Fantastic experience: Southwestern Travel Group did an amazing job organizing my groups' trip to WGI World Championships in Dayton, Ohio. It was my first time flying with students. It was most of my students first time flying and being away from family for a week. We had an amazing time doing a variety activities before our performances. It made the kiddos feel like home. I know that when we travel we want to feel away but for us we wanted comfort and that is exactly what they gave us. Learning about the state through the educational experiences helped us adapt to the new environment and appreciate our home in Cali while adapting to the temporary home away from home. They recommended arriving early to acclimated to the climate and time difference. It is something to consider with a first time group performing for a big event. They were very flexible with the trip up until the last two weeks because of the competition schedule and venue placements. Our tour guide, bus driver, and hotel staff were very informative and sweet! We had a great time!!! I would highly recommend traveling with Southwestern Travel.
Fantastic experience: Once again, Southwestern Travel helped facilitate a great experience for our students. They pay attention to details. We were blessed to have Mira with us again this year. She is the absolute best. Many of our students listed her as one of their favorite things about our trip. Fantastic experience: The Conference Center continually exceeds expectations for us year after year. The space is updated, sleek and always clean. Parking is ample and easy, and the Conference Center manager, Donna Pursley, may have a bit of mindreading ability, because she takes care of everything, before you even have a chance to ask! Don't hesitate to have your next meeting here!

Fantastic experience: Working with Southwestern Travel made taking our group of 19 students and 5 adults to NYC a breeze. Devon took such care in planning all our activities and really worked with us to create the best trip for our group. He was so responsive and in constant communication, from planning to the actual trip to always making sure our needs were met. Our tour guide, Grace, was more than we could have ever hoped for. She kept us all running on time, made sure all our accommodations were met, shared so much knowledge of the area, and had a positive energy that was truly contagious. Working with this team really allowed us to fully enjoy the trip with our students because we felt confident that they had all arrangements under control.

We are known for excellent customer service and caring deeply about our customers. We can’t fix the past, but you have our commitment to that each traveler will be fully refunded for the trip and our legal team will file the proper complaints against the bus company involved in the service. Our team worked tirelessly into the early morning with many other nationally recognized motorcoach partners to find a replacement bus. Unfortunately due to the motorcoach shortage and driver shortage we were unable to do so. Our team provided a hotel for the group for the evening and the next morning safely returned the group home. Again, we know that we can’t fix the past, but we will do the right thing by refunding the full trip cost to all travelers. Please accept our sincerest apologies on behalf of everyone on the team.

Fantastic experience: Greatly planned trip, we didnt need to worry about anything.
Negative experience: Booked a school sponsored trip to Washington, DC with this company. Very very disappointed with the “tour guide” we were provided. He did not guide whatsoever, had really no information to provide to the students during the entire 5 day trip, and acted more like a tourist himself. Our teachers & bus driver had google fun facts to share along our journey. The tour guide did not even have the money available for the kids to eat until the 2nd day of the trip. Our school was also told certain museums were booked & then when we got to DC the tour was not actually booked. And to top it all off this travel agency booked our flights out of one airport & then booked our return flight home into a totally separate airport!! We had to shuttle from one airport to another just to get our school bus back!

Negative experience: Lack of integrity, communication and professionalism by Tyler Van B. Didn't follow thru with booking a feasible travel package in time and even though he admitted that he made a mistake he will not take accountability and do the right thing by refunding my money. He is hiding and avoiding this issue which is what people do when they feel guilty. He hides under a CYA legal form that we all are forced to sign and agree to many times with many companies. Just.Yuck. Lack of morals. Thievery. Don't really know what he even does for this company besides cheat people out of money. He wouldn't search and book the trip while on the phone. He always had to get back to me with a proposal from the office elves I suppose. I could go on but you get it. Enough with even "small business" taking advantage of people. Enough.
Fantastic experience: Amazing trip organized by SWTG. Everything went smoothly, I always knew what was planned, and it was overall one of my favorite trips ever. And that's saying a lot from my history of travel.

Fantastic experience: Tyler Van Bussum, Travel Associate with the Southwestern Travel Group, was amazing. He was very responsive, reliable, detailed, offered great ideas, and very resourceful. He even communicated with me several times during non-regular business hours (including weekends) in order to get certain tickets purchased as soon as they went on sale, along with finalizing other details. He helped me with a problem at hotel check-out on a Sunday morning by speaking to the hotel manager regarding our payment. He checked on us during the trip via text and was genuinely interested in how everything was going. He did everything he said he would do to help us along the way. I truly feel that he went above and beyond for us and because of this, we had a GREAT trip! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Southwestern Travel puts a lot of time and care into helping plan your trips. Even if there is a time crunch (which would stress most people out), they work hard to make sure you're taken care of. With all of the unknowns that Covid brought on for everyone, they still do all they can to care for you amidst all of the changes and uncontrollables. It's been a difficult year for both individuals AND businesses, but they stay positive through it all.

Fantastic experience: I went to Puerto Vallarta in Mexico with Southwestern Travel Group, and it was by far one of the best trips I’ve ever been on. Never a low moment, always had something fun to do whether it be an excursion out, an activity at the resort, or dancing the night away downtown. Plus the freedom to go off and find things to do around the area was a blast, and easy to do when being such a great vacationing spot. It’s great having someone else do all the work so I could really just relax and enjoy my time with friends. Can’t wait for my next trip!

Emily Weber has been so fantastic and accommodating to all of my sporadic needs and constant changes in relation to upcoming travel throughout this pandemic. She's done all of this with such a pleasant demeanor and I know it's been challenging. I can feel the genuine sense of care and customer service through her emails. I think I found a travel group agency.

Fantastic experience: I have done several trips through Southwestern Travel, most recently a trip to Universal Studios for my 8 yr old. Our travel agent, Emily, was fantastic, helping us navigate everything from Covid-related issues to dealing with last minute airline changes. I cannot begin to describe how nice it is to have someone else dealing with all the details that go into planning a family trip. Emily is very quick to answer back with any questions and we will continue to plan all of our trips through her.

Negative experience: Like many unhappy parents, my child's school Disney trip was canceled due to covid-19. And like all the other parents, we were only refunded 75% of our money. So who is pocketing the $200 we're not getting back? Given the unprecedented times everyone is going through, how is this justified? We need this money as I'm sure all of the families do. My child's teacher stated that the school will never use southwestern travel again... I hope all of the schools affected do the same.
Negative experience: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS TRAVEL AGENCY. Among the other negative reviews here, I too was a parent that booked a Disney band trip through the school; the school chose this joke of an agency. The trip was scheduled to begin on March 23rd. Disney World shut down due to the Covid19 pandemic and naturally, the trip had to be cancelled. An employee at Southwestern named Denny had assured the school that parents would receive a full refund, minus the $50 deposit. A few weeks later, parents were then informed that we would only be receiving 75% of the $795.00 trip, due to "vendor fees and Disney fees". When I emailed Terri Rickard asking for a breakdown of those fees, she refused to answer any of my questions directly, refused to provide the alleged "fees" (stating that the vendors and fees were "confidential"), and was condescending in her email responses. Flash forward to now, I did indeed receive a refund- approximately 50%, only $409.32 of the $795 that was paid. This company is, by far, one of the most unprofessional and dishonest travel agencies I have ever dealt with. I understand that the pandemic has hit the travel industry hard, but to give working parents the runaround, refuse to return phone calls and voicemails, and then give LESS than the 75% is absolutely disgraceful.

Fantastic experience: I had the opportunity to travel to Masatepe, Nicaragua with Trey Campbell in December of 2017. We were privileged to be hosted by iTeams down there for a little over a week. Room and board was included, and the meals were absolutely delicious. I am very pleased with Southwestern Travel for it’s good quality, good Christian values, professionalism and responsiveness. It is very affordable and Trey was very patient with me when it came to breaking up the payments over a manageable period of time. I would strongly recommend Southwestern Travel to anyone who enjoys fun, interactive, group activities!
Negative experience: Our high school planned a trip to Disney, to take place at the end of March 2020. Disney closed, trip was canceled. Understandable. We paid a $50 non-refundable down payment. They are only offering us 75%, ~$595, of our total paid. When asked for detailed billing for the rest of the money, I was told their contracts with the bus company, Disney groups, were private. So I reach out to a supervisor, by email and by phone. No response. I’m out $200 instead of $50, with no idea where the extra money went. Extremely disappointed. Also, not done fighting.
Negative experience: This company should not be used for group travel. Our band trip was cancelled due to Covid-19. They only refunded 75% of the money. Families are going through a lot at this times and it isn’t right that they profit at our expense.
Positive experience: We had a Summit which was put together at the last moment - three months out - due to another venue pulling out - Southwestern Event Coordinator Iriina was hands on and took care of our request. It is a great venue to host an event and the caterers provided us with an extremely fabulous and delicious breakfast buffet. Coffee and water were replenished by Southwestern staff. All in all, the venue was great. The only drawback was the vendor space but we determined there were some options for the next event. Thank you Irina and Kristin. I would highly recommend it and parking is free and ample space.
Fantastic experience: Emily with Southwest Travel Group was amazing to work with. She planned our family trip to Disney this summer . She was very knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations on where to stay, what to eat, and must do attractions. She sat down with us before we left and made sure all of our questions were answered and everything was set for our arrival. There were no glitches! We were all able to relax and have fun thanks to Emily!

Negative experience: Never again will I allow a travel agency to do anything for me that I can do myself. My stress level was higher instead of lower and I could see no savings over doing everything myself. Poor communication was the main issue, in my opinion.
