Negative experience: I moved from California to Kansas and had to transfer my policy from CA to KS. I spoke with an agent and he was very nice and it’s unfortunate I do not remember his name. He quoted me submitted all my information. A few days later I get a call from Kurt Price and he advised me that the quote was incorrect. He “ fixed” my original quote. It was still a reasonable price . I agreed and paid my premium… well it allllll went down hill from there. He made mistakes with my premium and didn’t advise me he just went on and charged me the difference AND! On top of that he charged me three months of future payments. That isn’t all! I was thinking about home insurance. I never agreed or signed off on any agreement. He charged me for it anyway. I was with AAA for many years and his crooked decisions made me turn away ..

Negative experience: While experiencing an issue with my auto claim, I asked my assigned agent, Nick Borders at the AAA Overland Park office for help. At first he said he wasn't trained on claims. Then he said he could talk to his manager to see how they could help. The next day he called back to say they couldn't help in any way. I asked if they'd even be willing to call claims with, or for me the help resolve the issue. He refused. He said it's not his job to help customers with claims. I asked what he does to earn his pay if he's not helping customers and he said he doesn't get paid in commission so he's not willing to help. My recommendation would be avoid doing business with AAA and especially with this office and Nick Borders in particular.

Negative experience: Terrible! We waited at Walmart for 3 1/2 hours before we could get someone to us!!! We were stranded out of town so it's not like we had a spare car we could access or get to.... Just terrible! Y'all charge us A LOT and have to make us wait for HOURS!!!! FREAKING PATHETIC!!!!!!

Fantastic experience: I am , and I believe I will always be a AAA patron. What started with emergency roadside coverage has now expanded to homeowner's insurance, Auto insurance, and rental insurance for family members. Their services regarding travel, Auto repair shop referrals and discounts is unmatched. More importantly, when you need your insurance provider to really step up and do the right thing, they have never let me down. This week, I went into the Overland Park office with an assorted to do list. I was lucky enough to be greeted by Cindy Shedd. She expertly took care of every question that bounced from rental insurance proof for my daughter's landlord to helping to plan a detailed trip to Italy covering 5 different cities. I never had to leave my seat. Thank you AAA and especially Cindy Shedd for the great service.

Negative experience: Terrible refund experience. I tried canceling the same day, but the agent failed to process it properly and didn't disclose the non refundable start up fee or online promotional rate. I was misinformed multiple times about my refund status and was told I would receive a full refund. After two months of follow-ups, I only received a partial refund. I had to escalate the issue to corporate, only to find out I was stuck with the fee due to the agent's mistake. Very frustrating and misleading process.

Negative experience: Quality of local service has significantly declined: mistakes on policy amounts and premiums, doesn't return phone calls or emails. There are very little options for managing your account online and they don't have the most competitive rates, so without good customer service, what do they have to offer? Looking at other agencies after 15 years.

Negative experience: AAA is not what it used to be. It was much better when they had assigned agents, where you got the one on one services. Now whichever agent answers the phone pulls your policy(s) up. The agent really does not seem to care about the client anymore. I will be getting quotes from other insurance agencies where I can get the individual services, with an assigned agent.

Negative experience: TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE! Harris Felsen made a mess of my account, refused to do anything about it, went AWOL and I received no further communication until I got mail from a debt collector. I called to resolve the issue over the phone, and got a smarmy unhelpful lady who would not listen and insisted everything was my fault. Read the other reviews here so you can avoid the same problem. Truly an awful location full of lazy despicable losers.

Negative experience: Harris felsen was a in non-communicative disaster for my 5-6 yrs he was my agent. Phone, email no response, unless I threatened to cancel (20 yrs @ aaa). As another review said they wouldn't have him empty his trash, I Agree!! Don't walk away from this guy, RUN! A disgrace for a good ins company!

Fantastic experience: I'm really happy to have AJ be our travel agent! We were undecided on many destinations. She did not try to convince or sell us to any place in particular. She went over our interests and desires of where or what we would like to experience during travel. Then AJ picked out options that we may be interested in. We went home and literally called her the next day to book our trip! We absolutory will use you again AJ Johnston!

Fantastic experience: Not a AAA member, but I stopped in for an International Driver’s Permit (IDP) and the experience and service was exceptional. I walked in not knowing what to expect but Cindy took cared of everything. I was greeted with a smile, was asked the reason for the visit, got my picture taken, got my IDP, paid the fees (as of June ‘23, $15 photo/$20 IDP), and was on my way. From the time I walked in, to the time I left, it was around 10 mins (noted that there was no lines when I entered ).

Fantastic experience: Locked my keys in my car, and they came within 17 minutes! I loved it fast service! Took 5 minutes to open my door so I can get my keys! Mind you I locked my keys out the next day! It was one of “those” weekend where I kept getting out without taking my keys out! Proud to be a member!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic experience: I had a delightful experience recently at the AAA office on Metcalf! I needed a Triptik for an upcoming trip to Arizona, and by good fortune I spoke with Trevor when I called. I explained where I was going and what I would be doing while I was there, and Trevor was able to not only put together a Triptik from start to finish but also gathered maps of the state, the Grand Canyon region, and Flagstaff/Sedona. Everything was ready in under an hour and I was able to stop by and pick it up later that day. How easy was that?! Trevor was delightful to work with, and the entire process was faster than a Google search. Many thanks to Trevor and the entire team at AAA for providing top-notch service to all their members. It's a pleasure to plan a vacation with their assistance!

Fantastic experience: Funny story, this was an accidental call so I decided to see what they had to offer. A gentleman by the name of Adam Elliott helped me with ANY question or concerns that I made have had. Mr.Adam Elliott was very patient with me while I took a few weeks to decide what it was that I truly needed. I got the whole package deal for less than $200 a month, that includes road side assistance car insurance house alarm and home insurance. When I tell y'all this man is good at his job I highly recommend his services to whom ever. Mr. Adam Elliott thank you so much for helping me stay within my budget.

Negative experience: I have been a customer for 10 years and I lost it with the bad attitude of Harris felsen. I called him this past Friday to do something on my house insurance but instead he decided to be rude to me instead of assuring me that he is on it. I’m not going to give you my money if your going to be rude and unprofessional. I cant even get him to call me back . I’m done and I won’t even hire him to throw my trash away in my business .

Fantastic experience: Have used this Metcalf this location as my prime club. Heading to California then to Arizona for vacation and visiting family. Elizabeth assisted us with maps, tour books and trip-tik. The information they provide saves tine by identifying construction areas, road closures, etc. The tour books provide hotel, restaurant and detailed information about the state and cities. If you are a traveler, AAA is well worth the membership. Kudos to Elizabeth for great customed service.

Fantastic experience: Went for my International Driving Permit. I got help straightaway, my photo taken, Permit prepared, and paid for within 15 minutes. Staff were courteous and knowledgeable!

Negative experience: Went in to see about my coverage and different options about changing it. The agent I've always worked with recently left so I was working with an agent I've never worked with before. This agent made me feel like it was a complete inconvenience that I came into the office, flat out told me next time to call the office if I have questions next time, and gave me the bare minimum information and didn't allow me to ask any follow up questions. This is the type of behavior that will lose you a customer of 5+ years.

Negative experience: My agent retired. Now I have a problem with my home insurance that I wanted to resolve. I called at least five times in couple of weeks, talked to several people. Each time when I called, they mentioned that some agent or Manager will call me back but nobody called me yet. Really frustrated.

Negative experience: Absolutely terrible customer service by AAA agent Harris Felsen. I don't recommend him to serve anyone. Fake smile, talks genuine ,but phony. Very untrustworthy. Harris claims 30 yrs plus in the insurance industry and he's learned professionalism. He learned how to screw clients.

Negative experience: Terrible road service experience. Brake problem on Friday night (8:00 pm) of Memorial Day weekend in terrible rainstorm. Wait for tow truck for almost three hours. Called twice to check, was told they were running behind - leave the keys under the mat and they will call when they pick it up. Got a call at 5:15 am saying they were there and taking it to the dealer. We left a voicemail for the service tech at the dealer telling him the car would be there and about the issue. Received a call from service tech Tuesday morning 7:00 am asking where the car was. Both he and I called AAA - was told it was there at the dealership. AAA tells tech to call the tow service. Tow service says it's there - it's not. Tow service sends map showing where it was dropped off - map shows it being delivered to a Quick Trip. Both tech and I call AAA again - told it was delivered, check your lot again or talk to tow service. I asked AAA to give me a call in an hour with an update - no call received. I call all 10 dealers in the immediate area to see if it was accidentally delivered there - all look, but no. I drive to all the dealerships in the area looking - can't find it. I call tow service. They say it was delivered, don't know what to tell us, it was delivered by driver(s) that work night shift - it's the middle of the day for them. It's now 4:00 pm, I haven't been able to work since I've been looking all day to find the car with no success that AAA has apparently lost. I call AAA again - they say they will look into it. I ask AAA to call me within an hour with an update - never receive a call. I call tow service - they're meeting with all their drivers around 5:00 pm to see if anyone knows anything. Get a call from tow service at 6:00 pm - none of their drivers know anything, but the one who had the call had problems with his equipment, they don't know who picked it up. Eureka! I get in my car, head to where the incident occured 3 1/2 days ago and call AAA. While talking with AAA, they confirm in their records - call received, driver dispatched, vehicle loaded, vehicle delivered to dealer. I asked AAA to dispatch a vehicle to the original location - I bet it's still there. I arrive - yes, it's still there, unlocked with keys under the mat for 3 1/2 days. I tell AAA person that's FRAUD - either by them to me or their tow service to them. AAA person said he didn't want to use that word, but didn't disagree. AAA says a truck will be there in 75 minutes. I inform them that the dealer closes in 60 minutes, they will need to keep it on a lot overnight if they don't get the vehicle to the dealer by 8:00 pm. They say they will have to charge me for that. I tell them that wouldn't be a good idea. Car gets to dealer before 8:00 pm. AAA did nothing to find my car. The tow service was incompetent. I spent 12 hours doing AAA's job. My service tech (Tim at Cable Dahmer Buick GMC) got in his car looking at other dealerships (and the Quick Trip) for my car - that's quality service. I told AAA they should reimburse me for my time, they said they don't do that. I said that was a bad policy - it leaves me no option but to share this experience so others know what to expect.

Negative experience: Membership, auto, & renters for 9 years here. Dropped because Harris Felsen is incapable of reading emails, returning phone calls, or coming out of his office to meet with customers. He sucks and is the reason I'm gone for life. He cannot do his job without Vicki and she has transferred. Ron Harris is a good guy.

Fantastic experience: Have had AAA membership for years. When I’ve needed them for car trouble they’ve always been there. I’ve gotten maps and enjoyed discounts at motels too with the AAA membership.

Negative experience: Anytime I've needed to speak with someone they are not at work. I always call during week days and after lunch hours. If you want to be able to reach your agent on a regular basis look elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: I have had quite the opposite experience and wanted to take the time to note a positive. I have been a AAA customer for almost 10 years and have not had a single negative experience. They have automatically decreased my rate upon renewal of my auto policy on a yearly basis for good driving, etc. and Dave Young (my agent) has always been very helpful, polite and has provided me great customer service. I also have AAA road side assistance and have called upon them three times this year. It has value far beyond its cost. They are always very fast and efficient. I have home insurance through AAA as well and they had the lowest rate by half. I hope this helps those of you who are looking. I would highly recommend AAA for your insurance needs.
