Negative experience: When I needed AAA the most, they left me stranded (60-year old woman), alone on a highway with my 85 pound ebike that had a flat rear tire miles away from my home. On 7/19/2025 at 6:36pm I called AAA roadside to tow my e-bike, insurance which I paid for since I purchased my e-bike about 6 years ago and at the agent request sent them an email with the e-bike specifications and price at that time. Every time I spoke to an agent since then I was assured that I had roadside assistance for my e-bike and that they would provide towing if it broke down. During that 30 minute call on a Saturday evening for the first time in years, the agent who said she spoke to her supervisor said I needed motorcycle insurance. I assured the agent I was told by every insurance agent that I had roadside coverage for my class 3 ebike. That agent then transferred me to another agent who said the same thing. They made no effort to help me, despite being a 10-year AAA member and never made a claim. However I did use roadside assistance for my 1998 vehicle. I was left walking my 85-pound ebike home for a couple hours at night and then a guy with a truck helped me for the last mile. The next morning I called membership but couldn’t connect to a live agent, so I called the insurance side of things. For the next half hour the agent said she’d do a review and then when she got back on the phone, she said her supervisor said to contact Roadside Assistance. The agent transferred me to another agent and she rudely hung up on me when I asked to speak to a supervisor. I called back again and finally spoke to a supervisor who said I needed motorcycle insurance. I questioned him why every agent I spoke to since I insured my e-bike assured me I was covered for roadside assistance and the first time I heard I needed motorcycle insurance was the evening before when I was stranded and needed help. He said to call back the insurance side of things, despite previously telling him that I just spent a good part of the morning speaking to them! AAA is a fragmented, unreliable and unethical company who will scam you for your money and then doesn’t provide the help you paid for when you need it. I felt like a disposable ping pong ball that they smacked around from one department to another and no one took responsibility to rectify the issue and provide me a refund for the years I paid to have my ebike insured for roadside assistance!! Ten years of being a AAA membership plus, auto and home insurance, paying tens and tens of thousands of dollars only to have no loyalty in return and in fact getting stranded in a great time of need for services I had been paying for! AAA is an unreliable, despicable company with fraudulent business practices when it comes to getting the help that I paid for!!!

Positive experience: About 15 years ago I went through AAA to buy a car and had a wonderful experience, so once I decided on a new car to buy, I figured I'd go through them again. I interacted with Rob almost exclusively by text, despite having left voicemails that I thought would warrant a phone discussion. Anyway, he found a car and we agreed on everything. Everything was great when I picked it up, though he noted that he didn't have the keys for the crossbars that came with the vehicle. He said he'd get them from the dealer and bring them to my house. Well, after asking him about it for ~6 weeks via text, he finally texted me back and said he was leaving AAA, but gave me the dealer's info. I'm still going back and forth with the dealer to get these, but just thought it was really crummy to leave me in the lurch like that. He had clearly checked out of his job already. It was disappointing to have this experience after having such a good experience previously. I'd use them again, but be warned - if you can't get the AAA broker on the phone, it may not be a good sign.

Fantastic experience: Super helpful in obtaining international drivers license. They took the necessary pictures there and were patient while filling out the paperwork. Easy process. In and out in 10 minutes.

Fantastic experience: Rob Morrow, who is an Auto Broker with AAA Colorado, is the go-to if you want to purchase a new or used car. Rob is responsive, knowledgeable, informative, and friendly. And most important, he found the best new electric car we wanted for us at the very best price!

Negative experience: Forget trying to speak directly with a representative on the phone. Customer service is terrible. I was assigned an agent when purchasing a bundle of policies. Have nor been able to speak to her in more than a year.

Fantastic experience: We bought our last 2 brand new cars through this AAA office! In Colorado, AAA is registered as a car dealer. They can sell you almost ANY brand by bringing demos you request to their office. You don’t have to go to a real dealership through the entire process, buying, financing, selling your used car, and getting help syncing your tech with the new car. Fun, personable, knowledgeable people to work with for Disney World discounts and advice as well.

Negative experience: Broke down at 4pm and was back at my car a second time at midnight to lock it after learning the 2 hr pushbacks that made them tell me at 6 to leave my key under the mat and leave it unlocked (don’t ever do this, that agent was wrong and you can lock it and leave unattended and they can unlock and tow) was actually going to be, well maybe never. 8am and car is still not towed, though aaa woke me multiple time through the night (after I got home at 1am from dealing with locking my car) with text and phone updates I requested not to get. Their automated system is terrible, and their people seem helpless to do anything. Go with your insurance roadside, aaa is no longer any better than them.

I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I was impressed with the luggage, maps and all the travel accessories you could think of- and that is not even why I was there : ) I was helped by Karen, who went above and beyond. She was efficient, friendly and helpful. She made something that could and should have been tedious very pleasant. I walked out with a smile and everything I needed. She is a gem!

Fantastic experience: I locked my keys in my vehicle and they sent a locksmith who was on site in about 15 minutes or less and he got my vehicle open in a couple minutes max!

Negative experience: My credit card was compromised so my payment did not go through. When I called to update I was told that AAA no longer offers a month-to-month plan and had to pay for a full year and if for any reason I had to cancel my membership I would not receive a refund. I have never heard of such an unreasonable plan! AAA is a wonderful organization that has gone off the rails.

Negative experience: Not sure what I’m paying for here, this is the third time they’ve asked me to find another tow service for my car total joke. Do Not waste your money on aaa.

Fantastic experience: Once I figured out how to enter the business I was amazed at how big the place was. They have tons of travel stuff including luggage, travel accessories and of course MAPs! Melissa was very friendly and knowledgeable and gathered everything that I could possibly need for my road trip. She also snapped a passport photo for my passport renewal. Great place. Great people!

Positive experience: These nice folks were friendly and efficient in providing me with passport photos, application forms and useful advice. "Be sure to use black ink!" Same with the international driving permit or IPD. I was all set and out the door in less than 10 minutes. And my photo turned out great! WAY better than my Colorado DMV pic. Hard to believe, I know.

Positive experience: I have called AAA multiple times for help with my old Jeep. They are always extremely friendly and helpful when I call in. My only complaint is that some service techs can be rather demeaning when they come to check out your car. I knew that my battery needed to be replaced after it died in a car wash. I called AAA and the service tech showed up, looked under the hood of my car and said “well you clearly didn’t wash under here so it not anything electrical”. As it turned out, low and behold, I needed a new battery. BUT he refused to replace it because it wasn’t “that bad”. My car literally died again 20 minutes later and I had to get my battery replaced the next day. It’s a shame because that would be another $135 in revenue for AAA but it went to someone else instead

Fantastic experience: My best investment over many years!!

Negative experience: Beware, DO NOT USE THEM FOR A PASSPORT PHOTO. They do not know what the regulations are for an acceptable photo, they are not trained in any way with a camera. The photos they take are likely to be rejected by the US Passport Agency. Spend the extra $3 and get it at Walgreens where you will get a decent photo that meets all the requirements. Honestly AAA has no business offering this service. It’s extremely irresponsible of them. You will waste your time and money and may end up without a passport!

Fantastic experience: Nancy Reorda is a fabulous travel agent for AAA in the Boulder store. We had heard about her through friends and we can now see why. She has bent over backward for our upcoming Portugal trip. She was able to find a reasonably priced flight with a 1 1/2 hour layover which is unheard of. She has 30 years of travel agent experience and it shows. If she can't find the "right"answer to fit our needs, she digs until she can. We trust her and look forward to booking many a future trip thorough her.

Fantastic experience: Peter helped us get a new car at a great price. Best deal we had seen on our own was $3k more. To add to that he helped us with all the paperwork, walked us through what to expect and showed us the car - that he brought to the office so we didn't even have to go to the dealer. Even a last minute color change didn't phase him. We'll come back next time we're ready to buy.

Negative experience: You need to provide a ticket number so people can sit and wait and be called when it's their turn. Worst then DMV

Fantastic experience: Every car owner in Colorado who drive car in extreme weather condition should consider getting a AAA membership. They tow your car in extremely cheap price. Getting AAA membership is cheaper than have your car towed ONCE in any other towing company.

Negative experience: Normally I would rate AAA 5+ but today I have a real emergency & I've called numerous times to get a locksmith. Lost key & just got out of hospital. Have a place to go but AAA isn't answering & phone keeps hanging up after I've been on hold. Please answer.

The employees that work there are friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous. I go in there several times a year, and I am always grateful! Fantastic experience: Had purchased an item @ AAA for vacation/trip outside of the US. During the trip one of the seams came unsewn. I was in a panic because I no longer had my receipt. The friendly receptionist looked up my purchase using my AAA card - found my purchase - & gave me a new product in exchange for the defective one. Easy - Peezy! No Problem!

Fantastic experience: I have always had great experience at the local AAA office here in Boulder! Now I have recently gone through a divorce, lost my job & was forced to sell my home so I've decided to take a 3month trip to Europe (where my daughter lives & is due to have her 1st baby soon) & everyone I've encountered at AAA has gone above & beyond to help me on all levels of this grand & daunting adventure!

Fantastic experience: Perfect solution to my needs. Needed maps which were unique and were provided immediately-free with my AAA card.. Also 2 Christmas gifts and a backpack like suitcase on wheels, all at reasonable prices. Very courteous and patient salesperson Am from Ohio and like this AAA office equally well.
