Fantastic experience: Moved down to California a few months back and needed to register my car. Easiest registration experience of my life. Thanks to both the extremely knowledgeable woman at the front desk and Keaton who helped guide me through the process quickly and effortlessly. Glad I am a AAA member and will be recommending this branch to friends and family going forward. Wonderful!

Negative experience: Hit or miss with customer service. Some of the people have been there for years and they know what they are doing in regards to customer service. The last 2 people I had the misfortune of being directed to for insurance information were HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL...rude and borderline incompetent.

Negative experience: During my 35 year membership, I've rarely used any services. I wanted to try the travel service, but couldn't see without an appointment. I arrived for my appointment, and after waiting 30 minutes and complaining several times, I walked out. Cancelling my membership.

Negative experience: DMV services. Out of state title and registration to be transferred to my name here in California. We are now well into 7 months since the initial process and my paperwork has been returned by the DMV 3x already- the DMV also will not tell you what all is wrong at once! First time, i wasn't charged enough for the black/yellow legacy tag. I was also a victim of title fraud and didn't have the newest title (not AAA-DMV's fault. i got investigators involved and got it sorted out pretty quickly). Mailed it all back- check and newest title. Second time, the inspection report was not completed by the AAA-DMV officer. Third time the inspection report listed incorrect vehicle type and the smog certificate was missing (the AAA office gave it back to me instead of mailing it in!). I now have to get a reinspection to verify the vehicle type and correct the paperwork. Just beware when using this office for NON-STANDARD DMV services. If it's a straight forward transaction, this AAA-DMV may do fine but if it's not (and unfortunately, you will not know ahead of time) they'll cause you a huge headache and will not be able to help correct the mess they've made.

Fantastic experience: My AAA membership is such a no brainer every year- there is always something that comes up a few times a year that would take us a full day at the DMV but is resolved in under ten minutes here- and that doesn’t even factor in the reassurance of roadside assistance! Everyone is helpful, there has never been a line, and they are very nice! Love this AAA location, thanks AAA Del Mar!

Everyone was so helpful and friendly..only one person ahead of me.They followed all covid protecall.Felt very safe inside.. Took just minutes to get tags. The lady that helped me was so cheerful and had me laughing.I love that I can get my tags at AAA instead of long lines at dmv..this is just one of their many sevices.I have always had a great experience here..highly recommend AAA

Fantastic experience: This is for DMV service and the driving school. Extremely helpful staff for DMV services. Painlessly registered a boat and trailer here. For driving school, Donato is awesome! He made my son feel comfortable and my son is an excellent driver! Passed BTW test easily. Very prepared and comfortable driving.

Fantastic experience: Awesome place to register a new car. Never takes more than 15 minutes. Don't forget... you can order custom license plates from here also, but you have to go in person (can't do it online).

Fantastic experience: Great place to go for DMV issues like handicap plates, car registration, maps, and other car-related issues. There is usually a line but it moves quickly and the staff is very helpful. It's a thousand times better than going to the DMV. Easy to get to and lots of parking in back where the entrance is.

Fantastic experience: Super quick service with very nice people in a quaint little office. I needed new plates after mine were destroyed on the highway, the ladies were rather cheerful even for a dull day.

Negative experience: 6/28 - horrible customer service by Dawn in DMV services. First of all I'd been trying to call for over an hour. No one was answering the phone. It rang and rang literally 20 x's or more. I finally reached two people in insurance services. The first person transferred me back to DMV services. Same issue. I called back to the insurance services and she (great customer service) transferred me to a live person (Dawn). I briefly informed Dawn of the issue with the phone system just in case she wasn't aware. She was very short with me and had a negative tone inflecting a dismissing sound with her mouth. I had a brief question which she wasn't thoroughly listening and answered it incorrectly. I asked my question again. I thanked her for the information and said have a nice day. No acknowledgment. She was quick to hang up. I work in a professional role where customer service is the utmost importance when dealing with people.

Negative experience: Actually I am disappointed with AAA in general. Whenever I have a need to speak to someone in one of their offices the phone gets answered by a person in Texas. In this case that person could not help me (as usual). She did not know if they had a map I wanted in the Del Mar Heights office so she said cheerily "let me transfer you to someone in that office." (Okay...but I thought by calling that number I would be connecting to someone in the office to begin with.) It is 9:18AM and I have been on hold now for over 15 minutes with the repeated message in my ear "all of our representatives are busy now, someone will be with you shortly" Not: I am hanging up and will need to drive to the office to see if they have what I want again. Their customer service phone support is horrible and has been getting worse. I have learned the only way to get my questions answered is to be inconvenienced by taking time out of my day and driving to the local office. UGH

Fantastic experience: Friendly and efficient staff. Was able to walk in without an appointment and process my registration renewal within 15min. DMV wouldn't allow me to do it online and I did not want to wait at one of their offices. Note you will need to pay in cash or personal check for any DMV paperwork but that is their requirement not AAA's.

Negative experience: Just got off the phone with the dmv department the girl who answered was rude. Had a disgusting attitude when I told her they input my address for my car registration incorrectly then tried telling me to go online to DMV website and change it on there when I already paid them to do it and they input it in wrong. If you hate your job and are miserable at what you do pls find another profession.
