Fullington Trailways: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Huge space and waiting area is very clean and big.
Fantastic experience: Parked the bus here. Super friendly and helpful
Negative experience: I just watched a Fullington bus in Philadelphia crash into a Basset’s delivery truck, and then drive off. Clear hit and run. Terrible drivers would not recommend.
Fantastic experience: Bus pretty clean but the bus driver was a little rude. The trip was delayed but we made it to our destination:)
Negative experience: Terrible. Bought tickets on Megabus which they switched to Fullington. Lost 8 hours of the weekend trip because of this. No information whatsoever about parking in State College. Website photos *appear to have plenty of parking but those spaces are for PSU and you will be towed. Asked George inside the terminal for help, he was extremely rude and very unclear. Friend went to clarify parking info and same person, George, was again very unclear and extremely rude when he didn't have to be. Driver on first day was also quite rude, making derogatory connotations about gender identity, among other things, including screaming at people waiting in line.. However, driver on return trip was on time and polite. Fullington needs to inform passengers ahead of time about pertinent information, and hire respectful employees. I Do Not recommend.
Negative experience: I had a 6am bus. The driver didn’t show up until 6:20am. The building doesn’t open until 8:30am so everyone was standing outside in 15° weather waiting for the bus to show up, some people waiting for over 50 minutes. No information was sent about a delay. Ridiculous to make people wait outside so long in such cold weather with zero communication about what’s going on.
Negative experience: Had a terrible experience with them, will definitely not use this service in the future. -bus nyc to Pittsburgh. We left nearly an hour late but okay, traffic happens - no one to help with bags. Megabus always was so helpful, but the big burley fullington guys will just watch the old people and others struggle with their bags. Kinda gross to see their lack of support. - they kicked us off our bus in state college and squeezed us on another bus that was already quite full, due to this we were treated like lepers by the people already on the bus Very cheap business practice for fullington We also had to transfer our luggage- I had to *crawl into the luggage compartment below the bus* to get my bag, while the fullington staff just watched. I later heard the fullington staff loudly laughing about how upset all the passengers were (obviously?) Terrible service. Shocked that a company can get away with this while charging $100 a ticket? Never again
Negative experience: Do not make any bookings or give your business to this service provider. They are unprofessional and do not care about the safety and wellbeing of passengers, not even children. We booked a trip that was supposed to leave from State College to Philadelphia and when we showed up to take the bus (30 mins early) we were told by the admin behind the counter that 60 passengers purchased tickets for a bus that does not exist. And that we will not be refunded, but there is a bus leaving the next day at 9 that we can get on. Like the buses don’t have a limited number of seats and others who booked it. And when we called customer service it went to a number that doesn’t answer. And the voicemail box was full. Disgusting. 60 passengers are stranded as I write this review. Shame on you.
Negative experience: My bus to king of Prussia was delayed, drivers were nowhere to be found, signage was inconsistent. Overall just super disorganized and not worth it.
Fantastic experience: The mega bus stop has moved to here, when I called the person over the phone was super kind and informative.
Fantastic experience: BEST THREE HOUR RIDE EVER!!!! The dude from Texas is THE BEST DRIVER EVER!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic experience: We used them for both the bachelor/bachelorette (joint) party and the wedding transportation from/to the hotel & venue since it was about a 30 minute drive. Everything was on time and handled well and Linda who helped me book both items was responsive and helpful. Would use again if the need arises.
Positive experience: i mean it does the job. right on time for my trips. the drivers are not very welcoming which makes the bus rides kind of awkward.
Positive experience: Great driver and a pleasant ride
Fantastic experience: Clean and safe. Wifi available on bus. No tvs on the smaller buses
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff. Ticket agents go above and beyond
Fantastic experience: Good
Negative experience: Rude service, late bus, they made us buy tickets when we didn’t have to! Never doing this again!
Fantastic experience: Fullington Trailways really came through for us when our son, 15, was to attend skateboard camp at Woodward. With the recent COVID-19 concerns, Woodward decided to suspend their normal shuttle van service. As a minor, we could not arrange for him to take Uber or Lyft. With one week until camp, we were scrambling for options. Cassandra F. and Edward M. at Fullington were a delight to do business with. Within 24 hours our son's round-trip arrangements were made, and his transfer from the airport to camp went off without a hitch. On Thursday we learned our son pulled a muscle at camp, and needed to return home a day early. After a few phone calls and texts, everything was taken care of. If you too are in need of private transport to get your child to or from Woodward, I have nothing but good things to say about Fullington.
Positive experience: Just. Called. No. Service
Negative experience: Way too expensive!!!
Fantastic experience: Fullington provided transportation to the Penn State women's bb game on 2/9/20 for the pink out. Our driver, Jerry, was awesome. He adorned a pink ribbon and other embellishments and was the BEST driver I ever rode with. Thank you Jerry and Fullington for an awesome experience!
Fantastic experience: Took a bus to NYC with part of a group and it was a great experience. The bus driver was very professional and nice and even let us know when a good photo op was coming up. Only downside was the outlets did not work and the wifi was absolutely non existent.
Fantastic experience: Great company.
Negative experience: If there were such a thing as a negative star, I'd select it. Fullington oversold their bus from State College to Harrisburg on Friday, August 20th 6:15 bus. Although, how thoughtful of them, they gave students the option of not getting on it because they'd either have to stand or sit on the ground. AND the next bus isn't until the next morning. What great options. So Fullington does this, so then they can put 100% responsibility on the customer, "He boarded the bus knowing it was oversold." This way, they are not accountable for refunding the money because, well, he didn't have to ride it.They reserved a certain time bus; it isn't okay to have to take a bus the NEXT MORNING!!!!!!! This is an absolute outrage and blatant lack of concern or regard for customers. College students, find alternative transportation, because as long as you are Fullington's captive audience, they will continue to treat you as if you are animals being transported, and not give any thought to your time, safety, and well-being. SHAME on them!!!!!!
Fantastic experience: Fullington Trailways was very helpful with providing a shuttle service for our wedding guests! They were very responsive, helpful, and thorough with renting some of their shuttles for our wedding. The prices were a great deal for what we were looking for. The drivers were very helpful, the shuttles were very clean, and the guests thoroughly enjoyed their experience! I would recommend this service to anyone that is looking to have a shuttle service for their guests for a special occasion!
Fantastic experience: Fullington provided wedding transportation for our guests. They were very fairly priced, quick to respond to any questions/concerns I had, and were flexible in a week of adjustments we had to make to the schedule. From what I heard the driver was friendly and, most importantly, got everyone home safely.
Negative experience: Poor service and riders poorly treated, poorly maintained facility, benches are dangerous and full of splinters Greyhound has the State College franchise and subbed to Fullerton. Nobody enforcing the contract terms.
Fantastic experience: Fullington provided transportation for all of my wedding guests as well as my wedding party. We used bus shuttles for guests to travel to and from the hotel and reception venue and each trip was seamless! We also rented a trolley for the wedding party. Our driver was very nice, friendly and accommodated all of our needs. He drove us around campus to take photos in multiple locations! Fullington really aided in making our wedding day very special!
Fantastic experience: Great company. Quality service with friendly drivers.
Positive experience: They do have great service , drivers are very friendly and accommodating . I say this because I am handicapped . Would recommend .
Fantastic experience: Great service will go on a bus again
Negative experience: They parked one of their buses in the middle of the road (e park avenue) during friday rush hour traffic, blocking both lanes and causing a huge traffic jam. (4/26/2018). I think it was bus #928 or o24? First 2 digits were 92. Find a better place to park your busses that isnt across a main road during rush hour traffic (blocking both lanes). Noticed it at 5:20 pm, not sure how long it blocked the road for.
Negative experience: Too expensive, why don't you lower the price so more families can go on trips.
Fantastic experience: Very helpful! Courteous and easy to work with. Professionals.
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff!
Fantastic experience: Friendly, helpful drivers, they help me with my heavy bags, loading under the bus. And they have helped me with my carry on, getting it to my seat and helping me settle in the best seat for me. They are curtious, respectful, and make the ride very enjoyable. Thank, you Fullington!
Negative experience: I am not a customer but I seen one of a company's driver in action at NY City. the incident occurred on May 11, 2018 around 10 Am the bus # BN-04916 Penn. The driver with passengers was driving recklessly going in and out of traffic to get a headway. He spit on my hood of the car, through a "Bird" a few times and used "F" word. Imagine that with this type of a driver no one is safe riding or driving beside of this company.
Negative experience: Absolutely horrible! I have taken this bus several times now, and the first time it was severely late, I was understanding because of traffic. However, for the last couple of times, this bus has been many HOURS late, due to mechanical failures and connection failures. This is too often to be chance, they are not keeping their promise of good service to their customers. Additionally, their refund policy is draconian, calling the time tables "estimates that cannot be guaranteed" -- how is a 3 hour window an estimate?! Ridiculous!
Negative experience: Wasn't able to print my ticket. Brought photo ID and had the PDF on my phone of my receipt hoping to at least have a friendly conversation with the driver to see if they could make an exception. Bus driver immediately took a very hostile and loud tone towards me. Will certainly not be riding with this company ever again.
Fantastic experience: I am honestly surprised to see the poor reviews on here. I have taken tours with Fullington many times over the past 10 years, including some tours with people who have disabilities. I have found the staff to be courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. I highly recommend them.
Negative experience: Absolutely terrible. System is really unorganized. A girl and I were supposed to be going to just Harrisburg at 930, and I guess there was a mess up with a bus to Baltimore or DC. So instead of getting another bus for the people traveling to Baltimore and DC, they decided to board the people on our Harrisburg bus first, leaving minimal space for Harrisburg people. I got on the bus because I had a flight to catch at the airport, but my friend was left behind. They didn’t even know when the next Bus to Harrisburg would be there. Just terrible.
Negative experience: Absolute garbage bus service. It feels like they are stealing my money for the service they provide. With every ride the bus driver either is going off the road the whole time or the bus breaks down. The bus has absolutely never been on time for me either. If they weren't the only bus that I could use for my route I would absolutely never use them. I feel as though they should definitely refund me for all the times this bus has been late for me, it's false advertising. I don't have my CDL but if I could buy a junky old school bus I could provide better service than these scum bags.
Negative experience: If I could rate this lower I would. This bus carrier is absolutely terrible. Whether from State College to Harrisburg, or Philadelphia to State College. The employees don’t know what they’re doing, the buses are never on time. The bus driver I had on my return trip was so rude and disrespectful. Please never use them!
Negative experience: Cancelled a bus with zero notice. Said they called, which clearly did not happen. Not even an email was sent out. It's ridiculous. Employees at the station are also rude and untrained.
Negative experience: Absolutely terrible, take a mega bus instead and save yourself the headache!
Negative experience: The two stars are for the friendly front desk staff at the State College, PA bus stop, for the convenient weekend times (5pm departure on Fri and 7pm return from Harrisburg), for the convenient location a alking distance from the university campus, and for the fixed, regardless of how late you purchase a ticket unlike other competitors. Disclaimer: This review is specific to the State College, PA to Harrisburg route; it is possible that the service is better elsewhere. Otherwise, for the 20 or so times I have used the service, some complaints include the return bus from Harrisburg always departing half an hour late (so why not change the time to 7.30pm?), no AC most of the time in the summer, bus drivers are impersonal and don't update passengers on timing, a $4 online purchase convenience fee each way ($8 fee for a return trip, so be sure to buy tickets in person), $5 printing fee if you accidentally print your to and fro ticket double sided, and be sure to carry full winter gear between Dec-March because the bus once had no heat in the dead of the winter so all passengers had to brave the cold. Also watch out for being charged twice; the ticket machine sometimes does not print the first time and if your card is swiped again, you get charged double. If I had not checked my credit card statement, I would never have noticed. Use this service only if you have no choice.
Positive experience: Easier access to campus. Stop for greyhound buses too
Positive experience: Average bus dtop
Negative experience: For a place that serves so many students, they really don't offer a quality service. Tickets are overpriced ($50 for one way from State College to King of Prussia for Spring Break), and buses often leave late from the station. It's also outdated to require paper tickets when other services like megabus allow you to use your phone to show your ticket. Really disappointed that so many students are forced to use this service because it takes them closest to their destination.
Negative experience: I have taken this bus at least half a dozen times, and I have only had ONE ride where the bus did NOT break down. One of those times the bus actually caught on fire. If it was possible to give this company 0 stars I would. The absolute worst experience every time. The only reason I choose it is for convenience, since it picks up and drops off next to campus. It's the most expensive option, and they even had the audacity to charge me an extra $5 to print my ticket out at their office after I was unable to print it myself. I hate this company, this experience, and if I had any advice it would be to use megabus- it may be off campus and a longer ride, but with all these breakdowns you'd be able to get to the West Coast in a quicker amount of time than to Philadelphia with Fullington.
Positive experience: Good service.
Negative experience: Ac didnt work, driver did not know where he was going.
Negative experience: Feels like the facility and its services have not undergone any sort of changes or improvements in the last 5 decades. Tickets are overpriced, the fee for switching ticket times is $20 which is absurd. They also don't let you use your phone as a ticket and instead charge $5 to print out a piece of paper. I'd rather walk than use this service
Positive experience: Pretty cheap vs some other busses, close to campus
Positive experience: Fullington seems to be a smaller company that doesn't do to poorly by providing service from State College to NYC and Harrisburg. They seem to have some deals with Greyhound. Most of their connections are not as fast as Gotobus (which is run by some crazy people with very lax security standards) and not as cheap as Megabus. However, they offer a deal where you get a free rise if you use them regularly (I think your sixth ride to NYC is free). I always use them if there timing is convenient for me. The bus is usually not as full as Megabus and the drivers are nice.
Negative experience: 2/2 buses I've taken have broken down and my trip has had 3+ hours each time added onto it.
Negative experience: Hate how the bus is said to leave at 5:45 and I'm still here 30 minutes later waiting to leave, and this happens every ride I have had.
Negative experience: I traveled with Fullington Trailways twice within the last couple of weeks- to get to and from State College and King of Prussia. Going home, the bus was 45 minutes late to even show up at the terminal, so many students including myself were standing outside waiting in freezing weather. When we finally got on the bus, we drove about 10 minutes and the bus broke down and we ended up at a Sheetz waiting for over an hour for another bus to show up. It took 2 extra hours for us to reach King of Prussia. Coming home, I had a bus driver named Graffius Clark. It took him an extra hour to get to State College, but not because the bus broke down, but instead he stopped at a gas station for 20 minutes to get himself some food leaving all the passengers on the bus confused as to where he went. Not to mention he clearly did not know how to get to State College and barely knew how to drive and control the bus. He almost missed the exit for State College, nearly running into the railing. He could barely navigate to the two bus stops on campus. I would not recommend this company.
Fantastic experience: Love
Negative experience: I have had very few good experiences with Fullington, and you're much better of just going with Megabus. Fullington buses are often late by over 30 minutes to depart, and their inexperienced drivers have even gotten lost on the trip adding an extra 90 minutes to the ride. It's also frustrating that their "express" trips have more stops than any other Pittsburgh-State College bus. Lastly, after getting 5 bus tickets (which are generally more expensive than competing bus companies) and trying to redeem it for my free ride, the bus station refused to redeem my card. Tl;dr: Go with megabus for your ticket because they're cheaper, have more experienced drivers, and don't have bad customer service.
Negative experience: The rides are fine, inexpensive, and quick. But the staff usually keeps customers in the dark while they wait at the station. The staff is never in any sort of uniform and generally do not act very professional. It's often a frustration. One time I was put onto a bus and realized there wasn't any open seats so I had to get back off and wait another half hour for another bus to open up. Apparently their employees don't know how to count how many people they put on. Overall, your're kind of stuck because these guys have a monopoly on King of Prussia trips, but I do not like doing business with them. They also do not offer refunds which is BS.
