Lakeside Gondola Residence Lodge

Fantastic experience: I almost don't want to write this review (to keep this place a secret)! It was very QUIET & CONVENIENT! Had everything we needed to eat and prepare our meals in the room. The rooms had very nice, possibly granite counters and the bathroom was very clean, up to date, and tile throughout. The customer service was top notch considering no office on site. The "yard" area came equip with Adirondack chairs, propane fire pits and BBQ grills. The walk to the Gondola was literally 0.16 mile and took 3minutes. We had the hot tub to ourselves on a Saturday afternoon. The complimentary shot glasses were a great touch. We can't wait to stay again.

Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful suite in South Lake Tahoe over the weekend with my son, and it was a fantastic experience. The suite was incredibly comfortable, spacious, and well-equipped, making it a perfect home base for our trip. It was also ideally located—just a short walk to everything, including shopping, the ski lift, and several great restaurants. Whether you’re there for outdoor activities or just to explore the area, this place is so convenient. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting South Lake Tahoe!

Negative experience: We rented a 4-bedroom plus living room for $950 a night. They told us it had a kitchen, but there was only a small, tiny refrigerator, no stove, and only a hot burner. The mattress was terrible and seemed 30 years old. The beds are on stilts. The washer and dryer are outside the units, with only one for all the rooms, and it’s coin-operated. There’s no reception and no one on site to help. No dining table. No place to keep skis. It’s a cheap lodge with expensive prices. It’s at least a 12-minute walk to the gondola, which feels like 30 minutes when carrying boots and all the equipment. Check-in is very late at 4 PM, and checkout is at 11 AM. Very uncomfortable in general. Not well-maintained. No service. If I had paid a quarter of the price, I still wouldn’t be happy or stay here again. The person responsible is nice and kind and responds quickly and tries to solve the problems. To summarize and give a quick idea of the lodge: when I was going to check out, I called and asked what I should do. They told me, "Please take out the garbage and close the door." I paid $950/night and was told to take out the garbage. If you plan on staying there, bring toilet paper (they give you half a roll), towels (they give you ones almost hand-sized), soap (they give you the cheapest tiny bar), HANGERS (not one in 4 rooms, try storing your cloths without hangers), shampoo, etc. But definitely bring your mattress unless you like to sleep directly on springs. If you plan on using a kitchen, definitely find another place. Otherwise, have fun in the overpriced lodge.

Fantastic experience: Easy to gain entry. Easy to park. Easy to stay here. Easy to walk to restaurants and activities. Easy to leave! Perfect place for a quick trip to S. Lake Tahoe.

We stayed in a queen studio with larger kitchenette which was nicely equipped with cookware, mini fridge, convention microwave, induction cooktop, and a dishwasher! Location is fantastic! Just a 5 minute walk to the gondola. Also, the entire property is gated, which made us feel safe and secure. Aria was very responsive with any questions we had. Definitely would stay again.

Fantastic experience: Our family stay at the Gondola Lodge was great! Kid friendly and everyone had their own bed and lots of bathrooms to support our group of 7. Was a gem to find and we look forward to staying again soon!

Fantastic experience: Very pleased with our stay , our studio and 1 bedroom suite were both cleaned and nicely decorated. Love that they have a chimneys so we stayed cozy. Aria was beyond helpful and accommodating with our request, she was able to get me a connecting units to accommodate for a large family. The 1 bedroom unit (pictures 2&3) accommodates 6 people has 2 queen beds, & restroom in 1 room then a separate living room area with a sofa that converts into a queen bed and another small sofa that also turns into a small bed another restroom and fully stocked kitchen. The studio is listed for 2 people (1st picture) has 1 queen bed and a sofa that turns into a small bed, has small kitchenette with mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker, 1 restroom. The sofas on both rooms turn into beds and are very comfortable. Feels like an airbnb without the hefty cleaning fees. Communication via text was easy and I got quick responses. Free parking gated and outside parking, about a 5 min walk from heavenly shops, bars, restaurant’s and the gondola will definitely book again in the future.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely beautiful place to stay that is in the middle of it all. The Gandola was just across the street a few minutes away, we were able to walk. The home fit all 8 of us comfortably. Also Chuck, the property manager (he seemed new), but he was awesome and very helpful. When we come back to Lake Tahoe, I wouldn’t definitely stay here again!

Fantastic experience: I was a little concerned with there being no one on site. What stood out. FANTASTIC service. When I called for help or clarification things were done immediately. So friendly and nice as well. Also, the place was great. Immaculate. Nice facilities. The one chair was a little 'tired' as they say. But this was a very minor issue. And the location was perfect! Walking distance to everything.

Fantastic experience: My son and I visited Lake Tahoe for the first time and were happy to find the Gondola Lounge in our search for a lodge that provided everything we were looking for. Upon our arrival we were so happy to see how beautiful the rooms were and very clean. Our bed was so comfortable and the fireplace and jetted tub were some of the awesome features the room had. We enjoyed how close it was to the village so that we could walk to many places and avoided the xtra parking fees. There was also on site washer and dryers and I was able to wash all of our clothes from the trip before leaving so that I could avoid the xtra chores when we arrived home. We loved the lodge so much that we will stay here again.

Fantastic experience: Very nice, quiet, clean property across the street from Heavenly Resort gondola, shops and restaurants, and 10 minute walk to beach. They give you $5 coupons to use at the beach which is very useful since I believe the price is $35 each without them. The owners are very easy to contact by phone and quick to provide anything you might need. I did a lot of research before selecting this property, and I'm glad I did. It was perfect and I would definitely stay there again!

Negative experience: This place is really pretty and very walkable, but feels like it hasn’t seen genuine effort for a bit. There’s lovely patio seating areas but a lot of them are coated in pollen, the swimming pool health certificate expired in 2017, and one of our comforters had mystery stains. Some of our decor still had the TJ Max receipt on it. It just feels like it could be really nice but no one is going the extra mile. The service here is not always present we were lucky enough to run into a person to ask for a towel and they were very quick, but people are not always on site.

Fantastic experience: Directions were clear and made for an easy check in process with access codes to enter gated parking lot and room (esp since we arrived late in the evening). Room was clean and well equipped with essentials. Location is great within walking distance to many restaurants, shops, and casinos. The manager John checked on us during our stay to make sure everything was good and that we had everything we needed. :-)

Negative experience: It was ok. One of our towels had a stain (luckily there were extras) on it and then bedding had some light stains. The location is amazing but everything else was meh. Pretty sure the only reason the reviews are so good if because they offer you a discount for leaving a review. I won't be returning.

Room was clean, efficient kitchenette with all the necessities, large bathroom, easy parking and fantastic location, walking distance from city center. Cute and thoughtful additions such as vouchers to a nearby private beach, and 2 souvenir shot glasses. Smooth self check in and out process. We will be sure to come back, price was great too!

Fantastic experience: My buddy and I wanted to enjoy a long weekend skiing, and Gondola Lodge was just the place! Everything was so clean, comfortable, and cozy when we arrived after a long, snowy, late night drive up from the Bay. The location is ideal for walking to the gondola or into town for food, but we especially loved having our own kitchenette. It was just enough room for two friends traveling together (plus all our ski gear!) Communicating with Jennifer was clear and easy beforehand, and she was very helpful with my questions/requests. I can't say enough how much we enjoyed our stay, but the best part was chatting with Jeff and John who work there. They were so helpful as we tried to navigate the crazy snow storm that came through that weekend (especially as we learned how to put on snow chains!) They were so kind and helpful. I would come here again in a heartbeat!

Fantastic experience: Jennifer helped me with a last minute Christmas reservation. We enjoy staying at the Gondola in South Lake Tahoe. It has all of the amenities we need and easy access and gated, so we feel safe! We prefer this location as it's close walking distance from Heavenly Village and the Gondola. We'll be booking our next ski trip there!

Fantastic experience: The location of your Gondola Hotel is excellent. We could quickly walk to the Gondola to ski all day. My husband wanted to put clothing in the dresser in our room 203 but could not open the closet door enough to be able to open the dresser drawers. The flooring was too high to open the door. I used the room jacuzzi and black mildew came out the jets. Jacuzzi apparently need to be cleaned regularly. I found this hotel very anti social. The outdoor pool & jacuzzi were closed and there is no gathering place for the hotel guests. Previously, we stayed in the hotel across the street and got free breakfast there and were able to meet other hotel guests. There is also no front desk to ask questions. This makes the whole experience very impersonal too. I also thought it was interesting how I need to sign a document that we would be quiet to stay at your facility. I enjoy meeting the other hotel guests when we go on vacation. The room was nice and we enjoyed our stay. I liked the shot glasses we were given as a gift. I liked the secure gated parking lot. Thanks so much.

Fantastic experience: We stayed at their Lake Tahoe hotel. Very nice and cozy 2 bedroom. Decor is updated and very homey. Complete kitchen with instructions everywhere. Beds could use replacement as they were a little springy. But overall, a great stay!

Fantastic experience: The Lakeside Gondola Lodge was exactly what you would expect. It's absolutely the perfect place for peace and quiet. It's so quiet, you'll be afraid to make any noise yourself. It's ridiculous, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Parking tip: park in the middle of the lot, unless you want tree sap falling on your vehicle. Another great thing about the location is that it's walking distance to pretty much everything. I highly recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I were looking to get away from life for a little bit and the heat of Sacramento. The spot is quiet, cozy, serene, and just what the doctor ordered. The kitchen area accommodated us cooking breakfast in the mornings. The bed was so incredibly comfortable we almost didn’t wanna get up and continue our day. I was able to spend two hours at the pool by myself while the hubby napped in peace, and it was magical. There are tons of small areas with chairs, tables and optional barbecues that are super cute; and would definitely be used in the future. It was refreshing to be in a place where we had privacy and quiet without worrying about people running up and down the hallway or in and out of slamming doors. Thank you for accommodating us last minute when the original room we booked wasn’t quite what we were expecting! We absolutely love this place and look forward to coming back.

Fantastic experience: The Gondola Lodge in South Lake Tahoe is a great place to stay for families! We (4 adults and 3 teenage boys) stayed there for 5 nights recently and were in one of their 4 room units. The units were comfortable and had pretty much everything we needed during our stay. An added bonus is that the parking is inside a gated area on the property. John the onsite manager is great and offered excellent, fast service. Whenever we needed something he would bring it right up to us within minutes! I would definitely recommend this place for families that are looking to stay in South Lake Tahoe. It's walking distance to Heavenly Village which has great shops and dining choices. If you're a gambler, it's about a half mile from the state line where you'll find Harrah's, Harvey's and the Hard Rock Hotel casinos.

Negative experience: Avoid this hotel at all costs. The room code was simply the room number twice and there is no deadbolt; very unsafe! Our TV was not working the entire first day and when we called the "front desk" the first night the gentleman was obviously sleeping and essentially told us to figure it out ourselves - he wanted to get back to sleep. The room was also very disappointing… leftover soap in the bathtub, general filth in the shower, a cheap bed pushed in the corner, and furnished with TJ Maxx furniture. To top it all off, we were awakened the day we left to an actual fight outside of our door (it was extremely loud because the windows do not close all the way because the rooms only have a portable AC unit with an exhaust in the window - this also prevents the room from getting dark at night). I strongly recommend you avoid this hotel. My girlfriend felt extremely unsafe here and it was extremely cheap and had zero service. Do not fall for the misleading advertising like I did.

Fantastic experience: Such a nice little gem of a place. I have stayed in most of the lower cost hotels on the west side of the highway, and the Gondola lodge is by far the nicest. Very clean, easy booking and access, very responsive managers. Each room had a tiny mini-kitchen which worked out well so we didn’t have to eat three meals a day at restaurants. A very short walk to the village, shops, gondola and restaurants. Great place!

Positive experience: Rooms are small, kitchens a joke. Cleaner than 2* hotels around for sure, but not by much. You have to get your trash out by yourself, bc no cleaning crew during your stay. I rate it 3* only because of the location, and the gate all around the property which makes it feel safer.

Fantastic experience: So this lodge has resort ($15) and cleaning fees ($60) that are not outlined on some 3rd party vendor websites. We were not aware of them at checkout time, and decided to cancel our reservation shortly after booking. The lodge manager was very understanding and processed our reservation cancellation without any fuss, which is rare these days. Rating 5-stars because I would return to this property in the future based on this service alone.

Fantastic experience: My family and I stayed at the lodge November 8-10 in the queen studio room. The room was nice and the space was utilized efficiently. The property is gated which is always good. Location is about a 5 min walk from everything and that includes walking with a toddler. Jennifer the owner was amazing and accommodated my every need and also, I'd like to give a shout out to John and Tony for helping me remove my snow chains!! These guys were great. :) I'd definitely stay again!

Negative experience: Definitely not worth the price. Gary the grounds keeper was the best part about this place, he's a gem! No view, run down, spa tub in room broken, kinda gross (someone else's flip flops under the bed upon arrival), I thought we had the wrong place at first, no way was this the place I booked, unfortunately it was, my bad. You live and learn. Avoid.

Fantastic experience: We began our trip at one of the major casinos then moved here for the holiday . We enjoyed our stay at this cozy little spot way better the the casino. Great location and the fireplace was a Loved the little kitchenette , but bummed the only place to eat our food bed. This is only an issue in the Winter as there are several places to eat and Bbq around the property , including a mini patio if your on the first floor. Definitely bring the whole fam here in the summer! And the convenience and communication experience with the staff was even better . Great place to spend our New Year celebration

Fantastic experience: Nice experience, booked through expedia. We stayed in the 2br condo it was nice, the downside is that there is no onsite staff if you need anything. The kitchen is well equipped and parking was easy.

Fantastic experience: Let me just start by saying I've stayed just about every where in Tahoe over the years. Casino's, Hotels, vacation rental homes and condos, you name it ! I've never ever felt compelled to leave a review but I must !! The Lakeside Gondola is now my all time new favorite. The owners are attentive and detail oriented. Great communicating reservation confirmation and double confirmed our room preference. Clearly they take pride caring for the property. It's beautiful. The two bedroom Villa was outstanding in every way. Charm, cozy and clean and beyond ! Updated everything ! Not to mention secure gated parking. AND, we we're greeted by the property managers ( the sweetest most adorable couple ever) upon arrival. Seriously two of the nicest people I've ever met. So helpful and friendly. Always checking to make sure we had everything we needed and invited us to knock on thier door if we had questions. OH !! And the pool area was as exceptional as the rest of this darling place. Fantastic experience: A cozy suite with everything you need for a relaxing weekend. Excellent customer service! This lodge is privately run by a family and they take very good care of the facility. Everything was clean and in working condition, including the Jacuzzi tub. Within walking distance of the Tahoe lake shore (with free beach access code) and the main boulevard. We loved it so much, we extended our trip. Texted the owners and they took care of it within less than an hour. No muss, no fuss, no having to go through travel websites! A wonderful experience that we hope to repeat soon. Thank you for making our stay effortless.

Fantastic experience: This place was absolutely amazing and better that I expected. First, we were able to check in early which makes things so much easier when travelling, plus there was no check in, saving us time there as well. When we arrived, there were staff on site that were so friendly. The place was beautifully renovated, clean and had more than enough amenities available. I will absolutely book at this place again.
