AAA - Gastonia

Fantastic experience: Beth at AAA Travel in Gastonia is amazing! I go to her for every trip I take. She takes time with you to thoroughly plan and think through where you want to go and prioritize what you want to see. I highly recommend her!

Negative experience: Gastonia Location is a joke, went there a few minutes Ago to get some prices for a vacation we are planning. However the people who worked there did not seem interested is helping. They stated they had a meeting so they couldn’t help. We have booked many trips through AAA in Gastonia. However we will not be be going back. No wonder this location has fallen off, their employees don’t care.

Negative experience: I don’t know the location of AAA. It was several months ago on a Monday night. Nevertheless, my experience was awful. It started with a phone call from my husband around 10:30pm saying his truck stopped and wouldn’t restart. I was able to get to him around 11pm. I called AAA and ask for a tow. At 12 midnight AAA had not arrived. At 1am still no AAA. I called to report that after a tow request at 11 and that no assistance had arrived. It was explained that all vendors were busy but that our request was “in line” and help would be there soon. During the wait I received “2” automated calls saying that an apology is extended, they are busy, but help is on its way. After an hour or so and still no AAA I decided to call to local tow companies on my own. Was told by a couple of companies (they wished they could though) their staff is “tied” up and they were not able to help. Around 4am I got 2 different AAA phone persons who assisted me with starting over with my a new tow request. At 4am we received tow assistance. I’ve been with AAA for over 20 years and this is the worst service I’ve ever received from them. I am thinking of changing to another company.

Fantastic experience: Darrell (from Matthews Towing and Automotive) met me and my daughter earlier in the week to tow our vehicle. It was a cold and rainy night on a busy street in Charlotte. He was so nice, kind and respectful. He called a couple of times (during rush hour) to let us know how far away he was and to ask exactly where we were. When you car has died in the road and you are sitting there in the cold wondering how long it's going to take, that means a lot. He also called to notify us once the car was dropped off. While we were waiting for service, another tow truck came up beside us (driver was nice as well) stopped to make sure we had help coming. Darrell is certainly an asset to AAA and to Matthews Towing! Extremely satisfied, excellent service.

Negative experience: NOT AN AUTO SERVICE LOCATION. I Googled “aaa car care belmont nc” and this Gastonia location popped up. They had many travel reviews and some car reviews. Hence, why I waited till 8:30 am for them to open and make my call. That’s when I found out that they cannot help me ;(. Steele Creek location is further away from me but opened at 7:30 so I could have had help earlier. Sep 2021

Positive experience: Took care of my needs. Only thing is...they told me it would be about 2 hours. I called Hampton's in Lincolnton and they said they would come right over. AAA may need to communicate with them better. Thank you

Negative experience: The people that AAA used to book our flights are morons. Evidently having a layover of 1.5 hours is long enough to make an international flight. I always question about the layover time and was told each time that "it will be okay." I have multiple complaints that need to be discussed.

We didn't have to worry about anything and she even got us an upgraded room at no additional charge. I highly recommend working with her to make trip planning, especially international, much easier.

I simply tell her where I want to go and what I want to see/do and she makes it happen. I have had such wonderful and memorable experiences thanks to her expertise and attention to detail.

Very knowledgeable of the places we wanted to visit, and also has tips for us. Would recommend for anyone! Around 4 or 5 European vacations and a Canadian vacation. Negative experience: We went through AAA for a Disney World trip. We couldn't even get into the parks and our meal plan was all messed up. If you want to go to Disney just do it yourself. These people don't know what they're doing.

Negative experience: I have been a member for over 35 years and recently switched to the member ins group for the vehicles and home, I have been left hanging with only a two week notice of cancelation due to older plumbing. No help, no suggestions, no consideration and just told they do not have any other options. Im am thinking AAA is no longer the value it used to be. AAA BYE!
