Negative experience: If you are a physically challenged person, or traveling with someone that is, please think twice about booking with this agency. They have no experience with this and do not know how to accommodate such people. We got our airline tickets a week before our departure even after booking with Dar El Salaam months in advance, so we didn’t have time to arrange appropriate seating and needed accommodation for a physically challenged person in the airplane (airplane logistics is up to you). They also didn’t know what they were doing for ground transportation either. They expected a physically challenged person to get on a bus with 5-6 flights of stairs. Honestly, if you really have to go with them, talk about your needs a head of time and MAKE SURE you have contact person and name for ALL services offered just in case. Do not blindly pay if anything seems confusing to you. You have every right to confirm your understanding.

Negative experience: Expensive and unorganized. They booked wrong flights not aligned with our package and then corrected flights last minute and gave us extremely long layovers to cut corners. They are here to maximize their profit. Very unorganized. You’re better off waiting and going directly thru Nusuk not via Kidana / DST.

Positive experience: Dar El Salam did a great efforts during the reservation. After that, no one you can reach out to follow up with the Ticket seats upgrades, special accomodations wheelchair for my wife, specialty after I called the Airline carrier and they said contact your agency, we don't have anything about your tickets. I called the office in NY twice, I sent email, but no response. The group chat is closed also. Thanks Jim Adam

Negative experience: We had a disappointing experience with DST Umrah especially with the management that handles in Makkah and Madinah. Their customer service is no longer as reliable as it used to be. Our issues and conflict were completely ignored, management failed to respond, did not address the issue and discrepancies in their statements. This is particularly challenging for families with children or elderly who rely on timely personalized assistance, on site support and clear communication. DST used to have good service but sadly that is no longer the case. Such a rip off unworthy hype, don’t recommend DST especially for families.

Negative experience: You are better off managing your travel arrangements on your own. Terrible customer service.

Fantastic experience: My family did go for Umrah in November from Cincinnati. My highest regard and respect to people at Dar El Salaam for making everything as smooth as humanly possible. Everything the coordinators/managers work in the back ground is simply amazing. I travel a lot like 40 to 50% for work international and their cost package is very reasonable. I especially want to recognize Sr. Najma Q. for her great work when there was some issue with Turkish Airline cancellation and rebooking. She guided everyone very professionally and calmly... worked 24/7 to ensure all pilgrims were taken care for everything. Only suggestion I would give is to provide options with Emirates and Qatar Airlines even though it would cost bit more but much better Airplanes and much comfortable ride to Saudi Arabia and Back to USA.

Fantastic experience: I just booked a trip for my son and I, and I must say that sister Aisha Hafeez has made this entire process a cake walk. I will absolutely write another review when the trip is completed إِنْ شَاءَ ٱللَّٰهُ I am not sure if you are allowed to choose your own agent when booking a package, but I highly recommend sister Aisha. Everything that felt nerve wrecking to me was dissolved in assurance, comfort and a trip booked easier than a basic domestic get away. I trust this company and will recommend them the same way they were recommended to me.

Negative experience: What a joke of an travel agency. My daughter went on the Turkey trip and had a terrible experience booking with them. First, they don't return emails or calls. We tried to book a connecting flight from Houston to Dallas and they said they couldn't do that. What kind of a travel agency can't book a flight??? We wound up booking the domestic flight separately and that became a hassle because checked luggage has to be picked up and re-checked. Horrible experience. Will never use them again.

Fantastic experience: I was fortunate to go for Umrah again, it was a little rushed. Visited Al Aqsa . Overall trip was very nice but exhausting. Darrel Salam needs to add additional days for the 3 day package and should use Saudia. Just be prepared for Israeli immigration. I would prefer Medina and Makkah Umrah pilgrimage and go to Al-Aqsa when it is in Muslim control.

Negative experience: Darrel salam has a good reputation and I am extremely disappointed by the fraud committed by your company. You applied for tourist visa instead of Umrah visa to you can make more money. When I asked you why I didn’t get a Umrah visa, you lied and said USA citizens can only get tourist visa. Is this the way you do business. I will call every mosque in New York and tell them about this fraud. I will leave a review about this fraud and also will file a police report about this fraud and lie unless you fix my visa to Umrah visa and in the future you need commit to stop defrauding your customers. Totally unacceptable. Also if you don’t fix it , I will leave a review on Facebook and google about your fraud and lie. This is totally unacceptable

Negative experience: DO NOT use them! They kept $900 of my money and refuse to give it back! They said they would refund me over 4 months ago and anytime I contact them they ignore my requests! I’ve made over a hundred calls, emails, messages and they just ignore or give the run around. Please beware! UPDATE: I filed a complaint with BBB to try and get my money back but they completely ignored their attempts to get in touch! I will never use them again! Please save yourself from the same experience!

Positive experience: Overall was a great journey, just a few suggestion if possible; being more clear on Missing any of steps while performing Umrah and what damm or sadqa needs to be paid. Taking people for Mazaarat in Mecca, it was too quick and the Microphone was not clearly heard. It is better to go to three places rather than driving by so quickly without knowing what was there. I missed all the sights in this trip and couldn’t hear clearly the guide who was talking on microphone. I would suggest to get the same head set for anyone who is in charge of guiding or talking about each places. Thank you!

Negative experience: horrible ,horrible and horrible. we travel from St louis for umrah. they charged us $21000 for three people with 3rd class service. 10 hrs lay over on jeddah airport before departing for Medina than from mecca station to hotel took 3 hours because we all were waiting for buses. Infact travel time by taxi is hardly 15 min from train station to haram. on our way to USA 8 hours lay over on doha airport. hotel they provided were not good. We were traveling with our 74 year old mother and it was so un comfortable for her. If there is option of zero star i will give them zero star.

Fantastic experience: The travel agency was very helpful. The staff at Madinah, Mecca, & Jeddah helped me with all of the basic necessities such as transportation, my luggage, and of course equipping my vaccination ID. The trip was very well organized and everyone there is extremely good-hearted. Muhammad Asif helped me a lot with the things listed above, he made sure the trip was organized and went right as planned. Sheikh Omar was also another individual who helped the group with the passage around the Umrah, we never ran into any trouble, it was easy. God bless.

Negative experience: Was hard to even get them to reply to an email. I was told twice that info will be sent to me, and still nothing. Now no one is picking up. Very disappointing experience so far, can’t keep your word when it comes to an email? You need to remember what product you provide and who you are accountable to.. def don’t want you involved in my spiritual experience.

Negative experience: It was the worst experience ever for my elderly mom traveling with Darrel Salam as a matter of fact it was terrible,so unorganized,unprofessional basically they don’t care if you live or die they got your money that’s all they care about,honestly I won’t recommend it to no one.

Positive experience: I had a one week trip to Egypt including visits to cairo, Aswan, Luxor and a 3 day Nile cruise booked through Dar es Salam travel. It was an excellent experience and the credit goes to our guide Mohammad Salah. Overall it was a 4 star experience. There were a couple of issues which need attention from Dar es salam. The cruise ship maintenance was poor with leaky and substandard bathrooms. We were promised to be in Moven Pick cruiseship at the time of booking and paid for it but found ourself in Hamees operated by Moven pick and that made a big difference. Would not expect that from Dar es salam. The hotel in Cairo where we stayed first night was substandard and I would give that hotel a 2 star rating.

Negative experience: I was not too satisfied with Dar El Salam services. From the start, when trying to make arrangements for a customized tour package, the agent I was working with didn't give me the opportunity to consider several different travel arrangements as she was not open to reworking and representing different travel options. When I asked for a second option, the agent told me "don't waste my time." It's customary when working with travel agents that there will be some back and forth in reworking the plan/schedule to meet your travel needs. After I pushed back, she then appeared be more open to offering a second travel option. However, this was disappointing because after that incident, I didn't feel my questions for more details were welcomed. As such, I didn't receive the optimal package I was hoping for. Also, when we arrived at the airport in Cairo to meet our driver/guide, we were picked up by a completely different company called Memphis Tours. However, at no point did Dar El Salam tell us who to look for at the airport, or what sign they would be holding. This was poor business practice-- when going to a foreign country, you're always warned about being safe and extra cautious, and to not go off with any strangers. We were approached by someone with a sign that said "Memphis Tours." This person stops us and says I'm picking you up. I was initially thrown and then asked what names he had of the travelers and he couldn't tell me. That made me suspicious. So then I asked how he knew it was us, and his response was cryptic. At that point, we had to have this person prove that he was commissioned through Dar El Salam to pick us up. He pulled up an email/text that had all of our information in it. But at any rate, for our safety, we should've been told by Dar El Salam what company to expect for pick up. From Cairo, we traveled to Istanbul. Both the tour guides in Cairo and Istanbul didn't display a certain level of social awareness of the their customer. The trip should be designed to serve the needs of the traveler, but it was if the traveler was serving the needs of the tour guide. At times, we felt hurried through different tour sites leaving little time to observe on our own, talk among ourselves as travel companions and take pictures. The tour guides had a standard narrative they offered during the tour and it didn't seem like they were willing to deviate from that plan even when us as travelers had different interest. When we would ask questions about other things not covered in their standard narration, our attention was brought back to what the tour guides wanted to cover and not what we as travelers wanted to hear about. Unfortunately, this made the trip a little less enjoyable because I couldn't take in the scenes at my leisure or hear information about the things I was particularly interested in.

This agency has knowledgeable staff and their mission is to provide the best service possible, by caring staff members of their team. From planning, flights, hotels, etc. The best and Only the best Alhamdullia. The Sheik are learned and very knowledgeable in Islam, a real treasure. My life is better and I am striving to be a better person, because of my experience of being with knowledgeable leaders, Mashaallah. I had the pleasure to be with Sheik Dr. Reda Bedeir and Sheik Saad. Recently young Sheik Ahmad, a warm, thoughtful and knowledgeable leader, thanks Dar El Salam. I also did a third country with them, Turkey and Dubai, amazing. I am grateful for the five stars hotels, delicious breakfast, snacks in the room, and the coordination of the staff to make my trip successful and easy for me, Alhamdullia. I highly recommend this agency and definitely plan to use them again.

Negative experience: Dont buy any tickets from this is worst We purchased ticket from this travel agency take a was my family a flight a connection connecting flight from Dubai to Karachi and when my kids ask for drink they were asking for money because they say on their flight they have to pay for any snack or anything this is I never anything like that in my life now my family's coming back on September 3rd I just find out that they are separating my family from sitting arrangement I have 4 Minor kids that flying with their mother they put everybody separate on a plane they telling me that I purchased a ticket for the flight but I did not purchase any seats I pay $8000 for the ticket and this is what I'm finding out if 18 hour flight and my kkods and my wife they have to Sit separate, I spoke to the airline they're telling me that it was the travel agency for their this something wrong in there and this is why I'm facing this issue so my suggestion is do not buy anything they can to rip you off I will be following a lawsuit tomorrow as soon as possible for that.
