Fantastic experience: Driving up into the northeast and realized I didn't have an EZPass, was able to swing into AAA Roanoke to pick one up. The staff there was very kind to show me all of my options for passes, explain how to register, and help me expedite the enrollment process to get access to the EZPass network quickly.

Negative experience: The absolute worst! Twice I have had go use triple A, each time I am lied to. This last time I had to sit for three hours waiting on a driver “10 minutes away” AWFUL

Fantastic experience: Several weeks ago I needed to have my car towed, and I was delighted when the young man from E&E Automotive in Shawsville, VA arrived to provide the service. He was thorough, efficient, personable, and polite. I highly recommend E&E Automotive to anyone in the area who needs automotive services and, especially, to AAA road service.

Negative experience: Ok do yourself a favor and don’t subscribe to AAA . I got a subscription last year and hoped I would never use it but I was driving on 581 in Roanoke and my car broke down in the middle of nowhere. It was about 1100 pm and it took forever to finally talk to a person and I told them I needed a tow. She took down all my info and said the would get a tow truck dispatched to me. I waited for hours and kept calling to try to find out when they were coming to no avail. I finally called a friend to pick me up at 2 am and put the keys under the floor mat. I went home and called the aaa back and this is when they told me they wouldn’t be able to dispatch a wrecker until 8 am. I’m not sure why the first woman said a wrecker was on the way but I wished they would’ve been truthful so I didn’t have to wait for 4 hours for a wrecker. They called about 9 am and said a tow truck was on the way and get this….they charged me 25 dollars saying the tow was over 5 miles so that’s extra. They towed me from the elm ave exit ramp to the Firestone on Hershberger which is 3.2 miles. When I called to question the charge and dispute the 5 miles they said the miles started at their place. Please just call your insurance company and add a tow package to it. It’s just a few extra dollars and at least they are honest. My mom used to give me a AAA card for my birthday every year when I was young and I used it many times back in the day but this place has changed so much.

Negative experience: I contacted AAA at 12:54 pm as I needed to have my car towed in Roanoke, Virginia. I was initially told the towing company would arrive by 2:20 pm. I was waiting with my car and at 2:32 I was told it could be as late as 4:30. They told me they had to change towing companies. Later they had to change companies again and it was not until 5:40 pm when the third company's driver arrived. Shannon with Fetch Towing out of Rocky Mount did a fantastic job and had my vehicle towed and I was on my way in well under an hour. Terrible customer service. I asked to speak to a supervisor and now 24 hours later I still haven’t heard back from anyone.

Fantastic experience: Went online in the AAA app to buy discounted Disney tickets. I knew ahead of time that after buying thru AAA I'd have to link the tickets, somehow, to the Disney Experience app on my phone. What AAA nor Disney tell u in their confirmation emails is HOW to do this and it isn't straight forward! Found it to be convoluted and far from seamless and I wasn't able to figure it out on my own, even after searching the web. Knew there must be others who went thru this, went to the Roanoke office for help. Got hooked up w Guss Payne who's been thru it before and he was able to save the day and quickly work thru the process and get my tickets loaded into the Disney app. Thanks Guss!

Fantastic experience: Being a member we have easy access to maps, tour books and other travel info free of charge. They schedule trips, cruises, etc. Plus AAA offers roadside assistance.

Negative experience: From RI. They are incredible in RI always reliable and on time. Have been a member for 26 years, first experience after moving to Roanoke absolutely terrible took over a full day and did not get my service done. Ended up doing it myself! I will most likely be cancelling soon after this horrible experience.

Negative experience: Okay so 2 to 3 weeks ago I sat down with Greg to talk over a Disney trip, stayed about an hour went over all the details and got a price estimate, but I couldn't book since the dates I wanted (middle of Oct 2022) were not open yet. He stated he would email me what we talked about (didn't happen) and then contact me by the 10th of June. 10th comes, nothing from him. So I call, leave voicemail and then finally email. I get an email back that afternoon, oh he needs ALL the information (dates resort etc) because Disney didn't "save it" (he wrote everything down too so I'm like what? ) I proceeded to email him all the information. He finally responded at close of business on the 10th stating he was busy all day and would have the details for me by noon the following day (today) noon comes and goes, I leave voicemail, I email. Nothing. I call and get the manager, who states she had to chase him down in the bathroom (what? What kind of business is this?) And that he had all my info and would run it and call me within the hour. Hours go by. Nothing. Finally at like 4 I get a call from another girl, Chelsie, saying they had an issue but would work something out. Uh ok? So she tells me that Disney doesn't have anything available for my dates (say what now?) Then I ask her...did you look for this year or next year. A pause. This year. I just sighed and told her I was sorry she waisted her time but that was the final straw, my trip was for those dates NEXT year. I told her I was booking with Disney. Spoiler I had booked with Disney after they missed the withinan hour window. Also spoiler. It was 200$ cheaper and AAA straight up LIED about avalible options at the park and costs of things, plus I got more info that was relevant to me through Disney. I'll keep AAA for 24/7 car assistance, but im NEVER booking anything through them again!!! Edit: emailed on 6/14 per request.

Negative experience: I visited this store a couple of months back to renew my annual membership, and the woman who handled everything was extremely pleasant. However, I've been trying for a week now to reach their office to schedule an appointment with their travel agent on some time-sensitive international travel offers I was hoping to get some information on. Nobody seems to pick up the phone. I've left two messages for the agent and needless to say, I'm not impressed with the complete lack of follow-up. I will consider modifying this review, pending further communication from their office.

Fantastic experience: I’m in Salem VA on a travel nursing assignment. My husband wrecked his motorcycle, and is also in physical rehab here as well. ( Long story, but thank Goodness he is near me!) ( no stress....) I went to a local laundromat today to wash my husbands clothes, of course, LOCKED MY KEYS IN THE TRUCK!!!!! I called AAA while clothes were still in the washer. Literally 15 minutes later, my truck was unlocked and my clothes were still drying! THANK You Soooooo Much! That honestly was the easiest thing that I’ve had to do all week!!!!

Positive experience: I'm willing to give a "courtesy 3" anticipating being able to average the 1 they get for not answering the phone or returning calls last week with the 5 I assume they will get if I ever catch someone in the office. I'm willing to try for another week before I agree with the more recent commenters that the office is no help.

Negative experience: Refused to stay open an extra 5 minutes so I could get the International Drivers License I needed before going on my trip. They saw me through the window and ignored me when I got there. As far as I'm concerned that's terrible customer service.
