white water rafting/hiking/and camping that we could never do on our own and introducing something new every day. Our guides were excellent oarsmen. They knew what hiking was best for our weather, they were excellent cooks, they taught us how to live and behave in the canyon and have an excellent adventure. They loved the canyon and shared that attitude with us. GO!

Fantastic experience: I did an eight day raft on the lower grand canyon Colorado river. The hike down was amazing and my guide was wonderful pointing out petroglyphs and fossils The rafting did not disappoint. All the guides were super competent and their energy and love of the river was infective. The camps and food were amazing Everything was wonderful and the river, guides and other guests made this a magical experience

Fantastic experience: Just back from a 6 day raft adventure with AZRA and it was the trip of a lifetime. Every day was filled with exciting rafting, stunning views, shared knowledge about the river, the canyon, geology, history, wildlife.... The food was incredible- breakfast, lunch and dinner. Most importantly, the guides were so skilled, so knowledgeable and so friendly. By the end of our trip, we felt as though we had made 8 new friends (and that doesn't include the other guests who accompanied us!). I can't recommend this company enough. They exceeded expectations at every level. We will be back.

Fantastic experience: It's rare for a trip with already high expectations to so fully blow those expectations away- but the all-paddle full canyon trip with AzRA did exactly that. I went with three friends in the midst of a heatwave in July 2023 with temperatures hovering around 120°F each day (and not much lower at night), and despite the heat, it was one of the best trips I’ve ever been on. The canyon was spectacular, the rapids were so much fun, the food was delicious, and the people - particularly the guides - were amazing. Our guides Alexa (trip lead), Colter, Tyler, Tim, Eleanor, and Garth were simultaneously river guides, group facilitators, teachers, cooks, and very quickly, friends. Managing a group of 20ish guests in extreme heat for 14days is no easy feat- and they somehow made it all look like a breeze. I’d go on another river trip with any one of them in a heartbeat. I seriously can't recommend this highly enough, and if I could give it more than 5 stars I would. Thanks AzRA for an incredible trip!

Fantastic experience: This was an amazing adventure that I can't recommend enough. Azra staff took great care of us and the whole experience was just amazing - scenery, weather, hikes, water, food, people, sky, wildlife - it was incredible from start to finish! I definitely recommend the Classic adventure (all 226 miles) - you will miss some things like E-ticket dory rides and epic hikes if you do a short trip or take a motor raft. Put this trip on your schedule asap!

Fantastic experience: The guides were the best. They were fun, informative and safe. The food was plentiful and healthy. It was very hot and I was worried about doing the trip, but the river water kept us cool during the day. Still, I would recommend a cooler time of year than July.

Fantastic experience: We just got back from doing the 8-day motor trip down the canyon. We covered 225 miles. We had amazing trip leaders. Margeaux, Leah and Betsy were three of the best guides you could ask for. We had some epic runs through some amazing rapids. The food was excellent. I would say, when booking your trip, make sure you ask lots of questions to make sure you get the trip that is best for you. They have paddle, oar and motor trips. You need to decide how much how much of the canyon you want to see and whether you want to paddle or not. You will also do longer hikes if you paddle or do the oar trip. So gauge your activity level to decide what is best for you. We wanted to see the entire canyon (up to Diamond Creek). I would recommend doing the entire canyon. If you only do the upper, you miss some awesome rapids and sites. And vice versa on only doing the lower. Arizona Raft Adventures is an excellent company. They are commitment to sustainability of the canyon. Their code of conduct is excellent and sets the tone for the trip. We met wonderful people and had the most incredible adventure. Highly, highly recommend AZRA and taking this trip. You won't regret it. :-)

Fantastic experience: These are the people you want to travel with if you want a good physical workout (14 day all paddle trip); competent, caring and fun guides; quality gear that stays dry; a travel ethic that respects the river, the desert environment and native culture/sovereignty past and present; and lots of really good food. All the guides said that they love working for this company and that they are treated well by their employer. A great choice all around. I highly recommend AZRA.

Our guides, Margeaux and Tess, were excellent and made our trip very enjoyable. They paced the trip to so that we saw all of the popular places and squeezed in a few surprises along the way. The food was excellent, and all logistics were well organized. I would definitely plan another trip with AZRA!

Fantastic experience: I came expecting a multi-day version of the day trip rafting and hiking I've done in the past, but was given so much more! On the practical side of things, this company has everything exquisitely planned from their detailed packing lists to help you prep for the trip to the intensive planning to allow the guides to prepare amazing meals after weeks away from grocery store access. I always felt safe and never felt anything was shoddily done. The guides who led our group knew SO much about the canyon environment and history (animals, plants, geology, native cultures, exploration history, etc). They selected experiences based on our groups' interests and helped all of us go beyond what we thought we were capable of. I am now partly cured of my fear of heights because of their help! If you want to travel through the Grand Canyon in the best hands so you are totally free to give yourself over to the experiences, book a trip with AzRA and let them take care of everything else while you live in the canyon. Cannot recommend them highly enough!

Fantastic experience: AZRA is simply the best! I have been on a 14-day traditional and an 8-day motorized trip. They are certainly different but both are great options. The guides are professional and personable. The equipment is well cared for and ideal for the canyon. The food is wonderful. In fact, don’t plan to lose weight. It won’t happen. Finally, the canyon itself is beyond words. Nothing can completely prepare you for the grandeur.

Fantastic experience: We just returned from 14 days of off-grid rafting, hiking, eating like kings and queens, and sleeping under the stars after running the Colorado River over 226 miles through the Grand Canyon, running rapids as we went. There are not enough superlatives to describe this experience! This adventure greatly surpassed our expectations, which were high to begin with. The Grand Canyon and the Colorado River were the reason we were on the trip, but it was AZRA’s professionalism and the skill and knowledge of our guides that made our time so special and memorable.

Super knowledgeable, patient, har working, fun, energetic bunch that work so so hard to make the experience memorable for everyone involved. I don't have enough good things to say about this trip. We did the upper half and we will for sure be coming back to do the lower half in the next couple of years. :)

We did a 14 day classic trip in April of 2022 and I will forever cherish the time we had and the friends we made. Fantastic experience: Trip of a lifetime. We've hiked it many times, but floating down the river, being well fed by fun and knowledgable guides (AZRA, you are the best), with side hikes and general shenanigans (bocce dodge ball anyone?) is unforgettable. I was worried about rapids, but the guides were so good, I bucked up and then found myself giggling through them, and never once went for a "swim". I'd do it again in a HEARTBEAT. Thanks, AZRA!!!!

Fantastic experience: Grand Canyon is an amazing place and the absolute best way to see it is on a trip down the Colorado River with Arizona Raft Adventures. I rafted with AzRA in 2022 and can't say enough about what an amazing experience it was from start to finish. The office staff was extremely helpful in getting me on the right type of trip and stayed in communication during the many months leading up to the trip to ensure I was fully prepared. They even have an awesome YouTube channel with videos on what to bring, how to pack, how to prepare, and what to expect on your trip. On the river, the guides are absolutely wonderful and professional, the food is top-notch, and the scenery is pretty good, too! I highly recommend a Grand Canyon trip with AzRA!

Fantastic experience: I rafted the Upper Canyon with AZRA and had a fantastic time. I was very impressed by our guides and how hard they worked. The food was delicious and the scenery was amazing. Definitely recommend, and now I'm probably coming back to raft the lower canyon as well.

Fantastic experience: I did the 16 Classic trip on October 2022. It was a brilliant trip with excellent guides, and it was very well organised. Both guides and office staff went far beyond the minimum and did the maximum they could to create the best and safest trip. The food was excellent as well. I highly recommend AZRA and if I ever did this trip again then I 'd definitely use them again.

Fantastic experience: In the mid-1970s, I began thinking about rafting down the Grand Canyon. But I was busy with school, and then with work, and raising a family. Finally, in retirement, my wife and I made the plunge. It was everything we thought it would be, and more. The weather was perfect, the scenery was incredible and the guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and very skilled at their craft. Our only regret is that we waited this long to check this off our bucket list!

Fantastic experience: Beautiful, amazing, memorable experience. The guides were top-notch, and handled some unique challenges this particular trip encountered with great skill and grace. Being 60 years old, my first thought when we met some of our guides was that they appeared so (alarmingly) youthful for such responsible positions, but they all proved themselves to have more experience and wisdom than my erroneous first impressions led me to assume. The food was terrific, the guides' personalities and energy were terrific, AZRA's pre-trip communication and planning was terrific - the entire experience was terrific. We all felt safe and wowed the entire trip. We chose the 2-week Classic adventure with 4 oared boats, 1 paddle raft, and one super-fun dory.

Fantastic experience: AWESOME!!! Did the 9 day Lower Canyon trip in July 2022. River Guides Riah, Ben, Ben, Landon, Sierra and Simon all brought something interesting and unique to the table. Travelling down this river and through this canyon is an experience difficult to put into words. I highly recommend it and AZRA. My only suggestion, if you have the time and can afford to do so, do the whole 14 or 16 day full canyon trip. I feel like I missed out on so much. Maybe I’ll have to go back and do it again!!
