Negative experience: I have been a AAA member for 20+ years and they can’t even get it right even when they damage my vehicle due to their own incompetence. So my car wouldn’t start I call AAA for a tow. I wait 3 days for a tow because they send the wrong tow truck without the needed dolly to my house 2 days in a row. On the third day another tow truck without a dolly comes and says i can do it without the dolly don’t worry. Proceeds to try to hook my vehicle up anyway and scrapes my bumper and exhaust pipe on a vintage Benz. So they partially pay for damages and I end up having to come out of pocket on damages to my vehicle that i did not cause. To add insult to injury after 2 months of dealing with AAA and benz body shop AAA won’t even tow my vehicle back to my home and are now telling me i have to pay a tow truck out of pocket again. So much for taking care of a valued customer smh a joke.

Negative experience: When trying to contact AAA in Lakewood Ranch it's impossible to speak with a human. Their menu doesn't include any option for "other questions".

Negative experience: This place is the worst. Run away. They lied to me three times today about help with roadside assistance. I waited 4 hours and no one ever came to help me. I’m leaving AAA tomorrow and cancelling my membership. No one there cares about their customers.

Fantastic experience: Now on the bundle package and saving more: Friendly, and very knowledgeable so quick and accurate. Wow! Hats off!

Negative experience: I have called and left 3 messages to go over my account . Kelly called me back saying she would call me back to go over my account that was 2 weeks ago. I guess they do not want to continue my business .

Positive experience: Went for insurance, they used to be reasonable, but I guess that they are no longer interested in doing business in Florida, so they quote high rates now.

Negative experience: This was the worst experience that I have had with auto insurance. I do not recommend that anyone use any AAA offices in Manatee County because no one could help me. AAA cancelled my policy, and did not appropriately reach out to me. My agent that I had worked with left the branch and my paperwork was incomplete. This was not my fault. When I realized my policy was canceled, I called the office, and the woman, Pilar, requested $350 to reinstate my policy. After paying, the agent, Pilar, said she needed management approval to reinstate my policy? I kept calling and emailing for a week. Pilar was MIA and didn’t return my calls. After almost one week, the agent reached out stating that she needed a $667 payment to make my policy active when she had collected over $350 from me. I then switched to Geico. Suddenly, the branch manager called me.I am waiting to be paid back for $350. Such horrible customer service! Stay away!!!

Negative experience: We recently booked an out of country vacation with AAA and were very disappointed in the results. The information in the resort was not thoroughly researched and it was our loss. Many of the activities and dining choices were not available due to it being off season. Other resorts in the area were not offered to us as a choice, which we were not aware of. This was poor research and planning by our representative. We will not return and suggest you find another service to book your travel plans. Tom & Myrt Grosso

Fantastic experience: It was a great experience I'll never go anywhere else. Johnny was awesome.

Negative experience: I’ve been needing an updated passport photo taken and every time I go, they say “our camera is down” “come back in 2-3 weeks maybe”. This has occurred for 3 months now, apparently they have no intentions on taking photos any longer. Even better “our camera is very touchy, it goes down easily” makes absolutely zero sense. LOL waste of time, just go to Walgreens.

Negative experience: Went to get a passport picture but their camera doesn't work. Actually I wanted to get an international driver's license in August and their camera didn't work back then either. Maybe they are not planning to fix it. It's been a long time. So not a great experience.

Positive experience: It’s hard to get a call back??? I have to run after my agent repeatedly. The fees for coverage are very competitive.

Negative experience: This rating is not against this office, but rather against the AAA emergency tow service. The service sucks 5 stars out of 5. I have called them twice in the past 30 days, and both times I have had to pay out of pocket to get my car towed. This company is incapable of providing estimated arrival times and I have waited as long as 4 hours before canceling and calling in a private tow truck to help me out. The private trucks both arrived within 30 minutes. My advice to you if you want emergency towing is save your money and pay for it yourself. You will be much better off. AAA towing is the worse company out there for customer service!

Fantastic experience: My spouse had questions about her autism insurance, and had received great help from this office awhile back, so she scheduled an appointment with the same person who helped her before. Many options were discussed, and many companies were researched. In the end, the gal assistingvher was friendly, polite and professional, and helped my spouse reduce her car insurance by 18% ! Great job, AAA!

Negative experience: I called this morning at 8 am for someone to help me with a dead battery. It’s now 1:15 and I’m still waiting. Every estimated arrival time has been missed and every time I call in I’m told it will be another half an hour before someone can get to me. Maybe AAA can be as efficient with getting service out to their customers as they are with nagging you incessantly about renewing your membership.

Negative experience: This is not a review against this office, based on the 55 other reviews that are no lower than 4 starts I’m sure this branch is capable and customer oriented. I would like to have complained directly to AAA south but I have not been able to find anyone to contact. All I needed was a tow from the Lowe’s on SR 70 to my house 2.8 miles away. I had sent a roadside assistance request via the app, easy. After the app crashing and not allowing me to track the dispatched truck, I tried to call AAA and was waiting for over an hour to then find there was an error in the details of my request. (?!?) had the form not been correct why would the submit button be available. In the past I have been called by dispatch and given great service. I had ended up contacting three reps, none of which could give details. I placed the request at 10:15 pm. I finally gave up and went home at 1:35 am. The entire time I had my wife with me because I had to arrange transportation for myself (covid protocol I get it) but to then be given the option for an unattended pickup.. the driver did call me after the tow was assigned to him... at 1:39am. There were several calls ahead of me and would be picked up within two hours. I myself am in a service industry and I understand things go sideways on occasion, but the disconnect this time was too much.

Positive experience: Excellent travel resources. While no longer the go-to spot for planning, there is nothing better than a bunch of hard maps when trip planning.

Fantastic experience: Nice ladies work the front desk. Offer free notary service to members. Also , when you buy giftcards from them a % goes back towards your annual membership fee. I always forget to utilize AAA for travel, but in previous years I found it to be cheaper deals online. But car rentals from Hertz gets uku extra perks free with the rental, ,like extra driver and carseat for kids. A reasonable annual fee for all the things you get with AAA

Fantastic experience: Had some insurance licenses notarized and the service was very fast and professional. Faster than the bank and we even had our Wills notarized here in the past since the bank won't do Wills.

Fantastic experience: I'm a Premium member and visited this office. Great service every time. I've needed items notarized and faxed fast, easy and with a smile. Very clean office. Everything I've needed from AAA.

Fantastic experience: If you own a car and have a family, my advice to you, is never leave home without a membership! I have been a member since the 80's! You never know when you are gonna lock your keys in the car, or get a flat tire! Come out in the morning and the car won't start. AAA is the best insurances in life, for when things go wrong, they will! Just like Murphy's law states. If it can go wrong, it will go wrong! I have called them for a tow many times. You get 4 tows a year! Lock out services, for when your keys get locked inside the trunk or inside your car. If you have lost your keys entirely, they have recommends for 5 star locksmiths to make a new key, at a discounted rate! Deliver you 3 gallons of gasoline, if your out of gas No matter what situation you find youself in, AAA will get you out of it, usually under an hour. Let's not forgot, they have maps, discounts on admission to theme parks and hotels. Helps you with flight reservations and car rental reservations. Plus with your membership, go in and have your important papers notarized. If I forgot anything, just call a local office and ask what there services offered are. Be sure to add your college student for the discounted rate, so they too will do the same for their family someday! Awesome Christmas gift! I do hope I have presented to you, how important it is, to have a AAA membership. To always have peace of mind, with ones busy lifestyle! Peace! ☮️ And be safe out there!
