Fantastic experience: Summer Kidder was the best agent we could have had for this trip. We took out daughter to Jamaica for her 16th birthday and Summer made the travel a NO WORRY organized process. Fantastic experience: I decided very last minute to spend a week in Iceland. The only way this was possible for me was to rely on a travel agent who could put together the ideal solo tour. I looked around a few places and House of Travel was an easy choice. Sierra put together an amazing itinerary for me. She loaded up every little detail onto an app for me, and happily and patiently revised it for me and answered all my questions. Most of all, as hiccups arrived as I travelled she was there to help me (on a Saturday, while i was on a plane). Its probably the best customer service ive ever received. I definitely recommend them for any journey you have in mind.

Fantastic experience: Just returned from a 5-day trip to Turks & Caicos Beaches Resort. Wow!! What a fantastic trip, and this resort is absolutely beautiful. Five wonderful villages all joined together in one huge beach front resort. The number of restaurants, the friendliness of literally hundreds of staff, the amenities, the beach, the water, the food, the drinks... Up to now, my best vacation ever was two weeks in Hawaii hopping the islands, but this trip is right up there with it. Amy was absolutely fantastic putting this trip together. You really need to go here...

Fantastic experience: House of Travel and Cheree Scardina were a life line in a sea of chaos. Saying thank you to Cheree for the help, kindness, and sincere caring she gave is not enough. I know our experience without her help would have been bad. Our only daughter planned her wedding at The Valley of Fire National Park in Las Vegas. Being we live in Louisiana, no one was going to attend. My husband l decided we had to go and did not tell her. We wanted it to be a surprise. It had been 30 years since we’d flown and after looking into flights and scheduling my anxiety level increased. I decided to contact House of Travel to help. Cheree was professional, nice, and friendly. Giving her the details of what airport we would prefer using and the resort we wanted to stay at, she was able to have everything ready for my approval the next day. She handled it all and gave us travel tips about the rules knowing it had been a long time since we had flown. The flight was scheduled for Monday morning July 8th 2024. It was just our bad luck that Hurricane Berly a cat 5 was due to hit the coast of Louisiana that day and flying out of Lafayette airport became a problem. On the Saturday before our flight, Cheree called me and was worried about the hurricane impeding our travel. So she booked us on an earlier flight for Sunday and made the arrangements for the resort. We were at the airport on Sunday morning, waiting for our flight when Cheree checked in with me to make sure all was well. Then it began. The nightmare of flying. Not a fear of the actual flight but the delays and dealing with the workers of the airlines. We have traveled all over the country in the last 30 years by car. Before that we did fly several times to Los Angeles and back with no problems. I always thought it would be nice to fly and get to our destination sooner but I was wrong. 30 minutes before we were to board, the delays started coming in. Cheree immediately called me and said not to worry, she would find out what was going on. She had been watching our flight. The delays continued every 15 minutes, delaying another 15 minutes. This went on for hours. The airline workers were no help and frankly didn’t care. Everyone had connecting flights to get to and wanting help to reschedule connections. It’s difficult to reschedule a connecting flight if you have no idea when you will get there. Cheree was able to find out that our plane had a scheduled maintenance for that day. What in the world? She was extremely upset on our behalf that for 1, the airline scheduled a maintenance for a plane on a 4th of July weekend and for 2, if they knew about a scheduled maintenance, why did they sell us a ticket the day before. The flight ended up being canceled late that evening. Driving home at 8:00pm all our hopes for going to our Daughters wedding were gone. We decided it just wasn’t going to happen when Cheree texted me a new flight schedule for Monday morning at a different airport. The stress of the day and everything just came out and I began crying. I couldn’t help it. I texted her back saying I’m crying now. My phone immediately rang and she began saying “What’s wrong. Did I do something wrong? I thought you wanted to go to Vegas? Why are you crying?” I couldn’t speak. Knowing she had been working on our trip, even after we decided it wouldn’t happen and finding out we could in fact go, warmed my heart. I was finally able to put her at ease explaining why we were going to Las Vegas and she was so happy to find out we would make the wedding. It didn’t escape me that she had been so helpful and caring when she thought we were just going on vacation. That wasn’t the end of our flying nightmare there and back but through it all, Cheree was there. This happened the week before the internet crashed causing delayed flights all over the country. Cheree called us her people and treated us like family. If you are traveling, I highly recommend you contact House of Travel, you never know what problems will arise. We were able to surprise our daughter and attend her wedding all thanks to Cheree.

Fantastic experience: House of Travel booked my golf trip to the Dominican Republic. I worked with Summer Kidder and she took care of everything. I have never used a travel agency before, and now I don’t want to use any other one. Summer was amazing the entire way. I will recommend Summer and House of Travel to anyone I know that is wanting to travel. She made sure to check on me during the entire trip.. not too much but just enough to let me know she was there if I needed her for anything. Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic is a great resort, particularly for golf. Teeth of the Dog is the type of golf course that makes every course you play afterwards feel like a disappointment because they don’t measure up to it. Very fun trip and Summer and House of Travel made it happen. Thank you!

The resort was beautiful and clean, and the service, impeccable. One of the restaurants at which I dined is an outdoor rooftop restaurant with a breathtaking amazing view of the ocean. And the spa, total luxury; the ambience, friendliness and cleanliness made it very easy for me to enjoy my deep tissue massage. Although I vacationed alone, I felt safe at the resort as the staff there was very pleasant, friendly and helpful. Fantastic experience: Cheree was an outstanding travel agent when it came to planning the perfect getaway for our honeymoon to Sandals Halcyon in St. Lucia! We started planning a year in advance and she kept us updated along the way with when payments were due and so forth. The day of our travel, we had some issues at the airport and ultimately weren’t sure if we would be able to make our flight to St. Lucia that day, thus loosing two whole days of our trip. Cheree stepped right in while we were on our flight to Miami and got us on our flight! She continued to check in on us while we were there and answered any and every question we had, even when I got sick one night and needed a nurse to come to our room! Fantastic experience: For many years, my husband and I had taken a vacation every summer prior to the Covid pandemic. Due to her illness, we had to find a new travel agent. I came to her in the middle of planning a wedding and basically told her what I wanted to spend and what I wanted. Within a day she was sending me places I’d asked about AND places she recommended. We ended up choosing a place she recommended, and I didn’t have to worry about anything. She took care of booking, flights, transportation to and from the airport. She was always dependable and kind. From now on I’ll be using her for every trip we take!

The only issue we had was caused by a hurricane and Sierra made sure we were able to reschedule flights with vouchers. She was really flexible and helped us plan this trip for over a year. Fantastic experience: From the moment we called Cheree Scardina at House of Travel, she was very helpful and quick to get us several quotes at different resorts to help us plan our perfect vacation! On our recent trip to Cancun, Cheree was in constant contact with me when our flight was delayed leaving the airport which made us miss our connecting flight. While sitting on the plane before takeoff, Cheree had us another flight already booked. Since our flight was cancelled and rebooked, she contacted the transportation company and arranged for them to pick us up at a later time. She makes traveling FUN and WORRY FREE, so call her for all of your vacation needs!

Negative experience: We had a less than stellar experience with one of the agents (Sierra) back in 2019. She booked us with an Airline that is known for horrible customer service and terrible reviews (Copa) When our group informed Sierra of our experience with this Airline she did not go out of her way to help us with refunds, not even a partial considering we had paid for trip insurance. It felt like it was all about money and our group traveling at that time was completely disgusted with the situation. Fast forward to May 2022. We are planning a trip for the end of this year. We get in contact with Amy and inform her respectfully we would like to work with a different agent besides Sierra because of the prior experience that was had. She mentions she will talk it over with her team and get back to us. Today, she calls and insincerely informs us that they're are not the best agency for us at this time and that there are other agencies out there. That is more than fine for us. Clearly, they're not able to move on in a mature way from 2019 and they can't let it go. This only confirms for me that 2019 should have been the end for us having any dealings with the agency period. But she is correct about one thing, there are better professional agencies out there in the Louisiana area that will better serve our needs for future trip planning. We were already looking at other agencies anyway so thanks.

Fantastic experience: House of Travel is the way to go! My travel agent, Cheree Scardina was so patient with our indecisiveness & so resourceful when we didn’t know where we wanted to go. She truly did magic in making our honeymoon dreams come true! Very reasonably priced too! No doubt we will use House of Travel & Cheree again!

Negative experience: My sister and I recently made contact with this agency to inquire about vacation packages. We spoke with Amy and informed her that we wanted to deal with a DIFFERENT agent this time around because we had a bad experience with the previous agent we dealt with. She spoke as if she understood where we were coming from and stated that she would have another agent give us a call back and so on and so forth. Next day, we received a call back from Amy who tells us in a very condescending and sarcastic like tone that their agency unfortunately can’t do anything more for us and went on to say how there are other great agencies out there. We were anticipating that she would go back and tell the agent we had the bad experience with that we wanted to request a different agent this time around which is extremely unprofessional and such a highschool type mentality to have especially in a work place. The way in which Amy chose to deal with this just confirms the lack of character and professionalism this agency has. At the end of the day, you can’t change the type of experience a person has with someone else, whether you like it or not. Myself and the three other people who traveled along all had a bad experience with a specific agent and we were all disgusted and appalled with her service and respectfully chose not to move forward with her for any future trips but in the end this agency chose to lose out on revenue and behave immaturely rather than respecting their customers wishes to have a different agent. Good thing my sister and I had already made contact with another agency before Amy called to deliver this totally theatrical and scripted like spill. Just Wow!!

Fantastic experience: Sierra guided us through the whole process and very patient as we had to cancel/reschedule twice due to personal circumstances. She stayed on top of locating a beautiful resort and flights at an affordable price that fit our time frame. Since we were leaving the country, she helped advise us on all of our travel documents. I would highly recommend Sierra, we plan to use her services for future travel needs.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend House of Travel enough! My husband and I have started using them for all of our vacations. We don’t have to spend so much time comparing rates between different websites/discount options now. They can get it for the best price - usually an even better price than we can get even after all that research. We tell Amy what we are thinking about doing (whether we have a very specific idea of where/what we want or we don’t even have a specific destination in mind) and she sends us options with cost breakdowns so we can decide which one works best for us. She has always bent over backwards to get us where we want to go, at the price point we need, as well as answering any questions we have. Not to mention her patience with us as we had to cancel and/or replan trips due to the COVID outbreaks over the last 1.5 years. If you are considering using them for your next adventure, stop thinking about it and DO IT. You won’t regret it!

Presented several great options for our trip and the one we chose was exactly as she described. Also provided some great tips in getting through security points in airports. Have already used her to book our next trip.

Fantastic experience: I wish I had discovered House of Travel years ago when I relocated to Baton Rouge!!! They have become my definite “go-to” for all my personal travel. I used to plan and shop for my personal recreational lodging, airfare, and excursions myself. After spending hours looking at online travel deals and packages and trying to piece them together myself to save money and avoid all of the limitations and restrictions, I would get frustrated. I have found by personal experience traveling with groups who used online faceless travel companies that once purchased, trying to reach a real person to sort out a problem or mistake is next to impossible. In addition, those “cheap fares” our group purchased always stuck us in the back of the plane in the tiniest seats. Well, Amy at House of Travel has changed all of that. She has gotten me better accommodations at hotels and resorts at better rates than I have obtained before, and that is with me already being gold, platinum, and diamond member level with the top three international hotel conglomerates. Amy has followed up on existing reservations booked many months in advance to get me more for my money than originally booked. Amy and the rest of the staff have always been friendly, courteous, and most importantly....responsive. I have found the professionalism, knowledge, experience, and overall customer service by the entire staff at House of Travel to far exceed that of other local and chain travel agencies I contacted before contacting House of Travel in Baton Rouge. Do yourself a favor. Save the hassle, uncertainty, and money of dealing with the numerous faceless online travel booking companies or other local travel companies and use House of Travel. My fiancé and I have recommended it to all of our friends and family based on our positive experiences. 5-Star business all the way!!!!

Fantastic experience: We have had Nannette as our travel agent since 2004. After 10 trips to Jamaica and three to the Dominican Republic, we would not dream of contacting anyone else. Nannette always goes above and beyond and she has become family to us. We had to cancel one trip back in 2010 and she handled the trip insurance claim for us, getting all of our money back. Every trip we are treated like VIP's and I'm positive it is because of her.

Negative experience: Horrible experience dealing with our honeymoon having to be cancelled due to COVID-19. During the process of cancellation we received VERY LITTLE help from our travel agent (Nanette) in dealing with the Trip insurance agency and hardly any communication from her. She claimed to not have internet at her house to be able to assist us in this process and gave us a number to try to figure it out on our own. Fast forward 4 months, and we were stuck with paying for a second honeymoon, and having to absorb the 6,000$ we spent in booking through House of Travel. This is not the treatment you are looking to receive when booking through a travel agency who “specializes” in “The trip of a lifetime”

Fantastic experience: Erica was amazing! Very knowledgeable, helpful, and sweet. I recently booked a quick trip to Tennessee for my husband and I to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary. Fantastic experience: We had a really good experience working with Sierra at House of Travel! When we told her that we wanted to plan our honeymoon to Thailand, she presented us with multiple trip options for visiting different cities in Thailand. We were very particular about choosing which cities to visit and which hotels we wanted to stay in, and she was very accommodating and patience with us as we figured out the best trip for us! Unfortunately, because of COVID-19 we decided to cancel our trip, but I am very much looking forward to working with Sierra again to plan our trip to Thailand sometime in the future!

Fantastic experience: We just got back from a Viking Ocean cruise to Norway that Amy Lytle of House of Travel booked for us. What a great trip! We got to see the Northern lights several times and the ship was fantastic. Amy took care of many complicated details that made our trip stress-free. Fantastic experience: My husband and I used house of travel for our honeymoon. I definitely appreciated not having to plan our honeymoon while planning the wedding. The employees are very kind, prompt and professional. If you tell them what you want they will be able to get it done. I recommend giving them a try especially if you don’t care to or don’t have time to plan your vacation yourself.

Negative experience: Unfortunately myself and the group of people I travel with will never use this agency again. We had the worst experience on our most recent trip from getting to and leaving our destination. We definitely could have been accommadated much better in my opinion; I know in my heart more could have been done for myself and my group. We have already started the process of searching for another travel agency for future trips.

Fantastic experience: Planned our trip to Italy down to the last detail. Everything was wonderful and had no hiccups. Was very kind and patient with a newbie to travel. Answered every question I had and even mapped out what Metro to take to get to my scheduled tours. The hotels were great. Gave great information on things to do before and during our trip. Give them a try you won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic experience: Booked a trip to Italy for a wedding. We factored in free time. Sierra made flight, hotel, car, and excursion arrangements. She listened to our input and made excellent tour recommendations that fit our time schedule. All the accommodations were good. Prebooked tours and rail travel went off without a hitch. The only downside was that the Audi A3 was not as big as we expected. This made traveling with 4 adults and luggage very cramped - but this was not her fault.
