Negative experience: If I could give AAA a 0-star review for their complete lack of care, I absolutely would. They left me stranded in freezing temperatures for 3 hours because of their failure to do their job. First, I was told there was a "computer glitch," then they promised someone would be there in 30 minutes. When no one showed up, I contacted the towing company directly, only to be told they never received the order and were still over an hour away. This is in no way the towing company’s fault, but AAA's total incompetence.

Positive experience: This review is two fold. The insurance service is poor at best for homeowners, but their Auto coverage is terrific. The last and only time I requested roadside assistance in downtown they failed to show up after two hours and the TDot truck was able to get me rolling.

Negative experience: Called last night around 11:20 for a tow. Was about 20 minutes from home. Waited over an hour and a half just for them to call me and tell me they didn’t have anyone available and I either had to leave my car on the side of the interstate or find my own towing. Frustrated that it was almost 1 am by the time they let me know that they weren’t going to help me. Right after getting off the phone I found a 24 hour online towing, very quickly might I add) and I ended up getting home at like 3:30 am. So much for having a membership if they can’t even help

Negative experience: I scheduled a tow online. I called to confirm the location of my truck because I was an hour away from home. They still sent the tow truck to my home. We waited over 3 hours and they didn't even offer to send another tow truck.

Negative experience: Was on the way to move into college for my freshman year, we were using a rental vehicle and ran out of gas on an interstate. I was supposed to be there by 1 to move in to my dorm. Called AAA with my membership and it's been over an hour and they still haven't arrived. The system when calling and speaking to the bot is horrible, doesn't give you time to answer the questions it asks and is so slow. Now I am going to be late for my first day of college and am stranded on an interstate getting honked at by oncoming traffic. Have called them once before in the past and waited two hours and they never arrived so we had to get a friend to come down. Considering canceling my membership, this is ridiculous.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with AAA! Left me stranded on august 23rd. One the hottest evenings of summer. My truck refused to start at dentist so I did roadside on my app. At around 5pm. Multiple recordings saying delays. After a 6 mile walk in the extreme heat home I called another wrecker service to pick up my truck and bring it home. At 1145 that night I canceled the roadside. Without so much as a text or call from dispatch in 6 hours. Very unsatisfied customer.

Negative experience: AAA will take no responsibility for random towing services they call, that damage your vehicle. They will waste your time pretending they are investigating and hope you give up calling them. Poor customer service and unprofessional Service Monitors. Will never use AAA again.

Negative experience: 1/12 I tried the link provided to ask for a flat tire, said only tow available, at 5pm. Seeing as it was 1220 we called in. They cancelled the tow and set it up for just an air fill - extremely rude representative. Link said 1236 for service. At 1240, link updates to 12NaN. Waited awhile, link updated to 145PM. At 150 called for update, found out it was canceled at 120PM. Scheduled again, said 106PM. Called at 126, was told there were nothing scheduled on my account. Extremely upset about the 2 canceled waits. I cannot imagine renewing my membership, or recommending AAA in the future. Your services have fallen to an unacceptable level.

Negative experience: Let me add yet one more “They left me stranded.” Only it was a family member. I think the woman she was in contact with was bothered that she called her back after a long time of not hearing from her. They can help her out tomorrow, was the final answer. Wow.

Negative experience: It took from 2 am until 7 am for someone to arrive while I was stranded. This is unacceptable service. I called back 4 times. It seems to me that another facility should have been called earlier. Every time I called, I was told it would be an hour. So terribly unhappy. The first facility should be removed from AAA providers!!

Negative experience: DON’T DO IT!! AAA will leave you stranded at the side of the road in blistering heat and lie to you about your tow, which will never arrive. My wife and I just suffered a horrendous experience in rural TN in which she was almost hospitalized. If you are considering AAA and drive anywhere that is not a city, just DONT!

Negative experience: Still waiting ….almost 2hours.call to check on the progress and unfortunately they “must have a system problem” but my roadside request information wasn’t sent out” although I spoke with them on the phone. Sorry you will have to wait another hour. Have been a platinum member since 2011. Have used maybe once or twice.

Negative experience: Truly the most useless and convoluted way to get a tow or any assistance at all. All i need is someone with a jack and yet ive sat for 3 hours on the side of the interstate with no help whatsoever. Its truly incredible that i can sit on the phone for any hour just to be told that they dont have anyone to send and that they told their dispatch and their dispatch will contact other companies to see who can get out to us. Im 10 minutes outside of Knoxville this is a joke. Im also so glad they have a app that is no help whatsoever.

Negative experience: My experience with AAA Knoxville was awful. I have been with AAA California for over 30 years and went with AAA Knoxville when I moved to Tennessee. When I purchased my home I took out mortgage insurance with AAA Knoxville. After six months AAA Knoxville cancelled my policy without notifying me for non payment. My insurance was set up to be paid thur my escrow account and a payment was made when I purchased the home. It was not until it was time to renew that I found out it had been cancelled. When I tried to get an explanation they could not give me one. They told me they could write a new policy but it would be through an underwriter and cost me almost double my original policy. I ended up going with another insurance company and cancelled my auto insurance with AAA Knoxville as well. I am very dissatisfied with AAA Knoxville and would not recommend them to anyone.

Negative experience: I've been a AAA member since 1991 and have had stellar service up until the past couple of years. The last 3 times I have used their roadside assistance service, I have waited over 2 hours before a tow truck showed up. This time, at the 2 1/2 hour mark I just called my own tow truck...it arrived in 15 min. I will be cancelling my membership first thing in the morning as I will not be stranded in the rain on the side of the road again. A happy customer tells 10 other people... An unhappy customer tells 100... And I have a big mouth...

Fantastic experience: So I get to Downtown Knoxville specifically S. Gay St. and I proceed to turn my car off (and what I thought) grab my key and manually lock the door and start heading to a bar with my friends (while on vacation btw) then I realized I didn't have my key. My Keychain had disconnected from my key and I was holding the key chain while the key was still in ignition so I was locked out. Guy show up from AAA half hour later and gets into my car within minutes. Great experience, fast service totally satisfied

Negative experience: I have been a Gold Member for 17 years. Last night my 79 year old mother (associate member on my account) had car trouble. I drove to where she was and I sat with her until "help" arrived. Our original call was at 7:15 PM. After sending a person with a jumper box (no luck) the first hour, and us calling back three times in THREE HOURS, we finally got the car 1/2 mile down the road to a repair shop at 11:10 PM !!! I will DEFINITELY be reconsidering my choice of "Roadside Emergency Assistants" company in March 2020. I thank GOD it was close to our house, and NOT on the side of the interstate where she would have been alone.

Negative experience: Waited for 2+ hours on the side of a highway with a 1 year old no updates not nothing had to find my own tow smdh what a waste of time. Pray you don’t brake down by Knoxville. Spoke with supervisors and had to call 4 times since they couldn’t tell me anything and after requesting to have them keep searching they canceled my request.

Fantastic experience: I went there for getting international driver's license with my family. Staffs were very friendly and works so fast!! 미국에서 국제운전면허증 발급을 위해서 DMV가 아닌 AAA 보험 회사를 통해서 발급 받습니다. 지참하실 준비물은 미국 면허증이며 여권사이즈 사진 2장입니다. 사진이 없을 경우 이곳에서도 사진촬영이 가능하나 수수료가 붙습니다. 별로 비싸지 않아요.

Fantastic experience: I haven't been a member long but one of the smartest things I have ever done. Helped plan my family's vacation, saved a lot of money on a rental car and when I had a blowout on my truck the tow was free to the tire shop. You cant beat their service and I highly recommend anyone driving becoming a member.

Negative experience: I have been a AAA Member since 2004 and have, thankfully, used their services very few times. On February 25 I called at approximately 3 p.m. to request towing service on my vehicle. I was told that they would only tow my vehicle a total of 10 miles, regardless of my AAA Plus package. I reminded them that with the Plus package I should be able to get the car towed the 18 miles I was requesting. I said "so are you going to tow my vehicle 10 miles and then just leave it at the side of the road?" They replied that due to inclement weather 10 miles was the max. I politely informed them that all roads except the most rural roads in Knox county were dry and clear of any snow and ice. That didn't matter to AAA. I thought AAA was supposed to respond in time of need. Apparently not in Knox County. Needless to say, it will be a cold day in someplace other than Knoxville when I call on them again. They don't do refunds on memberships so I have to ride out my term but I have called them for the last time. I would strongly recommend that you carefully research their reliability before joining AAA. I'm through with them.
