Negative experience: Horrible customer service

Fantastic experience: Great experience. Went in for my real id and the staff were extremely professional and helpful.

Negative experience: They interpret the DMV paperwork different than what the state shows on the forms. Better to go to the real DMV. Worse DMV experience in my life.

Fantastic experience: No wait. Was able to get passport photos within 15 minutes. Great experience , nice staff.

Negative experience: I checked what could be done and what could not be done by AAA DMV. I made my appointment, waited on line, started to process my paperwork to register my vehicle only to be told I could not do it there because I bought the car at auction. Clean signed title with bill of sale but supervisor stated I have to go to an official DMV office. No where does it say on any site, DMV or AAA that cars bought at auction can't be registered at a AAA location. A whole day wasted and now I have to wait three weeks (after waiting two already) and another day off. Would expect more from AAA. Update your website information!

Fantastic experience: I went here to switch my NJ license to NY and make it a real ID. I learned that there needed to be an extra process step because of my middle name only being an initial but being spelled out on another document, not a problem at all because the manager Mike was able to explain to the employees assisting me exactly how to process all the paper work. I was so grateful for everyone's kindness and how efficiently they worked together as a team!

Negative experience: I wish I can put 0 stars. My husband and I visited this location over the weekend to change the title on our car. Since weekends are the only time he’s available, we made a special effort to get there. We hit traffic and called ahead to let them know we’d be about 10 minutes late—but it took 47 minutes for someone to answer the phone. When we arrived, the energy felt off. A staff member started assisting us, but once she learned we wanted to transfer the title of a vehicle purchased at auction, she called over someone named Mike. My husband had all the necessary paperwork, and the title was clean—not salvage. Despite this, we were told they couldn’t help us solely because the car came from an auction. No real explanation, no alternative offered. The experience left us feeling dismissed and disrespected. It honestly felt like they just didn’t want to help Black people. If there are restrictions on auction vehicles, that should be clearly stated on the website to prevent customers from wasting their time and energy. We expected professionalism and clarity—not confusion and condescension.

Positive experience: Never had an issue with this office til today. If you go to the Nanuet office watch put for a you man Jet. Was asking a question and by the time I could finish it he gave me a snippy attitude

Negative experience: Mike, the supervisor, was aggressive and rude. I was trying to have a simple conversation, but he would cut me off every few words. When I called him out and asked him to please let me finish explaining myself he got aggressive and raised his voice. It’s unfortunate because the front desk employees were kind and the insurance agent, Akash, was professional and knowledgeable. The manager came to speak to me after the argument and she was kind and understanding. I am a new member to AAA and was excited about joining and visiting my local AAA location. Unfortunately, they have an incompetent supervisor. He did not even apologize afterwards. Eat rocks Mike

Negative experience: I would not go back unless I have to. The manager prejudice Kate was terrible. I canceled my appointment for tomorrow for an enhanced DL. I'd rather go to the DMV. I thought Triple A should provide good customer service she thought my expectations were too high. They are only a tow service

Negative experience: Don’t come here! As a paying member they don’t answer phones, can’t help you with basic questions or needs. Awful

Negative experience: Service Sucks their drivers overcharge for tolls and they will damage your vehicle and make you pay to fix it and make you hope and pray for reimbursement

Fantastic experience: They are the absolute best!! I went here instead of the DMV for my registration and I’m so glad I did. Everyone is so nice and helpful. I was in and out in no time. There is no wait times which is also amazing. I had a lapse in insurance recently and I called to see if they could help, and unfortunately they are unable to. However, they are so incredibly kind and calmed my worries, telling me this happens more often then you’d think. I always call them first before going to the DMV!

Positive experience: Past experience was five-stars. Most recent was not good. I said I wanted my license renewed so that I could use it to get into Canada. Was assured I would be able to with the new license. Went to Canada and was told by Border Patrol that my license was not the correct version. How does an employee make this mistake when all they do all day long is process licenses??

Negative experience: They never pick up the phone. They never call back and when someone actually picks up, it's a national rep from another state who ultimately will be no help. It's 2024, I shouldn't have to drive and walk in to the establishment to get info. I should be able to call you. Worse yet, I'm a AAA member

Fantastic experience: I'm never going to the real DMV again. AAA offers all DMV services but in a fast, clean, and friendly environment. They took me an hour prior to my appointment because there was no one else waiting, and there's even a Panera next door and Chipotle and Shake Shack across the parking lot. Can't recommend this place highly enough

Negative experience: International Driving Permit. This office has staff lacking proper training. First permit was filled out using a marker. MUST BE A BALL POINT PEN. That does not smear. Additionally birth city was spelled incorrectly. Double check all of their work.

Fantastic experience: Made appointments to get 2 new drivers license and re-register 2 cars after moving back to NY state from NJ. SO MUCH EASIER THAN GOING TO THE DMV IN HAVERSTRAW. We walked out with a temporary DL and registration and plates in about an hour and a half. So easy!!!

Fantastic experience: What a home run this place is regarding DMV assistance. As long as you have a AAA membership and make an appointment. My car needed a registration renewal and I made an appt in one day, went in, filled out the form and Mike had me all set with new registration sticker in 10 minutes. The girls in the front handling with initial paperwork were very nice, I wish I had their names. Saved me a half day sitting in the DMV Office. Excellent service and Mike couldn't have been nicer

Positive experience: Actually a great alternative to DMV with all of their lines of people. But you can't just walk in and expect help. No customers are in the huge store. You have to call and make an appointment.

Fantastic experience: So thankful I didn’t have to hike all the way up to Haverstraw to renew my license ! Staff was attentive and positive. The whole process took about 30 minutes and was a completely different experience than what I would have expected at the DMV.

Negative experience: I was speaking with a AAA representative and asking about making an appointment at an office, and the rep simply hung up on me. These people are rude and disrespectful. If Triple A wants to keep paying customers, they should consider hiring decent people. I will no longer be using ANY of their service. Be warned - they don't care about your needs, just your annual fee.
