Negative experience: Awful. Do not book travel with them. Our travel agent, Liza Gen..., was wholly unequipped to handle simple tasks. Attention to detail was lacking. It may seem trivial, but we traveled with part of our names fully capitalized and some not capitalized, so thankfully that did not impact international travel. The system does not accommodate "Ms."--only "Mrs." and "Miss"--like what century are we in. While Elizabeth Cha... offered to pitch in, she never responded to emails or a phone call. We received four requests for Docusign after receiving three confirmations our documents were submitted/received. Frustration mounts. Communication here is really bad, basically, so if you want to be ignored and confused, go with AAA Mid-Atlantic/Richmond. (Which is also weird because they're in Richmond, VA, but there's no Google location for that office.) One or two little things are not a huge deal, but when you add it all up and receive partial to no communication from the people handling sensitive personal information, it negatively impacts trust and made us question if we'd encounter issues while traveling. It is bizarre how shoddy the AAA Travel planning experience was, since travel is what they do.

Positive experience: Called the hotline to make an appointment for Identogo and Alyssa said it was for 1 PM at this location. Arrived a few minutes before 1 pm and both ladies said they close from 1-2 PM and maybe the lady was giving me the time in another time zone which I thought was a bit peculiar. Came back at 2 and they took another person first which I was confused because they said 2 pm and that each person had 20 minutes.. we got called back maybe 2:30 ish and was out of there by 3. Nick was nice enough when he was going through the steps. To anyone making an appointment at this location, please make sure you bring your patience and a positive attitude.

Negative experience: I got a flat tire on Sunday morning at 5:00 a.m. and the treatment I received from AAA was absolutely disgraceful! After 45 minutes on the phone and speaking with four different representatives I was finally told by representative at the Wilmington location... That their drivers don't come in this early and that I would need to wait two to three hours to have a tow truck pick me up off the side of the road. They further went on to tell me that I should just leave the key to my brand new car under the floor mat and take an Uber home and someone would pick it up when they could. I've been with AAA for more than 15 years, and their motto is customer service, but today was a great big giant fail in every way. On a Sunday when volume is low that should mean that you should be able to provide better service not worse. And the fact that you charge me premium rates and then don't provide premium services, is absolutely unacceptable. I'm very disappointed in AAA and I would not recommend them to anyone moving forward because they clearly have slipped in their levels of service over the years. I just came back to re-edit this review going back and reading some of the other reviews this location is stacking up one star reviews like they're going out of style. AAA Mid-Atlantic should investigate this location for their poor service! I'm looking to file a corporate complaint with AAA based on my experience and the large number of one star reviews something needs to be done about this.

Negative experience: I have been a AAA member for six years. My first issue occurred four years back with our classic GTO. We were told that a tow truck would come pick us up within an hour. It did not show up and we were told it would be within six hours and by that point it would have been 2AM on the side of the road. I figured this was just an unfortunate situation. We had a private tow truck pick up the car. Now, two weeks ago a similar situation happened. My car was broken down. I was told it would be a one hour wait. Later, I was told four hours; after that I was told to reach out to the tow truck coming from Baltimore (I am located outside of Philadelphia). AAA had me reach out to the driver and AAA later told me that they had picked up the car and in the morning when I went outside, the car was still there From the initial point of contact to AAA to when the car was picked up. It was a 25 hour wait. Upon asking for a credit, they applied it to a renewal for the membership, Even though the impression was that it would be a credit to my bank account. They have elected to not reimburse me. In short, do not use this AAA. The service is not delivered as expected, they are not polite and you will not get your money back hence the poor reviews. Save yourself the time, frustration and money and use a private tow company.

Negative experience: Took payment out 2 months early without my concent n won't return it I keep getting the run around n they tell me something different every time I call it's been 16 days since they took the payment

Negative experience: I have been a AAA member for 30 years. For at least half that time I never used the benefits I've paid for yearly. I was locked out my home 1/11/25, and called AAA to assist with unlocking my door. I was told that I would have to upgrade my coverage and wait 7 days for that benefit to kick in. I told the representative how is that going to solve my current situation. I asked the AAA representative can you please make a one time exception, I've been a customer for 30 years. Sorry, there's no exception I was told but you can purchase an upgraded membership that will open your door and I can get them to open your door today for $134. I was appalled after dealing with this company loyally for 30, they couldn't waive this upgrade fee, after all the money I have given them for 30 years, no to mention having multiple policies for home and auto. AAA has truly demonstrated they were all about getting money from me and nothing else. AAA truly showed they could care less that i have been a loyal customer for 30 years and would not help me when I really needed them. I had to get someone else to unlock my door for way less what AAA was trying to demand from a 30 year customer. Yes, it's time to look for another company to give my money to. I'm truly disgusted, and disappointed of the treatment I received.

Negative experience: My agent took several weeks to respond to email and phone numbers provided, sometimes not responding at all, to the point where they only got back to me the week my policy was set to renew. For any questions/ changes, they referred me to a corporate line. Highly do not recommend. Worst insurance experience I’ve had.

Negative experience: I purchased AAA Premium RV insurance through Delaware as I was told it was not available in South Jersey so when I called AAA In Delaware I specifically asked would I be covered in south Jersey I was assured I would be covered in all 50 states I had automatic renewal for 4 years then I got a flat and gave them a call only to hear they wouldn’t come to South Jersey for an RV they did provide 4 numbers for me to call and hire my own help I called all 4 none of them would come either. So there I was left on side the road in 100 degree heat to fend for myself after paying almost $800 for roadside assistance that refused to come out. I’ve filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau only to be offered a refund of any fees I paid to get up and running. Well I didn’t have any fees since I couldn’t get anyone to come out and had to do my own roadside assistance. AAA IS A COMPLETE FRAUD and do not provide roadside assistance they sell. I have asked multiple times for a refund since they sold me an insurance they don’t provide. And have gotten nowhere on my requests. Do not buy from AAA unless you are ok with paying for nothing. Because that is what they are selling no roadside assistance when you need it.

Fantastic experience: I locked myself out of my car at a gas station on Fouke Road and silver side. It was a borrowed car. My phone was in the car locked I did not know the key entry code. Sonny came to my rescue and unlocked my car. He was very friendly. I am applauding him for such great service. Thank you, Sonny!

Negative experience: Worthless at times. I pay for the premier service buy theirs nothing premier about it. I called for a tow after all my antifreeze leaked out and was given a 4 hour window why they wait for tow companies to bid on the tow. I was told I could not leave my house until they got there and I had to be the one to give them the key and that my spouse could not give them the key and if my spouse did they would have to be the one to call and request service although they are on my plan and I had to be to work. It was just a big waist and I decided to add roadside assistance to my insurance plan for future tows just incase this madness continues. I would recommend just having roadside assistance through your insurance than through aaa. Worst money ever spent on their poor customer service

Negative experience: I needed a jump in January and they told me no one was available for5 hours. They told me to get a 3rd party service to jump the car and they would reimburse me. I summitted the payment reimbursement claim and a month later a check arrived for the full amount. I deposited the check in the bank and the check bounced. I called them back and all they said is they would investigate.

Negative experience: Wish they had a 0 star option. When I worked for AAA we actually provided service. Can someone explain to me why I have been waiting for a simple tow since 7pm YESTERDAY and I have had to call at least 7 times now in order to get nothing. All I want is the tow service I am entitled to with my membership. AAA has absolutely 0 value anymore. They cant even provide their core services anymore
Fantastic experience: Went there because it was a designated IDENToGo to get digital fingerprints. The staff was very friendly, knowledgable and just plain HELPFUL. IDENToGo is a fairly new way to verify identity to get a copy of ones criminal records. That facility at the AAA location at the Riverfront is (THE) place to go.

Negative experience: My sons car broke down, caught fire and we waited for a 2 am pick up. It was a scary experience for him and I. We waited 2 hrs to get a tow truck..The driver called me a few times to try figure out where we were on the interstate. He was rude while I spoke with him on the phone and hung up on me. You at their mercy waiting for them to get your car. Unknowing that they contract out drivers....An unmarked vehicle came to our vehicle. I asked him if was he a triple A driver. He never identified himself as a driver. He inspected the car and I guess decided he didn't want to be bothered. He left us and we couldn't get another driver until 5 am in the morning. I am so angry. This was the worst experience I have ever had with AAA. I have had AAA for over 25 years. I wish customer service had let me know that they used outside contractors and what to expect at pick up. I was trying to protect myself and my son from an unknown tow truck company. It was frightening at 2 am in the morning in Wilmington on interstate I95 not knowing who this person was. I called his phone to be sure he was the driver that called me.. he never answered the phone. When I called the dispatcher she sounded like she just woke up and I disturbed her slumber. She called the driver back and said he couldn't come back to us.. If I knew of a better tow company I would not renew. This was awful. Thanks for nothing AAA. I hope later this morning we can get our car towed.

Negative experience: This company is the worst. They can't tell me why I can't keep the same level membership and when I want to cancel because they can't explain to me why I have to stay at the lowest level I can't get a refund for a membership that I won't use. The lowest level is of no use to me and they are saying I can't get my money back for a membership that has not even renewed yet. I used to recommend this company to everyone I got my family in and friends and defended them when people would say anything bad about it. I guess something had to happen to me in order for me to see their true colors. Why must I pay for something that is of no use to me. I do not recommend this unless you want to stay stuck like an unwanted time share.

Fantastic experience: Identigo inside AAA was great! Got to my appointment 40 minutes early was taken straight back. I drove from NJ and had to use the ladies room upon arrival. The receptionist had to walk me to the restroom and wait for me outside, which was a little weird. But I guess that's why the location is so clean and nice. I would highly recommend getting your finger prints done here.

Negative experience: Called the Wilmington AAA office twice today, this morning and again this afternoon to request a trip ticket. Both calls were transferred to Maryland. I was told I should go in person to the Wilmington AAA office because the AAA representative couldn't produce the trip ticket and no one answers the phone in the Wilmington office.

Negative experience: I would actually give no stars. I would advise no one to ever have AAA service because they clearly do not care about the mental well-being of their customers or potential customers. This company has consistently for the last three years sent advertising mail for my deceased mother, I have called numerous times and sent email to have these mailers STOPPED with no response or change. They keep sending them I got another one again today.

Negative experience: I have been an Excellent customer until my atm card got stolen. No one from AAA office ever called me to notify me that I needed to enter my new card. So when I realized that, I called and gave them the new card then I get a large bill and I can no longer do monthly! I am now a Former customer.

Negative experience: I have been a AAA member since 2017, included in my membership is towing service. On 4/11/22 I contacted AAA several times for a tow and/or a spare tire change during a break down in Virginia. Between 4:30am when I initially called and 11:00am when I gave up and paid a tow company to come, aaa gave many false promises that someone was coming and that this matter was being handled. Two of the representatives I spoke to were unhelpful and rude. The supervisor I spoke to assured me he’d make sure someone was coming. I had three minor children in the car and was stuck on interstate 95, aaa did not care or try to help for the entire six and a half hours. I then had to contact aaa for reimbursement for the tow, since they failed to upkeep their agreement per my membership. I requested $210, $190 for the tow and $20 for the spare tire to be placed on, both of which aaa would’ve done had they shown up. In an effort to further show they don’t care for their customers, they sent me a check for $190, shorting me the $20. I just renewed my membership and my father in laws membership, we renew together every year, and my mother who was in the car as well just renewed her membership. All three of us will not be renewing after this year is up. I hope the $20 that aaa stole is worth losing 3 yearly members. I will be contacting the better business bureau about this disgusting display of “customer service.”

Negative experience: Ordered an amazon package to the locker here. Was delivered at 4:59 when the building closed at 5. I was not able to pick up the package when I came at 5:30. Why was the locker not in an area where people can get to it? What’s the purpose of the locker when the person who ordered the package can’t get to it? Just dumb. I’m an AAA member, too. Might cancel my membership over this. Why bar people from getting their mail?

He was SO helpful with my errant intl. drivers license app. He found it, kept me updated and it's en route to me now. I truly wish there were more people like him!! Fantastic experience: Mr. Tim Mayes was the gentleman who helped with my dads car. My dad passed away and I was trying to drive it at least once a week, but forgot to and of course the battery died. Mr. Mayes took the time to explain to me the importance of not just starting the car, but to drive it for awhile. He was so professional, courtesy and good natured. All the attributes I would want my own son to have. Hang on to him. Give him a raise. Bravo!!

Fantastic experience: I have been with AAA since 201 and have received great service. The receptionist when I called in the other day was very professional, understood my needs and as a result of being a long-standing patronage was able to offered me a discount that I wasn't even aware of. She reviewed the different roadside packages that were adequate of my needs and also offer other roadside assistance programs. Her personality and salesmanship techniques were impeccable. It's people like her that shine for businesses and are great asset. I would definitely recommend and have recommended family members and others to acquire AAA services

Negative experience: Called AAA when my wife needed a jump but that didn't help so we had it towed to the local AAA shop. that shop said the entire wiring harness had to be replaced for about 1k parts and labor and fees. I didn't believe it so I had it towed to another shop further away that we trusted more who found out that when AAA jumped the car they blew a fuse and that is all that had to be replaced. the fuse was proprietary but only cost $35. when I complained to AAA they offered to reimburse me for all but the most costly portion, the tow to the shop that was further away. the AAA legal rep said that as long as the first shop is capable of fixing the problem then they won't pay for a second tow. with this logic, if all you need is a timing belt and the shop quotes you the cost for an entire new engine, they won't pay for the cost to tow it to a different shop. pure insanity. never getting a AAA membership again.

Negative experience: Do not purchase Disney tickets from this AAA. Long story short, they admitted to having a bad batch of Kids Disney tickets they neglected to get rid off. They sold me voided tickets. They offered me a refund because they were aware of the issue. They said we just need you to bring the credit card you paid with and the tickets. Brought them in to get my refund and then the run around began. Now they need to do research. Got a call a few days later and was told that I need to call Disney to resolve the issue, as if I bought the tickets from Disney. Called the AAA call center to complain about the branch and issue still no response or resolve in over a month! Terrible service.

Negative experience: HORRIBLE COMPANY, HORRIBLE PLACE . You should avoid this dishonest company if you can. This company deserves zero stars but they don't have that option. Horrible customer service and their employees are rude, arrogant, unhelpful lowlife jerks. Negative experience: Wish I could have been notified that my AAA was no longer allowed to be used , after my family and I got stranded n they towed my car n asked a few hours later to get it towed to a shop I was told I used up my privileges and my family and I had to walk from downtown Wilmington to Kirkwood hwy ... My 5 year old daughter has special needs and I am disabled so I'm not happy whatsoever with AAA

Negative experience: I went to use a gift card purchased during a "No-Fee" event about 2 years ago and found out the value has evaporated. I bought several cards at that time and have given them as gifts over time - now I don't know if I gave people empty gift cards. Customer Service couldn't help in any way. Infuriated, I called to cancel my AAA membership and was told I could not get a partial year refund. Two examples in 1-day of their terrible customer service.

Negative experience: The customer service agents need to pay attention to their attitudes! I had to speak with 3 agents (1 on the Premier desk~ very snooty, 2 others in The Wilmington branch office, 1 very nasty the other quite professional) to find out if my membership was secure and paid for after receiving 3 bills once I had made my payment. If I didn't travel so much, would certainly give up my membership. Definitely looking into other avenues.

Negative experience: After many years of membership I got a free road assistance through my Car Insurance Cia. When called AAA to cancel and be reimbursed, I was told there is no reimbursement!!!! And my membership just got renewed!!!!Talking about definition of a schem!!!!!

Negative experience: I have not been a AAA member for more than 10 years, but still keep getting their membership forms. I had one year where they went into my banking account and stole money from me to pay for membership fees. I've never done electronic banking with their company. I've even gone through the Better Business Bureau in an attempt to stop receiving their forms, but to no avail. There was a time when being a AAA member was something good for me, but not anymore. I guess they've become desperate over the last 10 years. I would rank them lower than one star if they had that level of ranking.

Fantastic experience: Used the towing service yesterday for the first time in several years. I only wish I could give them a 6. I had my truck at Sears in the Concord Mall to have tires installed. They called me to tell me that I had a brake problem. That they could/would not fix it and it could not be driven. I told them I had Driven it to them, still no offer of help. So totally frustrated I had to find another shop to take If to, and figure out how to get it to them. I called AAA and from getting a human being In a very short time to shaking the hand of the tow truck driver as he was taking my Car to the shop it was an absolute pleasure. I kept thinking this is just going to easy, I know Something is going to go wrong, it did not. I kept thinking about how my wife would do if she needed them And simply relaxed knowing she would be secure and well taken of. Think about this The truck came to get me within a one hour time frame (actually mush less). I was called, and sent a text Telling me when the driver would be there. He was 4 minutes early. I told my both children that I wanted them to call and sign up and I would pay for it. Really, this is the kind of service each one of us hopes to get close to and it was delivered to me As if I were their only client. Kudos to all for a job done perfectly.

Fantastic experience: Exceeds expectations! First thing you notice when you walk in is the bright and clear layout - Service, Member Services and Insurance. Went in to pay registration and update address and it took less than 3 minutes to have the new registration and sticker in my hand. No need to go to the DMV. Free wi-fi, complimentary coffee or tea. Workshop is prompt and practical. Great technicians, pricing and turnaround.

Negative experience: My new car insurance provides roadside assistance so I sadly had to cancel my AAA membership. I spoke to a very rude supervisor and he told me that THEY will keep my money, which is $76. I am currently unemployed and this money is ours and it is important for me to have all the funds I can have allowing me to take care of my wife and 3 year old daughter. I WILL NOT STOP UNTIL I GET MY MONEY BACK SO I HOPE THE BAD PRESS IS WORTH IT TO THEM!!! I asked them to please call me and tell me that they changed their position and that they will give us a 66% partial refund since again, we do not need AAA service now. NO NEWS YET...WHEN THEY GIVE ME OUR FUNDS, I WILL UPDATE THIS POOR REVIEW!!!
Negative experience: Outsourced calls overseas, but the bosses in DE says they don't. Ripped off with towing charges with plus membership, membership renewal fraudulently doubled, dozen calls, many transfers, not fixed.
Negative experience: Horrible customer service. Claim adjusters and appraisers are rude. Never return phone calls. You have to call a few times in order to reach someone.
