Our comment from TraTraTravel about Passport America:
Passport America is a membership program designed for RV enthusiasts, offering significant discounts on campground fees across the United States. The program has received mixed reviews from users, with many highlighting both its advantages and limitations.
- Positive aspects: Many members praise the substantial savings they experience, often stating that the membership pays for itself after just a couple of nights of camping. Users appreciate the potential for discounts at a wide variety of campgrounds and the helpfulness of customer service representatives.
- Highlighted experiences: Members have enjoyed friendly customer service interactions, with several specific mentions of representatives providing assistance with reservations and inquiries. Many enjoy attending the organized rallies, which foster community among RV enthusiasts.
However, there are notable criticisms:
- Many campers report frustrations with blackout dates and restrictions on when they can use their discounts, particularly during peak travel seasons. Some feel misled by the advertising, claiming many campgrounds do not honor discounts during the summer months or on weekends.
- Users also mention inconsistencies in the availability of campgrounds accepting the membership, citing examples of parks that used to accept Passport America but no longer do.
Overall, Passport America can be a valuable tool for RV travelers, especially for those who plan ahead and research available campgrounds. It’s advisable for potential members to assess the specific terms and availability associated with individual parks before committing to a membership.
Passport America: Reviews
Negative experience: Bought this on a promotion extending the standard 12 month membership. Just spent the last week trying to use the discount for spring, summer and fall travel in 5 different states and the vast majority of listed parks don't allow the discount during this time frame. Today I discovered many other reviews documenting the same and regret not doing more homework before wasting my money on this. Hopefully you are reading this and other reviews before spending your hard earned money. Don't do it!
Negative experience: These are the worst people in the world. The owner hired me and after I put in my notice at my current job, he called me back and told me he had changed his mind, causing me to lose my job and consequently my house. I would not trust these people for anything, ever.
Negative experience: Absolutely a waste of my time and money, after receiving my membership card I tried to make reservations only to be told that is not offered during spring, summer and fall dates...... This is a scam and I would stay away. No where on there website does it state blackout dates. A representative of Passport america told me that I had to check with each campground, really I hope no one else falls for the scam......
Negative experience: They auto renewed my husband’s account when the account was not set on auto renew and then wanted to take forever with issuing the refund. Called since 31 December 2024 originally and they said they would issue the refund on the 2nd of January and nothing. Called again on the 27th January 2025 and was told that only one person know how to look in dept into the billing stuff and they would give a call us a call today about it. And if they have been open since 8am CST I don’t see why they waited til 530pm EST to call and saying it would take 72hrs for us to get the refund. And that’s if we even get the refund without having to call again about it. This is a big time scam program. Don’t take money out of people account wrongfully and immediately and then tell them they have to wait days to get it refunded.
Negative experience: Way to many restrictions on very few campgrounds and most are for our of season and only one day. Add the fact that every time I go to log on it says my email isn't recognized and tries to sell me another subscription. Avoid this one not worth it . The Dyrt is a much better app with many free or inexpensive spots
Positive experience: Finding a lot of campgrounds that are partnered with Passport America that black out a lot of dates, and limit stays. Still trying, but so far, this has been a waste of money for me.
Negative experience: Too many restrictions. People often need to stay at RV parks on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Not worth the stress.
Fantastic experience: Just spoke to Tonya via phone. Incredible customer service. Answered all questions and concerns and made it easy and simple. I greatly appreciate the help Tonya. They also have a lifetime membership for under $300 that y’all should look into. But their annual memberships are amazing as well
Negative experience: As a “Forever Member” I think this service is going under. The number of parks is dwindling drastically and you can’t use during the summer or weekends. Do Not Suggest!!! Make your investment elsewhere. Sad because I paid for my “Forever” just a couple of years ago. It also looks like they are weeding out comments on their FB page. I looked up a few of their NEW campgrounds and most are not weekend friendly. I’m not a full time RVr so I need those weekend days.
Negative experience: If you plan your vacation over the summer months - as most families are forced to do - this membership is useless. None of the campsites we looked at honored the PA membership during the summer months. On top, there are very few campsites in the northern part of the USA (8 in all of Montana!), and in general they are not the nicer ones. Furthermore, there is no possibility to book online and the search engine of both the website and the app are bad. You would have to call, and just for two campsites it took us hours to actually get a call back ... and then to figure out that the PA membership is not worth anything during summer. Unfortunately, I directly paid for 4 years - money down the drain.
Positive experience: Very nice campground. The space we had was very large and the staff extremely accommodating. The only downside was the site was sandy so we were tracking that in the RV and there was no picnic table, so that's why only 4 stars. If Im in the area again it return is certain.
Fantastic experience: Although I am disappointed in roadblocks to using my passport at certain campgrounds, I have to be happy in the fact that when I can use it by doing a little more homework, I come out way ahead. I also do Google reviews on the campgrounds I visit staying their policy regarding PA. Let their review reflects on their attitude toward us as the patrons. They lose by people passing on them to the campgrounds who love to be a part of this great discount. It's still a win-win for all who partake!
Negative experience: Just signed up and not happy. Every place I tried in Florida was not available Nov-Apr. Then I tried the Smoky Mountains only to find it can’t be used in October. False advertising.
Fantastic experience: very nice park can't wait to visit again.
Negative experience: So restrictive that it is unusable! Making plans from South Dakota to Seattle through Oregon and then northern California. Could NOT use anywhere. We have requested our money be returned.
Positive experience: Seems worth it
Fantastic experience: Absolutely one of the best things we ever did. Just use your membership once and it has already Paid for itself. We recommend passport America to everyone we meet. Definitely a great value.
Hi Kathy! Thank you for taking the time to give us a review. I would be happy to personally discuss any concerns you may have with the membership or the program. Please feel free to contact me toll free at 1-800-681-6810. I will be happy to address any of your questions or conerns.
Negative experience: Waste of money. Have stayed at 3 campgrounds and all say they don't do Passport America when we go. Hills Campground in SD. Not offered in October. Seriously?? Save your money
Fantastic experience: Passport America is the absolute best if you own an RV. You will definitely save money every time you camp. Every campground we've stayed in is clean and well maintained. It's been a win-win situation for us!
Negative experience: Useless waste of $50. So called participating campgrounds either don’t honor or have so many restrictions I have never been able to use it. Avoid
Negative experience: Although I have only tried two of the campgrounds listed both have been unsatisfactory. They do not honor the passport America price. The campgrounds do not disclose all the information such as road conditions, proximity to railroad tracks, conditions of bathrooms/showers, smoking policies or whether the bathroom and showers have air conditioning. Very disappointing, definitely a waste of money
Fantastic experience: Pays for itself in one night
Thank you Todd for your review! Happy and Safe Travels!
Negative experience: We're fulltime rv'rs so we bought a 1 yr membership and all the parks we were in never accepted passport America....a waste of money.
Hi JA C! Thank you for taking the time to review Passport America. We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences you may have experienced with our program. We want to help you make your camping experiences using our program better.
Regarding our affiliate campgrounds, you may view all campgrounds that honor the discounts online through our app or in our printed directory.
You will notice some campgrounds have no limits on the length of time you can stay at the 50% discount while others allow you to stay for only a week, a few nights, overnight, or others may have certain blocks of time that they allow the discount. This information is printed in the directory, online and in our app so there are no surprises.
These parks that allow only a few nights, overnight or with blocks of time allowed, are usually parks that stay full. Although the 50% OFF discount is limited at some of these parks, we felt it would be beneficial to still have them as part of our program with just a few nights at 50% OFF rather than not list them at all. That way a savings can still be passed to you, our member, if you choose to stay during the offered discounted time. Each one of these types of parks will also allow you to extend/book your stay longer at the regular campground rate.
If we can help in any way to make your experience better, please feel free to call our office at 800-681-6810. We will happily help you with finding a campground as well as using our program.
Happy Travels!
Negative experience: Don't waste your money unless you plan on camping in Florida in the middle of summer or North Dakota in the dead of winter. TO MANY BLACK OUT DATES
Hi John! I am sorry for any inconveniences you may have experienced while using the membership. While our campgrounds do determine the length of stay, we have many that will accommodate longer stays with no limits. Please contact us toll free at 1-800-681-6810 and ask to speak with Tonya or Cara. They will be happy to discuss your concerns and further assist you.
Positive experience: Have friends that talked us into joining. They say it's a great way to save on campground cost. I looked it over and planned a trip with PA parks along the way. Then I found out that their mapping software is just google maps and it doesn't account for RV size and weight. This could be a real problem on some roads. Now I have to review the route with another RV routing app to be sure I not sent down a bad road for my sized RV. I'll see how good the PA works in a couple of weeks when I take this trip.
Hi Howard! At this time, our trip routing feature is designed for general routing purposes to allow our users to easily find Passport America campgrounds and maximize their savings. However, we are always looking to improve our services and value your feedback. I will happily provide this suggestion to our IT Department. Also, please feel free to contact us toll free at 1-800-681-6810. Our friendly customer service representatives are more than happy to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have. Happy and Safe Travels!
Positive experience: Just joined this RV club, will review later when I use their card at campgrounds. Just bought my first Diesel pusher and I am getting excited about my retirement travels to come. Passport America looks like a great opportunity to save money on campsites and see the sites in Canada.
Hi Alexis! Welcome to the Passport America family. We are happy to have you and excited for you to start saving! Please let us know if we can assist you. Happy and Safe Travels!
Positive experience: Anvil Campground, Va. made reservations Dec 29, 2021 for Feb 15-17th, 2022. Where told price was $54.99 but with passport America it was half price which would be $27.50. We received our statement saying $39.99 ( passport America in book and also on line top price is $35.00. When we arrived we also where told it was half price of peak season price whatever that is. Maybe they should review all there advertising and have all staff on the same page. As far as the campground, it is clean and staff is friendly. Unfortunately it is right next to train tracks that are used every couple of hours day and night and major highway is on the other side. Plus sites are rackum and stackum, if you don’t mind being that close to your neighbor. This experience with the changing price has sour my opinion on this campground so I would not recommend it.
Hi Debbi!
Thank you for taking the time to let us know about the campground situation that you encountered at Anvil Campground. Our most sincere apologies! We understand how frustrating it can be to expect one thing and get another. This information has been passed on to our campground department for further investigation. In the meantime, If you will give our office a call and ask for Tonya, she will be happy to discuss the occurrence with you in more detail. 800.681.6810
Again, we regret that you encountered this situation. Thank you for taking the time to make us aware of the situation. Should you have any further problems that arise or if you need anything at all, please feel free to contact us directly. Wishing you Future Happy Travels!
Fantastic experience: We’ll first I have to say that passport america is definitely worth it. That’s why the 5 star rating. With that being said I just called Dan’s river view RV Park in ozark Arkansas. Here’s how the conversation went. I was wondering if you have availability for tonight. All questions answered as to the length of rig etc. The next part of the conversation are you a member. My reply was yes passport america. His reply “well you’re going to have to text me the information and I’ll check availability”. As soon as I got off the phone I said to my husband he won’t have anything because his attitude changed as soon as i said that I had passport america. So I texted the info and low and behold this was his response “ Not tonight Thanks for calling Dan “ my husband called back 20 minutes later and said nothing about passport america and guess what, He had availability. I give this park a big negative 5star rating. I wouldn’t ever stay there now if he said it was free
Good Morning! Thank you for the 5 Star Rating. We greatly appreciate your feedback and have forwarded this information over to our Campground Department for further investigation. Please be assured that this matter will be looked into. Happy and Safe Travels!
Negative experience: I had joined membership three weeks ago and last two weeks traveling California cost to Oregon and Washington state and back to California. I never beagle to use because park was full every night everywhere and it most of the parks looks like rundown conditions or used rv dealers. I would like to have canceled membership refund if possible.
Good Afternoon Mr. Chang! I am sorry to hear that you were not able to use the discount on your recent trip. Right now, at lot of campgrounds are full as COVID has created a surge of growth in the RV Industry. We would be happy to address your concerns, however, need a little more information to further assist you. Please contact us toll free 1-800-681-6810 M-F 7:00-5:00 CST for further assistance.
Positive experience: It is a camping club that gives discounts to people who go camping.
Fantastic experience:
Fantastic experience: Great customer service, they appreciate their members, and plenty of campgrounds to choose from!!!
Negative experience: They need to remove campgrounds with ridiculous restrictions! Last winter we headed to Texas and planned on a stop in Kansas. Called ahead, said we were Passport America members and verified they discounted. Got there the evening of our trip only to be told they no longer accept PA, but since we called ahead they would knock off $5. Then this summer heading up thru South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, back thru Nebraska. We found one, yes ONE! campground that honored the PA discount in all the campgrounds listed in our book. They all had restrictions of either not taking PA in the summer months (which honestly, how many people head to the northern states in... the.... winter), or one listed in the book they don't take in June and July due to wheat harvest. BUT this year wheat harvest started late and didn't know when it would be done, then when we mentioned August 9-10 said oh no, couldn't take it then due to fair time, which was not mentioned in the book. We paid for three years of Passport America membership and feel like we will not even get our membership fees back on savings. I would NOT recommend purchasing a membership unless you know exactly where you're going and when, then only if you check to see if it's accepted during that time. I feel a restriction of accepting it for only 1 to 2 nights is reasonable, but restricting for the entire season is ridiculous and shouldn't be allowed. We will not be renewing our membership when it comes due, because we are extremely disappointed in this membership.
Good Morning Gloria! Thank you for taking the time to let us know of your recent experiences. We greatly apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced so far. If you could, please contact us toll free at 1-800-681-6810. Our team would like to further investigate your concerns regarding the parks not accepting this discount per the listing in the book. Since each park is individually owned and operated, they can set certain guidelines to using the discount; however, we continue to work with parks to ensure our members can benefit from the discount within the guidelines being set. If a park was not honoring their listing, we would need to know to further investigate and resolve this issue for you immediately. We would happily like to look in to this matter for you as quickly as possible.
Positive experience: We have used Passport America for a couple years now and bottom line is it can be worth it or it could be a total waste of money. If you have a park that you want to go with that will take passport then it could pay for itself in one trip. That being said the key is IF you can find a park. Yes they have a ton of parks in their network and they advertise that. What they don’t advertise is that they pretty much let the parks put whatever restrictions they want to increase the number of parks they can claim they have. For example do you go to FL for the winter? Good luck find any park that will honor passport in the winter. Want to go to CO in the summer? Yeah not gonna happen. Now if you want to go to CO in the winter you will definitely find parks that will honor Passport. The restrictions are so ridiculous I’ve seen parks where Passport is valid for like a month or two out of the whole year. I think if you got rid of parks who restrict passport to only certain months you would be left with only a handful of parks. So bottom line if you are thinking of buying look up the parks you want to go to, but more importantly look at the important notes tab in the Passport app to see what kind of restrictions they have.
Positive experience: Great park. Friendly management, close to Bisbee and Tombstone, many sites to see. Several pull throughs, accommodates every thing up to 45 ft, wide site spaces, one of the best internet services we have encountered, great Verizon 4G service, Golf course across the street. Enjoyed our stay.
Fantastic experience: Highly recommend
Fantastic experience: Passport America has been one of the best decisions we’ve ever made!
Fantastic experience: What a deal!!!!! We save hundreds and hundreds every year. If you own an RV and camp at campgrounds, how can you NOT do this?
Fantastic experience: Omg where do I start this is a amazing business, they treat you like family and they make sure you r taking care of your whole vacation ! Fantastic experience: We have had Passport America for 2 years now and have had great experience in Austin Texas and Geneva-on -Lake in Ohio. Right now we are enjoying "Rally in Tally".
Fantastic experience: It was a fun and friendly trip.
Fantastic experience: Attended the rally in tally in 2019. Low attendance but well organized.
Fantastic experience: Great Service! Great Deals! Great Customer Service! I love Passport America!
Fantastic experience: After joining PA I soon became a life member and it's paid for itself many times over!
Fantastic experience: This is our first rally in 6 years of traveling in our motorhome. We have found the Rally in Tally to be both fun and informative. The vendors here have been a plus. We have been planning to buy new shocks when we get back home but found them available at the rally and they even install them. I recommend experiencing a rally if you never have. Vera is a fun person and very knowledgeable.
Fantastic experience: At the “Rally in Tally”. This is our first rally and it is great. Although the weather is iffy, the rally has been a lot of fun with vendors, games, information, and great food. Of course we really liked meeting new friends that shared their adventures with us. Suggestions: have sessions of members sharing with maybe favorite recipes or tips for organization for your traveling. I love learning from others.
Fantastic experience: Was our first rally that we have attended. Great time. The seminars and instructor were very informative. Great information for the experienced RVer thru to the newest RVer.
Fantastic experience: I have been a Passport member for several years, and I wouldn't be without it. I have met MANY wonderful people and my wife and I still keep in contact with many of them. The rally's and the caravans are ALWAYS so much fun. Ryan, the rally, and caravan master and I have become great friends. I didn't know him from boo before I joined Passport but I'm so grateful I do now.
Fantastic experience: One of the very best RV camping clubs. We’ve had many positive experiences using Passport America and recommend it highly.
Fantastic experience: Greatest staff and campgrounds.
Fantastic experience: A great group, you should joint it.
Fantastic experience: Always had good luck with staying at camp site using Passport America. You do have to check out parks website because pricing can change through out the year. Some may be a little rougher then others but all have been safe and friendly. Remember for half price most of the time you will not be getting a 10 star hotel spot. We highly recommend PPA to all we meet on and off the road.
Fantastic experience: Great club use it a lot. Saves a lot of money. Easy to use.
Fantastic experience: Great RV club with great discounts. Very friendly and fun rallies.
Fantastic experience: Greatest camping club of them all. Love to attempt rally's. Use it often.
Fantastic experience: I just can't say enough about Passport America. They have saved us so much money on a $44.00 a year membership . No contacts no buy in. My husband are proud to say we have become life time members. The discounts on our caravans and rallies for being life time members will pay for the membership. Then when we are done with our worldly travels you can transfer to anyone of our choice. If you are a member with Passport America you get a discount on RV mail with Kirk Simmons. What a great company to handle your mail and send it to you wherever you are. Thanks again Passport America .your the best.
Fantastic experience: My wife and I went to the rally in tally we had a blast we went to the Capitol building and and the gardens and the governors mansion also the car museum which I enjoyed the most had lunch at golden coral all from the provided tour bus the meals at the club house was great too if you have never been to one of these rallies you need to try one and see for yourself thank you Joseph Abramo

Fantastic experience: We love Passport America! You can't beat the price for a member ship. We have stayed at some amazing campgrounds for half the price.
Fantastic experience: I cannot rave enough about this location! I recently traveled and had questions about campsites and my membership. The customer service was excellent. They looked up my account quickly and gave me the information I needed. Once I am in the area I would love to stop by and chat with the owner of this location because their staff is absolutely superb!
Fantastic experience: Passport America has been one of the best decisions we’ve ever made!! It’s worth it!! Their app is so user friendly and informative! I would choose Passport America over Good Sam over and over again!!
Fantastic experience: Best help and staff that I have had the pleasure of dealing with!
Fantastic experience: Great discounts and wonderful customer service!
Fantastic experience: Great camping discount card. When taking long trips across the country I can use the Passport America Campground trip routing option to ensure I stay each night for 50% for my entire trip. Great product. Thanks.
Fantastic experience: Another satisfied Passport America customer.
Fantastic experience: Our membership has paid for itself within the first trip we took. The parks have been delightful! I have been pleasantly surprised by all the perks of this membership. We will be renewing for sure. No regrets!
Fantastic experience: Great discounts, membership pays for itself after only a couple of nights! They also have the best customer service and virtually no hold time!
Fantastic experience: Great customer service
Fantastic experience: Great discounts and amazing customer service :-)
Fantastic experience: Great discounts
Fantastic experience: Just left the Tampa RV Super show & several Passport America RV parks were there as well! Ja-Mar Travel Park you can go stay there in Fl during the winter at 50% off, cool RV park on the river Suwanee River Rendezvous in Mayo Fl , awesome park too & a brand new RV park in Savannah Ga as well , & even the park on the cover of the directory is a 10/10/10 rated park. Campers save a fortune! For only $44 a year - yep some parks have black out dates but its because they are usually full at that time & yet they do honor it on their less busy times - each park is different & the notes are there to serve the park owners & campers alike. Its a win win for both! Amazing how some folks expect a park that fills up with full paying customers during a particular time to not black out that time & honor them at 50% off when if you were paying full rate you’d have a tough time getting in! It saves campers a ton of money throughout the year if they camp often & usually in 2 nights camping pays for itself & it fills up RV parks sites that would be sitting empty plus brings in business for other things as well that parks have to offer. Its not for everyone but its still today saving RVers hundreds & some thousands all across America. While saving RV parks on national advertising for their park -
Positive experience: So far every attempt we've made to use our Passport America membership has resulted in failure. Even when as per the fine print we are within the requirements, the park will tell us something different, and to argue feels like you are begging for charity. Once you tell them you are with PA, customer service goes out the window. If you want to use it, be prepared to have all weekends, holidays, seasonal days, and premium/larger sites excluded, as well as unhelpful and sometimes rude hosts. If you are a full-time RVer and don't care about where you stay (there's a difference between full-time travel and a mobile home replacement), this might be of use. We will likely not renew our membership unless we find some way to finally use it. Edit: Okay, we DID finally find a use for it. The stars aligned and we happened to be looking around for something to do at the end of the Christmas break, and we started looking at Angel Fire as a possible destination. We've never been able to find a way to ski and use the travel trailer, and Angel Fire Resort has their own RV resort, built in 2015. It just so happens that they DO accept Passport America in the off-season beginning January 1st. We were able to arrive on the 31st, use Good Sam, then use Passport America for an additional 4 days for 50% off. The membership paid for itself in 2 nights. I will say that information was conflicting online about whether it was supported, and the person I reserved with had no idea who Passport America was and had to confirm that they had an agreement. He was surprised when he found that they did and floored when it was a 50% discount. It almost seemed like an oversight that they might correct after the fact. They did reserve one of the less desirable spots for us, with the mountain view blocked by the clubhouse and views the other direction of the mobile home park next door, but everything was covered in snow and it was all beautiful regardless. So kudos to Passport America for getting us a discount, and hopefully Angel Fire RV Resort will still accept it again next year (I'm guessing they might, because now they offer the same discount through Family Motor Coach Association). I'm raising my review from 2 to 4 stars, because if you can find someone who will accept the membership, it will pay for itself in a very short time.
Good Afternoon Chad! I am sorry to hear about your recent attempts to use the membership. We would love to discuss this matter further with you. We work directly with our parks in making sure their listing is the most current and up to date. Therefore, if you were told something different, we most certainly want to research the matter. We value our members feedback in regards to their experiences. Please contact us toll free 1-800-681-6810.
Fantastic experience: I have been a PA member for about 5 years and have always found it to be an outstanding value. The membership pays for itself almost immediately, and have never had any trouble with RV parks honoring the discount. I road trip for a month every year and have been able to use the membership all over the country. That said, if you are looking for a half price RV spot next to the pool in a 5 star resort on the weekend, you will be disappointed. I have also found that some areas of the country (usually the more popular destinations) have more restrictions than others, but that is expected... there is no incentive for the park to offer a discount when they can sell the space for full price. Many of the participating RV parks are small and not what I would call a resort, but if you read the reviews and the park descriptions you shouldn't be surprised. I also always call the park and verify that they still take PA and what the restrictions and price are before arriving. I personally don't spend much time in the park, so I'm really only looking for hookups and a flatish place to park for the night... I explore during the day and come back to the RV for the night, so I really don't need any other amenities. I have always found the participating parks to be safe and clean, and the office staff is usually quite friendly and helpful.
Negative experience: We have been passport members for over 10 years and are finding the program much less beneficial. The last three campgrounds we have located using the directory are no longer accepting passport and we are now using the website and finding so many restrictions that it is not worthwhile. Will probably not renew again.
Positive experience: Checked into Carefree Manor in Apache Junction for a 2 week stay. The $3.50 utility charge is a per day rate for electrical. Plus there is a mandatory $21 fee for internet which is 1 bar wifi. We have never spent $49 for electricity in a month let alone for 2 weeks. Is there any way these fees can be better explained in the book?
Good Morning Leo! Thank you for contacting us in regards to your recent stay at Carefree Manor. I will happily look into this matter for you and follow up. Could you please contact us toll free at 1-800-681-6810 or email us at [email protected]. We need a few more details regarding your recent stay to file. However, I will gladly start looking into the information you provided. We greatly appreciate your feedback!
Positive experience: This is a wonderful discount, and so worth it if you can find RV parks that take it. Often, when we travel, it is outside the dates accepted. For instance in the Southeast, November through March most of the participating resorts do not accept Passport America. Sometimes only one night, sometimes (rarely) unlimited. Also information about the resorts are sometimes not correct, updated, or current. Twice the website said they had a pool and did not. One resort that quit taking PA said "they didn't need to anymore", because they had enough returning guests. In my opinion, most of the resorts are not of the highest quality, and need to take PA to get guests. We used it, and it paid for the membership, when we took a fourteen month road trip throughout the USA. In reply to the request from Passport America for the name of the campground who said they were no longer taking PA: It was Cedar Key RV resort. November 2017.
Hi Deanne! Thank you for taking your time to give us a review. I apologize for any inconveniences you experienced while traveling. Do you by chance know the name of the resort that stated they were no longer accepting the discount? I would be happy to research this matter further. While we do have many parks that only offer one night at the 50% discounted rate, we still have many parks that honor the discount for longer periods of time. The membership is based of the nightly stay, as with most parks and campgrounds, weekly and monthly stays are already discounted. Our team would also be happy to assist you in locating any parks along your route! While we do have small, privately owned and operated campgrounds participating in our program, we also have larger top rated luxury camping resorts as well participating. Please feel free to contact us toll free 1-800-681-6810! I would personally be happy to assist you.
Fantastic experience: This was a hoot. I needed a new card and the servicemen in the office were great. They got me a new card and helped me get my rig out of the tiny parking lot. But they sure were effecint.
Hi Jeanine! Thank you for the 5 star review. Please let us know if you ever need anything in the future, we are always happy to serve you!
Positive experience: Last summer we toured a number of states on our way to our winter home in Hemet, CA. The entire last half of the trip we were able to use Passport America as I recall. An amazing savings.....we just upgraded to lifetime membership. Certainly there are restrictions but they are fully explained on the website (or book) so one can negotiate the "hiccups" and still get a nice value for your membership.
Thank you Judy for your review! It's so great to hear about your amazing savings. Thank you for being a valued Passport America member!
Negative experience: it's off to a bad start... ordered a bunch of thing online the same day, one of them being the passport america membership. Talk about scamming hidden fee, 25USD to ship an enveloppe... funny thing, everything else i purchase the same day was free shipping regualr mail and i received all of them before the member card... how desparate are you to pull stuff like this, i didn't even left and i don't like your business
Good Afternoon Nick! I do apologize for any inconvenience. Membership cards are shipped at no charge to our members in a first class envelope. However, if we ship a directory, there is a small shipping fee inside the U.S. Directory shipments to Canada are sent International Priority Mail for $25 - an average of 14 business days for delivery. We understand your frustrations with the shipping fee. Unfortunately, with the size of our directory, this is currently the most effective and reliable shipping method to Canada at this time. Do you by chance ever frequent any RV Shows? We attend many RV shows across the U.S. that our members frequent to pick up a book at no charge. We also offer shipping options within the U.S for a small shipping fee. Again, I do understand your frustrations with the shipping fee to Canada. Please feel free to contact us toll free at 1-800-681-6810 to discuss any further concerns you may have.
