Fantastic experience: I had extremely good experience with Wheel the world booking my hotel in Spain. I have several requirements for a accessible room since I am both a wheelchair user and don’t have enough strength in my upper body to lift myself up in a bed that is taller than I can sit on it without having to climb. I had contacted wheel the world with my requirements Online and I immediately got suggestions for hotels, where the requirements could be guaranteed. Afterwards I was contacted by wheel, the world with a contact address and number and several times before my travels, they reached out and reassured me that if I would have any problems, they would be available trying to solve it. I felt very safe and secure using wheel the world and I will definitely do it again. Tina Nielsen

Fantastic experience: Great journey lots of help all on time

Fantastic experience: Booking Transportion was made easy. Large van with capacity to easily fit my wheelchair and luggage. Driver also had a charging station for my phone. Driver went above and beyond to assist me. My flight was delayed. Then it was canceled. Finally, it was rebooked for later that night. My driver was able to work with me through all of that and eventually pick me up and drop me off at my hotel. Saved my day! Thank you Aimad in Paris!

Fantastic experience: My wife and I recently went on an amazing trip to Greece with Wheel the World. Every aspect of the trip was planned perfectly with friendly and caring tour guides to the van drivers. The hotels, transportation, restaurants and places we toured were all very accessible. We visited some unbelievable archeological sites and museums which brought us back in time thousands of years. The Greek landscape that we saw was beautiful. Overall, I would recommend Wheel the World to everyone that has some physical challenges and would like to see the world.

Fantastic experience: Amazing customer service and experience. I took the group trip to Costa Rica in April 2025 and it was everything I could have hoped for and more. I'd give 10 stars if it would let me.

Fantastic experience: We were finding it really difficult to find an accessible hotel in Paris. Then we found wheel the world we got a hotel we were looking at for cheaper than the price on the hotel website. Wheel the world then dealt with requesting the accessible room for us and even sent us pictures of the hotel room before our stay to check it would be ok. It was so reassuring to have photos and to know which equipment would be best to bring to save bringing everything! Wheel the world can also help with transfers and tours but as we got the eurostar into the city and are independent we didnt use this service. We will definitely be using wheel the world for our next city break!

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience! Traveling with fellow wheelchair users is a game changer! No worries about being too slow, needing accessible bathrooms, or limited participation. We had a great group & learned from each other since all 3 had different diagnoses. Alfie & Charles made the adventure great as they know a lot about accessibility travel. Hats off to Wheel the World South Africa!

Fantastic experience: Very satisfied with my transfers from airport to hotel and hotel to Port of Miami. They texted when on there way and van was perfect for the wheelchair and my children. Would use them again.

Fantastic experience: My husband & I traveled to Egypt. It was the trip of a lifetime. Wheel the world was the best. We flew to a few cities, always personnel from WTW to smoothe our way. Did a cruise. Went to restaurants. Only 1 hotel not really accessible (bad bathroom) but otherwise an amazing trip. We asked WTW to help us program everything we wanted to see - and they did. Recommend!!

Fantastic experience: I discovered Wheel the World for some of my clients, and they had an excellent experience. Each of their four transfers went smoothly, with drivers who were attentive, patient, and responsive to every need. My clients were extremely satisfied and impressed with the high level of service—and they plan to use Wheel the World again in the future. As a Travel Advisor, I also found the company a pleasure to work with. Their communication was prompt, clear, and highly professional throughout the entire process.

Fantastic experience: I’m very anxious on vacations, and this is the first I booked through wheel the world, and let me just tell you if I’m able, I will always book through them. It was so nice knowing that when I was going to go into the hotel room I literally didn’t have to worry about having a bathroom where I wouldn’t be able do everything Or even if my wheelchair was gonna fit. it took all anxiety out of my vacation.

Fantastic experience: This was the first time that I traveled with Wheel the World, and I must say I was positively impressed. They handled literally every detail of the tour. When there were glitches (most of them minor) they were addressed literally immediately. Although it was a grueling ordeal for me physically, the Wheel the World folks made it as easy as they possibly could. Bottom line is that, if you are disabled, these are the folks you want to turn to for travel! Thanks, Wheel the World!

Negative experience: Lovely hotel but roll in shower was not acceptable. The shower head was mounted too high so wand would not reach to wash under chair. Soap dispenser was placed too high on wall to reach. Shower floor drained into bathroom causing a lake on the marble floor. We were shocked that this was a wheel the world reservation. Bed was low; bedroom very tight furniture wise for wheelchair movement.

Negative experience: This is the letter I had to write to inform them of the incident. Unfortunately things didn't get better. He was in pain for the majority of our honeymoon. His pain caused us to miss the majority of our honeymoon activities( all of our excursions). We are debating at this moment whether we are going to take legal action. His pain also caused his diabetes and Gerd to flare up, he was nauseous and unable to enjoy food and drinks, for the majority of our honeymoon. The 3rd party Elite Transportation, vehicle was an older model and seemed banged up. It definitely didn't appear to be elite. After I sent them the letter below, they apologized and offered the funds back for our return ride however that doesn't take away from the memories we missed making on our honeymoon. Good morning, I waited until this morning to write this email. Because I was sooooo upset yesterday. Yesterday we had a pick up set at 4:20 pm. When making the reservations I had an earlier time but was told to give it an hour. I gave your company my flight information. I assumed, my fault, that you would monitor the information in case it's early or late. Our flight came in early. I texted the driver as soon as we landed so they could arrive soon. After receiving our luggage we sat outside in the heat ( my husband in his scooter) waited for transportation for an hour. I did call to inform transportation that we were ready also. Transportation finally comes. He puts the ramp out and my husband starts up the ramp and his scooter tilts backwards and he falls on his back. My husband already has a multitude of medical issues and a bad back is one of them. After removing the scooter from underneath him, my husband had to scoot his way into transportation. The driver then assisted him to the seat. This was the beginning of our honeymoon. Today my husband is in so much pain we might have to go to the ER. He doesn't want because as I stated above it's our honeymoon. I am extremely reluctant to use your service for our ride back to the airport. Also, the transportation van itself wasn't what we expected. It was older and not up to par. I really do not want any of this to reflect badly on the driver. I suppose he did what he's taught to do. I thought he would be behind my husband as he went into the van for assistance, he didn't. I went through your company because we are new to needing transportation. My husband just lost his leg in October. And we are now just able to take our honeymoon. We could have easily used Uber or Lyft, however we chose your company. I'm extremely sad, disappointed, and regretful that we had to start our honeymoon this way. Sincerely, LaTrina Gatison-McMillian

Fantastic experience: This business is totally awesome. I wanted to see Machu Picchu but was told I couldn't because my husband couldn't walk well enough. So I put it out of my mind until I read an article about WheeltheWorld in my AAA magazine. I made arrangements through them and was so happy I did. From the minute we arrived in Cuzco, Julio and two attendants took over and for the following days my husband was #1. He couldn't stop smiling. Hotels & food were excellent, but it was the total attention he received that was just above & beyond what I'd expected. They escorted him in a wheelchair all around the city, to national parks, and finally they carried him into Machu Picchu. I can't say enough nice things about this organization and I tell everyone I know about them. They are FANTASTIC! He is a strict vegetarian - they accommodated that. They made him #1 and he ate it up. BRAVO!

Fantastic experience: For my first travel experience as a wheelchair user, I was so fortunate to use the services of Wheel the World. My team helped me book a hotel that was perfectly accessible in a great location! I needed a hotel room in a specific area in Barcelona for a wedding. The team at WTW not only made it possible to book an accessible room with confidence, but they found a much better deal than I could on my own. They also helped make adjustments to the plans as we decided to extend our stay in Spain. Thank you so much to everyone who helped make my first travel in a wheelchair as breezy as possible. I highly recommend using Wheel the World's services for help planning your next accessible travel.

Fantastic experience: I used WTW for transportation from Cancun to Riviera Maya. They did a great job! I first got an email confirmation right when I requested the trip and it was confirmed, then got more emails as my time got closer and the morning of travel. I met my driver at the transportation area when I arrived in Cancun and already knew his name through an email. Then 3 weeks later got a confirmation when my new driver was picking me up. I even emailed WTW a day prior and changed my pick up time and they were were able to accommodate me!! All in all, it was a great experience! They get a 5 out of 5 from me. I’m using them again later this year in Barcelona, Spain and look forward to the experience!!

Fantastic experience: This service worked out great. Room was perfect. I’m a T3, T4 para. I actually called this service to add a day and they tried, they tried different hotels. It was a booked night because of the concert that was going on that weekend, but the person that was helping me was very patient and more than willing to try options and made sure I was satisfied. Highly appreciated it and I highly recommend this service. It made our experience at the Morgan Wallen concert that much better. We had a great weekend.

Fantastic experience: As a T10 Para traveling has been difficult, there are multiple times I have showed up to a hotel to find that the accessible room I reserved was not available, basically ruining a vacation not being able to shower/bathroom etc. Gunita with Wheel the World made everything smooth on our recent trip to the Dominican Republic, my room i reserved through her was accessible and we had a great vacation! Gunita also handled our able bodied friends traveling with us with their reservation as well, all trouble free. I appreciate that there are options out there for accessible travel, we will use Wheel the World again.

Positive experience: Overall, the stay was excellent. However, the handheld shower was mounted facing the shower curtain, leaving a large water spill outside the curtain causing a fall issue on the bathroom floor. Also, the bed was too high for someone with leg issues. If I had been there by myself, I would have had to spend the night in my 4-wheel walker or on the couch sitting up. Fortunately, my partner was there to help lift my legs onto the bed because my MS does not allow me to lift them that high by myself.

Fantastic experience: We celebrated my parents 50th anniversary in Miami, FL and Wheel the World was a life saver. My dad is in a wheelchair and getting him in and out of a car is almost impossible. Wheel the World was very easy to work with to schedule a transport to the airport. Juna provided great customer service. Our driver was on time and got us to the airport on time. Thank you so much for your help! I highly recommend this service.

Negative experience: What an adventure I had with Wheel the World. I have ALS and I'm wheelchair bound, but I love to travel! From the moment we got off the plane in San Juan Costa Rica all our needs were met from transportation, adventures like white water rafting, traveling on suspended bridges across the jungle, or floating on the Pacific Ocean. The Wheel the World tour guide and driver were exceptional and really committed to helping people with disabilities. I will definitely use them again for my next adventure! FIVE STAR RATING!

Positive experience: tl;dr: WtW needs to work on communication and transparency. I am a frequent solo traveler. For my last two once in a lifetime trips, I've used a travel agency specializing in travel for disabled individuals. For my trip to London and Paris a couple of years ago I used Sage Traveling. For my more recent trip to Iceland, I used WtW. In advertising they brag about how much time and effort they put into ensuring accessibility of hotels. I will say, in this respect WtW did meet expectations. They sent me a photo ahead of time of the shower chair. Thankfully they did because I was able to communicate that it wasn't accessible for me. At first my travel agent, Marta, asked me what I wanted to do about this. I was a bit confused by this response and reminded her that WtW guarantees accessibility of hotels. Thankfully this was quickly resolved when WtW worked with Iceland Unlimited to purchase an accessible shower chair. The piece that I found most frustrating with WtW was the issues of communication. As another reviewer notes, I also had issues with Marta. She was often unresponsive, and I often had to follow-up directly with WtW to receive a response. Closer to my trip, Marta was no longer with WtW and I was handed off to a new travel agent, Daniela, who was better at responding. It wasn't until quite far along in the planning process that I was informed (and only because I asked) that WtW was actually just acting as an intermediary and that my trip was being taken care of by Iceland Unlimited. Part of the issue of WtW acting as an intermediary between another company, is communication. There were aspects of the trip that weren't communicated between myself and Iceland Unlimited. For example, I believe if I had been communicating with Iceland Unlimited directly, clearer information would have been provided to me about the Blue Lagoon. Blue Lagoon ended up not being accessible to me but Marta assured me that it was completely accessible. The other issue of WtW acting as an intermediary means I was paying two companies for services. I can't confirm this - another big issue - lack of transparency with cost - but it would make sense that I was paying both of them because both companies were technically working on this trip. As another reviewer notes below, when they did more research on the hotels that WtW offered them, they found that the quote WtW provided them was $4,000 more than what they came up with when they looked up the same hotels. They also found that WtW charged about $250-300 more per person for tours than the actual cost that the same tour company was charging if booked directly with them. I had a similar experience - unfortunately, I didn't catch this before my trip. I realized this after. Which is why I'm leaving this review - to hopefully help someone else from making the same mistake I made. Do your research! Similar to another reviewer below, WtW also tried charging me more - they didn't account for one of the payments I had already made. WtW needs to provide transparency on costs. When I worked with Sage Traveling, they provided a breakdown of costs so I could see how much was the hotel, the tours, the transfers (i.e. accessible transportation) AND how much I was paying Sage Travel for services. I understand that disabled travel agencies need (and should) be paid for their services. I also understand that unfortunately, disabled services i.e. transportation comes with much higher costs. But WtW should be transparent about these costs - provide a clear breakdown of all costs of services. Finally, one of my tours with Iceland Unlimited was canceled - which was fine. I was told by the tour guide I would receive a refund. They even spoke with their supervisor to confirm this. And yet, it took a month upon return and again having to reach out directly to WtW when Daniela became unresponsive, to finally get that refund processed.

Positive experience: We had fun during our trip to Greece. We traveled a lot on excursions and rode in a van to places in the middle of nowhere but they packed in so many different things for us to enjoy. Our last day was enjoyable as we embarked on our own, after getting directions from our driver, to places we thoroughly enjoyed not far from our hotel. Thanks for making our trip to Greece packed with more fun and educational activities. The driver was excellent in so many ways. Kudos to all of you and your efforts. We both enjoyed it.

Fantastic experience: My parents are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on a trip to Tulum, Mexico, but my mother uses a wheelchair. Wheel the World, especially our representative, Carlos, has done everything possible to make the airport transfer shuttle accessible for my mother. My husband and I are grateful that Wheel the World offers this service. Carlos has gone above and beyond to answer our questions by email and to assure that Mom can travel with us for this special occasion. Thank you, Carlos! I recommend Wheel the World.

Negative experience: I have always considered myself a friend of Wheel the World. I've taken a couple of their tours and am scheduled on another tour in 2025. However, I recently traveled with friends who also need accessible accommodations and Wheel the World purportedly had vetted a hotel in Prague as fully and truly accessible. Given that Wheel the World has a "money back guarantee" that the hotel had been verified as accessible, we booked our stay on Prague through them. When we arrived the hotel did not have us booked in 2 accessible rooms. After hours of back and forth between the hotel, Wheel the World, and my friends, my friends were moved to an accessible room the 2nd day. However, this hotel's "accessible" rooms were anything but truly accessible. Other than a partially accessible bathroom, the room was far from truly accessible. Despite very detailed emails and pictures to Wheel the World and their assurance that they would refund our money for this stay, days later they issued a refund of approx. 11% of what we'd paid. I've yet to receive any explanation for the disparity between their guarantee and the refund issued. So, the take away for me is that Wheel the World is good at group tours. They are NOT good at vetting properties as accessible accommodations.

Fantastic experience: We had a great trip to S Africa! Everything was arranged and successfully accommodated my needs. I rented an electric wheelchair (for Safari days) and a scooter (for Cape Town) as recommended by our tour guide and I was glad I did. Alfie, and Charles, were attentive and provided wonderful tours and meals. The safari’s were exciting and Cape Town was stunning. The food, tours and fellow travelers made for a memorable trip.

Negative experience: Sandos, all inclusive resort in Cancun, is Not accessible to persons in wheelchairs. The grounds inside and outside are accessible but the rooms are not. I was miserable with my room. I could barely use the bathroom. Thanks to my husband’s help, moving the furniture and moving me around too, he made it tolerable. This was to be his special birthday vacation. Wheel the World was a great travel agency in planning my family’s trip to Cancun. Carlos was my agent who set up everything (hotel, transport, excursions) He was very helpful however they need to physically confirm the hotel rooms can accommodate people in wheelchairs before stating it accessible. I would’ve given a much higher rating than 2 stars if the rooms were Truly accessible.

Fantastic experience: Had the most amazing experience with Wheel the World traveling to Peru to see Manchu Pichu!! Our journey began when the company met us at the Cusco airport and dropped us off at our hotel to leave our bags. The van was big and very accessible which had the capability of transporting me, my family, and the team of four people that assisted me and my wheelchair up Manchu Pichu. Once we dropped off the bags at our hotel we took a Car; then train; and then Bus up to the Mountain. Our tour guide was so incredibly helpful. He was English speaking and very knowledgable of Peruvian culture and Inca history. They made what would have been a tremendously difficult experience to embark alone very seamless and accessible. I will absolutely use this company again going forward in the remainder of my world travels. I am so happy that a company like this exists to provide everyone - regardless of their mobility the chance to see the world and experience these once in a lifetime moments. There is no other company out there quite like this one. They were professional and trustworthy. I cannot recommend them enough.

Fantastic experience: I traveled with my husband and 2 of his friends. My husband is a C4/5 tetraplegic. We had an amazing trip to South Africa. It was everything we expected and so much more. All of the transportation and lodging went flawless. Everyone we encountered was more than happy to help accommodate us. We started at the private reserve Tshukudu Bush Camp. There we went on a bush walk and 3 accessible open air safari drives. There were 3 human friendly cheetahs there that they had rescued. It was unreal that they were walking amongst us and even lounging by the pool with us. We were able to pet them and even drank water from my hand. Unbelievable! We also went to see Jessica the Hippo while there. Another encounter with a wild animal that has been rescued. We were able to feed her and even giver her a kiss. The ramp to get down to her was steep but again the staff were very helpful in getting my husband down to the dock. Next, we spent 4 nights in Kruger at 2 different rest stops. We did am and pm safari drives in Alfies van. There was not air conditioning in the van so in November it was rather hot. My husband managed ok as in between he would enjoy the air conditioning in our cottages at the rest camp. You put the windows down to take pictures so air-conditioning in the van would not be necessarily helpful anyhow. Alfie was incredibly knowledgeable and did everything he could to get us to see all the wild life. We saw the big 5 and so much more. We couldn't have asked for a better tour guide!! Not to be forgotten is Charles. He helps Alfie with everything. However when out on the drives, Charles is getting food ready for us. Everything he made was spectacular!! We had several braai (outdoor grill) and will not forget his spaghetti Bolognese. Alfie and Charles are an amazing team that will take the best care of you. We chose to eat out one evening at the Rail Station in Skukuza rest camp. The food was wonderful there as well. The prices of food and drink are extremely reasonable. So much less than what they cost in USA. After a drive back to Johannesburg, we caught a flight to stunning Cape Town. There we stayed at the most idyllic place in Noordhoek. The 20 room inn was amazing. It's set in an area with a courtyard surrounded by a bar, café, tapas restaurant and several cute stores. The Inn had an amazing sushi restaurant and complimentary made to order breakfasts and really good coffee. In Cape Town we visited 2 wineries, the Waterfront, Table Mountain, Cape of Good Hope, Cape Point and Boulder Beach with the penguins. Alfie was able to share so much information with us. He explained the townships to us and made sure we were always safe. We had an extra day with how we arranged our flight home and Alfie arranged an unbelievable excursion for us out our request. We all went paragliding off signal hill. They took excellent care of us and it was exhilarating to say the least. I cannot believe my husband was able to do it also. It is difficult to sum up the unforgettable experience we had but hope this encourages anyone to take the leap and go on this adventure.

Positive experience: Found us a great room with a view, perfect bed height. Helpful when needed to make adjustments to reservation. Kind and understanding staff. The hotel restaurant was closed for renovations and we were not told this, but that was the only issue that affected our stay. Finding accessible hotel rooms is such a hassle that I would book with wheel the world every time to guarantee certain details are always there.

Fantastic experience: The trip to Greece was beyond my dreams. Care Under Sun was amazing. A shout out to Sabine, Yurii, and Anna! It was extremely accessible. They took such good care of the group. Making sure we were warm, hydrated, and happy. A tour is the way to go. We saw small towns, victories, ancient villages. We wheeled our way to hotels that provided accessible care. We interacted with the Greek. We saw vineyards, mountains and seas. I want to go back to Greece!

Fantastic experience: I have just returned from WTW's Barcelona Tour. People make the experience exceptional and our tour guides along with local coordinator Carola, were welcoming and informed hosts. At first glance, the tour looks thin on activities, but it was anything but. Each day found us exploring in detail the various sites, because of the knowledge of the tour guides. The bus that transported us was excellent and two of the three drivers were outstanding. This was my first adventure overseas and I wanted to know that I could rely on a company/group that could handle the details. Dealing with a mobility disability is enough work when travelling solo. From my personalized airport pick up to my depart, I was at total ease and it allowed me to really enjoy the experience. .... I am a solo traveller, manual pusher in an ultralight chair, so some advice: Barcelona is very accessible but there are hills. I would recommend a power assist for your manual chair. (My watch told me I pushed about 3-5 kms each day.) Be aware that there are significant inclines/declines at Sagrada Familia and at Park Guell. Don't hesitate to ask for assistance. The Hotel Radisson Blu 1882 was an excellent choice with fully accessible accommodation and support staff.

Positive experience: The process of booking through Wheel the World was fairly seamless, and the price was reasonable. However, when we got to the hotel, there was no roll-in shower (tub with a flip-down bath bench), the room itself was small, there was no accessibility to the room's balcony, and the hotel itself didn't have any accessible door openers. I think we could have done just as good a job in finding a hotel that would've fit our needs.

Fantastic experience: The trip to Cancun was a lot of fun. Among the highlights were the resort itself, xoxicolpo boat/dinner and festivities, and Chichén Itzá. The fact that it was the week leading up to the Day of the Dead was a definite perk (except at xcarit which was mobbed and a lot of things were closed because of the holiday, but it was still a lot of fun). Our tour leader, Luis Mario, was terrific, always helpful.

Fantastic experience: I would give 10 stars if I could, honestly. I did a lot of research before booking our tour and Wheel the World lived up to every word in their marketing and presentation. We spent over a week touring Greece and the team literally thought of everything—all accessibility needs were met and exceeded. We could not have been happier with our experience. The guides were thoughtful and caring. The accommodations were great. We had a wonderful time because of all the details covered by the staff and team at Wheel the World.

Positive experience: I recently went on a group tour to Costa Rica! The trip was truly a once in a lifetime experience. The times for leaving and meals were somewhat flexible which made mornings and meal times more low key and relaxing and the tour guide was able to customize the tour based on what we wanted to see and do which made for an enjoyable and fully immersive experience. The tour guide and driver were super knowledgeable about the areas and made extra stops along the way so that we could see the incredible wildlife and try food. The surfing and hanging bridge tour were probably my favourite parts. They also allowed for downtime which allowed me to recharge and get to hang out and get to know the others on the trip more. The terrain was beautiful, however I could have benefited from bringing a power assist device for my wheelchair to achieve optimal independence while exploring. The terrain had lots of hills so I needed help pushing more than I do at home. That being said everyone was super friendly and willing to help out, so while not a necessity, for comfort I will bring a wheelchair power assist next time. My only critique/wish is that the tour guide and driver were a little more careful with my mobility devices as I had to adjust parts of them multiple times throughout the trip due to them being moved or banged around in the back of the vehicle.

Fantastic experience: Gunita from Wheel the World made our travels so much easier! My experience dealing with her was the best! She cared about every step of the way on our journey. Thanks a million for having such a great employee working for your company.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful time on the September 2023 Wheel the World trip to Iceland. Planning, communication and hotel accommodations were generally very good. The van used for excursions was exactly what our group needed, and the driver was very informative, helpful and also lots of fun. The Wheel the World representative felt like a real member of the group but also was skilled in promoting group spirit and enjoyment. We were three couples, an adult child of one of the couples and me, a single, four of us with varying levels of disability. We had never met before this trip.

Fantastic experience: I recently returned from a group tour to Costa Rica with my husband. It was the most amazing experience from the time our driver Alan picked us up at the airport in San Jose, to meeting Diego our incredible, informative Costa Rican tour guide who made every excursion enjoyable and absolutely worry free! We were immersed in the culture, beautiful landscapes, and amazing wildlife that Costa Rica has to offer! It was a truly amazing and unique experience and I can't wait to travel with Wheel the World in the future!

Fantastic experience: WOW. What an incredible and enriching experience I got to share with not only my mother, but with new friends. As a caregiver, sometimes I feel overwhelmed with making sure everything is “just right,” as far as accessible accommodations, navigating the best route for chairs along a path, communicating needs, etc. Wheel the World, partnered with Careundersun, seamlessly shouldered most of that responsibility, allowing me to enjoy the trip less as a caregiver and more as her daughter and a guest. I felt confident that my mother was in safe, secure, and confidant hands. The smaller group setting felt far more intimate than the larger tour groups. Looking forward to more trips!!!

Fantastic experience: This was our first time traveling since I became totally confined to a wheelchair and we were a bit nervous, needlessly as it turned out. The tour directors took care of everything! Besides being competent and caring, they're just fun people to be around. They fed us good food and watched for the slightest hint of discomfort; we felt cherished. We appreciated the pace of the tour - each day we had some much appreciated personal time. We did some traveling around prior to joining the tour, booking a hotel room in Athens and a Bosphorus Strait boat tour on our own. "Wheelchair accessible" doesn"t mean the same to everybody!! We had even more appreciation for Wheel the World's eyes-on expertise. They are the best!!!

Fantastic experience: LOVED our group tour to Greece!!! The planning was excellent—whether taking us to spectacular accessible ruins, or arranging transport and lodging every day to accommodate all our wheelchairs, we had nothing to worry about. The guides were knowledgeable, fun, and competent—every event was delightful with these quality people! And it was fun to meet our fellow travelers—the group size was intimate enough to share experiences and make new friends. Amazing experience! Thank you Wheel the World!!!

Fantastic experience: Just returned from a group tour of Greece. It was an extraordinary experience that Wheel the World provided. The company they contract with was knowledgeable, professional, accommodating and were able to adapt to changing circumstances fluidly. The accommodations were spot on (I'm in a wheelchair) & the activities/tours were so accessible. Even the town excursions were spectacular and accessible. I have utilized Wheel the World for several trips and have never been disappointed. I will be booking with them again.

Positive experience: My reservation to NYC was made quick and painless. The hotel room was selected by my preference. It had a roll-in shower. The hotel was very accessible. We decided to leave one day earlier and Wheel The World refunded the cost.

Fantastic experience: We used Wheel the World for our recent travels thru Europe and they were amazing with verifying hotel info on accessibility. I appreciate all you all do to ensure all went well with each hotel. I have to say all the hotels were clean, bed height was perfect, just 2 I encounter some minor issues, and we notify WTW, but all was resolved fast, and the hotel staff was amazing in helping us. The hotel in London was outstanding! If I can give them 100 stars I would. The 2 in France where very accommodating and help resolved the minor issues, like the necessity of an accessible toilet, so they too get 5 stars in my book. Spain and Ireland where amazing as well. All in all, we loved it, and you all were so helpful thru the reservations, while at vacation, that we are looking forward to our next adventure with you guys!!! We will definitely be using your expertise for all our future travels. xoxox

Fantastic experience: Just finished exploring the world without limits all thanks to Wheel the World. I am so beyond thankful for the amazing opportunity to travel to Iceland and do what I love most, with the support and encouragement of the most amazing company I’ve ever come across. I’ve never felt more free on an adventure and I’ll never forget the friends and memories made. Now, I just can’t wait for the next adventure. A thousand thanks to WTW and our amazing guide Alan Guardia for helping orchestrate the exploration of a lifetime on the beautiful island of Iceland. And thank you to the founder of Wheel the World for really following through with the mission- exploring without limits and helping enhance not only the experience but the lives of individuals with disabilities overall. I’m a traveler with confidence even more so now and my gratitude is endless.

Fantastic experience: We booked three hotels via WtW and for the most part they were good for my boyfriend who uses a manual wheelchair. It is so difficult since every disabled person has their specific capabilities and preferences. We wish there was a better system in place for communicating, especially outside the US. The Grand Hotel Palatino in Rome had a lift to get into the hotel lobby that was pretty quick and the staff were very responsive when we needed it. The room was nice, but the bathroom technically too small as he could not turn his chair around in it. The staff were excellent and the breakfast, restaurant and bar were good. This hotel is also in a hilly area so was a challenge overall going out and about. The Corona d'Italia in Florence had a VERY small elevator; thankfully they had two each oriented differently so one worked better for entering/exiting with a wheelchair. The room and bathroom sizes were great, but there was a tub in our room with only external handrails and a VERY high edge to climb over to get in and out, even for me. The tub as also very slippery and my bf fell on the first day before figuring out a way to make it work. We wouldn't stay here again unless we could be confirmed to have a roll-in shower. It was also a very popular spot (easy walk from the train station and next to the Mercato Centrale) and there were large numbers of people in the breakfast space each morning, which was a challenge and kept the staff running to keep food replenished; long lines for the two espresso machines. The staff at the front desk and in the breakfast room were responsive. Our last and best-liked hotel was back in Rome, the Hotel Palatino. The room and bathroom were very accessible. They don't have an in-house bar/restaurant, but the breakfast area and food was awesome. There are multiple places to eat and grab a drink right outside the door. It is in a very busy and loud part of Rome, but except for the first night our room was quiet from outside noise (I think there was an Irish bar below our window the first night with some rowdy people playing bongos at 4am). If you head towards the Trevi fountain from here it was very hilly, but towards Campo di Fiori was good for my bf. Gunita and all the folks at WtW were also very responsive and checked in regularly; helping us arrange a transfer to the airport during our stay that we hadn't planned previously.

Fantastic experience: I really enjoyed my recent mini vacation in San Diego. The whole process was great. The website really made it easy to find the appropriate room. The hotel was awesome. Everyone was polite and helpful. The room was well designed and easy to maneuver. Just a great stay and nice hotel.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I recently spent a week in Greece with Wheel the World. It was an awesome experience and exceeded our expectations. The activities were just right for my level of mobility and I feel we got the whole Greek experience. The staff was kind, fun and very organized and professional. It was nice just to meet in the lobby each morning, load up in the van and enjoy the day without having to make any decisions. We highly recommend this trip, and are considering another one!

Fantastic experience: We took the tour to Iceland and it was amazing! The tours and sights were well-planned and beautiful, and every level of accessibility was accommodated. Our tour guide was very kind and always available; our driver knew everything about iceland and probably gave himself a hernia getting my scooter in and out of the bus! It was also a great service that they had a motorized scooter available for me to rent so i didn't have to deal with the hassles of getting my own chair there. All in all it was a great trip!

Fantastic experience: My husband and I went to Greece on a group tour through Wheel the World in September and had the best time! They were with us the whole way from picking us up from the airport to the hotels, to the tours! Everything was accessible and fit our needs! No stress! Loved not having to worry about finding accessible transportation or researching the area to find hotels and tours to accommodate. Can't wait to travel with them again!

Positive experience: I used WTW to craft a custom Barcelona itinerary for our family of 3 - me, my husband, and 23 year old daughter - and it was fantastic! Hotel was amazing (big room and bathroom with a roll-in shower, spacious elevators, delicious breakfast buffet, great location very near the Sagrada Familia but in a local neighborhood with nearby restaurants and groceries/pharmacies. The guides were so informative and passionate about what they do and the van drivers were very helpful and punctual. The only reason I'm not doing 5 stars is because I wish WTW was more proactive in confirming logistics and local contacts as the trip neared. They also said that there was no adapted/accessible room available for 3 people so we had to book 2 rooms (double accessible room and a single regular room) but turns out our accessible room was set up for 3 so we could've saved on room costs.

Fantastic experience: The Best Western Hotel in Savanah Historic district was great, the breakfast was as described, plenty to eat and cook your own waffles was easy and good. The only problem we encountered was the toilet in the Handicap room was lower than a standard toilet, we really needed an elevated toilet for my wife.

Fantastic experience: This is a great web site. Europe has no Americans with Disabilities Act, so you will be hard pressed to find accessible rooms online. You can call a hotel to reserve a handicapped room, but Wheel the World guarantees the room is accessible and provides pictures of the actual room and measurements. We had a great time in Amsterdam and I hope they recruit even more hotels in Europe that have been renovated and are accessible for a spectrum of mobility and accessibility issues.

Fantastic experience: The room was very nice and the staff was very responsive to my needs. The bed needed to be lowered and it was promptly taken care of. The bathroom was fully accessible. I had no problem accessing the shower or using the sink or the toilet. Lastly, there were plenty of towels.

Fantastic experience: Used Wheel the World to book hotels and transfers on a three week excursion through Spain and Italy. The hotels were sufficient for my needs. The drivers showed up early and were helpful and professional. I would suggest asking Wheel the World for details on the company they hired for transfers as I had an issue connecting with the driver in the Barcelona airport as I didn't know he was a taxi.

Fantastic experience: We had wanted to go to Alaska for years, but because I am in a wheelchair, we were hesitant to take the plunge. Then I saw an ad for Wheel The World. What I read ,made me feel I could trust them. I will shout their praises from the rooftops!! Everything was so smoothly taken care of. We had an incredible trip! Gunita, from Wheel The World did such a fantastic job. Thank you for making our dream come true!

Fantastic experience: If you are looking for ADA-compliant accommodations in the US, Wheel the World is the only way to go. I had looked for a roll-in shower w/grab bars, for weeks in the Dallas area, without success. I happened on Wheel the World’s website, and they found the only hotels where this was available. I was even able to talk to them on the phone!

Connor Downer 11 months ago

Negative experience: They are great, minus almost over charging me $700 because they didn't keep track of my payments. Thankfully I questioned the invoice. Keep track of your payments because you might end up being overcharged. Also, some staff are horrible at replying to emails, taking weeks to reply. Their standard needs to be improved. As someone who has traveled multiple times with them, I am actually considering not working with them due to the lack of professionalism from said staff member.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful location. Kept balcony door open all night to hear the ocean. Breakfast at Mist restaurant was delicious, plenty of choices. On the high side of $5 for coffee or soda, and the dinner menu didn’t offer enough; overpriced steak and no taste with the Prime Rib. Would definitely stay there again.

Fantastic experience: The South Africa tour was fabulous, and we have little complaint. We had a couple of hiccups on accessibility, however, including restrooms at the wine tasting and lack of grab bars in the shower at one location. Alfie and Charles were super helpful as well. The group size was perfect as well - 9 people makes for a nice size tour group.

Fantastic experience: Wheel the World staff was incredibly helpful for this first-time user. They confirmed my needs for hotel accessibility and responded quickly to my questions. Before the trip began, they sent contact info in the case of problems along the way which I didn't need to use, but found very impressive. Definitely will contact them again!

Fantastic experience: Our accommodations in Las Vegas at the Luxor were excellent. When we had a question regarding an upgrade that we did not request, Wheel the World was there for us, even gave us a call to confirm and reassure us that this upgrade was handled by them and did not cost us any additional money. We will definitely use them again for our next travel needs.

Fantastic experience: Wheel the World provided exceptional support and knowledge in assisting our planning of a recent trip to France and Spain which included attendance at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Their knowledge of the countries, accommodations, and the travel challenges were critical in planning our trip. They provided detailed information with photos, measurements, and data which allowed us to make decisions on the accommodations, locations, and activities that best suited us. We had a wonderful adventure on this month long journey due in no small part to their recommendations , assurances, and arrangements for lodging, transportation, and activities. We will continue to use them in our future travels and give them our highest recommendation for others.

Fantastic experience: Had a great trip to South Africa. The tour guide was amazing, went out of his way repeatedly to ensure an epic trip for everyone. The animals were majestic on our safaris and the penguins were so fun to watch. All of the accommodations were completely accessible. No stress at all. Thanks Wheel the World for a great trip!

Fantastic experience: FANTASTIC!! In August 2024, I traveled to Costa Rica with a Wheel the World tour group and it was a fantastic experience on so many levels. All the concerns of accessible travel were addressed reducing our stress so we could focus on having an amazing, safe, and fun adventure. Our travel guide Diego was knowledgeable, respectful, and so fun, and our driver Andreas was very skilled! Our small group quickly became a warm and thoughtful family as we all enjoyed San Jose, Arenal, Jaco and Manuel Antonio together. All three of our hotels were nicely accessible, food was amazing, many memories created, and I must say that I will tour with Wheel the World again with great confidence. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: I just got back from a wonderful dream trip to South Africa with Wheel the World. The trip was wonderful and exceeded my expectations. Alfie, our guide was wonderful and knowledgable and made sure our trip was top notch. The highlight was time at the Tshukudu game reserve where we got to "walk with cheetahs!" I highly recommend using Wheel the world for your accessible travel experiences. I know I will.

Negative experience: Worst experience ever. Followed instructions from driver and posted our gate number as requested. Then the texting stopped. Called Jeffery who claims to be the manager. It took four or five calls to get him to text us back. His response was that the vehicle was at our location. Sure it was, door 7. We texted driver door 24. Sorry for the error expressed Jeffery, driver was new. Only give us partial payment. We had to get another vehicle to our hotel. Spoke to Wheels of the World. She was no help. She had hard time getting in touch with management. We finally spoke to her later that evening and requested a full refund. I do not recommend this company! Take your chances with the airport liaison. He was helpful and got us an accessible vehicle. Total time spent at airport in Miami, 3 hours! Then Jeffery wanted to add his opinion about their pick up policy. They have 45 minutes to from the time we text door number to pick us up. Juna the sales representative never mentioned that. Again don’t book this company and pay in advance. They will not get you the transportation you need. But they will take your money!!!

Wheel the World
Wheel the World

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We deeply regret that the pick-up process did not meet your expectations and that you had to take another taxi. While our vehicle was on the door 7, on its way to door 24, we understand that this led to confusion, and we apologize for the inconvenience.
The 45-minute pick-up window was included in the payment link, and although we added an extra grace waiting period, it’s clear that this information might not have been communicated clearly enough. We’re taking your feedback seriously and will work on improving how we convey these details.
Your experience underscores why we created Wheel the World—to make accessible travel more reliable. We appreciate your feedback and will use it to enhance our services moving forward.
Thanks for sharing your feedback

Negative experience: Our experience with Wheel the World was somewhat disappointing. Essentially, we were led to believe that WTW made arrangement with another travel agency (Travel Curious was mentioned at least a few times) and left it to Travel Curious to handle everything on a day-to-day basis. This hand-off was not entirely smooth. While the tour guides showed up on time and were OK (none were great, one was good, the others were mediocre), at least 2 were unaware they were dealing with someone in a wheelchair. Both adjusted as well as could be expected, it was very disappointing to realize such an important detail had not been conveyed. Even more disappointing was learning – while on way to Stonehenge – that the trip advertised as a visit to “Stonehenge and Bath” was only going to Stonehenge. While I emailed our WTW contact immediately, I received no response – not that day, or the following day, or even now, almost a week later. Unfortunately, this was typical of our WTW contact (Marta), who was somewhat unresponsive from the very beginning and required constant follow up to get answers to basic questions. The hotel arranged by WTW was also just mediocre – the location was convenient and it was clean, but the hotel had A/C issues leading to some uncomfortable sleeping, the gym was pretty minimal, and the breakfast, though included, was not great. All in all, we got to see most of what we expected (except Bath), but WTW seemed to provide relatively little value

Fantastic experience: This agency helped us with our travel plans to Paris, France for the Olympics. It was nerve wracking to try to arrange transportation for the events. Their help was invaluable, especially arranging for the driver who helped us to and from the airport. I don't think we could have navigated that maze without him.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic! They answered my countless questions. On the trip everything was better than planned.

Negative experience: Hotel Mercure Paris Bastille Saint Antonine staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The hotel is located within easy walking distance of ACCOR Arena and the Bercy transportation hub which made it a an added pleasure for Olympic event access. Their breakfast fare was good. On the negative side, while they deployed a 6' suitcase ramp at the entrance, traversing this hotel access point remained quite hazardous and is totally inappropriate for any hotel, especially so when purporting to be 'accessible' to wheelchair users. Further, the bathroom in our hotel room is only partially accessible. As per the attached pics, the roll-in-shower was great, the motion-activated (tiny) sink was plenty functional but toilet access for use with a shower/commode wheelchair is completely non existent. I could recommend this room/hotel for ppl who can stand and step, NOT AT ALL for ppl who use a wheelchair full time for their mobility.

Positive experience: My experience with Wheel the World has been varied. The application that allows us to search for accessible hotels has been very helpful and easy to use. On the other hand, working directly with employees for transportation and other assistance has been disappointing. it seems that they may be overwhelmed and it is a challenge to get emails and calls back. I’ve also found a couple of them to be somewhat rude at times. I’m hoping that things will improve because the service is invaluable.
