Fantastic experience: More important than the place was the fantastic and courteous service I received from my Travel Agent Landon Simpson. Due to a number of very dynamic circumstances, I had reason to change my travel itinerary 3 different times. Landon followed through from the first encounter, contemplating a long road trip, to every modification of a subsequent flight itinerary with professionalism, courtesy, and alacrity. I needed to be out of town for the loss and burial of a dear friend. Landon respectfully and compassionately made sure all my prospective travel arrangements were made and modified in extremely timely ways, including insurance purchases to protect my investment. His kindness, sympathy, and professionalism were apparent with every email or phone call, including those to ensure successful outcomes. My only disappointment was to learn that his final day with AAA of Beaverton, Oregon, was 09/13/2024!

Negative experience: Call made to AAA Beaverton for a tow truck. I was stranded in a parking lot and needed a tow 3.5 miles to a shop. I am 6 miles from the AAA in Beaverton. Estimated time 2 hours. No updates, or follow up. I’m a disabled veteran, and technician with over 25 years of experience in service, hospitality, and engineering. Taken from their website, regarding my benefits as a member- “AAA provides world-class roadside assistance, and exclusive discounts and services to its members.” After two hours I called AAA. Pro… I was able to reach a live person. Cons… The Call Center Reps are unsympathetic, rude, passive aggressive, un-knowledgeable, unhelpful, uncaring, disrespectful, and lack resources that other companies offer as an industry standard. They were quick to describe their service as inadequate, worthless compared to other companies, and not their problem. Absolute garbage customer service. Stop here if you’ve read enough. More to follow. Description of Service Provided: Penny answered the phone and I explained that I had been waiting for a tow for two hours and I needed to get home to my family… she responded with, “Would you rather do this tomorrow?” I asked her when I could expect a tow truck to arrive. She responded with, we are very busy right now and someone will be available in another hour and a half. I asked if I could speak to the driver, she said no. I asked if I could get an update on their status as well as location. She said no. Items in their website that are inaccurate. “Are you in a safe place?” Never asked. “Track your service technician in real-time with Service Tracker” No true. I asked her if it was a contractor, she said no, it was a AAA driver. I explained my situation and urgency in getting home. She was extremely passive aggressive and explained my problems are not her issue. I asked if I had other options and she said I could call another tow company, but it would be out of pocket. Possibility of some partial reimbursement, but no guarantee. I asked if she or anyone else there had any more information. She said she did not know, and no one there at that time would be able to help me, or provide me with details about reimbursement. I asked to speak with a supervisor regardless once she explained that because my membership was free under their promotion, I shouldn’t have high expectations on services provided regardless of what basic services you receive as a member. After a brief hold, Anton answered with his name and position. I asked him about the reimbursement, he informed me that if one was available, it would only be at the rate they would pay a contractor even though it was an AAA driver. But he ultimately made it clear he was guessing. He had no clue. And no way of me finding the information for myself. It was a wild guess for me to even attempt reimbursement and I would be taking a risk. Note: This is on their website. He did tell me that I was second in line. Now 9:30pm. Someone in front if me was 15 miles away and the driver just arrived. He said it would be another hour and a half. Given 2 and a half hours have passed by now. I was in an apartment parking lot… not the best part if town. He said my family problems or situation was not his problem and that this was the services people should expect when working with a company like AAA. He said the service is cheap if you are lucky to get any service at all… followed by, you get what you pay for. I was shocked. I had to hang up before I exploded. They completely discredited and destroyed the mission and values that they post on their website. Now 10:15pm, I was able to get a babysitter, no updates, and we’ll see when or if they send anyone at all. In conclusion, find someone else. Arrived 1204, delivered 1233… I appreciate Kia, Austin, and Liz for helping push this forward.

Negative experience: BEWARE!!! Just confirmed. Trying to get my deceased wife's vehicle back home 2,600 miles. Needed a temp permit as the title has been transferred to my name (had to be done in OR). AAA will not cover towing or roadside because it no longer has valid plates, only the temp permit. Abide by the law and get screwed by AAA. Never again will they get a penny from me. Absolutely useless when I needed them. This is B.S. Pound sand

What made it even easier was filling out the application in advance, which saved time. I also appreciated the option to have my photo taken on-site for a small fee. Negative experience: This is the letter I just sent to AAA on their website. Unimpressed. Hello, I just called roadside assistance to have my vehicle towed. The battery/alternator are not working and I need to have it towed to my mechanic. The vehicle has expired tags from 5/16/2021 and I need to have it registered. I was informed that AAA policy is a 6 month grace period on expired registrations, and AAA won't be able to provide me with assistance other than to refer me to a tow company and pay commercial rates. I have maintained my AAA membership since 2009 and recently this last fall added my wife to the policy. I have used my AAA Plus Membership very infrequently over the past 14 years, and this is exactly the type situation where it seemed appropriate to use. Your agent followed protocol and adhered to your 6 month grace period on not being able to use Roadside Assistance for registrations past the 6 month grace period. However, I am unhappy with those protocol and I feel there should have been more flexibility with this request. I need to have my vehicle repaired in order to get it registered, which means I need it towed to my mechanic. At this point it is highly unlikely I will be renewing my membership again this coming year. I'm a general contractor and use local towing companies for my commercial vehicles so I'll call one of them to take care of my needs today. I am dissatisfied with my experience today and it makes me wonder what value my AAA Plus membership actually provides.
Positive experience: I like many other unfortunate souls had to request the urgent care of this service I was not waiting very long thank God and the guy who showed up was friendly and got me on my way can't say a bad thing about him

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this AAA. We scheduled an appointment with John S and he was so cool! Very helpful and personable. We really kicked it off as he loves music and entertainment as we do. He also had a plethora of knowledge about each location that we were interested in seeing. Whether it be the weather ahead, college crowds, COVID testing, areas suited for a more relaxing scene with close access to nearby entertainment and amusement. John made us feel like we were getting the deals on things we were looking for as well giving his personal insight on local attractions that might not be listed on the web which can be very helpful when traveling to places unknown. Ultimately we decided on a less exclusive but nice little town called Fort Myers, Florida. Thanks AAA, and John for your service. I will update this review after our Honeymoon/ Birthday experience in Florida!!

Fantastic experience: Yesterday 9/8 I called for road assistance to safely get from Beaverton to Black Butte to meet up with our Daughter and her family. We are all AAA members. Fred Bushing(sp?) took the call and gave me the safest route and warning of roads to avoid because of fire danger. His whole demeanor was so informative and - caring! I was still nervous about making the trip with things changing all the time and eventually we decided not to go. We still had our Daughter and her Husband and 2 beloved Grandchildren at Black Butte and without us and with fire danger continuing to rise in the state they wanted to get home to Tigard. I called Fred again this morn bright and early and when he returned my call I almost cried because I had so much confidence in him knowing how to get them SAFELY home. Negative experience: Driver of vehicle 1lw or lh something of that sort was pushy and extremely disrespectful he came to my place of work and told me what to do like I was his employee I'm disappointed that you guys employee a driver like Duncan and will be calling monday to make a full report when I refused to stop doing my job and help he said ok then I'm leaving it half way in the building and leaving. That is not how you behave to other people ESPECIALLY when your at work. Very unsatisfied with your company / employees and I hope he gets repremended if not fired.

Fantastic experience: What an enormous helpful place! The staff, like all AAA locations, are always helpful. The parking lot entrance may be a bit weird if you are new to the area. This location has special rooms for classes/lectures on travel, and though I have not taken one yet, they seem interesting. Also a huge space for travel items including luggage sets.

Positive experience: We recently stopped by to pick up maps for a trip out of state. We were renting a car and generally car rental places give out lousy maps. We got great ones from AAA free. The folks there are really nice and helpful. Building is clean and also have a nice travel store with some great products to make your trip more enjoyable. Stop by you will be pleasantly surprised.
Negative experience: lier... such a lier! I asked specifically does it support China for international permit! And they say they do. When I research in Chinese, they don’t support the garbage permit that AAA issues. Do no business to cheap shot! Thats how you do business, America!

Negative experience: The people at this service center are always nice, but as a whole, AAA has been a let down over the past five years. In that time I have called for service 3 times. The first time my car was stuck in snow in the middle of the road. When I called I was told it would be at least a 2.5 hour wait. I was able to find someone to pull me out way before that. But things happen, no big deal. The next time I needed assistance my car would not start in an airport parking lot. I called and asked for a jumpstart. I was told it would be 45 minutes. 90 minutes later I called back and was told nobody had been dispatched. I ended up finding someone else to give me a jumpstart. The last time I needed assistance it was because I injured my left ankle while on a trip and was on crutches. My vehicle has a manual transmission and I was not supposed to be using my left ankle. So I called and asked for my car to be towed to my house. They refused because I was honest that the car was fine, I just could not drive it.
