Fantastic experience: Just came off my 2nd vacation with this company. I absolutely have no complaints. Resort was booked and easy to check into. I also booked transportation and they were ready when we got there and they picked us up in a timely manner to get back to the airport. Experience both times were 10/10!!

Negative experience: Transfer Service Was A Scam A group of seven friends and myself recently traveled to Barbados for seven days. In order to reduce complexity in booking several members of our group booked separately. I booked a 173 USD private transfer on the website for the 15 minute ride from the airport to our hotel. The website clearly stated "valid for up to eight passengers" and had no available entry point for my other travelers. I collected the monies from my group and assumed we were good to go. When we arrived at the airport after 8hrs of travel the agent on site informed me that the private transfer was only valid for the person who booked it. She did her best to contact Nexsus and resolve the issue (She was very sweet), but wasn't able to get anywhere. After waiting for 30+ minutes in nearly 100 degree heat we were forced to make other arrangements. I was unable to leave the other members of my group because I was the active chaperone. I contacted vacation express after we reached the hotel and fully expected a refund based on the situation. I was then transferred to the "destination team". This is where things get interesting. Over and over again, using multiple attempts to use different contact methods I was transferred to the same person. (I think systematically) This person agreed to refund me for the return trip but vigorously refused to return the original transfer. We had another member of our group arrive the next day and they were also refused transfer service / a refund, this time because "she didn't confirm in time". Neither her nor anyone in my group physically saw a single Nexus bus at the airport. The person responding to my emails has spent more than the $86.50 cost typing out emails. This wouldn't make sense unless there was some widespread benefit to this strategy. I'm pretty confident they are operating a scam and vacation express is unaware.

Negative experience: Read the most recent reviews and you’ll notice a trend. This is what I posted for white sands travel - they booked via vacation express. An entire scam : DO NOT BOOK FOR WEDDING COORDINATION !!!!!! Honestly pretty surprised by the the reviews… Judith and Sean managed to mess up something for every person in the destination wedding. For me, they took weeks to get back to me about hotel booking, sent the wrong location in one email, the wrong couple in another email, and charged me for an additional night. Judith wants me to eat the cost of the additional night because of a « contract , » to which I have no idea what she’s talking about. The return shuttle was not coordinated appropriately and two of us had to organize a taxi, even after spending a lot of money. She charged $384 per night for the RIU, and as you can see in the photo the weekend prices started at $75. Several people booked « sea view » rooms, including the bride, and they were given harbor views or parking lot views. I don’t have anything good to say about Judith and Sean.

Negative experience: We used a travel agent who booked a trip through them. Suffice it to say we had many bumps along the way, and they did nothing to take care of things in the middle of a crisis or reimburse us. We lost almost a whole day of a trip and got stuck an extra day in an airport. i simply asked that they reimburse our overpriced airport food. What did they do? Offer us a 300$ coupon for another trip with them as if we would use them again.

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars, I would. I was apart of a bachelorette group who booked a trip through a travel agent who used vacation express and when we were unable to go on the trip, and needed to cancel, vacation express made the process a complete nightmare. My bachelorette group and I have been dealing with this ordeal for over 2 years to get refunds. We’ve been given the run around by talking to various representatives at Vacation Express, being told that we would have to go through Delta to get the missing funds which was false and other excuses to avoid providing refunds. Based on this experience, I will never use them again and I won’t use travel agents that use them either. Vacation express will cause you nothing but stress, a loss of your money and an unpleasant travel experience.

Negative experience: I booked a trip through a travel agent who used vacation express and when I was unfortunately unable to go on the trip, and needed to cancel, vacation express made the process a living nightmare. My travel agent has refused to give me the booking number or any information pertaining to the flight so I decided to call vacation express directly to see if I could remedy the situation. I was transferred to a specialist named Richard and he was rude and arrogant. He spent the entire call talking over me and interrupting me. He got an attitude with me when I was simply trying to see if there was a work around that didn’t involve the booking number since my travel agent wouldn’t give me that information. Based on this interaction and some other things that have happened involving a mishandling of money, I will never use them again and I won’t use travel agents that use them either. Vacation express is incredibly unprofessional, disrespectful, and not helpful. Beware of using this third party company. Book direct or use another company and save yourself the headache.

Negative experience: Delta canceled our flight to Aruba with the option to travel a day later—which we agreed to. Vacation Express said they would help us push out our hotel dates by a day on each end to accommodate the flight changes. It’s been over 48 hours, and they told us they “verbally” made the change with our hotel (Hyatt) but never sent us anything in writing. When we called the hotel to confirm, they gave us our original dates and said nothing was changed. When we called VE back, they gave us the runaround, pointing blame on our wonderful travel agent and left us waiting on hold for over an hour. We tried handling the changes on our own, but the hotel—who we have called 5+ times—tells us they can only amend the reservation through the original booker, Vacation Express. So here we are in limbo wondering when we are coming back home and hoping our transfers to/from the hotel were updated, but we have no answers. We will be at the airport in 12 hours. This is unacceptable.

Negative experience: I was promised to a refund due to unable to go on my trip and I probably spoke to every rep who All gave different answers. My agent was not of any help, never went over terms and conditions or said two words only took the money stating she wanted the commission. There were no reps that spoke or understand good English and feel this company should be investigated!!!

Negative experience: travel to Cancun April 2021 trying to get second trip scheduled. this is the foolishness I have encountered. I would like a Manager to call me. your attendant Albert hung up on me two times and I stayed in phone with him for total of over an hour. When I call back he said there was no manager for me to talk to and he said the managers were all gone to lunch and nobody will be back until 6:44 Central Standard time. I said Albert you guys get off at 7pm I know I know everybody's not gonejust to come back to work for 15 to 20 minutes then get off...another stall and lie tactic. 3 different attempts on there different occasions prior to getting Albert first lady said I had until 2020 the second person said I had until the end of the year by the time I call back the third time they said it had expired which is a lie because it gives until Dec 2022. so then I end up getting Albert tiday..I am so upset because this is seeming like a scam Albert says to me that he didn't have any Costa Rica trip available between November 29th to December 16th but yet he offered me Punta Canta which is 24% less than Costa Rica. I can pay for punta on my own but Costa Rica was the driving force of my purchase. I cannot get off during the November time frame he suggested 2 nd week of November which is two short of notice today is 12th and Im moving to California on October 27 the to start a new job November 7 th. Albert ..he dropped the call twice and I called right back . I told him that I wanted to go to Costa Rica which is on my voucher as trip 2 then I said okay Albert do you have anything for the rest of December he says no. I said I will change my schedule to whatever I need to do for December to go to Costa Rica. I cannot do punta Canta I need Costa Rica cuz that's what you advertise. as he said no we have nothing for December ... I ask to speak to a manager and then the shenanigans begin as I stated in first paragraph. I will try once more then I will have satisfied my agreement. he would not provide a manager name nor a manager contact number. these people are co artist. this is the worst customer experibnce I have had. It was not like this for my reqyiedfist trip to Cancun in April of 2021. I will not stop until you guys honor this voucher. I will call back.

Negative experience: We saw an advertised price for an all inclusive vacation in Cancun. Due to expire on 04112021. We called before the expiration date and was advised of a higher price. The representative said she would get back with us. After the 4112021 deadline had passed we received an email saying the booking had been canceled. We had never been called back and given the opportunity to book at the advertised rate. Clearly bait and switch. Do not use this company.

Fantastic experience: We rely on vacationexpress.com for booking travel versus the other sites out there. We have booked several trips with them and have needed their assistance on a couple of occasions (one COVID-related and one not). We have always been satisfied with their service and assistance. They are also proactive with communication (arranging transportation, etc.) when we may have forgotten about it. I highly recommend Vacation Express for your travel needs.

Negative experience: HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! Do NOT use!! Tried to plan a group bday vacation and from the start had problems. Poor communication, not professional and poor quality of services that I expected from a travel agency. Found out person we were dealing with got FIRED for improper business techniques!!!!! Manager took over and was actually ok (only reason got 1 star). Since Covid, had to cancel entire trip and now they are telling some of us we can’t get our money back?!???!?! Can’t except that it is just gone. Will be dealing with the BBB soon.

Negative experience: Love Akumal Bay Beach and Wellness center. We were to go on April 18th thru 24th but we cancelled the first of March with all the warnings coming out. Lost our $200 deposit. If we would have waited Vacation Express would have allowed us to transfer it to a latter vacation. NOT HAPPY!

Positive experience: We went to Natura Eco Park in Punta Cana. The trip was very affordable and we had a wonderful time. They are going to renovate this place and we will surely go back again. It’s full of all kinds of exotic birds. The staff is very friendly.

Negative experience: Called while on vacation with issue they hung up on me after 30 minutes and didn't bother calling back. Nexus tours which is part of Vacation Express will lie to get you're money buyer beware. Supposed to have had private transportation not crammed in a van like sardines with 4 other people

Negative experience: I would not recommend this company to anyone - they are taking people information and not following back up- regarding employment - and vacation bookings. Additionally, these folks asked me to fill out background information which included my social security number and never followed back up ! Elma Placeres Dieppa Is unprofessional beyond measures ! Do not work with this company - it is a scam ! And better and more affordable traveling agencies are out there. Thank you, Statement for owner - as I stated before - Elma Placeres Dieppa - is very unprofessional. She lied about me not being about to get a validated ticket after parking. Additionally, I don’t believe it is appropriate to take someone background information without no intentions of using it. I contacted checkr - whom explained that my background check was not even completed - so for Elma, to give me a start date for the tenth of February- lie about validation - it is all weird and very unprofessional

Negative experience: Big problem, l had insurance for trip, life change and I cancelled trip. Spoke with agent before cancelation and ten times asked about due date for the next trip. Answer was -one year. Get voucher. Now trying to make reservation for new trip. Can not use voucher for flight, one year since issue tickets, not cancelation as I was told. Spoke to supervisor. Promised to call me next day, nobody called. After reservation and payment company does not want have anything to do with you. Poor service, not professional, not telling you what to expect after cancelation and how much will be charged again. Where to call, to speak with owner Never again will use this company.

Positive experience: I would definitely travel through Travel Express again the only thing that I would do differently is to make sure I have a contact numbers for the travel agency in the case that I need to contact them. I wanted to extend my trip when I was in Nassau Bahamas last April but I was unable to get in contact with Travel Express from outside of the United States. I also had a problem contacting the transportation company that was used to bring me to and from the airport.

Fantastic experience: Natalie Montes was very detailed, professional and she educated me on every single step of this entire process. She provided me with all her recommended destinations, made sure I was paying a fair amount for my all inclusive package, that the dates were good for our schedules and she also brought to me new ideas and her advice was key. I am very satisfied with her service, I will recommend everyone to contact her even if its just for a quote because sometimes traveling prices might be scary especially when out of the country, but I guarantee she will find something that fits your budget!

Positive experience: I have used Vacation Express twice to book vacations to Mexico and both have been successful. On the first trip, my flight from Detroit to Florida was cancelled but that was not Vacation Express' fault. The only reason they did not receive 5 stars is Vacation Express would not help us to rebook the flight.

Fantastic experience: We were a group of 10, stayed at Renaissance Marina Adults Only. We were there 5 nights 4 days. Everything was truly enjoyed by all. Hotel and employees were great, bar and food staff one could not ask for any better. Vacation Express set us up for a tour on a 12 passenger van our guide was very knowledgeable. The adult only island was a pleasure to relax on pelicans, pink flamingos and iguanas were there to see. When it came time to leave we all wanted to stay longer. James

Fantastic experience: We had a fantastic time on our 10 year anniversary trip to Riviera Maya with Vacation Express. It was my first time out of the US and they made the process so easy. We didn't have to think about anything more than what we wanted for dinner for seven days. The resort was great, excursions were incredible, and everyone we met was friendly and helpful. Great time.

Negative experience: I will never use this company again. We had a horrible experience in the Dominican Republic. Our resort was dirty, the whole property smelled awful, and VIP services we paid for were denied to us on several occasions. Even worse is the lack of response from Vacation Express in trying to resolve our issues. We spent our whole vacation trying to resolve issues that we were promised were being worked on by our travel agent and VE. We were promised compensation, and once we returned to the US have been unable to even get a response from VE despite numerous efforts by everyone that traveled with us, as well as our travel agent. Many of the things that made our vacation disappointing are because of the resort itself, but we have also been extremely disappointed in the numerous times we have been let down after being assured that people were "working on" getting our issues resolved and reimbursing us for services we were unable to use after paying for them. Have been waiting over a week for a response to a simple email that was sent after they had been contacted several times regarding our concerns. So disappointing. 8.4.19 I received a response to my review. I did not see a way to reply to that response, so am editing here. It was requested that I reach out to VE via phone. I would much rather someone that is already aware of the situation, and someone that is in a position to remedy this, reach out to us. I do not want to call, get a random customer care representative, start over and explain our whole situation, be transferred to someone else, and so on. I look forward to hearing from you tonight or tomorrow. 8.5.19 My brother in law, who traveled with us, called VE today. He spoke to Amy who refused to give her his last name and vaguely promised that things are being worked on. We have been hearing that since things starting going wrong on our vacation 3 weeks ago. Not a lot of evidence that you all are trying to take care of your customers as you said in your reply to my review. I have yet to get a reply to the email going between myself, the others who traveled with us, my travel agent, post travel, and Marta Merriman.

Negative experience: TRAVELERS BEWARE ********Dishonest immoral business ******* Well , to make a long story short I think I have figured out this company after dealing with them for 48hrs and having 6 reservations cancelled on me So here s the catch , they advertise good to decent prices for the all inclusive resorts , once you the customer go through the online process of choosing room adding airport transport etc you hit a dead end when it comes to paying for your reservation , so when you call them and give them your booking number they put you on hold for 1/or 2 minutes and tell you they will verify the booking , when the agent comes back , (and throughout my ordeal It seemed like it was always the same 2 or 3 people answering ) he or she will tell you sorry you waited too long (1 minute that is ) and your price went up by 500$ giving them the benefit of the doubt once twice even three times up to 6 times I made new bookings and called to pay and each time it was the same story no , I’m sorry I’m not stupid and y’all never seeing a dime from me again as long as I live Y’all keep in mind every single time I called them I had my credit card drawn and ready to pay within 60 seconds of obtaining a « BOOKING CONFIRMATION », I never called to make friends or ask a million questions about the weather in Costa Rica , I called to pay! So my conclusion is that these people are copy pasting other real and legit travel agencies such as Expedia Travelocity s prices and allowing customers to go through their booking process till it s time to pay and at that point they lie every time and say the price just changed , their pitch is : we have no control over airlines changing pricing, hum , yes you do ! if you are a legitimate travel agency when you book anything it s yours for few hours This company gets the consumer s money by exacerbation and confusion , and in my books that s not good business practices . Absolute trash of the web ****update*** After getting a response to my review I called the number provided and guess what??? It goes to voicemail What a disgrace

Negative experience: Vacation Express did not do a good job of helping us work through a disappointing situation when our all inclusive booking was no longer available once we arrived. Just felt like we had to be our own advocates, with little support/info from VE.

Negative experience: The resort, Sam Sara in Negril Jamaica DOES NOT look anything like the resort shown in the advertising pictures. No BEACH - ONE bar - ONE restaurant - NOTHING to do near - 2 hours away Draft n well alcohol ~ TOTALLY DISSATISFIED I WANT MY MONEY BACK ASAP

Negative experience: If I could give a zero I would. So I booked my trip far in advance to Costa Rica at the secrets resort! Fun on the horizon!! I’m happy to be done because the others in my group are just starting to book and the cost have already gone up. I’m silently patting myself on the back for booking in December and for having a much cheaper rate. Well the plot thickens... A friend ask to see my itinerary so we can fly together and notices my flight is taking me to an airport 4.5 hours away from my resort!! WTF. I’m alarmed obviously that this flight was even an option for me when booking the resort why!!! So I call upset but internally I know that I’ve purchased insurance which clearly says land and air so surely vacation express will fix it and I’ll go back to being excited about my trip. But NO there would be no happy ending to this story. Vacationexpress tells me that not only can they not change my flight but they also can’t return my money or even the voucher my insurance clearly says I have up to 24 hours before the trip to redeem. The trip is at least 8 months away! WTF again. The phone agents were kind and feeling bad for me but tell me the flight I have is non-refundable and even tho there was no alert that advised me this wasn’t a close airport or nothing that said my land air insurance actually didn’t cover this fair I’m simply screwed! What’s beyond horrible to me is had my friend not noticed my flight was far I would have arrived in another country to find I have a 4 hour drive on dirt roads. Vacationexpress has forever lost me as a customer and my party had 20 other individuals who have all said they will also will not be booking with vacationexpress for this trip or any other in the future. In addition they all plan to leave bad reviews and let all their friends know to never book with vacationexpress either because you may get screwed. So what could have been a single incident that the company could have resolved will now result in a loss of many trips since my group travels often. Moral of the story is maybe I should have paid closer attention in geography and I would have known the airport option was far or maybe I should find more upstanding organizations in the future who care about their customers!

Negative experience: We booked a trip with this Company that ended up landing on the week Hurricane Irma hit the Caribbean islands. Seeing the forecast of the hurricane a week before it hit, i begged Vacation Express to let us cancel and re-book for a safer date. They adamantly refused. Instead they said we would lose everything if we did not go on the original dates booked and said the hotels were prepared for any weather. We went to Punta Cana and upon arriving at hotel it took us 3 hours to check-in, even though there was nobody in line in front of us at reception desk. The hotel room assigned to us was unfit to stay in. The air was moldy and the toilet was leaking all over the floor. The hotel refused to change our room without a $30 per person upgrade per night. It was an all-inclusive hotel. Turns out the hotel refused to let us make reservations at any restaurant. I had to beg management for over an hour to let us get reservations 2 out of 5 dinners we were booked to be there. One of the restaurants was seafood, which I dislike, but management would not give any heed to my preferences. This was only the beginning to the list of issues we had with the hotel. There were many many more. We had to leave 2 days before to avoid the category 5 hurricane. Vacation Express provided no help, assistance, or exchange with or for our horrible experience. Rather during our stay at the hotel, the only thing they did was try to trick us into buying more things. There staff members didn't speak fluent English nor were they capable of providing any practical help. Upon arriving home, i petitioned Vacation Express to compensate us for our loses. They refused and said thanks for your patronage and offered a $50 gift certificate towards another vacation package with them. We have the worst travel experience of our life, and in return they offer to let us buy another vacation package with them. I cannot express enough- avoid this Company and their service like the plague.

Negative experience: Vacation Express should get a negative 5 review. DO NOT use them! My friends and I experienced the worst trip to the Dominican Republic in September 2017. The hotel that Vacation Express recommended (Occidental Caribe) was terrible - rude staff, terrible accommodations in two different rooms (broken doors, stained towels, broken toilets, nasty disgusting showers). When we called Vacation Express for help, their "supervisor" was rude, condescending, and disrespectful. The representative on site lied to us. Vacation Express wanted us to pay additional money to go to a new hotel and said that we most likely would be penalized for leaving Occidental Caribe early. However, the representative on site never mentioned that to us until we had spent half a day looking for a new hotel, and then lied and said she told us that. So we would be paying double for one hotel stay. Vacation Express said that’s their policy – so beware. The “Post Travel” Dept is not helpful and Vacation Express refuses to take any responsibility or acknowledge the poor treatment we received from the reps. Look for another travel agency, unless you want to flush your money down the toilet and enjoy a ruined vacation.

Negative experience: Horrible horrible vacation with 6 hour delay by airline ran by Vacation Express. Hotel was horrible. Dirty!! Food horrible. Excursion booked through Vacation Express was horrible. Boat broke down. Explained everything and nothing done to rectify.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I just worked with Rene at Vacation Express to handle some last-minute travel complications that arose yesterday for our honeymoon. Rene was able to rebook our entire trip with no cost to us and we aren't losing a day or a dime. He was extremely helpful and kept me up-to-date through the whole process. We're going to still be able to go on our honeymoon because of his hard work. Couldn't be happier.

Fantastic experience: We had a amazing time! We read reviews and were a little bit scare. But since I booked our trip the Customer Service was super, got to the airport and the service also was good. We also booked the transportation with Vacation Express, got to the aiport and they were waiting for us. They gave us good information on our way to the resort. Resort was amazing! Good service and the staff is very friendly. We bought an excursion also and we had a great time. I will recommend to buy excursions at the resorts. I bought before thru the place website and when I asked I will have safe 35 per person. So, always check with your resort agent! Thanks!

Positive experience: I love Vacation Express!This is my 4th year using them. I have always used them when it came to booking my trips. I take a trip every summer to a different location and I have enjoyed each location. I love how everything is bundle into 1 and you are able to make payments on your trips. They have always had my information E-mailed to me on time and when reaching my location everything was just a smooth transition from the airport to the hotel and back. I would recommend anyone to use because of those qualities.

Negative experience: Extra Charges for Airline tickets on a chartered plane with a zero balance? I just received an interesting call from Vacation Express. They would like to charge me another $166 per person X4 for a chartered flight from Detroit to Punta Cana. We are very avid travelers and bloggers hitting 8 different countries last year alone, with 2 more countries this year already. We always look for great deals and this was one we found on Groupon through Vacation Express. We received the Total Due: $0.00 invoice yesterday for the Punta Cana trip at the end of March. The Vacation Express Rep called me today and told me about the increase and I am considering canceling the trip. The Rep is great and he is trying to take care of the problem but I don’t like having a zero balance then a call for more money on a flight that is already chartered. This is our first trip with Vacation Express and I hope this issue can be resolved soon. Well I received the answer today. They would rather lose 4k sale than take care of the price that was agreed upon. They are saying I will get a full refund so that is a plus. I'm not too sure if I will use them in the future but it is not looking good. So buyer beware of the "Additional fees may apply for some departure dates". You might think you booked a great trip till they call you back and want more $$$$$.

Negative experience: Very lucrative business ethics. I had an issue with a package I booked and posted a review about the situation and a few weeks later I was contacted regarding my poor experience and was offered a $100 credit for a second try with Vacation Express. So once more I gave them a try and was told my package would be credited$100 for my previous troubles. I find out after I land in Mexico that the way I was "credited" for my troubles was actually Vacation Express eliminating the transportation cost from the airport to the hotel and back from my package to make it look like I got a credit. When I returned I tried contacting the team that set up my vacation through calls and emails and I have yet to hear from them and its been about 6 months now. Just want people to be aware of some of the practices that take place here.

Negative experience: I took a trip to the riu in Ocho Rio using this company and had a horrible experience. They will not respond to my travel agent about my refund for my trip as I was forced to leave due to the nastiness of the hotel. They have pictures of the hotels conditions and still won't respond. STAY AWAY IF YOU VALUE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND YOUR MONEY!!

Negative experience: Very poor service, if you are traveling with them, they will take your booking very well once you fly with there airline, you will be hook on service, then they will not response to you because they got there money. Swift air lost our begs white vacationing to Punta Cana, we email them, they directed us to contact swift airline and problem start, we had 7 days vacation, they located our bags after 4 days. even they have service twice a day in punta cana, they can not deliver our bag or they did not refund any bag charge or inconvenience charge.

Negative experience: I called to get more information and book a travel deal that was on their website. I could not find the deal on the website anymore ( 6 hours later) and the gentlemen over the phone didn't even try to help me. Poor customer service.
