Fantastic experience: Our High School used this company for a trip for the band students. They visited a college, did a clinic, played some performances, and enjoyed Universal Studios. The company had a suggested payment schedule, built up an itinerary, had a guide, meals and hotels set up. There was not much for you to worry about as everything was set up by Music Travel Consultants. The students, chaperones, and music director had an AMAZING time! I HIGHLY recommend using them for your travel plans.

Negative experience: I took my band to Universal and Disney this year and it was really bad experience using Music Travel Consultants. This trip was a struggle for the entire planning phase. The first consultant we had left the job, but working with them was extremely difficult. They both forgot and didn't communicate deadlines very well. Even past this person, communication and clarity were incredibly poor. The wording on documents and messages did not clearly explain multiple questions that were posed, which amounted to a direct phone call that was said to "rarely happen" due to the inept handling of the trip. Some reparations were made, but the entire situation before that was such a struggle. The chosen flight was strange and made the trip much more tiring due to two layovers and harsh flight times. The experience at the parks was fine, and our tour director was good. The hotel was really bad. Multiple issues came up and were not addressed by the hotel. Missed wake up calls, an unresponsive desk, and literally blood on "clean" sheets that the hotel never changed out and we had to fix on our own. Overall, this trip was a struggle. Based on my experience, I would never use this company again, and I would advise every other music teacher I know from using this company due to how poorly this trip was handled.

I have traveled a lot and they didn't miss a thing! The first hotel was ok, the second got better and the third was wonderful, but nothing that would make the trip less than amazing. Conlin and Sue did a very excellent job at making sure that everyone had the best experience possible. Our tour guides were accommodating and knowledgeable, also funny and personable. The bus drivers were phenomenal. Our trip to Ireland will forever be a core memory. I never expected a group trip to go so well, but I am forever thankful for Music Travel Consultants for arranging a wonderful trip! Ireland will see me again!

Positive experience: They kept us informed the whole trip via the app. I liked the transparency of the events, flights, etc. Their website to register and pay is easy to use and his trip was jam packed with activities. When I ask my son about his experience, he smiles and reflects so it was worth the money for sure! I was disappointed about the fact I assumed we were paying for at least his own bed. No mention of beds listed in the itinerary either. So just be aware if you see quad occupancy the kids might be sharing beds.

Fantastic experience: I've been on two trips with MTC and they have both been excellent. The bus drivers on my most recent trip were exceptional. Everything went according to plan and we were well taken care of.

Fantastic experience: Travelled with MTC as Tour Coordinators for our Michigan Musicians Abroad Trip. They organized a 16-day tour of Europe for students from the state of Michigan. As a staff member for this trip, I was very impressed by their organization and ability to quickly solve any unforeseen problems that arised!

Negative experience: It was in the 80s and the AC on the bus was broken the whole trip from Indiana to NYC & back. Both elevators were broke the first night at the Hampton Inn Newark Airport. The Broadway show was awesome though!

Negative experience: Unless you are comfortable with not getting any information about your trip until a couple weeks before I DO NOT recommend this company! They were way over priced than if we booked separately but did it because my daughter really wanted “to be with the group”. They changed the hotel without notifying us making it difficult for family to plan to meet us. They ended up booking a flight that did not get home until 11pm with Elementary aged drama group. We are flying from Orlando to Baltimore… there is a flight about ever couple hours so no excuse. When I complained they said too late to cancel since a month away and we would lose our money. Mind you I only found out flight times after a family member questioned the drama director a month from leaving, not from travel consultants who are still radio silent on the actual agenda 4 week 5 weeks out! Only thing they actively communicated regularly was how much we owed when… never again! Pretty sure drama group got fundraiser money as I saw them actively collecting it at other plays… but I asked (again a month out) and they have not said they got fundraiser money… If your group is going book separate and meet them down there! You will be happy you did.

Every detail was taken care of, and the communication was excellent! We saw, absolutely every thing we would want to see or experience and they were very organized and went above and beyond.! I highly recommend this company for your travel needs!

Fantastic experience: I had the opportunity to play in the 2024 Tournament of Roses Parade with the group Pipes on Parade and MTC were chosen to run our trip. From start to finish I can really say that they did a fantastic job. They even provide an app with itinerary and contact info that allows you to easily navigate your trip. From their friendly staff, to the clean and modern buses, delicious meals, nice hotels, fun activities and meticulous planning, they made everything a breeze. If I ever have the opportunity to go back to the TOR parade or do any other large group travel I would not hesitate to choose MTC. If you are a group or a school looking for a travel consultant company, you have found it! Give them a call.

Negative experience: Communication is lacking. Don’t expect it. At all. Just give them your money and hope it’s a real trip you’re going on.

Don’t book with them if you can’t afford $4000/kid. They will take a simple trip and make it massive. Exclusivity, not inclusivity.

Fantastic experience: We just traveled with over 600 people to Ireland. The food, the tours, the transportation, the hotels... top notch. Better than I could have even imagined with this many people. Our tour felt unique and small to our bus yet part of the large over all group. Negative experience: My child was going on a trip and decided to cancel due to the requirements of COVID and restrictions in the place his school was traveling to. There was a non refundale 100.00 payment which i understand but we paid an additional 330.00 of which they now say my child can only receive a 130.00 back. I think that this is a poor way to do business the trip isn't until March 2022 and the rules and restrictions changed after we had signed him up. I would not recommend using this business for a trip planning.

Negative experience: Our school had a band trip scheduled in May 2020 but had postpone due to COVID. They rescheduled it for May 2021. They just cancelled it do to the concerns of COVID and all the cases still continuing. They kept the $50 deposit. Parents should not be forced to give away free money in a case like this. Horrible business decision and I hope more parents complain and report them to the to better business bureau

Negative experience: My HS Senior daughter’s choir tour was canceled due to the pandemic. This company decided to keep $171 of her hard-earned (via fundraisers) money rather than refund the entire amount. We had the option to roll over 100% of the money for future travel, but that’s a non-option since she is graduating.

Negative experience: This company saw an opportunity to profit from the 2020 Covid pandemic and proceeded to do so. While they followed the contractual language for a student to “choose“ to cancel a trip (keeping the non refundable deposit plus an additional 25% of payment);the government mandates to not travel should have been considered in their refunds, especially with the numbers of students nationwide that were forced to cancel trips. They offered 100% credit for future travel as an option - which implies that their incurred expenses for the cancellations were considerably less than the penalties charged to parents/students. I and my student will not be using this company again unless they reassess their refund policy for this pandemic and refund additional monies that are in alignment with actual expenses incurred.

Negative experience: The kids in our hometown of Bedford’s band trip had to be cancelled because of Covid -19, and this horrible company refuses to give the parents full refunds back. I would Never do business with them.

Negative experience: Everyone knows about COVID-19. It wasn’t really something we could control. This company decides to keep 25% of paid money into the trip that was still months away. They claim not all vendors refunded all the money to them. We should just take their word for it I guess. 25% from all the schools/groups/organizations adds up to a lot of money. We had a trip to Italy that was cancelled because of the virus but the difference is we received a prompt refund in full!

Negative experience: This company should not be used! Terrible customer service. Our school had a trip to Disney planned and Disney closed (die to COVID-19) and our students and chaperones are yet to receive refunds! We are also being told we will only receive a 75% refund!! This company is making over $55,000 for doing absolutely NOTHING!!! Also still waiting on refunds and they blame Disney World!!!

Negative experience: Stealing people’s money is inexcusable especially during a time of need for many people due to the pandemic. Keeping 25% of the total amount is deceptive. These circumstances were out of our control. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Negative experience: Keeping 25% of all the 2020 Seniors canceled trips is just flat out WRONG! REFUND THE BALANCE OF THEIR TRIPS!!!!

Negative experience: I'd give them ZERO stars, if it was an option! My son's school used MTC for a 2020 Disney Trip. The trip had to be cancelled, just days before, due to Disney closing and all of the Covid-19 restrictions that were put in place. The trip was already (required to be) paid in full and we've been trying to get our money back, for months now. They have elected to KEEP 1/4 of each travelers payment for themselves. That is nearly $55,000, just from our school alone! They are doing the same thing to all of the other students and families who had pending trips scheduled. From our estimate, that's over 8 MILLION DOLLAR. This is money out of the pockets of families, during an already difficult time. Our administration tried effortlessly to come to a better resolution but MTC will not budge. They have also chosen to ignore resolution attempts and concerns from the parents and students. I, myself, have emails and calls which have been completely ignored. I find it ridiculous that they are CHOOSING to grossly profit during this time. I understand that a small fee may be necessary but this outrageous. PLEASE NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR TRIPS!!!

Fantastic experience: My son's high school marching band enjoyed a wonderful trip to Disney World. I appreciate all the detail that went into the payments, itinerary, special events, and transportation. When our group had a difficulty tied to ticketing due to a National Service Disruption via FedEx, many parents became upset because this inconvenienced them in booking Fast Passes. Even though, I was disappointed in our parents' response and knew MTC had no control over this situation, our consultant, Andrew Moran, stood before our parent meeting, took responsibility, apologized, and the company even added special access and events to make up for it. This was absolutely not necessary; however, it was very courteous and appreciated! My son had an excellent time, and the trip went smoothly from start to finish!

Fantastic experience: Traveling with a group of over 200 band members, chaperones and parents, Music Travel Consultants did an outstanding job! Their communication and details were spot on and we had the best experience ever at Disney! Andrew Moran and his team we very helpful with any questions we had and knew so much about Disney, it’s history and what to expect. Morgan kept bus #5 well informed and kept us all well organized. I would do this trip again in a heartbeat! Thank you MTC for the best vacation ever!

Fantastic experience: This tour company handled the Prosper HS band's travel arrangements when they went to Disney World to perform. From the beginning everything was done clearly with communication and fairly with pricing and information. My daughter was safe and had a great time. This company also went out of their way to provide at least three once-in-a-lifetime Disney experiences not available to the normal guest. My child will never forget this trip.

Fantastic experience: Okay so this company has provided us with a great experience of New York. We stuck exactly to the schedule, and even got ahead sometimes. We went to Broadway, are going to march in a parade, watched the biggest Christmas show in the world, saw the observatory, went to central park, went to the statue of liberty, etc. They did not schedule strictly, and we were given itineraries before we went so we knew what to expect. We were told to bring food for the bus ride, made stops for food and restrooms, and were given at least 6 hours of sleep. Also, what do you expect? We are in New York for the sights and getting up early will get the most out of your day. Belongings on the broken down bus were to be transferred if you wanted them (told to bring them and the people were told when they would receive them again). Music travel consultants has taken care of us and allowed for safe trips. Being "dangerously crammed" into the isles is an overstatement. People were sitting in the isles just fine. A great trip and we hit so many relevant landmarks as listed above and such as Alexander Hamilton's Grave, the Trinity Church, Wall Street, etc and some people (like the other reviewers) slept through the relevant parts and did not care to watch the shows. Also, a low budget trip for New York can cost anywhere from $2104 to $2804, and we paid around 1500 for great seats and amazing views. Everything was handled exceedingly well and I 100 percent recommend music travel consusltants.

Fantastic experience: Traveling is not easy. It is, by design, meant to shake you free from your comfort zone to experience new sights, sounds, and adventures. Traveling well is an experience that can best be managed by professionals. This is the experience I recently had with Music Travel Consultants on our band's trip to New York and Philadelphia. Our tour directors, Chuck and Russ, and our drivers, Sean and John, displayed the utmost professionalism and calm confidence needed to direct 60 plus young musicians through two of the busiest, brightest cities America has to offer. Most of the trip, thanks to them, went like clockwork; but where they truly shined was in a moment where the plan fell apart. As we entered the Lincoln Tunnel to depart New York for the day, one of our busses began experiencing power loss. Sean, our driver, knew that if we lost all power in that tunnel, we were going to be in real trouble and stranded in a very dangerous predicament. Through some very quick thinking, he was able to shut down unnecessary power drains, while simultaneously slowing the bus to maximize power efficiency; he was able to safely make it through, pulling the bus off the road to ascertain the malfunction. Eventually the bus had to be towed and repaired, which is where their professionalism was allowed to shine once again. The bus was completely disabled, and an action plan was put immediately into place to get a replacement sent to us. The VP of Music Travel Consultants drove a bus through the night from Indiana, to make sure there was as little disruption to our trip as possible. When the bus was disabled, John and Sean worked through the night to transfer our belongings from one bus to the other, and then completely loaded ALL of our luggage from the hotel to the new bus, while our students and chaperones were blissfully taking in the sights of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the Manhattan skyline. None of that would be possible without the drivers quick thinking, and diligent, hard working effort. Also, it should be noted that our tour guides, Chuck and Russ, were EXCEPTIONAL in planning around this inconvenience, and through the teamwork they displayed, the disruption was a minimum. All in all, we had a fantastic time seeing some of the most famous sites the Big Apple has to offer, ate some wonderful food, as we were rarely more than 20 feet away from something to eat, and were well and safely taken care of in a less than ideal travel hiccup. MTC, you should be proud of the team you put together, because we were lucky to have them. I could write 10 more pages on how great this trip was, but you get the idea. I HIGHLY recommend Music Travel Consultants for your groups next trip, and this is a review I am proud to sign my name to.

Fantastic experience: I have been on several trips with this company. Each time the service and planning has been amazing. It is extremely difficult to keep large groups together, safe, and happy. Now, together and safe they have down. Happiness and appreciation is up to the individual. We were thrilled with all opportunities to see and learn about the Big Apple and Philly. Well done, even with a few curve balls thrown your way.

Negative experience: Terrible company. Bus broke down, we had to combine buses. We stood/sit in the aisle. The company prioritizes chaperone safety above anything else; chaperones were allowed seats on the combined bus while students were dangerously crammed into the aisle. They schedule strictly and can't stick to the schedule. They didn't allow us to see the most prevalent parts of NYC (statue of liberty, empire state building, central park). Instead we went on a history tour about Bowling Green Avenue. They purposefully scheduled 6 hours of sleep a night for us. Not to mention the website was difficult to navigate and acquiring my travel pin number was unorganized and inconvenient. Communication was nonexistent. Do yourself a favor and don't buy from this company. If you believe in your children's safety and enjoyment, don't go on this company's trips. You can see any place by yourself or with your family and have a far better and less expensive experience.

Fantastic experience: They do a great job with our daughter's high school band trips. Have been working with them for the past 4 years. It is quick and easy to make payments on their website. Due to Celiac Disease, our daughter needs to have gluten free meals and they have always made sure she has those for the provided meals which has been a relief to know that is taken care of.

Fantastic experience: My school and one of our neighboring schools just came back from a five day trip to Disney. Our trip guide was excellent!!! She was very friendly, personable, and always a quick call away! Communication was very good and the app is definitely worth downloading, it was very useful over the course of the trip. When we had lightning and thunder storms student safety was always the first priority. It was well organized and our events were a lot of fun and we had a fantastic time! I would use Music Travel again.

Negative experience: FALSE ADVERTISING - Hawaii !! Angry kids. Sad teachers. Huge disappointment and a massive waste of school and parent's money. We've used MTC for a successful trip to Chicago for the 2018 Mid-Western International Band & Orchestra Conference but this 2019 trip to Hawaii to play aboard the USS Missouri was an utter fail. The only reason I gave 2 stars was because the travel and lodging arraignments were done well. In-person meetings with MTC and all print/electronic documents received said the band would (exact quote), "...play on the deck of the USS Missouri." Please note, the stern of the Mighty Mo does have a huge permanent weather awning and seating in place for very large events... Unfortunately, the 118 member band was deposited on the END of the huge concrete pier near the bow of the ship. The public never heard them play. They played for themselves while facing away from the ship. The only people that heard them were the chaperones and the local workers who trucked in the instruments. There was also no historical educational value in the trip. Our two daughter's only had 15-20 minutes aboard the USS Missouri and were not able to visit the USS Arizona Memorial. To top it off, the music education aspect was also a fail. One clinician from the local university spent a couple hours with the kids but since it was broken down by band elements, our daughters got about 20 minutes of clinic time. Flew 1/2 way around the world, spent precious family vacation time and burned through over $7,000 for what?

Fantastic experience: Would highly recommend any group to work with Music Travel Consultants! The company was amazing while working with our band parent association board members, and director. Communication was top notch between the company, and parents. Everything was explained in detail and our daughter had the best time on her trip this past week! Looking forward to working with them again on another trip in two years!

Negative experience: I am sure my daughter will enjoy the upcoming trip but this company is absolutely horrible to work with. The communication with families is non existent. They only communicate through the kids... The website is hard to navigate and the price for our trip changed at least 3 times. I am on the board of our band booster committee and would not recommend them. It has been an unpleasant experience from the beginning.

MTC coordinated everything perfectly, traveled right along with us, and anticipated the needs of a group this size before we even knew it. Fantastic experience: I was a chaperone for the Avon marching Band’s trip to San Antonio. The consultants went above and beyond accommodating for our group. They took me to Walmart to pick up contact lenses that a student needed and were willing to do anything else to help. Mark, Sue, Andrew, and all the others involved did a great job of planning and scheduling for over 300 people to go so far away! Thanks music travel for another great trip!
