Fantastic experience: We could not have been happier with the cake that Nadine provided for our hospital event to celebrate mothers with babies currently in our NICU. It was beautiful beyond measure and tasted absolutely delicious! Our NICU mothers truly felt appreciated and special :)

Negative experience: My experience was terrible with this establishment. I will highly recommend anyone to never Try this place. I will never forget how nasty the Employees Attitude was toward me. They rude and inconsiderate toward their Customers.

Fantastic experience: Who Made the Cake created the most beautiful and delicious grooms's cake for our wedding. Their signature chocolate flavor is their most popular for good reason- it was so tasty, I don't think there were any leftovers! Nadine was easy to work with and readily accommodated a design change after our initial consultation. We received so many compliments not only about the flavor of the cake but about the design as well- several people asked us if the fondant soccer scarf they crafted was real! Absolutely fabulous overall.

Negative experience: I’m Out of state but came in for my sons wedding .. I emailed a pic of a drawing I wanted the cake to look like Nadine sent me her drawing (and I agreed to it$ sent her the money and never heard from her the cake arrived at the venue and it was nothing like I agreed to I specifically said I didn’t t want the glove sticking up in the air with wrists down and that’s exactly what she did ..the cake plate the cake was set on had a tarnished area that was seen (I was very embarrassed ) I have reached out to her multiple times for a refund with no response so therefore I have no choice but to leave a very disappointed bad review )I assumed with the media, tv etc she would of been better at making the cake I agreed to she did not make me the cake I agreed to and pairs her almost $1000.00 my sons last name wasn’t even on the cake

Fantastic experience: Look no further than Who Made The Cake for your wedding cake. We had it delivered to our venue which was an hour away from the bakery and it arrived fresh and not a scratch or dent on it. The cake is absolutely delicious! All of our wedding guests couldn’t stop talking about how it was the best tasting cake they’ve ever had and I couldn’t agree more. We saved the top of the cake to eat it for our one year anniversary and once we tawed the cake out, it was just as good and fresh as it was on the wedding night! I can’t recommend them enough! Will definitely be purchasing from them again for special occasions in the future!

Positive experience: Who puts metal in an edible item? Many of these flowers are much smaller like thumbtacks. What the actual??? 4 people at our table has thumbtack size metal flowers in our cake. Liability!!! Editing review because of owner response. Originally 1/5 but 4/5 based on response.

Fantastic experience: My GO TO cake maker for all events! I hired Nadine and her team for my partner's 60th birthday. The cake was spectacular and tasted out of this world! We had a traditional white wedding cake butter cream with a chocolate with chocolate butter cream on bottom. The fondant icing is so yummy, smooth and not too sweet. I am not an icing person and the icing was so perfect! Out of 69 party attendees, over half made a point to come to me and RAVE about the cake! People who "do not eat cake" ended up having a piece and being WOWED. Who made the Cake did our wedding cakes 10 years ago and we have had them make all our special event cakes ever since. SO VERY WORTH IT! YUM! I want some cake now just writing this review.

Fantastic experience: Nadine makes the most delicious cake! We had a great time trying different flavors during the ordering process and fell in love with and picked options we never imagined we'd get. She understood the design and executed perfectly. The almond cake with raspberry filling was incredible and the chocolate cake with chocolate chips and chocolate buttercream was to die for. She made the process easy and delivered perfectly! I'd recommend Nadine for all of your cake needs!

Positive experience: Hired for my wedding. A three tier cake for 100 people. Base layer (biggest layer) was fake as discussed. Provided all the inspiration pictures and had a long in-person consultation and cake tasting. Everything was disclosed and discussed. I was assured of what I’ll be getting. I specifically asked about the cake topper and the owner herself confirmed it is possible and it will be done. I wanted a 3-D bird on top. We discussed the shade of gold and it was not even close to the shade I picked. My only issue despite the let downs was the price which was a lot more than any other business for what I asked. I could have gotten a better execution maybe even without the hideous cake topper for a much lesser price. Taste was good, customer service is excellent. But over $1600 usd + rental for a two tier cake and a fake layer is too much

Fantastic experience: Cake was beautiful and delicious!

Negative experience: This is by far the worst experience I have had with a bakery. I called to get a quote on a tiered cake this bakery made for a birthday party I attended last week and was denied due to “customer confidentiality.” The man I spoke with was rude and impatient. I was told I would get a call back but I never got one. When I tried calling back today, my call did not go through and I realized my number was blocked. It should not be this difficult to get something as simple as a price of a cake. I was not asking for any personal information about the other customer, I simply wanted a quote. Instead, I was met with short responses from a man who spoke to me as though I were an inconvenience to him. Thankfully, I reached out to The Village Bakery, which provided the other desserts for the birthday party I attended, and was pleasantly surprised. The workers there were very friendly and patient with me, and had no trouble giving me a quote on the cake. I went in for samples and their cakes are nothing short of delicious. It is safe to say I will never be ordering from here again, and I highly recommend going to the Village Bakery for any cakes or catering needs.

Fantastic experience: I still remember my first conversation with Nadine. Basically, me telling her I would need a cake without fondant, because I hate fondant. This as I was eating my final bite of cake (angels had started singing during this experience). She said, "that cake (you're eating) has fondant". I argued with her for a few minutes, and then I texted my (now) husband to tell him we were booking her. She is so down to earth and friendly and INCREDIBLY talented. You dream it up, she makes it REALITY. and the cake is ALWAYS as good as it looks. ALWAYS WORTH THE MONEY.

Negative experience: Tried to buy a cake from them. They made it so hard it was astonishing. Tried to book a cake for 5 weeks. Never got a confirmation or an invoice. Holly kept rudely putting us off. We were told they were “busy” and that they would “get to us”. And so on. It was shocking actually.

Fantastic experience: Cake tasted amazing! All my guests asked about who the baker was. Cake was fresh, soft, and moist. I am extremely picky when it comes to desserts and this cake was to die for. Probably one of the best cakes I have ever tasted! She also was able to accommodate my gluten allergy and made one of my cake layers GF. It all tasted amazing and came out so beautifully.

Fantastic experience: WMTC made my wedding cake last year and I received so many compliments for months afterwards from people saying how good it was. Fast forward to our one year anniversary. There was a miscommunication regarding saving our top tier, and they went ahead and made us another one with less than a week’s notice. We so appreciate Nadine and her husband (who I spoke with over the phone) for being so accommodating and understanding.

Negative experience: I went with Who Made the Cake since my cousin refers them and we had a cake tasting before we put in a full deposit. It was for a wedding in April 2020 and unfortunately covid hit everyone unexpectedly we had to postpone until further notice. My cousin was working primarily with the office manager and she was stressed out and very unhappy dealing with the whole thing for us to get the gift certificate. Fast forward to Sept 2021, I decided to take over when the gift certificate was about to expired. They told me the price for the cake with the same ingredients has increased. Having a small business myself, I completely understand and are fine with extra fees. I changed the design a bit and they charged more, which is fine with me. I remember asking about silver plate but it was gold on the contract, I remembered wrong and that was my fault. So everything were finalized in Oct 2021. If we were to reschedule again, we had to pay for a rescheduling fee. Which I wasn’t too happy with since they’ve been paid since 2020, no cake has been made yet…so being a bit more lenient would have helped. We paid about $375 for a cake so I had high hopes and expectations. Planning everything myself, near the day of our wedding in March 2022, I had to reach out to confirm on the cake. Not the company. When confirming, the very least they could have done was to remind the client about the contract, and bring the gift certificate. Things were so crazy busy, we didn’t have the gift certificate at pick up. We asked if we could give it later tmr and since the gift certificate has a id #, no one can reuse it since they have a photo of it. They kept on saying its in the contract like we have their contract glue to our heads. And would not try to work with us. Someone else had to bring the certificate to them that was 35mins away. Overall the cake looks fine. When we cut the cake for the cake cutting ceremony, the cake literally crumbled. We had tiny pieces on the plates for pictures…The cake was super sweet and tasted nothing like the cake we taste tested. Part of the cake was moist and parts were dry. We threw 70% of the cake away bc it was just falling apart and too sweet. The photo is of the cake after being cut after the ceremony, the cake fell apart without any foul play. There are mistakes on my parts as well as theirs, but they were not willing to work with us as customers. I felt cheated out of my cake and will tell everyone to stay away. Ridiculous customers service and overall terrible experience.

Negative experience: All of the cake samples tasted delicious!! However, for this being an exciting time in the wedding planning, we were underwhelmed by the service in-house. All of Nadine’s employees seemed like they didn’t want to be there and Nadine herself was bland and not engaging/friendly like we had hoped for such a fun exciting decision to make.

Negative experience: Paid nearly 1k for my wedding cake and they completely botched it. The cake didn’t even look like what I paid for and on top of that the cake was so dry my guests had to eat it with water. I’m so embarrassed I raved about this place to all my friends who are getting married soon. Save your money and go elsewhere because they’ll just belittle your concerns even if you have proof.

Fantastic experience: Oh Hot Damn! Who Made the Cake? Yes, that's who! I ordered a Zebra-ra cake for my BFF's birthday party on Saturday! The Vanilla Cinnamon Cream Cheese fondant cake was to die for!!! Of course my guests asked numerous times, "Who Made The Cake?" I thought the flavors were going to clash! They did not, it was the BEST cake ever! It was delivered earlier than expected, which was great! The cake was moist and simply exquisite! Why consider anywhere else when you are guaranteed the best cake at "Who Made The Cake." I'm super tough to please! A perfectionist! Rarely anyone lives up to my expectations! This cake was exquisite! Thank you "Who Made The Cake!" You made my day! My BFF said it was the best birthday ever! She didn't recognize that it was a cake! She thought it was a stuffed animal! Which means you exceeded her expectations as well!

Negative experience: All I can say is this was one of the worst cake tastings we've ever had. From when we entered the owners office she had an attitude and very unprofessional. I would NOT recommend this place.

Negative experience: This place has the worst service of all time. We went in there to see if they could make a custom cake, and then instead of talking to us, the lady literally told us to go email them instead. The place was empty! So in the end, Who Made the Cake? ...Rustika. And they did an amazing job.

Fantastic experience: Who Made The Cake? It's not only the name of the company, but also a question asked a million times once people tasted how wonderful the cake at our wedding was. Perfect. Simply said. "Who made the cake" should be the answer to that question whenever it's asked forever more. Never go anywhere else.

Negative experience: Their staff is incredibly sweet and helpful. Her staff should be doing the consultations and not her. Their staff made us so excited for our cake consultation but then we met Nadine (owner). She was incredibly rude and impatient with us. She gets upset quickly if you don't sign the agreement immediately w/o reading it first (ironic since the contract has bold lettering for you to read everything..) and rushed the entire consultation. You will feel like just another number when you walk in because she could care less that my name was 100% the opposite of what she written down. The consultation is in her small office while she stares at you tasting asking you to choose what flavors and make the decisions immediately after. Honestly, I don't get the rage because the other 2 cake tastings that we did tasted so much better and had a LOT more options/variety. We happily went with another bakery for our wedding cake / groom's cake and they were incredibly patient with us every step of the way and even gave us the privacy/plenty of time to discuss the flavors we liked and what we wanted the entire way. CRAZY what a night and day difference our consultation was with her vs. everyone else. Trust me, there are way too many other great bakeries out there for you to waste your time here. Overpriced + rude = no thanks UPDATE: Its interesting how our experience was an exception. We asked to have some time to look over the contract w/ our new coordinator after just receiving the papers from her before proceeding then we could've happily scan back the signed contract within the next few days. She got frustrated with us and then stated "I don't understand why this is a problem, everyone who comes here signs the agreement immediately" and then proceeded to tell us that everything that we needed to know was already told. After countless of experiences, I have firsthand knowledge that what was spoken can tend to contradict what is on the paper. For anything w/ terms that requires our initials / signatures, I will need to read it first. After we saw her frustration was completely clear over this simple request, we left immediately because she made us feel so uncomfortable. This review is based on my personal experience alone. Examples of other great past clients' experiences doesn't address our personal experience and how it can affect someone else in the future. I would advise anyone seeking a vendor to see how a vendor would respond towards previous negative reviews first. A vendor's response towards negative reviews allows you to see how they would respond or how flexible they would be if there was an issue or unexpected event that occurs later on for your event.

Fantastic experience: Words sometimes don't feel enough to express gratitude and we are so thankful to Who Made the Cake. Usually wedding cakes look nice but are usually predictable in flavor, bland and dry. Not in our case. Our 5 tiered Mimosa Cake with Mimosa buttercream was so beautifully made. It was moist, delicious and the buttercream frosting was heavenly. The attention to detail, from the piping to the delicate sugar flowers was a sight to behold. So many of our guests kept coming up to us saying it was the best wedding cake they had ever had. I never thought I would have a wedding cake as special as this. Thank you Who Made the Cake! We loved it.

Fantastic experience: I've had many cakes in my life, but this cake was EVERYTHING! The marbling on the cake was fantastic and the icing melts in your mouth. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of cake, design and professionalism.

Fantastic experience: They made my Husband's 35th Birthday a huge hit with this cake! This cake was better than I ever imagined, it was so cool and delicious! Raven, the office manager, was so easy to work with via email. My husband brews his own beer and I had this crazy idea to incorporate his beer into the cake. Raven and Nadine made it happen! We will be forever grateful for it.

Negative experience: First time using this place, I usually use Three Brothers but thought I would try this place since it was a special occasion and this place has so much recognition. I was very disappointed with look of the cake and the taste was not good at all not to mention over priced for what I got.

Negative experience: Extremely poor customer service from office manager. Weak processes and strong policies do not make for good customer experiences. Have been recommending them for over 10 years but after recent experience will never recommend again and will advise others to look elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Overall we had a wonderful experience. We enjoyed our cake testing and we absolutely loved our cake! It was very beautiful and very tasty! Everyone kept talking about our cake and texting us to see if we had extra! Everyone who didn't eat frosty before the wedding, definitely made an exception at ours. Fantastic experience: Every cake I have gotten has been THE BEST!! Great design, one was a very detailed set of lifelike fish. So lifelike that the kitchen staff at the restaurant freaked out and tried to put the ‘fish’ in the fridge!

Fantastic experience: Who made the Cake is the only place I use for all of my cakes. Nadine and her staff always go out of their way to make each cake special. Plus their customer service is incredible. They truly sit down and listen to what your needs are for that particular occasion. I have used them for birthdays, holidays and special parties. Her cakes taste so incredible. They literally melt in your mouth. I have tried everything from a basic one to one with multiple fillings. Fantastic experience: In all honesty, I avoiding going to "Who made the Cake" because I assumed they were incredibly expensive and only dealt with high-in clients. I WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOOO WRONG! Nadene and her husband are beyond the best & most personable cake shop of people we have met in our long year planning of our wedding. We literally visited every cake shop in Houston & NO ONE's prices and service beats "Who Made the Cake" and not to mention the cake is incredibly GOOOD! They are not about taking your money & serving you want you pay for,... they literally care about making your cake fit into your special wedding day & thats what I appreciated the most! We are getting our dream cake inside the budget that set in the beginning and it's going to be even more GRAND than we expected. I would not recommend any other cake service in Houston besides this establishment. My wedding is in 12 days & I cant wait to see how amazing my cake looks! WE ARE SUPER EXCITED!

Fantastic experience: This place is phenomenal. We ordered a very custom cake. We are very picky, and somehow they made exactly what we were looking for. It took a couple days longer than expected but that was due to our ever changing demands. Thank you guys for hitting it spot on.

Fantastic experience: Who Made the Cake made my husbands 50th Bday cake for 100 people. The cake was not only Beautiful it was one of the best cakes we’ve ever tasted. Everyone at the his party raved about it! We will definitely be back

Negative experience: Cakes are awesome , customer service not so good. Honestly, I shouldn't have to " know " a person or deal with a person before I realize how they are. Very professional from a business aspect but not so personable. I think that'll be a huge plus if it was a skill worked on. Nadine , sketched up a good image of what I wanted but in the end I felt like she was giving me what she wanted. When I left I didn't feel like I was getting what I wanted, felt pressured to get what she thought would be best. Going into Who Made The Cake , I didn't have a " budget" but when I left I knew I wouldn't be spending a dime with this company. I can take my dollars elsewhere ! She was my last cake testing and I wasn't impressed. Great choices to choose from though.

Fantastic experience: I used them for my weddings cake back in 2014, and at a younger age, prior to my wedding, I temporarily worked for Nadine as receptionist though a temp agency, which is how I found out about the place. After reading the negative reviews, I get how some people may feel Nadine comes off as a little unfriendly. I kind of agree... However, that seems to be just who she is and her cakes are phenomenal! I can't wait to have my baby shower next spring just so I can order a cake from her. My wedding cake was worth EVERYTHING, including her perceived "dry" attitude because Nadine delivers quality and visually. I also know and witnessed the diversity amongst her staff and family. This is just an honest review that I should have wrote a few years ago.

Negative experience: My experience with Who Made the Cake was not a positive experience, except for the consultation. Nadine was very accommodating and listened to everything I wanted while she designed the cake. My bad experience began during my husband's 50th Birthday Party. As indicated in the picture, the Golf Clubs should have been made out of sugar paste, but instead they were plastic. Also, while everyone was admiring the cake and my husband's golf group were taking pictures in front of the cake, the fondant began sliding off of the cake. I immediately called Nadine, and she ask was it warm in the area of the cake, she also informed me of what time the cake had been delivered and the cake should have been cut by now. I am not a professional baker, therefore I didn't know that the cake had to be cut within a certain timeframe, THIS WAS NOT TOLD TO ME, during our consultation. Nadine then informed me to start cutting the cake and then she apologizes. Nadine, please inform your clients of this so that they won't be totally embarrassed!! Also, during our function, I assumed that the cake would last a while, similar to a wedding cake, they are on display almost all day. I also don't think anyone really ate the cake because after the fondant slide off the cake did not look appetizing anymore, a huge waste of over $800!!

Fantastic experience: My wedding cake was beautiful ,moist, and so delicious. I did not think that fondant Icing would taste that good, but My, my, my, has it come a long way. The grooms cake was beautiful, and also tasted delicious. My vision came to life. Our cakes were the best EVER!!! Hands-down I have never eaten a cake at anybody else’s wedding that tasted that Amazing & Delicious. I was a little pissed that I didn’t have any cake left to take home because the vendor took most of it. But I do have my top layer and we are looking forward to eating it next month. From now on they will be making all of my cakes. I can’t thank Ms. Nadine enough for making this process so easy and memorable.

Fantastic experience: Best cake company in town by a mile - we’ve been using Nadine for over a decade and she and her team are and have always been top notch. I’ve attached just three cakes they’ve done for us as I couldn’t find my other photos. The very best part of the cake is the taste. We prefer the white cake with the amaretto buttercream but they are all incredible! They will not disappoint and all your guests will be asking “who made the cake!?”

Negative experience: I’m blown away by how poor the customer service is. My sister, the bride-to-be, is a meticulous planner and went out of her way to make sure to get an appointment here. She was SO excited because she KNEW she was ordering her cake today. So, she took time off from work, and showed up on time for her appointment. But they lost her appointment! Turns out they scheduled her for the week prior! Ok, it’s a mistake. But the kicker is that they wouldn’t even acknowledge the error or accommodate her! They told her she would have to reschedule! She was so disappointed and in tears from her treatment there. This is totally unacceptable! Needless to say, we will NOT be ordering a cake from there. If you can’t keep an appointment, what does that say about your dependability??

Fantastic experience: When I saw my cake I almost cried. It was so beautiful, and took my breath away. It definitely was a show stopper. Nadine was extremely nice, and took the time to sketch our very own personal wedding cake. The cakes were extremely moist, and delicious. I was a little worried about our budget, but Nadine was open to designing a cake around it. If you don't give her a try, your missing out on the best cake shop in Houston. Everybody at the wedding was asking “Who made the cake?!” The least you can do is check the place out. It's definitely worth visiting. I’m so thankful I was recommend to Nadine. I highly recommend her, and will use her and her staff again! Thank You Nadine!

Positive experience: The best cake in town, hands down -- Schubert's Opera cake. It's been a huge hit at all our birthday and holiday celebrations. Beautiful decorating, fresh ingredients, perfect richness.

Fantastic experience: They worked with my Husband and I decorating our cake and providing us with everything we were looking for in a cake. When we came in for the first time she had a variety of 7 or 8 pieces of cake to try with a glass of water. She was very knowledgeable on what she cooks and what she provides. We went threw albums and gave her my vision, she used colored pencils to draw exactly what hi wanted. When i was at the venue and came down to meet my husband i saw the cake and it was exquisite. I got very good reviews on how our cake was fresh and tasted wonderful.

Negative experience: I was being stereotyped by the employees there today maybe because of my ethnicity. I've had the worst customer service experience ever

Fantastic experience: Nadine is awesome! We met with her personally to design our wedding and grooms cakes and also tasted their more popular flavors. After meeting with 3-4 other bakeries before Who made the Cake, we immediately knew that we wanted to book with them and signed the contract and made full payment that day. Nadine talked us through all the possibilities for both the wedding and grooms cake. The cakes on our wedding day were absolutely amazing. The wedding cake was gorgeous, the icing flowers were beautiful, and the grooms cake was awesome (R2D2 3D cake for the star wars lovers out there, see pics). I would definitely recommend booking with Who made the Cake!
