Acendas Travel

Fantastic experience: We have used Acendas Travel for several years and they never disappoint. We worked with JoAnn Stover to plan most of our trips. Planning a trip with lots of details is very time consuming. The thing we love about JoAnn is that she does it all for us. She will ask us what our needs and requirements are, and she makes it happen. Anytime we email her with planning concerns, she responds immediately to address whatever we need. The most recent trip we experienced was a seven-night European cruise with two prior days touring Rome. JoAnn arranged all our transfers from the airport to the hotel in Rome, from the hotel to the ship, and from the ship to the airport at our disembarkation. Everything went as clockwork. Also, the trip was more than AMAZING! Thank you, JoAnn! You're the best and we will definitely use Acendas and you again.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Chris stuck and Acendas Travel. Chris made everything easy in booking our trip to Italy. He arranged our hotel, our rental car, and our travel insurance. When the airline changed our return trip, he jumped in and got it all squared away. You can bet we will use Chris and Acendas again!

Fantastic experience: This was our second cruise with Acendas Travel, a land tour up to Denali Park and 7-day cruise down inside passage of Alaska to Vancouver. Alaska is beautiful and our accommodations made by JoAnn were perfect with magnificent views. I have about 600 pictures so too many to add but memories forever!

Fantastic experience: I won a trip to Vegas for the WVC Conference this past weekend. They had me use Acendas to plan my travel. Kristen was my agent and she was amazing! She helped me pick the perfect hotel, answered all my questions, and was just a quick email away if I needed something. Highly recommmend!

Fantastic experience: We have enjoyed and benefitted from Colleen Campanella's experience and skills with overseas travel to collaborate and book the perfect Irish holiday. She provided lodging options and secured a rental car for our three-week holiday in the Emerald Isle. It was a great get-a-away, and we highly recommend using her for prompt service and guidance for first-time overseas travelers.

Fantastic experience: JoAnn was fabulous to work with and I've lost track of how many times I've already encouraged others to book with her. We spent three weeks in Europe, jumping around to different countries and even stopping off halfway through to attend a friend's wedding. JoAnn handled all our requests and transportation needs with ease. It was great to have someone else thinking about museum tickets, boat tours, layover times, etc. JoAnn thought of all the details you think you could handle on your own if you wanted to but honestly it was nice to hop on a plane and know we were taken care of. We seriously could not have had the amazing time that we did without her help.

Fantastic experience: Colleen was great to work with! She customed designed our UK trip so we could see the major sites along with visiting a couple of family historical sites. The planning leading up to the trip was well done as were all of the instructions before the trip. All steps of our trip went perfectly with Colleen's design and attention to detail. She answered all of our questions at each step of the process. We can't say enough good things about Acendas and Colleen. Thanks to all for a great trip!

Fantastic experience: Tracy was nothing but fabulous when planning our trip to the Dominican Republic. She responded to my emails in a timely manner, answered all the quesions i asked (a lot ), & gave us great recommendations for our all inclusive resort. The resort we chose (secrets royal beach) was absolutely wonderful, & our vacation couldn’t have gone any more smooth. Tracy made sure we had all of our tickets & documents neededed to travel. We will definitely be using her again for our next trip.

Negative experience: Never used a travel agent before. Probably won't use this one ever again. I had to pay someone to book a room for me. and they want money from me ahead of time to plan a European vacation...I don't think so.

Fantastic experience: JoAnn Stover of Ascendas travel did an amazing job of planning our cruise. She covered every detail that needed to be covered. The Celebrity cruise ship Apex was incredible and had every amenity we needed, and then some. My wife and I had a wonderful time cruising to Belize and several Caribbean locations. If you plan to cruise, call Ascendas and let JoAnn plan your next vacation.

We had a group of 16 traveling on different days and from different locations and she made sure we had all our questions answered. The Pocket Traveler app was very helpful and easy to use as well! Fantastic experience: JoAnn at Acendas Travel is amazing to work with! We have now used her expertise in planning a small personal vacation (The Haven in Cancun - amazing resort btw), as well as our destination wedding in Punta Cana, where she helped us to secure a wedding date with the resort and booked the travel/stay of our 30 guests! Our travels that she has arranged have been very smooth without any issues. All of our wedding guests said that JoAnn was kind , easy to work with , and made the whole process stress free! Having our loved one's international travels in the hands of an expert gave us huge peace of mind. My husband and I highly recommend JoAnn for any travels you have! We will absolutely be working with her again for our future trips if she will have us! :)

Fantastic experience: Kim helped us plan our dream honeymoon to French Polynesia. She was professional and knowledgeable. It was our first time working with a travel agent and it’s hard to imagine planning a trip without one now. We look forward to using her services for our future vacations.

Fantastic experience: We reached out to Colleen at Acendas upon recommendation of a friend when we began to plan for our honeymoon. She was very thorough and made the process extremely easy. She gave us several, well-researched destinations that fit within our budget and we ended up staying at Secrets Cap Cana in Punta Cana. The resort was simply fantastic as well as our experience working with Colleen. We will definitely be using Acendas to travel in the future!

Negative experience: I had reached out mid November and had been transferred to a non-local agent of Acendas. I had provided all information for all travelers as asked, and even attempted to pay my up front deposit. I was never followed up with, or contacted. It’s been 2 months now and I have no information or pricing for anything. It felt much of the weight of planning the trip was put back on me. I am a paying customer, and was hoping for a great experience as I’ve never used a travel agent before. It was the 3rd travel agency I’ve contacted in the Kansas City area and the only one to respond on the first phone call. Once I got transferred it went down hill. I’m sure they are great as the reviews reflect, but the agent I had was non existent to working with me. I wish I could have had the same experience as other customers.

Fantastic experience: I have been using Joann Stover for my vacations for several years now. When it was time to plan my destination wedding, I knew this wasn't her area of focus but I trusted her to help me pick the perfect location and she came through! Joanne helped me with all of the details and kept me calm throughout the process. It's wonderful to have a travel agent who has been to the places that she is recommending for you.

Fantastic experience: Justine at Acendas Travel did an excellent job of scheduling our European trip. She listened to our requests and aligned the trip accordingly! All the bookings were in-line with our requests and the Arts & Leisure Tour services in Europe were exceptional! They made every event within the trip extra special!

Fantastic experience: I called when they were very busy so there was a long wait. However, I was able to leave a voicemail and they got back to me later. Booking my travel was very easy; the agent walked me through the whole process and helped me compare options over the phone. After confirming everything, an email with the travel itinerary was sent to me. The email was very helpful because it included hyperlinks to go to websites where I could track my flight(s) and check in before arriving to the airport. When one my flights was delayed (the airline’s fault), I was able to call Acendas’ “emergency line” and get ahold of an agent within the minute. They were able to ameliorate the issue very quickly and get me back on my travel plans. I highly recommend Acendas for travels as I will be looking to them in the future.

Fantastic experience: I will be recommending Acendas to anyone planning a big trip for the foreseeable future. JoAnn was incredibly helpful and responsive when it came to our Honeymoon trip to the Caribbean. With all of the COVID restrictions we had a lot of questions and she was patient and insightful with all of her responses. She booked us an incredible trip and did all of the leg work so my wife and I could focus on planning our wedding. We will no doubt be using them again for future trips.

Fantastic experience: We have used Acendas for multiple trips to Mexico, Europe and St Lucia. Every time we have been so glad that we did. From recommending accommodations we wouldn’t have known to find that far exceeded our expectations to setting up transport and drivers to make our travel and experience in foreign countries easy and worry free. It’s much more of a vacation when someone who knows the area handles the details. We don’t plan vacations without Acendas. I highly recommend them them to anyone planning to travel!!

Fantastic experience: A very good company to take care of your travel needs. I've used Acendas multiple times and have had a great experience each time. Their knowledge and experience has made my travels very easy.

Positive experience: We never considered using a travel agent to travel internationally, let alone assisting with a destination wedding. Whether it was unfamiliarity or a stigma, we always thought travel agencies costed money. That's not the case with Acendas, whom we discovered through a presentation in Kansas City. They are local to KC and have agents that specialize in different regions and events. We had the pleasure of working with Kimberly who specializes in destination weddings, and the area we were interested in getting married: Playa del Carmen. Kimberly was very helpful in driving the discussions with an international resort and navigating policies and communication with them. She always conferred with us before agreeing on something and was a great advisor throughout the process. But why 4 stars? It might seem minor to others, but we discovered a major resort change (a good change) via social media and had to bring it to Acendas' attention to accommodate the change. Our stay at the resort would have been very different if we didn't bring it to their attention. In the end, everything was awesome, but we shouldn't have been the ones to bring up this major change. We will probably use them again for another international vacation and highly recommend them for an international wedding.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I have worked with Scott Mccubbins on several of our vacations over the years. He has been OUTSTANDING to work with- We also know Brent Blake both personally and professionally - He is truly a class act!! Thank you Acendas travel for all you have done for me and my family over the years!!

Positive experience: Kim Shannon was great to work with. She listened to our ‘must haves’ and ‘nice to haves’ and booked a fabulous resort at a great package price.

Fantastic experience: Cynthia Riggins with Acendas helped up plan a 16 day cruise to the Panama Canal, from start to finish. Cynthia is a great wealth of information and was so very helpful. Had a great time and looking forward to our next trip!

Fantastic experience: Our Viking River Cruise, Waterways of the Tsars, Moscow to St. Petersburg, was fabulous & JoAnne @ Acendas made sure everything went smoothly. Russia was immaculately clean with beautiful flowers everywhere and the people both on the boat & in the cities/towns were warm and friendly!!

Fantastic experience: Lynna Goldsby has planned four trips for me now. The last trip was a Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona to Venice with a three day add on in Barcelona and three days added at the end of the trip in Florence. Every day was planned with a private tour guide that was knowledgeable and and friendly. I would recommend Lynna for you next travel experience. She’s the best!

Fantastic experience: I've worked with Lynna for years now.. 3 or 4 trips-- and she is wonderful to work with. Went on my first European river cruise last year and this year went on a cruise from Barcelona to Venice. She got us private tours for each day of our cruise and was very knowledgeable on how we can get the most bang for our buck. I would definitely continue to use Lynna and Acendas for travel in the future

Negative experience: Cruise with 17 was handled very poorly by our Acendas travel agent. She confused our names and addresses on reservations, prevented one of us from getting off the ship due to passport misinformation, incorrectly scheduled hotel accommodations, had to remind her of departure date, no follow-up after trip. I spent at least ten hours working with cruise line and agent directly to rectify many errors. Our agent was not interested in helping us, making planning an absolute nightmare.

From Rollie and Mark in the restaurant, Bob on the top deck, and everyone else working on the ship, to the wonderful, fun people we met, it was so much fun. Visiting the various cities and towns was educational and inspiring. My favorite trip ever!

Fantastic experience: My recent trip to Israel and Rome was an excellent experience. Acendas worked with a fantastic company (ground operator) in Israel and I can tell you I felts safe the entire time and I learned so much about history because the guides were terrific. I also use Acendas when traveling to Europe including France and Croatia. I called Acendas while in Croatia at the last minute to get a rental car and my rate was much better than what I could find on line. I appreciate the after hours service and certainly the ability to work through flight and travel delays with the help of travel advisor like Acendas vs booking on line myself which allows me no benefits. I honestly believe booking on line is a mistake because when things go wrong you have no options for resolution.

Fantastic experience: The experience was so simple and better than I could have hoped for. This was my first experience using a travel agent, so I didn’t know what to expect, but JoAnne Weeks did a fantastic job! She was able to me help plan and book a last minute trip, and she went above and beyond! I’m not sure where I’ll travel next, but I know I’ll be using Acendas!

Fantastic experience: We just returned from two-weeks in Italy and Portugal and I can't imagine a more perfect trip! Every hotel that was chosen by Acendas (and their partner Europe Express) was absolutely wonderful, and it seemed we were also given special rooms/upgrades like a rooftop suite in Rome, a suite in Lisbon when we paid for a double room, etc. I am sure this was due to the relationships of the travel partners. Private transfers were also always timely and a wonderful welcome to a city, and the tours that were planned were led by experts (art history P.H.D. at the Vatican for example). Carol, our Acendas agent, was knowledgeable and patient in helping us decide how many places we could visit in two weeks, and in juggling changing airline schedules. I won't do another big/international trip without the help of Acendas!

Fantastic experience: We were planning a trip to Hawaii and wanted to visit Maui and Kauai. Planning car rentals, hotels and flights between islands was becoming a task and a very expensive trip. I called Acendas and spoke to Christine Miller. It was a pleasure working with her and our vacation was perfectly planned and flawless. Her quote was actually lower that the quote we received from the website we used. I will, without a doubt, contact Acendas for my future trips and would recommend them to everyone.

Fantastic experience: Planned an amazing trip to Slovenia, Croatia, and Italy for my wife and I on our first anniversary. Just for what we saved on flights alone it was more than worth it, but what made it great was having all the transportation and lodging already lined up, with top-of-the-line hotels everywhere we went. And the fee they charged was way below what we expected!

Fantastic experience: I worked with Dee Bauer when planning a Hawaii trip to surprise my girlfriend with. I wanted to plan a trip for the two of us that would set the right stage for me to propose to her, and I'm happy to report that he said yes under a waterfall. We're planning to get married within the next year so now my fiancé and I are looking to do a destination wedding that I'll certainly be looking to Acendas to help us plan.
