Fantastic experience: This is a great dive shop! The staff is friendly and really took the time to help me figure out the equipment and what worked best for my needs. They have a large variety of dive equipment to browse/ choose, service technicians, as well as interesting classes and trips. I'm very glad I found them.

Fantastic experience: All the employees at Undersea Divers are helpful, friendly, and attentive. I took the Advanced Open Water class over the summer and it was fantastic. Shawn is the best. I’ve also done several recreational dives (locally) with the shop - it’s just like diving with friends.

Negative experience: Buyer beware: Returned an item literally within 10 minutes of purchase. Was charged a 6% “fee”. This is blatant theft. I called around other shops in the area and seems like this is the only dive shop that does this. Honestly better make your purchase online. If you feel you need to promote local honest businesses there are plenty of honest dive shops around the area who care about customer experience. Oh they showed me the fine print on the receipt to show me that they had mentioned the return fee. If the disclaimer is on the receipt which is produced post transaction how is that a valid disclaimer? EDIT: We also returned the product because we found that they did not offer the bundle price that was advertised on the products page. Guess greed has no bounds to a point where you need to deceive your customer. Also they are lying that there is a disclaimer on the register. There are plenty of small business dive shops around the area who do not charge 6% transaction fee. I have reported this store to the consumer bureau. I will also report your store to scuba pro and Teric and all other brands you carry. I hope your brands agree with your store policy as well

Fantastic experience: My husband and I completed our PADI Certification pool training with Matt at Undersea Divers, and we're thoroughly impressed! Undersea Divers' flexibility and willingness to accommodate our needs when I struggled initially, were truly appreciated. Matt, our instructor, was phenomenal! His patience, expertise, and encouragement made all the difference. He created a relaxed and supportive learning environment, ensuring we felt confident and comfortable. Fantastic experience: I was getting back in the water after a few years away from diving. Whitney and Matt were incredibly helpful with upgrading my gear. I signed up for a refresher dive with Shaun once I got my new reg and wetsuit. The dive with Shaun was excellent! He was really helpful and we had an enjoyable morning shore dive. I can't say enough about how the staff at Undersea Divers made this an incredible experience for me!

Negative experience: Buy from Amazon instead. I went to buy a dive watch and the corresponding transmitter. The listed prices at the shop matched what I saw on Amazon, and so I thought it would be a good buy as I would be helping a local business rather than a giant company. However, after purchasing, I realized the price ended up being higher than what was listed on Amazon. When I attempted to return the items within only a few minutes, the employee stated the shop charged a 3% fee for purchases using the card and another 3% fee for returns. The man said this policy was on the receipt, but if it is on the receipt, I have obviously already paid and been charged the fee. Especially on purchases where the fee would be large, the shop truly should clarify any additional charges.

Fantastic experience: Undersea is the best dive shop in MA, and possibly the best I’ve ever been to. The owner, Whitney, cares about her customers and enthusiastically supports them growing as divers! Everyone there is genuinely kind and knowledgeable, and they helped me transition from tropical diving to cold water diving seamlessly. Always tons of gear to rent and for sale. Undersea is your best bet for diving in MA in the north shore! Happy diving!

Fantastic experience: Was in Bonaire 3-2-24 for a week with Undersea Divers at the DIVI Flamingo with my adult daughter. Overall was an excellent experience. Been diving 41 years. From the initial pre trip meeting at the store going over FAQ until the last meal we had with many of the attendees at the Mezza restaurant the night before departure, it met all of my expectations! What I found remarkable was the relationship Undersea has developed with the DIVI staff over the years. They presented Shaun Maquire a tee shirt with his likeness and DIVI Divemaster Denise wearing a Shaun look alike wig. I cannot say enough about Shaun who was on the same boat with my daughter and I. He provided a battery for my computer at breakfast the first diving day and corrected a BCD leakage issue. True professional!! Thank you Whitney and I look forward to my next trip with Undersea!! PS-I also met some wonderful local divers I hope to connect with to continue North Shore diving.

Fantastic experience: Feels more like a group of people that are excited to share their love of diving, than a retail store. Started diving with Shaun back in the days of the Dive Society. You could tell Shaun wanted everyone to enjoy themselves and be safe. He was always willing to help with gear problems or answer questions. I took the Peak Buoyancy course with Matt. He exudes excitement in sharing his knowledge and seeing other divers improve. Whitney is very knowledge and is so organized! I love how she takes care of everything related to the dive trips! Thank you Whitney!! I have gone to Roatan and Bonaire with Undersea divers and everything went so smoothly! I will be booking again as soon as I can. As I was saying in the beginning this place does not feel like a store. Its people who enjoy sharing their love of diving with others.

Fantastic experience: This is an excellent place to learn scuba diving. I did 2 courses with them: Try Scuba with Shaun and Scott, and Open Water Diver with Matt and Scott (pool), and Larry and Louis (ocean). All of them are great educators. The classes are very well organized and structured, and they are fun. Perhaps most important is that throughout the courses I felt very safe and taken care of. Good stuff.

Fantastic experience: Not usually one to leave a review but want to show some much deserved support for a local small business. My husband and I just got our open water scuba cert and our experience truly could not have been better. We went into this planning on just getting our pool instruction here and finding somewhere warm to do our ocean dives but very quickly we ended up booking our ocean dives here and can’t wait to join literally as many group dives as we possibly can. Matt and Scott were wonderful instructors, clearly demonstrating every skill and spending as much individual time as was needed with everyone. What a great experience, we can’t wait for our next dive!

Fantastic experience: Tons of fun on a guided dive with Shaun! He was very patient as I tried out a used drysuit I had just bought and acted like a lunatic. Great guide, great diving!

Fantastic experience: I could not imagine a better experience than the PADI certification training my son, daughter and I got at Undersea Divers. I don’t write many reviews, but I felt like I had to share this great experience. We just finished the final certification ocean dives (very comfortable in 52 degree water with the wet suit btw) with Matt, Luis and Colin and it was fantastic. Matt was our instructor throughout the course. He is encouraging, clear with instructions, patient and his enthusiasm for the sport is infectious. Luis was our dive master and worked with us on skills and to be sure we were comfortable and safe throughout. Colin is an experienced diver and dive master in training who also assisted with the Ocean dives. As you would expect, there is a good number of skills and training needed to dive safely and enjoyably, but it was so fun to learn with this great group of instructors. The equipment was first class too, which was nice. If you’re thinking about SCUBA or need some equipment, I could not recommend the team at Undersea Divers more!

Negative experience: I started my scuba diving training here last year and unfortunately I found the training to be terrifying. I left on my own and decided to seek out another local dive shop because I felt so unsafe with their training. I felt rushed through the training and did not have enough time to practice the skills. I struggled with a specific skill in the pool and the instructor told me I was fine and I would just do it in the ocean. The instructor took me and the other students in the ocean and had us do skills we never even did in the pool. When it came time do to the skill I had trouble with- I still struggled and I shot up out of the water in a panic and he told me he would pass me.. I literally thought I was going to die. Additionally, the person in the store told me I could only chose 1 specific type of gear to buy. Which led me to buy an awful pair of fins and I had to buy a whole other pair If you're considering this place for scuba training, I would highly recommend looking elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: I had two great experiences with undersea divers in the past month! First was a pool refresher class and the instructors were kind and helpful. After the class I decided to purchase a new mask and the woman helped me find a well fitting mask in record time. I’m always intimidated by a wall of masks but she made it easy! Will be back for all my diving needs.

Fantastic experience: Three years ago I left the below review and things have not changed in fact they continue to exceed all my expectations. I have bumped up my certification three levels with them and now truly feel like a diver thanks to Shaun, Larry, Matt and Luis. Whit's customer service is awesome and instead of having me deal with a vendor she championed getting a replacement for defective equipment. The north shore is lucky to have this dive shop!!!!!! ...Been going to this dive shop for over 10 years and it is the best. They have run great Discovery SCUBA sessions for the Cub Scout Troop I ran. They have great quality rental gear and their store is well stocked. The staff is welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. Also just had my youngest son certified there and they did a great job. Also a pleasure to swing by the store.

Fantastic experience: This is a great place to complete your Open Water Certification course! The staff was extremely friendly and receptive to all questions and concerns. The confined water dives were done in very small groups, and the instructors were attentive to everyone's needs. It was an amazing and fun time.

Fantastic experience: About five years ago, these awesome folks taught me to dive and helped kit me out in bargain (but still decent!) gear when I was a brand new diver, and continue to be my trusted source for shiny new gear and training as I adventure further. Whitney is happy to share her recommendations and super welcoming, no matter what your experience level; Shaun went to the trouble of assembling both my light setups for underwater photography before I left the shop (and without me asking); no question is stupid; they carry practically everything you would need in a pinch before a dive; and I somehow end up laughing every time I stop in. Their dive society is great for new divers who want to get some experience but might not have a lot of friends who dive. It (and advanced open water and rescue classes) helped take me from being a (painfully) shy, nerdy, inexperienced diver to a much-less-shy and even nerdier experienced diver. Selection, training, good vibes and opportunity for personal growth: 10/10.

Fantastic experience: Incredible dive shop. Whitney is so organized, friendly, and provides so many opportunities for new divers to get connected to the local dive community. Joining the undersea dive society really helped me to progress as a new diver because there were people there of all ages and with different levels of experience. Matt is the most enthusiastic dive instructor anyone can hope for and he strikes the perfect balance of supporting you while also challenging you to improve on each dive. The shop always had my kit ready when I came before the dives and I so appreciated that level of organization as so many dive shops lack this. I am so happy I found this place over the summer and I will always dive with Undersea anytime I am back in the area:)

Whitney and Shaun have been great to me; when I lived in another part of the country Undersea was still my go to shop and they made sure I got all my favorite dive gear FAST! I just stopped by on a Friday night within an hour of closing to get a couple hoods and some dry suit stuff. Matt and Shaun started sorting through gear right away to find what I need. If you love diving as much as I do - you will love this store.

Fantastic experience: These guys are the best! The dive store offers a wide variety of courses and certifications for all skill levels, taught by an excellent group instructors. Their store is well stocked with everything you would need for your scuba or snorkeling adventures. Most impressively, they are the center of a very active local dive community. Fantastic experience: Great shop with quality diving equipment, and super friendly and helpful team!! I took the PADI e-learning course and was looking for a place to complete my pool dives. Not having a learning buddy I was a little intimidated to move on to the next step, but I stopped by Undersea Divers and they welcomed me right away. Larry spent a lot of time one-on-one with me just educating me about equipment even before I signed up for the class or purchased anything. I registered for the pool dives and bought my mask, fins and snorkel the very next week. Within two half days in the pool with instructor Larry I felt very comfortable with the equipment functionality and how to respond to certain issues. They provided everything else including the wet suit so I didn’t have to invest too much up front. It helped that the students were really fun, too, and we had a great time! Definitely will go on some dives with Undersea this summer!

Fantastic experience: I have only ever had great experiences at Undersea Divers. 4 years ago I got my Open Water Certification (PADI) and 2 years ago I completed my Advanced Open Water certification. Everyone there, from employees to other local divers I have met at dive society, have been nothing but welcoming and friendly. The dive society is a great way to get more experience as a new diver and meet other local divers / make new dive buddies. As a more experienced diver going to dive society, its a good way to constantly improve your skills through frequent diving and helping newer divers. They have a knowledgeable and experienced staff. Able to answer questions, provide suggestions, without ever feeling like they were trying to push me just for the sake of selling me something. I did one of their group trips to Bonaire and it was the best vacation of my life. Everyone on the trip was very nice and despite not going with a friend, I had a great time and never struggled to find someone to hang out with for a beer or meal.

Fantastic experience: Experienced divers run the shop, teach dive courses and organize fun dive trips on the North Shore and in the warm waters of the Caribbean. They will help you pick from their wide selection of gear and back it up with warranties and yearly maintenance to keep your equipment safe and up to date. Our dive trip to Bonaire with the shop was our first dive trip and I can say they helped beginner divers with just a resort open water certification get through all the glitches that can occur and they really helped us increase our confidence during the 13 dives . The group was a large and enthusiastic one with lots of experienced divers who were willing to help those who were just beginning. The whole island is a marine sanctuary and the reefs and marine life were spectacular.

Positive experience: A great place to begin a scuba diving career. Took classes there back in the summer of '12 and have enjoyed diving with their experts ever since. Look out for the end of season sales for the best prices.

Fantastic experience: Bob, Whitney and the rest of the staff are wonderful, helpful people who are always incredibly accommodating and go out of their way to help. Prices at the shop are quite fair too. Don't hesitate to stop in and chat.
