The Bungalows

Negative experience: Booked July 2024. Less than 24 hours before check in. And half the party already in the area. They cancelled the 3 units we had booked. No calls, no notice, just an email. No offer of assistance to find any other accommodations. If we wouldn’t have checked emails we would have never known.

Negative experience: I have a reservation with this business. I have been unable to contact them. They will not answer my email. Update: this business finally answered my requests. They could not get inspected in time for my reservation, so cancelled it. I received a refund for the full amount I had paid. It took way too many calls and emails, and a bit of run around, but my problem was solved.

Fantastic experience: We only had 2 nights in a studio/efficiency - wish it was more! The accomodations were immaculate and comfortable. The pool was perfect temp and Robin (the mgr) was delightful, and gave us great tips on where to eat. We hope to get back here one day the time went way too fast.

Fantastic experience: A hidden gem in St Pete perfect for all weekend to see the Yankees and Tampa Bay rays at the trop. Beaches are spectacular in St John's pass close by for an amazing evening.

Negative experience: The room is nice, however management is absolutely horrible. We booked through Expedia and thought it was located on the beach, it is directly across you do have a walk. The way management spoke to my husband after requesting we cancel was outrageously rude. We did have two roaches in our room as well, they were dead though. Make sure you receive a check in email- we also did not get one and delayed our access to our room.

Fantastic experience: We just had a fantastic week at The Bungalows! We loved the pool, resort cleanliness, friendly staff and guests, close proximity to the beach and John’s pass (food/shops/activities). Would highly recommend to others. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic experience: I find this place to be wonderful for the price. Getting into the room was very easy, and I found it to be very clean upon arrival. This room is very modern and has newer appliances. The bathroom is my personal favorite with a great sized walk in shower. Pool area is clean and well kept. There are also multiple little patio areas for sitting and making conversation. This place is comfy and quiet. I love it!

Fantastic experience: We loved our stay at The Bungalows! Robin, the property manager, was so sweet and gave us great recommendations. I have 4 and 6 yr old wild children and all the staff were simply amazing. We stayed in the 2bed/1 bath pet-friendly apartment at the far end of the adorable courtyard which was divided into private seating areas by foliage. My kids enjoyed playing with the pea gravel in the courtyard, using sidewalk chalk, etc. until I was ready to walk them 15 seconds down the walkway to a fenced in pool area. There were even pool and beach toys left over from other visitors in a little deck storage box by the pool. The safety was great from a mom’s perspective! We walked to Crabby’s the first night, walked over the bridge to John’s Pass one day, and could walk to the beach via a pedestrian-lit crosswalk one block down from the Bungalows. Every night after the kids were in bed, I felt very safe to walk our dog at night on my own. We would definitely stay here again!

Negative experience: No way shower was filthy and I found it in such poor taste that you charge per person we are an older couple with two well behaved older grandchildren the room started at 175 then when I put the grands in it shot up to 300 per night for three nights charging charging us per person is like renting the room for an hour by the hour it’s in the horrible taste

Fantastic experience: Stayed here several times and never disappointed. Great location. Can walk to John's Pass. Only disadvantage, their is no property manager on site. Always, very clean.

Negative experience: Wouldn't let us cancel without a 100% fee once there was red tide. This was 2 weeks before our stay.

Negative experience: The room had a very strange odor when entering (like fish). The bed was listed as a queen but it’s actually a full size. Only two towels for three people for two nights. The shower was so dirty I decided to wear flip flops in there and is so small it hardly fit my 6’4 husband. The room could use a new coat of paint. The couch very uncomfortable. It is nicely decorated, though. The pool was warm but could have been cleaner. No staff. Way overpriced especially for winter months. The only good thing about this is that John’s Pass is a short walk and so are the restaurants. Will not be staying here again and will probably leave early.

Positive experience: Just checked in at 4pm. Couldn't find the office but was texted a code to open the lock box that contained the room key. Rooms are very clean.

Fantastic experience: What a great place to get away! The bungalow we stayed in was super clean, has super comfy beds, cable TV in every room and Tony(General Manager) was really nice and prompt in accommodating our needs. I would highly recommend The Bungalows!

Fantastic experience: It is a beautiful hidden gem, the beach is across the street. I have not one negative thing to say. We stayed for 6 nights in the x large room, it was larger than I thought. The pool was very nice, there is a area you can sit back, read a book, or just chill. The landscaping was very well kept. We will definately be back.

Positive experience: First time staying at the Bungalows in Treasure Island. It’s a nice place. Clean nice heated pool and walking distance to the ocean. The fall back is if you are planning on sleeping especially on the weekend this is not the place. There was a couple of families and then their friends came over and they partied all day and night. Way pass 3 in morning. Had to go home for sleep. That happened 2 nights in a roll. And for the money you pay you should have some piece when your on vacation. Not here.

Positive experience: The bed is pretty good. The complete place does not have too much personality. The service was prompt. Price value was more or less okay.

Negative experience: We rented a unit on the advice of my parents. They stayed here years ago. Our family rented three units this weekend. Some of the issues we encountered were that there was no electrical outlet in the bathroom. There was no mirror near an electrical outlet so we could not blow dry our hair. Our nephew walked around on the floors with bare feet and the soles of his feet were black from the dirt on the floors. Our bathroom sink filled up with water because it drained so slow. Almost all the TV controllers had issues. In my parents unit, they had to unplug the main TV to get it to turn off. In my brother’s unit, the ceiling fan was missing a blade, thus rendering it not useable. In my unit, we found three large dead roaches. The garbage disposal didn’t work which made the sink back and dishwasher back up and left a nasty odor in the unit. The 2 outdoor chairs near our unit were falling apart. The were not safe to sit on. We paid a cleaning fee plus the unit fee so we did expect everything to work and floors to be clean. On the positive, the linens and rest of unit seemed to be clean. The pool was nice and beach location was good. We would consider coming back if we find these issues have been resolved.

Fantastic experience: Advertised as a home away from home, it is ! We are a family of four plus the dog and had an espectacular time at The Bungalows last weekend. The place is well kept, has a swimming pool, is located right across the street from Treasure Island Beach and walking distance from Johns Pass. Our room was awesome, 2 queen beds, great ac, great well equipped kitchen, awesome bathroom and the best part is that it has its own porch where we had drinks until late at night without bothering anybody. We will definitely return here. Piece of advise is keep an eye on ac filters since they tend to get dirtier y sea side and make sure to check all spaces since we found a dog bone under the sofa that belonged to someone else.

Fantastic experience: The room was such a pleasant surprise. It looked more up to date than the photos. Fresh paint, immaculately kept room and grounds. Pet friendly and fresh smell upon entering which is hard to find in established and affordable accommodations in my experience. The check In/out process was seamless. Management and booking personnel were extremely professional. Hot water, good water pressure, comfortable mattress, feels safe, dedicated parking was convenient. I stayed in #8. Thank you for a relaxing long weekend! Will definitely come back. The only suggestion I have would be to switch the handle on the refrigerator so that it opens out to the kitchenette. Other than that....perfect!

Fantastic experience: This honestly had to be the best mini vacation we’ve had in years. The Bungalows was the cleanest place we’ve ever experienced. Each place has their own kitchen. Staff is amazing , Leanne the manager is phenomenal at her job. No office on site but she is readily available via text , we brought our dog with us and it is very dog friendly. Pool is heated and a salt water pool. No yucky chlorine smell. Charcoal grills and outdoor seating available. Small town and homey feel place. Just a 3-4 minute walk across street to the beach. Fantastic experience: Clean rooms, beds were amazing! Very nice environment and amenities. Affordable for sure! 5 mins to the beach and 10 min walk to Johns pass. We had great neighbors around the pool and next us. Staff was great especially during this pandemic. We will for sure be staying here every time we come down to Treasure Island!

Fantastic experience: We had an excellent stay at The Bungalows this past weekend (we even extended our stay by 2 nights!). The location was superb! 5 minute walk to the beach, 10 minute walk to Johns pass boardwalk and perfect placement for the sunset from Johns pass Beach! We even brought our pups along and they loved it! The check in and out process was cake! We will be back in August!

Fantastic experience: This is definitely our new vacation spot. They are newly renovated and up to date, they have everything you need. The walkway to the beach across the street is absolutely beautiful and that part of the beach is not crowded at all. Our family had a blast!

Fantastic experience: This is my second 5 star review: we love The Bungalows! We've made it our yearly choice for stays at the beach. It's exactly what we're looking for in a beach vacation. We have two young kids (8 and 5) and unit #7 is the perfect size for us. Couldn't be happier.

Positive experience: To start out the swinging door to the gate doesn’t have a stopper and dinged my car door while we we’re unloading, the pool was very hot, the blankets on the bed are like sand paper, the couch seemed broken and was very uncomfortable to sit on, the lounge chairs were either broken or cracked not sturdy at all. Then we check out and a 1/2 hour later I received an email stating they couldn’t locate any of their towels and would like assistance in knowing the location of them. I called and spoke with the property manager and let her know that we placed all our used towels on the floor in front of the shower, she stated “I will check with the others and see if someone got them” you should’ve done that before emailing me about “missing items”. We only stayed one night, we did like that our room was cute and stayed cool but wouldn’t choose them again.

Fantastic experience: The Bungalows is an awesome place to stay near St.Pete/Tampa. We stayed here with our 2 young children and it had everything we needed: 2 big comfy beds, lots of towels, nice bathroom, clean/remodeled kitchen and a wonderful heated pool. It is right across from a public beach access and there is also a public area to view the bayside just steps from the pool. Everything was very clean and check in and out was easy. We were so impressed. We are definitely coming back.

Fantastic experience: Great place. We rented out all the rooms (large family reunion). The owner has another place right next door as well for overflow. Those rooms were very nice also and clean. It was perfect for a group. The pool was great central meeting point. Had seating with umbrellas, tropical atmosphere and great lounges. The pool is heated and there are pool floats! Their is also a side area great for the kids who want to hang out or play shuffle board. Units 1-5 are surrounding pool area. All of them have kitchenettes, and separate living room spaces from bedrooms. Unit 1 and 2 and 5 are 1 bedroom rooms with pull out couch in living room in room 1 and 5 I’m not sure about unit 2. Unit 3 I’m not sure exact layout But I think it had 2 separate bedrooms. Unit 4 was great! It has largest layout I think, 2 separate bedrooms, separate kitchen and separate living area. Bathroom was big too to hang suits etc. the toiletries were nice too. If you need extra things just call the place and they pick up. They answered every call and were very accommodating to everyone in the group! Any issues they were fixed. Units 6 and 7 were nice and big too. Very cute themes in 7 and outside 7 is a seating area great for snacks and for breakfast and it’s at end of walkway furthest from pool. We had music playing, food cooking and brought in all day. The fridges were large and perfect for large trays of leftover food. No ice machine so we filled the freezer with 6 ice bags. The beach is a 8 minute walk, the cars have to stop to let you cross and they will stop. It’s not luxury but it’s great deal for the price.

Positive experience: Overall good- comfy, quiet air con compared to most other places, guaranteed parking & great location. Shower issue was resolved, twice. Bugs in room on last day but they seemed to be everywhere for some reason!

Positive experience: Nice clean place. The room we had No bedroom separate. You walk in and wam there is your bed. No sofa to sit on. No oven. Never seen the staff the whole time we where there. The rooms very clean. Nice pool area. Close to beach and walking distance to John's Pass. We enjoyed our stay. If you want a separate bedroom. Ask for any other room except unit 2. Not everyone care, but I like a living area and bedroom separate.

Positive experience: Room or unit #1...A one bedroom. I would call this a 2 star ...it's small, but clean. Nothing fancy, however, the pool area and outdoor seating is classier. It's on the other side of the bridge...and I felt a little less safe at ground level.

Fantastic experience: Easy to get to and steps from the beach. The room has everything you need for stay. Everything was immaculate and very quaint. simple accommodations, close to everything and it's a great value. Super easy check-in and checkout. We'll definitely go back!

Fantastic experience: Believe the 5 star reviews! This place is excellent (but not luxurious). Assuming ur going to book here, here’s some info about what’s provided: we had a 2 bdrm 1 bath unit. Included towels, beach blanket, kitchen fully stocked w pots/pans & dishes, shampoo soap conditioner & lotion. Washer $1 & dryer $1.50 on site. Heated pool & pool towels, floaties, beach toys, beach umbrella, beach chairs, propane grill (propane provided) hammocks, kayaks. 5 minutes walk to the edge of the beach, but at least 10 minutes to the water. John’s Pass is an easy 10 minute walk. Grocery store, restaurants, souvenir shops are about a mile away—we figured out after the first day that the trolley bus picks up directly in front of the hotel. Text the phone number with the bus stop (listed on the sign at the bus stop), and it will tell you how many minutes until the next bus picks up. Overall A+ and we’ll be staying here again next time!!

Fantastic experience: We had a fabulous vacation at the Bungalows. Feb 9th 2018 Bungalow has 1-2 bedroom & queen studios. This is what we rented for 2 weeks. Smaller than we have rented in past, but it soon was just perfect for two of us. Grounds have Florida landscape, clean heated pool & parking space. Best best housekeeping staff...wonderful, friendly, helpful. Relaxed not in your room cleaning unless you ask for something. Linen, clean bedding every day or every other. Met awesome people from all over country & Sweden. We had glorious weather & everything in walking distance just over bridge. Travel by car easy also. ⛱ Beach across street, maybe 5 min walk. Safe pedestrian crosswalks on Gulf Blvd. A few small beach chairs we found in laundry room & used for beach time. Comfy sitting areas outside other than pool area. Only suggestion would be hooks or vertical storage to accommodate the small space. Closet one hook. Bath needs hooks & sturdy shelving. Shower was great. Maybe vertical storage. Mainly hooks. Like I said was perfect for 2 of us. We cleverly made space for groceries, toiletries all of our comforts of home & survived 2 weeks in one room. Cozy!! 18 steps to pool from room. Friendly neighborhood & vacationers. Recommended

Fantastic experience: This was a great experience! My girlfriend and I stayed here for a weekend beachcation and absolutely loved it! We stayed in unit #5, which is a pool side one bedroom suite. Everything about it was perfect. The unit was immaculately clean. The pictures perfectly represent the interior. Everything was in perfect working order and up to date. We loved having a fridge for our beers and waters, and a coffee maker where I could make my favorite brew in the morning. Having a pool right out front was perfect! Nobody was ever loud by the pool, so we were not disturbed by the location. The convenience, however, of being 10 steps away from the pool was fantastic! The beach is an easy and quick walk across the street. John's pass is a quick walk over the bridge. This is a fantastic location! I was looking at rooms right on the water for $300+. And for what?!?! This is a better room for 1/4 the price! I will be staying here, in unit 5 actually, again!

Positive experience: “GREAT THANKSGIVING” We are snow birds, just came back to Fl from Mi. We have stayed at the Bungalows before, so we made reservations again for 3 nights. We had a great time on Treasure Island and John's Pass. The rooms are all remolded, clean and best of all the owners are great people. The owners will do everything possible to make your stay perfect. This is truly a destination you want to go stay at. Very nice pool, beautiful rooms, great family owned and operated beach right across the street, Over Thanksgiving we even found a great place to eat. Fun place you must go and stay, oh yeah the price is great too. Don't tell them I told you but if you ask you might get a military or veteran discount. Located less than 1/2 mile south of John's Pass.

Fantastic experience: We stayed here for one night this past weekend. We had room number 5 which has a kitchenette. The room overlooks the pool. It was absolutely adorable. There's a sitting/living room with a flat screen TV, a kitchen with fridge and a microwave and granite countertops. The bathroom has a glass enclosed shower and the sink has a granite countertop as well. Lots of modern updates. The bedroom was a decent size and the bed was comfy! It was very quiet at night, unlike the stories high hotels on the beach side. Gators is right down the road as well as John's Pass. It was clean and comfortable. The wine in the kitchen was a nice touch since it was my birthday! Would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: This is our third time staying here and we were not disappointed. Room was super clean and owners were very friendly and accommodating. Not on the beach but just across the street. The price is right too. Very quiet and relaxing. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn't want to pay those high prices for a beachfront room. Fantastic experience: It is located in a place where you can do most anything you desire by the ocean or bay, close to places to eat and lots of activity nearby also at John's Pass shops. Fishing about 300 Ft. in one direction or about 2000 feet under a bridge. The motel is a family run business with the cleanest rooms and best A/C with good moisture control. A big plus in south FL on the coast. The owners try to make you comfortable giving you a tour of the available amenities which includes a pool, areas to have a small gathering, parking is free and close to the rooms, kayaks, bicycle's and Wi-Fi that works well. Also quiet surroundings. Very family oriented.
