AAA Johnstown Office

Negative experience: Will not go here ever again was treated rudely, and the woman that waited on us needs a lesson in customer courtesy, and needs retrained .......awful experience and we just moved here from out of state and our first experience was this lady rude didn't care .......

Negative experience: I went to AAA Monday July 15th to get a vehicle reconstructed title. I had a professional do the body work and the enhanced inspection. There wasn't much damage, all cosmetic damage. He set all the paperwork up for me so all I had to do was go to submit the paperwork. I have done this before and there's not much to it. The lady behind the desk at AAA was not impressed and looked over the papers saying "hmm" at each turn of a page. She got to the pictures of the vehicle and said she would not accept it because there was no sign of the business name in the pictures, which I never heard of before in 3 other instances of doing this. The guys name, signature, business, and state ID was all on the paper. I was not happy at all and this was extremely ridiculous in my opinion and a huge inconvenience since I took off work to do this. I was not driving back to the shop and have him retake the pictures so I tried another place. The other notary did it with no issues and said everything looked great. I don't know, I'm just guessing but I think she just simply didn't want to file the paper work because of laziness. I'll never go to that location again for any title work.

Fantastic experience: Great service title transfer & PA license plate transfer. They collected the taxes & the transaction was very smooth l!

Negative experience: We had an awful experience at this location. We knew based on the employee’s attitude when we approached her that we weren’t going to get anything accomplished. Sharon spoke to my husband and I like we were criminals. We were trying to transfer/register a vehicle we purchased. She suggested we could have “altered” our insurance information, telling us we needed to have our agent fax a copy directly to her. She made sure to repeat herself several times on the subject. Her entire attitude was disrespectful and demeaning. She claimed we needed a form that we didn’t have. She tried to put a value on our vehicle without having complete facts about it. We ended up walking away and going to a notary in town that had zero issues taking our business and completing our transfer. I called the next day to speak to the manager about the situation, turns out she was the other person “helping” Sharon. She admitted that Sharon’s delivery could have been better and stated she would address that. She also said she will forward my information to her boss, we will see if that happens. I see other reviews about staffs unfriendliness, maybe there should be customer service trainings at this location. Or perhaps a whole new staff!?

Positive experience: Ok place

Negative experience: My first time registering a car in PA was not handled properly. Louise was not pleasant nor helpful, I don't understand how her customer service is appropriate.

Fantastic experience: Had great customer service. First time I was there. Fast service.

Negative experience: The person who spoke with my husband regarding getting his car registered in Pennsylvania was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. Basically told him no one would be able to help him with his issue (there’s more to the story too). He called another company and they did it with absolutely no issue. They said this happens often with AAA, which comes as no surprise. Will not be returning here under any circumstance.

Fantastic experience: I'm sorry don't have a pic of my 206 Equinox, but AJ did a wonderful job fixing my flat tire he was so fast and got to my house so quick and was so nice he knew what he was doing and I will definitely call 3AAA again and ask for him if he's not too busy , I live in Johnstown Pa and my husband and I have had 3AAA for over 10 years and have always been great for us every time they have, come to help us thanks again AJ

Fantastic experience: We came to AAA to transfer a title and tags for a vehicle we just received and everything went smoothly. The lady who helped us was very experienced and k owledgeable. When we had called her prior to our arrival to inquire about completing the transaction, she made sure to tell us everything that we'd need for a smooth, seemless experience. One thing to keep in mind is that they cannot accept a digital insurance id or a printed one. Your insurance company will need to fax them one directly to prove insurability and coverage, but that was a minor thing and most insurance companies should handle that within 10 to 15 minutes. Great experience with great, intelligent people.

Negative experience: Bought my daughter membership for 2 years with 100+ towing. She has had 2 bad experiences. She slid in her driveway and wasn't able to get it turned around. She had 2inches of snow on her driveway. Told her they wouldn't tow it would jeadorize the driver. Neighbor helped her in 15 minutes. Two nights ago she was traveling to work night shift in nursing came down mountain, snow and ice slide off road aaa refused said it wasn't mechanical. Passersby person told her she had a flat tire she didn't know. Called back waited forever argued saying she had called earlier and didn't tell them about tire. After about 2 hours they finally did something told her she had to find a away home. She was so shook up she missed work. I have had aaa for years in altoona, pa and they treat us wonderful.

Fantastic experience: Open on a Saturday. Was able to obtain ez pass right away (early enough to activate & use by date needed. Reasonable price excellant service.

Positive experience: Pleasant staff, quick and efficient tag and title service. With the service charges applied it is a better option to use AAA, as the service fee is a basic membership,although I choose to pay the bit extra for a plus plan,if you need to be towed the plus plan covers up to 100 miles, basic is only 5 miles,those extra miles add up quickly.

Negative experience: Last year tried to get my vehicle jumped no response after hours I finally go get a battery myself at Walmart via Uber and get it to garage. Can’t afford a repair and have to wait to have it towed for months. Today I call finally since we want to get it home to Ohio and get working on it and we are told they cannot get it at the garage it is at because we are not with the vehicle they said. Sounds like any excuse not to make the long tow. Why should I even have to argue over what my membership covers. It was so strange when the guy tells me I have to check with your home office to see what is covered. It’s a premier membership that has not been used at all. I gladly cancelled, man we have had AAA for 30 years off and on when we could afford to. Never again.

Negative experience: What a miserable experience it is has been to deal with this office. Miserable attitude and absolutely unhelpful. The experience has me wondering why we are members of AAA. The tow truck drivers with whom they contract have a better disposition and display superior cognitive abilities than the person with whom I've had to deal with at this office.

Positive experience: I've used AAA services off and on over the years. I like the fact that this one is in a mall. For some reason it just feels more convenient and accessible. Their fees can be a bit steep but if you have a membership with them or want one it's not that bad.

Positive experience: GOOD PLACE FOR BOOKING TRIPS AND CAR INSURANCE COMPANY.

Negative experience: Do yourself a favor and avoid this location at all costs, especially when registering or titling a vehicle. As new residents of the state we were simply trying to do what we needed to get our vehicle registered. The manner in which the women in this office treated my husband was nothing short of disgusting. I see this is a recurring theme in the reviews below, so it appears there needs to be a change. I’m not sure if Louise was having a bad day or what, but wow. We will be using the other business in town to finish up what we need to do, and I will absolutely warn others of our experience as well. We will also be needing roadside assistance services for our vehicles now that we are here, but it will DEFINITELY not be through this AAA after what we experienced. I wish I was able to submit a formal complaint, because it is absolutely deserved.
