Negative experience: I had booked a flight and car for myself and my family only to realize that the departing location was wrong so I called customer service and spoke with a live agent named Abbey he had assured me that he could cancel my previous reservations and book new ones for me and I will receive a refund for the previous reservations however I noticed the refund did not hit my account so I proceeded to call Expedia back only for them to tell me that I needed to contact frontier and I was confused because I booked through Expedia. When I called frontier they told me that I needed to call Expdia because the booking was through them so I was back and forth between both parties and realized that this was not going anywhere so I reached out to my bank to see if they can help me so now they are involved and I am waiting for a resolution. I would never use Expedia again nor would I recommend them to anyone.

Negative experience: Worst customer service. They don't care once you book. You have no rights and forget about getting any help from them. They leave you hanging in the middle and offer no support. The only thing they say is it's the airline fault. But if we booked with you, why we can't get any support. I spent almost 4k for an international flight, and they left my family stranded in New York because the rest of the flight was canceled, and I had to find a way to get them back home to Phoenix. Would not recommend should pay a little xtra and go thru the airline directly. At least you will have some peace of mind

Negative experience: My wife and I booked a fully refundable trip to Bermuda on Christmas 2024. We have now had to make the tough decision to cancel our trip due to a new home purchase. Today we found out from Expedia that we will not be getting our refund of $1300 for our flights and will be given an airline credit that must be used by Christmas 2025. After explaining to multiple customer service agents that we will not be able to plan any travel before the end of year AND we chose the fully refundable option when booking, we’ve been told that this is our loss. The lingo they put in their contracts is very deceptive and meant to steal your money. Do NOT book with them and go for the fully refundable option as it’s not full refundable. Their own agents even agreed that the system is misleading. Horrible experience. 0/10. Do not recommend.

Fantastic experience: We book a lot of our travel through Expedia and we mostly have had great experiences. Although recently we ran into an issue with a hotel that had nothing to do with Expedia, but they were on it. Representative Oscar and supervisor, Marlon M. were amazing! Even though the hotel was being extremely difficult, Expedia’s customer service was excellent and resolved the issue quickly.

Negative experience: I got a ticket booked on Avianca airlines through expedia. When I could not make it to trip, tried to get either refund or credit. Need to go back and forth multiple times between Expedia/Avaianca to even pull the ticket details, more so finally when avianca confirmed that as per the terms, refund of taxes is eligible, where as Expedia representative confirmed otherwise. When asked to provide the the condition under which is not eligible, got a simple email stating it is not eligible.

Negative experience: THE WORST COMPANY EVER! We used them to book a hotel. On the way to our destination we called Expedia to see if it was possible to book a closer hotel to where we were going. The man on the phone with zero patience or tolerance said it should not be a problem. i let him know we paid the 15.00 in case we had to cancel. He assured me that as long as we paid that fee , we wont have a problem and he continued to push through the conversation so he can book us again for the next hotel. I interrupted him ( which annoyed him) to ask again, Sir are you sure we wont get charged twice. He said he was going to go into the reservation and get us the refund. Again , I said Sir.. I cannot pay for 2 hotels and again he reassured me that would not happen. Low and behold, the next day I get an email stating i was out of time to cancel and now I am responsible for the 2 fees. I called the customer service to see if we can resolve this and they continuously put me on hold and came back to the phone to say, Im sorry the time was exceeded and there is nothing I can do. Keep in mind they put me on hold a number of lengthy times, and then said there is nothing that can be done. I lost the 496.00 for the first reservation and paid over 600.00 for the second one. Absolutely no compassion for their mistake and basically had no intention on helping me. The first hotel had me as checking in and no body ever entered the hotel. very disappointed and now broke..

Negative experience: I hate Expedia. Will never ever use them and havent used them since 2019 when we flew to Brzail and an entire airline had been bankrupt and non existent for a month come to find out the day of our flight. No notifications , had to spend over $1,000 for my wife and I to get home as didnmy brother and his wife because every connecting flight got messed up. They offered us $200. The worst. And couldnt even spell my name right either. Just another POS company making money off of us buying up and re selling it to us

Negative experience: Terrible experience! Horrible service I don’t recommend them to anyone. I booked the non refundable hotel by mistake and I call immediately and ask them to stop my transaction and stop the booking. They tell me no worry! Next day they charge the money and refused to refund my hotel booking $600. I called them again, they blame the hotel refused to give me the refund. Then I contact the hotel, they said they need authorization from Expedia. Then I send Expedia email and call them they said the authorization is the hotel . Terrible, waste my time without any result. It is worse experience!

Negative experience: I had to cancel a trip very recently and then submitted paperwork to the travel plan (Generalis Global Travel Insurance) that Expedia promotes/uses on their website. Now I as a customer of Expedia was not aware of that this travel insurance plan would have been so difficult to deal with. So for the last two months Generalis has been very poor with communication, efficiency and honesty. Clearly they do not want to pay. I have doctors letters and submitted everything needed and still they state excuse after excuse and lie. Please be cautious of the type of insurance plans these websites are promoting. I learned my lesson the hard way.

Negative experience: In all my travel experiences, dealing with Expedia has been the worst. I recently took my family to the Dominican Republic for a family vacation to celebrate my wife and daughter's birthday. When we checked in, we found the room was utterly unsanitary and, to be honest, disgusting. I thought it okay go to the counter and get another room. I did check on it and found the other room had mold and needed the air conditioner vents painted over. My wife began calling Expedia, and she spent the more significant part of 9 hours calling them as they kept disconnecting and hanging up on us. I went to guest services, and they informed us they would support us in checking out and finding another hotel. So we checked out the following day. Expedia was told by the hotel manager they would release us and refund us back to Expedia, but Expedia refused to take the measures for the corrections. My wife was in tears as this ruined her birthday. We have reached out several times to get reimbursed because we had to dish out out-of-pocket expenses for a new hotel costing over another $2k. I am distraught, and I will continue to post these photos on all the travel sites until this is resolved. I have also reported them to the BBB for their lack of trying to help us. Would you sleep in a bed with blood on the sheets and mold on the wall? This hurts

Negative experience: I just paid more for my luggage to be checked than I did for my flights. I was so embarrassed and caught off guard by the lack of information given by Expedia about my flight purchase not including one checked bag. $259.76 was the ROUND trip cost of my flights. The cost of my one suitcase to be checked was 1380 AED = 375.80 USD I will not be booking flights through Expedia again. Please check fine print and look at the airlines not the information from Expedia.

Positive experience: UPD We were just reimbursed by Expedia. We finally got to talk to an employee who could actually help. Even though they made that mistake, it’s great they admitted it and fixed the issue. My husband had a flight booked in advance with Expedia for $900. He called their customer service to see if he could change 1 leg of the flight and see how much it was gonna be. The woman in the phone just canceled the whole flight that was due in 5 days! We asked for supervisor and he kept us on the phone for hours and did nothing eventually. We ended up purchasing the new flight with airline company for $2880 as it was 4 days left and the prices were already crazy!

Negative experience: Expedia was one of my favorite travel agency couple of years ago. We travel a lot my husband or me we always used to book hotels flight etc. We just come back yesterday from a trip with friends I explained them our new experience for the future we forget Expedia , be aware if you would like to book with them. My husband purchased 4 ticket to Hawaii over $3000 for the family. After he got update tickets changed. We don’t do big deal because the trip is on august. But last week he received the email our returning flight it’s not going anymore. There was 2 option change the ticket or return the money. So I called up the costumer service they said there is a flight but it’s not a same day, but we had all reservations for car house everything, but not everything able to change now. So I told them can’t change the ticket for next month because September kids going back to school , other months not the best to visiting Hawaii just put the money back to the account . The lady said they only give back the money for the returning flight because the other one didn’t chanced ! There is the flight policy after 30 days they don’t give the money back. I told her not I’m the one, who made this changes ,that’s not my responsibility. I asked to speak with her manager waiting an hour to find somebody after a man explained they will give back the money for the returning flight and for the arriving one he will give credit . I told him let me explain to my family so I asked the call back . He said the same time will be good tomorrow 8-9pm ? Before we hung up the phone manager was so rude he said don’t call us and wait again an hour . So next day of course nobody called us but my husband received the email how was the experience with Expedia let them know. I filled up and sent back . Then we went to sleep then after midnight between 1am my phone was kept ringing and ringing … till we pick up . Not the manager the lady was on the phone said Brigitta ? I told her do you know what time is it ? She said you requested the call back! I know she called me from India and time is not the same there as here but make this mistakes? Not with us again! Of course no money back ,no changes with tickets they just let hung on this case! I did some research and read reviews they went down for 1 star not surprised . If I’m able will give them minus . If they keep this work with the costumers who trusted them, this company will be closed soon ! If you are the first time user don’t book anything with them go to the flight company straight and book with them . You will not safe lose lots of money with Expedia. Never again.

Negative experience: Long story short as to not bore you all. Booked a trip to Hawaii “Direct Flight” from NJ. Paid top dollar and paid the insurance and all. After booking we get notified the flight was changed to a lay over which we noticed was $1,400 cheaper. Airlines nor Expedia would refund the money they claimed it isn’t such an inconvenience only 3 hour difference so they won’t refund us. We had insurance so we canceled and went to rebook same flights with the lay over and save the $1,400. Expedia REFUSED to return the $300 for insurance saying they did their best to accommodate us on another flight within 3 hours of our original Direct Flight. NEVER BOOK THRU EXPEDIA.

Negative experience: Expedia is simply a criminal enterprise. I will NEVER even open a site from them again. I booked a single night for $290. My credita card was charged $1,008.30, 3 months ago. I cancelled the reservation a month in advance and filed a complaint with my credit card company, yet 18 hours of aggrevation and 3 months later, they continue to refuse to credit the account, despite making the excuse that they "accidentally charged me the amount in Israeli Shekel". I now have to file multiple complaints with the regulatory agencies. While you're at it, do NOT ever use a Barclays credit card. They are witholding the funds for 45 days while they "complete the investigation", so I am now having to cut my trip short, as I am in the Middle East, and miss the Conference I came to attend!

She clearly stated that I was purchasing a cancellable / refundable flight, but she booked the option without cancellation. Expedia is claiming that I cannot get a refund now. Negative experience: Never ever book your tickets on Expedia Pathetic service ever I wish there was an option to give 0 stars I booked an air india ticket from expedia for Ny to Pune. I just wanted to inquire (just inquiry) about the additional charges to reschedule. #expedia agent went ahead and cancelled my booking without my knowledge; once agent realized his mistake they just tried to remove the cancellation. However this wasn’t in line with air India policies & I kept getting cancellation email. Several calls with hours on wait & multiple chat later expedia escalated to supervisor who admitted the mistake. Instead of immediate resolution they escalted case for some management approval. I am less than a week away from travel date & have not received any call from team. Every time I call I have to spend hours & explain all over to just arrange callback which I never get. This is worst service ever.

Negative experience: Expedia would not refund my money after a 20 minute reservation. I went to the hotel and discovered it was despicable and not a place to bring kids in. The front desk clerk was great and understood the type of hotel it was and issued the refund to expedia right then and there. I was on hold with expedia for over 2 hours and was told to request a refund via email. Ok, fine. Did that.... three weeks later. No refund and they "could not reach the hotel". Its the clerks job to answer the phone but you couldn't reach them. Ok, fine. But they can see that she canceled the reservation within 20 minutes of making it. Soooooo sickening. This is post covid customer service.

After being on a call for 2 plus hours, the agent dropped the call with no call back. Negative experience: Hello Google. This is my last resort to get Expedia to fix my problem. I tried to cancel a flight bought with a cancellation protection policy via Expedia's Virtual Agent, but the Expedia Agent cancelled my cancellation protection, NOT my flight. I tried calling and they gave me the runaround between them and Travelguard. The Expedia rep told me that I needed to call the travel insurance company and file a claim; Expedia couldn't cancel my flight since I now no longer had cancelation protection. I then called Travelguard to dispute the cancelation of the cancelation protection policy, so that I could cancel my flight. The Travelguard rep said that Expedia canceled my cancelation protection policy so I don't have a claim... they also rejected my suggestion to reinstate my cancelation protection policy because they now knew that I was trying to cancel my flight. The reason I had a protection policy is due to COVID; I never know if quarantine or isolation will come up at the last minute - Why the heck would I cancel a cancelation protection policy when I specifically told the Expedia Virtual Agent to CANCEL MY FLIGHT?! This is an outrage. I just need the flight cancelled so I can rebook it, but they (either Expedia or Travelguard) are not helping resolve the issue at all. They just refer me back to the other in an endless goat-rope do-loop. Their customer services are of no use.

Negative experience: I try to refund my ticket since June, 10th. I spoke for hours with more then 10 representatives, had a chat with 3 agents - nobody can help me. They all transfer my call to their supervisor, and the call disconnects. That is it. I think it was my last time booking tickets with Expedia, although I was very satisfied with this site.

Negative experience: I make a reservation for two cabinets on Royal Caribbean cruise , when I did the check in , the put all 4 in one cabinet, this company lie to customers, I don’t recommend this company

Negative experience: Reserved a car in Dominican Republic through Expedia. It was just under $200 for two weeks. Other sites had cars in the mid-200 range, so I went with Expedia. I called to make sure there were no hidden fees - Gabby (whom I recorded), told me the $191 would be the total for the car for the entire time. So. When we got off the plane and found Economy, or Ameri-Rent, we were told at the counter it would be an additional $17 per day. As I'm a lawyer, I knew how to sign the contract without really signing. Turns out they charged my c.c. $438 which is more than $200 over the $27 per day they were trying to charge. I called Expedia and they basically said, tough luck. I will sue them in Small Claims for the amount and the time and any costs I incur suing them. Anyone who'd like to get in on a class action, reply to this comment. Let's get this horrific company. Expedia doesn't deserve anyone's patronage.

Negative experience: I book an hotel with free cancellation but they are not able to remove one night on it! I also should be able to cancel a flight for 24 hours after booking but thats only on the same date! That’s not 24 hours if you booked at 8pm. That’s not a trustable company!!! Try another one!

Negative experience: I booked a full package of flight and hotel for my wife and myself and another couple, from NY to Dominican Republic and back. When weather cancelled my flight, Expedia did nothing to rebook me with another airline and said that I had to go with the original airline, JetBlue who had no flights until 3 days later. They also said that I was responsible for the hotel as well since I did not cancel previously. I asked what can you do to help me and really nothing was offered. I was able, on my own, to book another flight for more money on another airline and got out a day early. Expedia was supposed to credit me back for my original cancelled tickets but keep my reservation for the return flight in effect. Expedia did not process the credit and I had to call the airline directly to get it sent. Also, they did cancel my return flight reservations even though I told them not to and that I was keeping the hotel reservations as well. When I went to check in to the return flight, I found that Expedia had canceled my and my wife's reservation but not the other couple's reservation which makes no sense. Luckily the airline was able to fit me on the plane in the last row. I would never use expedia again.

Negative experience: On a recent trip to The AmericInn in CT... I was informed that the price of my room would of been $99 is booked directly through them...But since I booked through Expedia, I was charged $199 for my room....Best if you call your hotel directly....Chances are you will get a better price....Very disappointed in Expedia. I feel I was totally taken advantage of by Expedia......

Negative experience: This organization support fake offers by airline booking companies like VIA. They do not bother to reply to address the issue even on fraud by their agents. They will leave it to their fraudulent agents to do as they please with the customers Do not ever ever book via expedia.

Negative experience: Do Not book through Expedia when renting a car. You will not save money because of all sorts of additional hidden fees. I strongly recommend booking directly through a nationally recognized reputable company.

Negative experience: Absolutely atrocious customer service- have been on the line waiting to talk to a real person to change some flights and it has been over 1 hour. Their robot said 8-12 minutes. Will. Never. Use. Expedia. Again. Oh and one other pointer to the geniuses at this company- please dont make me sign in with a password to see an itinerary sent in a confirmation email. It is just a burden on me and a waste of time. Horrendous.

Negative experience: Absolutely horrible customer service. Their website shows bad information and they refuse to refund our money regardless of the error. I will never use expedia and will make sure none of my employees or associates book through them. Completely unacceptible.

Negative experience: Horrible experience. I've been using Expedia so many years because they seem to have the best rate prices for flights and hotels but the costumer service is the worst i've ever seen. Last time it was actually better (and way cheaper) to book directly with the hotel and airplane company. It is just not worth it at all.

Negative experience: Ridiculous service. Had a simple date change that somehow became me being charged twice. After many days trying to get this taken care of and somehow have not success with anyone even acknowledging the double charge. I gave up. Just not worth the time. You DO NOT save money by booking through a service. It's purely convenience. And well, they're not convenient.

Negative experience: I wish I could give 0 stars. Do yourself the favor and DON'T BOOK WITH EXPEDIA. Long story short, they do not confirm and update their website, so when I went to the hotel, the front desk said they had no rooms and Expedia should have updated their website. They did not want to refund or reimburse me and my parents were basically stranded until 12 AM when they finally found a hotel room 30 blocks away. It was the worst day ever and they dont care about how horrible they treated us. DONT BOOK WITH THEM

Negative experience: Worst customer service ever!!!! Very disappointed. I was asking about booking fee and cancelation. I was trying to explain what my problem was but representative was keep talking at the same time. Not even tried to listen what I am trying to say. She did not answer my question in appropriate manner. I will never ever use Expedia again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Negative experience: DISASTER. Booked with Expedia on May 20th and it was a breeze. THEN the airline cancelled my flight and I had to wait on hold with Expedia for 90 minutes only to be disconnected by one of their "specialists". My next call was a two hour wait hold for a specialist so they could offer me another flight for an extra $125.00 a ticket. I simply cancelled and, as I write this review on July 27th, I still have not been processed a refund. Customer service on on a different continent and they completely treated me like garbage. I am on hold with them now so I have plenty of time to write this. Wish me luck!

Negative experience: I recently had a major service issue with Expedia which I was very surprised to encounter considering the reputation of the leadership. Service issue: I called Expedia on March 9th to cancel a trip to Puerto Rico. which was 9 days off. I waited 1 hour to get through to speak with a service rep. who then put me on hold for an hour to get a hold of a supervisor, who then took an hour to cancel my trip for my 2 hotel rooms and flight. Service person said they could not reimburse for flight but could cancel the rooms. I asked that Expedia cancel the complete trip. Supervisor confirmed the flight and the two hotel rooms were canceled and that I would receive a refund for the two hotel rooms.I asked that they retrieve the service voice recording to show that the Sale Rep stated no less than three times that the trip could be cancelled in its entirety with 7 days notice. and to have this escalate to an officer of the company to call me back. They stated they would have someone get back to me immediately and the recording would take 5-10 days to pull and they would follow-up with me. They did nether. Now things go further downhill I get my AMX bill and the service person only cancelled one of the rooms on March 9th. I am now considered a no show at the hotel. It gets worse. They never canceled the flight and now Jet Blue considers me a no show. In the service notes read by the service rep is documented to cancel the whole reservation. How did the service supervisor only cancel part of the trip? I then called and spoke to corporate service who actually said I did not show up for the Hotel and Flight and I am responsible - of course I did not show up because I cancelled the trip. He then ask me to stay on the phone to call the airline and hotel to ask on my behalf if they will reimburse me. Have you ever heard of another company calling one of their vendors to ask for them to reimburse the costumer for their mistake and blame the costumer for their issue. I went through the same absurd discussion with the corporate service department with similar wait times. So far the following the following people have not followed up multiple times to close the service issue w: service, corporate service and SVP of Service
