Fantastic experience: On our trip to Peru, the hotels were all very good, specially in Cusco and Macchu Pichu. The tour guide in Lima was excellent, we had a great time. Negative experience: I’m very disappointed with the service. My mother purchase tickets to go to Israel and the war started. They didn’t want to provide a the credit. After many back and forth they decided to give her money back less a fee.

Cairo I personally didn’t care for but No fault of Mena travel due to I chose to go to Cairo the Hotels were 4/5 star hotels they were all very nice . Negative experience: It has been the worst experience of my life and unfortunately my first trip to Europe. I chose to travel with Mena Travel-Mapa Plus thinking about the comfort and safety that this tour could offer me and my family and it turned out to be a nightmare. The hotels were supposed to be of superior category 4 and 5 stars, and the service in them has been of the worst quality. The package plus is rubbish, the meals have been of the worst quality, even threatening our health because we got food poisoning at the hotel in Granada and after that the trip turned into a disaster. Several people on the tour got sick, not just me and my family. Given all this, there was a lot of inconsideration and disorganization on the part of the guides and the agency, who did not even care about our health and well-being during the days we traveled. I do not recommend the use of this type of services for anything or anyone, I will never take a tourist package again for this reason. I think the agency should compensate us for what happened.

Fantastic experience: Just returned from our amazing vacation in Italy. We visited Milan, Venice, Florence, and Rome. Ceci at Mena Travel Agency arranged everything from the flights, train transfers, tours, car service to hotels. The timing of everything was impeccable and it’s attributed to her proper planning and knowledge of the area. I will use Mena travel again and I highly recommend them for your future travel needs.

Negative experience: Never Again! The customer service is horrible. They waited until that last day to email us the travel package. The hotel, restaurants and tour chain they work with in Europe are horrible. The premium food package you pay a lot of money for in your package is disgusting. The tour guide is never on time.

Negative experience: My Grandfather has been a loyal customer for over 20 years. It’s a shame you didn’t offer a refund when he fell sick with Covid and couldn’t go on his trip. Even half would have been fair, but nothing? Shame on you for preying on the elderly.

Negative experience: I went during the off season to avoid the crowds. I specifically asked the agent for a five star hotel or the likes. First, got the rear seats in the plane. No leg room and no reclining of the seats. Got to Venice, the transfer were good. Got to the hotel, at best a 3 star, rooms were $100 a night on Expedia. Traveled to Florence by train, got to the 5 Star hotel. It looked like a hotel on 8th Street. I checked Expedia, it was $49 a night. The room had no AC and it was dirty. I opened the window and there was drunks signing all night. I noticed that Mena doubles up the tours charges and gets you in their kick back budget hotels. Do the itinerary yourself. I spent close to $10k for a week and could have done it myself for $4k or less. If you want a horehouse experience, use Mena Travel

Positive experience: Tuve una mala experiencia viajé a Europa central y no coordinaron bien la recojida en aeropuerto asi como tampoco la recojida para el retorno. Yo había pagado por esos servicios y aún asi tuve que volver a pagar un taxi y de emplear largas horas de mis vacaciones para que me arreglaran el horario de retorno. Tambien pagué por categoria superior que es 4 estrella y en uno de los hoteles me alojaron en uno que no llegaba a las 2 estrella en Cracovia.

Negative experience: My experience with Mena travel was not really good. But let me clarify , mena travel is the agency, and really all preparation was good in papers, however they should know better the tours company where they are affiliated . They recommended a company Special tours, which I think is one of the worst to travel in tours . First the name of the tour is called Italia Monumental (Tentacion), with option all included. So I paid for the tour with all included, but I found out in Italy that I need to pay for some of the tours which I thought was included at least according to the book and the agency. Anyway, service for transportation from airport to hotel was very stressful , the driver no even say a word. Now in Rome we meet the tour guide ( I hope the company put nice tours guide. I don’t going to mention anything but to be a tour guide you need charisma and good personality . However most of the city tours were great guides. Now, food (breakfast ,lunch,and dinner), some are averaged (breakfast ), but lunch and dinner were terrible . There was a lunch in the Vatican that believe me the food I give to my dog is better. All passenger in the bus agree with me. So like I said in a scale 1 to 10, I give a 2 to 3. I don’t want to talk about the hotels because I will be writing all day. This tour company (Special Tours) have to improve the accommodations and food so people will start promoting the good services. And believe me, when you say all inclusive have to be all inclusive or if not explain to the persons what is included and what is not included. Something very important is to get hotel in very good location, and not far from the city. For Mena travel I should say that need to improve in knowledges about type of tours and was in included and type of accommodation (hotels). Thanks to let me write a comment , but when is good or bad service I like to inform people for future reference .

Negative experience: We are not doing business with Mena Travel again. The Italia Bella tour was a total fiasco. The group of spaniards that were part of the trip share our opinion and made the trip more pleasant.The tour guide Maria was very unprofessional. She was always listening to music or talking to her friends on the phone. If you ask her about any place she would tell you that she explained that already. She was walking in front of the group and didn't care about old people left behind crossing dangerous street. Also, Mapaplus advertises 2 start hotels as four start hotels. You better bring your shampo and conditioner because no one hotel offered it and clean the bathroom before using it. Mena travel and Mapatour or Mapaplus are selling a chimera.

Negative experience: Mi nonmbre es Hector Payares, soy medico cubano y trabajo actualmente como Nurse Practitioner en esta ciudad donde vivo con mi familia. Este “REVIEW” que voy hacer, es justo y necesario como medida profilactica a mis muchos amigos y familiares en Miami y otras cuidades de los Estados Unidos…Sencillamente, para que no tenga la misma mala experience que tuve con “Mena Travel”. Son tantos los desagravios con este viaje que “Mena Travel”me vendio como un paraiso y que en realidad no vale ni la mitad de los miles de dolares que me cobraron. La razon por la que escogi Mena Travel es porque hace mas de 10 anos les compre un package a “Las Vegas “ y en honor a la verdad todo fue positivo. En esta ocasion a Punta Cana la Sra. Judy (Staff) empezo muy mal por no darme todos los detalles del viaje. Tuve que pagar mas dinero por una cancelacion de unos de mis hijos. Ella me explico que en esos casos la lineas areas tiene un cargo. Lo entendi, sin embarogo, yo no sabia nada y ella estaba supuesto a educarme con eso o cualquier otro imprevisto (porque los imprevistos cuestan dinero!). Por supuesto, termine pagando cientos de dolares mas. No podia hacer otra cosa porque ya tenia invertido dinero en el viaje. Me siento timado por lo que “Mena Travel” me vendio y para no extenderme, porque son muchos los malas experiencias; quisiera preguntarle al Sr. Pedro Mena, que de paso es un individuo educado y aparentemente de gusto refinado, si el va con frecuencia a la “Punta Cana” que el tanto promueve? La razon de mi pregunta es porque aparentando ser una person tan sofisticada y de buenos modales no creo que le guste ir a este lugar; al Barcelo Bavaro Palace infestado de moscas y malos servicios, donde la masividad al estilo cubano de la Cuba Comunista pone por el piso la “Calidad”. Solo por mencionar algunas dificiencias terribles de un turista que trabajo duro todo el ano para disfrutar con su familia : 1-Nadie me dijo en Mena Travel que estabamos supuesto a llevar pantalones largos para entrar a esos restaurantes de malisima calidad y poca higiene, donde la comida es de la peor, con moscas y sin aires acondicionado; donde mi esposa termino enferma despues de comer una cena inmunda en el “Hoyo 19 Restaurant”(Los camareros no tienen ideas basicas de servicios, HORRIBLE!); 3-Termine comprando unos patalones carisimos ($150 x 3 males +18% de impuestos) y de malisisma calidad en la tienda del Lobby, solo por una falta de informacion de la Sra. Judi; 2-Mi habitacion tenia serios problemas con el aire acondicionado que no enfriaba lo suficiente; por suerte, teniamos un fan en el techo que amortiguaba el calor intenso en la noche para poder dormir; 3-La limpieza diaria de las habitaciones ni hablar, de la peor; 4-Solamante me pude tomar un mojito el primer dia que llegue, el resto de la semana cada vez que preguntaba, no llabia llegado “La Yerba Buena” necesaria para ese coctel; 5-En relacion a la seguridad, el chofer del Bus que nos llevo a la isla de Saona y los Buggies manejaba como un loco poniendo en peligro la segurida de mi familia y del resto de los turistas. Es obvio que estaban mas interesados en terminar el dia lo mas rapido posible con los “TURISTAS TONTOS” en vez de hacer algo profesional. Hector R. Payares

Fantastic experience: We've booked several trips with Mena Travel, and we've always been happy. But they really blew us out of the water with our recent trip as a family of four. They really know how to accommodate families with small children. We were nervous about traveling overseas with our 1-year-old, but our agent Eddie made sure to dot all i's and cross all t's, so when we arrived we had nothing to worry about. We highly recommend Mena Travel, and will book with them again.

Negative experience: If you want to save yourself time, money and lots of headaches, I suggest you find yourself another agency, or prepare the trip yourself. Don’t let their initial friendliness fool you, as their services are incredibly dissatisfying. I have never seen such disorganization and so many errors on a task. They initially gave us one quote and as time went by they kept increasing the costs; even worse, after paying more than expected, they did not deliver as promised. To name just a few of Mena Travel’s mistakes, they messed up on departure times, overcharged our credit card (to later process a return, which was a hassle), booked a cruise for a 7-month pregnant woman (and when you log onto the cruise’s website it clearly states that women past 24 weeks of pregnancy cannot travel) so we had to re-arrange the trip, booked a room with 2 twin beds for a pregnant wife, her husband + a toddler (how were we supposed to fit?), booked a city-tour we did not request. When complaining to them about their services they threaten to cancel the entire trip (only weeks before departure). When we arrived to our destinations we continued to be disappointed, we agree with (user) Arturo Ayala on the hotels specially. We tried to be as patient as possible, and let many of these mistakes go by, as we understand a 25-day trip to different cities is not easy to plan –that’s why we hired a travel agency on the first place-, however after too many errors and lack of answers we were fed up and had to write this review because we really hope nobody else has to go through this when trying to plan a memorable trip.

Negative experience: We were very excited when we made the arragements to travel with Mena Travel. Unfortunately, we did not have experience traveling through an agency and we based our decision on the rating of the internet. I will start my saying that the sales representative at Mena Travel lied to us and sold us a traveling package that was nothing of what she had described to us when we arrived in Europe. The hotels she said were rated 4 and 5 stars; the hotels to say the least were a complete disappointment and a health liability to our family. We spend an average of 10 to 12 hours on the omnibus more time than visiting any of the sites in Spain, France or Italy. We highly recommend you do not ever use Mena Travel for your traveling needs in particular vacationing with your family.
