Negative experience: We paid for a plan with “concierge service” that was a joke. When our trip was wrecked due to airline issues, the travel insurance company didn’t answer calls as advertised, we’re always days late in following our updates, required too much legwork to process refund, and delayed settling our claim for no good reason. Don’t use!

Negative experience: Paid 110 for insurance not bad price United airlines lost our luggage along with 38,000 others and we had no clothes no luggage no meds and no toiletries for three days so we purchased only what we needed to get by. Insure my trip after sending in receipts for everything and the airlines we lost your luggage voucher paid us 98.00 dollars for 600.00 in receipts. Won't use them again

Fantastic experience: I have used IMT several times over the years. I believe I submitted a claim years ago. It handled quickly and reimbursement happened fairly fast. I am adding my review because I know how it works. I usually purchase if I am traveling with another person(s). I appreciated the way the search engine will allow for comparison of not only prices but coverage as well. Many great experiences so far.
Negative experience: I’ve used this company a few times for cruises. Didn’t have a problem until I had to cancel a cruise. I was told that I couldn’t get my money back but I could use it for a future cruise. I booked the cruise and was told today the cruise has to be within two years. No one told that!! Not their fault I had to cancel but I do blame for losing my money for the insurance I purchased because they failed to tell me about the 2 years. InsureMyTrip pawned me off on the company who actually insured my trip Itravelinsurance and I got the same answer from them. No effort was made my InsureMyTrip to make things right for them not informing of the 2 year rule!!

Unfortunately travel insurance premium is non-refundable after the review period from when the policy was purchased (which in this case was 10 days). However, if you do take a new trip before the date our team provided, please be sure to let us know so we can apply this plan to a new trip.

Negative experience: NO REFUND FOR NO VALUE! An organization with little regard for customers... We acquired insurance for a trip to Israel that was cancelled for now obvious reasons, but the cancellation was after their 10-day no refund rule, so they decided that offering NO REFUND in response to NO VALUE RECEDVED was just fine according to their "industry-standard" rules. That was strike two after they originally tried to get us to pay more for insurance than was called for by our progress payments on the trip. We refused and they lowered the starting price. Future buyers beware, we'll not use them again... ADDENDUM: They say "Our team will be happy to review these factors with you and how it may change the price of your plan." More correct wording might have been... "Our team will be happy... 'to keep your money and you are welcome to send more of your time to' ...review these factors with 'us' and how it may change (Code I suspect for add-to) the price of your plan." But in any case InsureMyTrip has long-since decided that you can't have your money!

Positive experience: The company was sold to Tokyo Marine. It eliminated their app saying no one used it. I was told I was the first person to ask about it. Really? In this day when apps dominate everything? Update 05/30/2024: the company’s website does not show you your policies. When I called, I was told there was a major technical problem that is being worked on, with no target date for completion. I had called a few months ago and was told the same thing. This makes it very difficult to follow up on any changes, since you must call InsureMyTrip, wait on hold and then be sent an email from them with the change form. I don’t know about claims, but I assume you need to do the same. The policy prices are good and the customer support on the phone is helpful.

Negative experience: Went to insure my trip. Looked at the insurance policies they suggested. Got a plan from Crum & Foster for $379.00 in April. One half hour before our trip on September 7th. I ended up in the Hospital for a week. I cannot take my trip now. So I Immediately put in a claim. It has been close to 2 Months now. And still nothing. They make the excuse of the Pandemic. And other nonsense. Well the Pandemic is over. They will not pay me for my claim. They will not refund my money. And they will not let me post a negative review on their website. They say, until this is settled. Who knows when that will be. So if your looking for trip insurance. I would suggest, go somewhere else. In reply to your answer. You are the one that recommended the carrier. Easy to say that you don't handle claims. And to say your people will help. I'm sorry. I have lost trust in your company and business. I don't believe you. I don't believe insurance is for anyone anymore. When the company can just up and walk away. And not pay. I will file my complaints with the R.I. Attorney General's office. And the BBB.

Negative experience: I purchased insurance with them. A major blizzard was forecast so I moved my trip up one day. I both called them and emailed them to request that they change the start date on the policy I purchased. I didn’t get a response to either. The insurance company told me that my entire policy was rendered void (a legal battle I am now forced to fight). I’m a lawyer and have not seen this level of combined incompetence and negativity as I experienced. You shouldn’t need to be a lawyer to fight messes a company created. I have given this company plenty of time to fix their mess. Don’t use this company.

Negative experience: Terrible insurance I would never use them and I recommend not to. I had a trip to de Dom. Rep my daughter three years old got sick. I covered all the expenses. This was in 2022 and they put the claim in March 2022 and they never got back to me and I still had to call them now in 2023 to see what happened with the case. Still, they can’t tell me what’s wrong with my case one year later.

Fantastic experience: Always use this app to insure my cruise trips. Mom and in-laws have been quickly reimbursed for medical expenses using insurance purchased via this app. Highly recommend. Also app customer service is fantastic.

Positive experience: I've used it over the years, the one time I needed it with a missed flight it was not covered n I had two policies for the two countries I visited. I miss the saved quote feature when I'm shopping for coverage.
Negative experience: I am a frequent traveler. I have bought insurance from this agency for years. The reason I kept coming back was their well-designed website. Over the years, I had to call a couple of times, and on both calls, I got 2 agents who were short, not helpful, and seemed to be bothered by the call. I put up with that customer service. Last week, I was trying to purchase insurance and had a question. I called and the holding time was too long. They offered for a call back within 24 hours, so I left a message. No one called me back. I left another message, and again no one called back after 48 hours. I tried the chat option, but my question and the explanation were hard to do by a chat. There are intricate insurance questions that can only be explained by talking to someone. I asked the person if they could call me and he said that they are not able to call back. I have bought so many plans from them and they made a commission effortlessly because of their good web site. Fortunately, I never had to file a claim. I can imagine how horrible it would be dealing with them if I ever needed help. I was a loyal customer. No more. There are so many better agencies that would pick up the phone and talk to you in a courteous manner. Bye Bye InsuremyTrip.

Fantastic experience: Travel insurance used to be something you'd think about if traveling overseas. But as we hear about fights being cancelled by the hundreds, and it taking several days to get passengers rescheduled, it's increasingly important for domestic travel. Insure my Trip has become my first port of call before I travel to any destination I couldn't simply drive home from.

Negative experience: I called customer service THREE times over the course of three weeks because they doubled charged by card. Each time, they said they couldn't do anything and they would send to finance to take a look and that finance would get back to me. Finance never got back to me, and I have not received a refund. Do not purchase anything from this FRAUDULENT company.

Fantastic experience: Very knowledgeable staff.. I was completely lost on what insurance I needed, I told him what I needed it for and he told me exactly what I needed and it was super affordable!! Will definitely use them again!
Fantastic experience: Insure my Trip is a brokerage and offers a huge variety of plans depending on your specific travel insurance needs. I have used them for my annual 2 month winter vacations for the past 10 yrs. I've had to collect on policies 2x in a decade of travel and they and the insurance companies they've sent me up with were excellent to work with. Fantastic experience: I have seldom had the great service I get with all my transactions with InsureMyTrip. In 2015 I had a $7,000 claim for a trip cancelled for a health emergency. IMT sold me policy from Allianz. I had great problems with a very, very difficult person at Allianz Insurance. I informed InsureMyTrip of the impasse and got an apology from a manager at Allianz within 15 minutes! IMT has sold me a policy at lower prices and 10 times the coverage as was quoted to me by AAA this year, 2017. Every single agent I speak to at IMT is equally informed, efficient, and knowledgeable. What's not to like?
