Fantastic experience: I had the atp ctp + B737 upgrade course on February. Training took 4 days longer than proposed for me since I don’t have my type rating buddy with me. However everyone was super helpful throughout entire process. Instructors were highly experienced, training facility was fine, stayed at the recommended hotel (15-20 min commute). I will definitely recommend Aerostar.

Fantastic experience: Probably more like 4.5 stars, but that's not allowed - see below This is my first of two reviews because I actually purchased two separate classes. The first is done and that's what the review covers. The second is happening now. My background is mostly in higher education, administration, and operations management. Just as for many others, the pricing outweighed the terrible reviews (Yelp and others that are more difficult to manipulate). ATP-CTP: I have heard many comments about the ATP-CTP being pretty worthless wherever you take it but I found Aerostar's Cathy Fulk to be excellent, bringing her decades of experience into the classroom that went well beyond just "war stories" and accident videos. She hit all the required areas plus provided us with information about how things really work on the line, both good and bad. Based on what others have said about ATP-CTP, I expected to spend three class days just studying for the FAA written. Because most topics were very engaging, I got little studying in until the sim days. This place could be great with some minor tweaks but, as others have said before, SIM scheduling is a weak spot. Don't expect to receive a plan in advance like at other training centers -- based on a current job description they have posted, they only plan for the following day. We heard nothing, looked at empty schedules for a day, and received no substantive responses to queries. That said, they pulled it together for me to finish on time and the instruction in the sims was great. They hit all the required components for ATP-CTP, as well as some other areas to help me prepare for that 737 Type. In addition to Cathy, instructors James Lewis, Dave Ryan, and Manan K were all great. I will recommend Aerostar to others pursuing the ATP-CTP. ---------------- Type rating isn't going so well. Very late the night before the first class day the first session was scheduled for 7-11PM on day 1 for orientation, systems test, and SIT. Now is day 8 of this 12-14 day course and I haven't been in the SIM. They had a 4-day outage, which can happen anywhere; but communication has been minimal even when prompted. The did send a message during the outage that they were "planning as many contingencies as possible and were ready to implement a recovery plan as soon as shipping and tracking is confirmed." Part definitely shipped because the SIM has been functional since yesterday however, as far as I know, none of the people who are 8 days into the class without a session have even been scheduled. I'm frustrated, but understand maintenance issues happen. I'm working remotely during these weeks, so it hasn't been terrible thusfar, except for the extra expenses. Unfortunately, I don't have great plans beyond the promised course dates and those are nearing an end. I'm still hopeful all that contingency planning they did will allow them to pull something off similar to ATP-CTP with double/longer sessions, etc. to get our class through during or very close to the promised training dates. More to come after my second purchase shakes out. Feel free to reach out if you have questions for a former student.

Negative experience: If I could give this place less than 1 star I would. AeroStar has the worst customer service you can imagine from a flight school. I called to obtain info about their instrument rating program and two mins into the conversation the admissions lady (ALISHA) thinks I’m lying about having my pilots license! I greeted her very nicely so I was shocked with the amount of negative energy and lack of willingness to help that came from her. With the few questions I asked, she had so much attitude and would reply as if she was irritated with only a hard “No” or “Yes” knowing she could take the extra step to explain more about the program. I confronted her about this and her response was “what else do you want help with?!” I kindly ended the phone call and looked to continue my flight training elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic experience at AeroStar in Kissimmee. Did my ATP CTP, Boeing 737 PIC Type Rating and ATPL Checkride in 3 weeks on the Fast Track program. With studying the training materials for 2.5 months prior. Got to fly with so many great instructors cumulatively with 100s of years of global flying experience in many aircraft types. A great and encouraging environment. Opportunities to observe some other training sessions whilst on my type rating we're invaluable. One thing I really didn't expect is how global the students would be and the variety of experience. The networking has opened my eyes to some great opportunities I never new existed. The course was incredible value for money compared to the many options I evaluated and I enjoyed the quality of teaching. Shout out to Dan, Mark, Emmanuel, Ivan, Alyshia, Father Ryan, Jim, Manan, Sergio and Harry!

Fantastic experience: I got type rated in the B737-800 at Aerostar and it was an excellent experience. Diedra the owner was very caring and helping in student matters/ problem solving. Best Instructor on board Capt Harry Gambino a very professional instructor and examiner gave me first class training for my P1 Command Upgrade and learned a lot Thank you so much Capt Harry and Diedra. Fantastic experience: Attended ATP-CTP, Dan was our ground instructor, former 777/747 pilot and line check man. Very impressed with his level of knowledge and our class learned a lot from him. Super nice guy, and you can tell he really cares.

Fantastic experience: I write all reviews anonymously but none the less this is a good review. Was just waiting on VA reimbursement before I could write one. If you’re a veteran - highly recommend. A special shoutout to Sergio. He is the best. He handled my VA benefits process, and before and even after I met him was always professional and quick to respond to email correspondence and any questions I may have had. He also exhibits a kind energy in person, always had a smile on his face, and really made the GI bill process seamless unlike another school I went too that made it an absolute nightmare. This man deserves a raise, CHEERS SERGIO! VA paperwork with the school was quick and easy and reimbursement itself takes 3 months (this timeframe is normal as I asked other friends who used benefits at other schools who also received back their reimbursement within that same time period of waiting) Completed the ATP-CTP course in July here as recommended by quite a few friends. Cathy was an outstanding instructor and really put in the time and care as well as humor to make the ground portion of ATP CTP enjoyable. I learned a lot in that class (scored a 98% on the written exam). The sims were even more fun, I selected the A320 as that is the aircraft I’ll type in at some point, maybe after the holidays. The instructor although it was for ATP CTP held high standards and was extremely thorough, answered all questions and made me feel a lot more comfortable with the A320 as I had already begun studying the aircraft flows prior to this course. It was a great confidence builder course and the instructor Juan…I think was his name was also great! Key take aways - Veteran friendly, well taken care of facility, solid instructors

The school has a highly qualified staff with an excellent human touch. I was always in contact with them, and they never hesitated to help me with everything I needed. The instructors were amazing! Dan, our ground instructor, made us feel incredibly comfortable, and the sim instructors and evaluators were all very professional. The entire experience was enjoyable and smooth. I highly recommend that all students come prepared with their TSA documents, IACRA, a completed CPAT, and have their Shepard Air or any study method ready for the written exam. Fantastic experience: My training experience with Aerostar was beyond my expectations. I reached out them after my scheduled training was cancelled by another training organization. I completed ATP+CTP and A320 Type Rating with them and everything was pretty straightforward and they were really helpful.

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience doing ATP-CTP training with Aerostar. Instructors Capt.Harry and Capt. Cathy Fulk were very knowledgeable and accommodating, I learnt more than I expected. I had problems with my visa, being an international student and had to postpone my start date, the management team Ms.Stacey from pilot services and Ms.Trish were very helpful and understanding throughout the process and helped me with new start dates. My overall experience was great and would definitely recommend Aerostar.

Positive experience: Aerostar has great instructors who are helpful and knowledgeable. I would like to thank Dan, Harry, and Jim for their help throughout the course. I chose Aerostar for my ATP-CTP because it was very affordable compared to other schools. However, the scheduling department is severely disorganized and almost caused me to miss my flight. I had scheduled my flight back home for Sunday and was supposed to finish the course by Saturday, but due to delays, my *7 Day Course* extended beyond the planned time. There was no communication between the scheduling staff and me, other than generic emails. I tried calling and emailing several times, but nobody responded. If it wasn’t for my classmate switching spots with me, I wouldn’t have been able to get on my flight back home. This would have cost me hundreds of dollars and lost time due to the school's negligence and lack of responsibility towards their customers. In hindsight, I would have rather gone to another school that was a bit more expensive but more organized. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this school for training.

Dan is obviously experienced but most importantly he is invested in providing for his students with respect to the course as well as useful information and resources for what comes after in our careers. The instructors had a lot of time and had an answer to every question. We highly recommend this team for your Avation training. Our instructor for ground was Don and Harry was our sim instructor. Fantastic experience: The whole staff was amazing from the very beginning. They were quick to respond to my questions and Trish helped me to get the right course for my needs. I ended up doing the ATP-CTP course. The ground instructor, Dan, was great. Extremely experienced retired captain with a tremendous amount of knowledge, experience and humor sprinkled in. The 3 days of ground were actually fun! There was a mixup on the first day of the sim portion, but the staff came through and made sure we were taken care of and our training finished on time. Having never flown a full motion sim or a turbo jet, it was a fun experience. Harry did an amazing job getting us the training we needed and made it fun. Thank you all and I hope to see you again real soon for the type rating!

Positive experience: Overall, decent experience for citizens, but bad experience for international folks. Aerostar was very responsive with assisting in scheduling my ATPCTP, no type rating. It is a 7 day program with the expectation that all your time will be given to the training, Wednesday to Wednesday. My ground instructor was Dan, Wednesday to Friday. He is the best of the best. Amazing instruction, and just a very good person. I didn’t have my schedule for the rest of the training until Friday night. Sims were scheduled sat,sun, Mon in the A320 and that should’ve been it. The A320 sim kept breaking down on both Friday and Saturday, and then Sunday got cancelled. Both my sim partner and I didn’t know what would happen and no one was available or responsive to provide assistance/information with schedules. This wasn’t terrible for me since I am not an international candidate, but it was for others. I got an email on Sunday at 2:13pm to show up at 3pm for a sim, poor poor planning. Anyway, I showed up and did that sim in the 737 and then another one the next day to finish up.

Fantastic experience: I completed my ATP CTP class at Aerostar last month. When I visited the school to sign up for the course, Deidra, the owner, welcomed me personally. She was generous with her time and gave me a very nice tour of the facility. Captain Harry was a knowledgeable instructor. He thoroughly covered all of the curriculum and provided us great tips while keeping the class entertaining by sharing his extensive experience. During the simulator portion, Captain Harry gave us valuable insight into what it is like to be an Air Transport Pilot. Overall it was a great experience !

Fantastic experience: I have nothing but positive thoughts about Aerostar Training Services. I signed up for their A320 Type Rating and Ground School. All of my Instructors were very knowledgeable and actually flew the line full time which gave me a wealth of knowledge. In addition I was able to seat support when available, this helped me understand things like programming the MCDU more in-depth. I highly recommend AeroStar for anyone looking to get things done in a timely fashion.

Positive experience: They have new team and work efficiently. Bad start, experienced short of instructor and examiner also breakdown of SIM. My plan had to be pushed from June to December even I had to get a new VISA. I know it was a hard time and I understand their agent tried to coordinate everything to met everyone’s expectations. Thanks to their staff, I know they have done a lot. And they gave me some free SIM sessions as compensation, it’s useful for me. Now they have a new team, also enough instructors and examiners at least A320. They work more efficiently and respond faster than before.

Fantastic experience: Been to Aerostar twice, first for ATP-CTP and now for initial A320 and ATP. Had an excellent experience both times. The instructors are very experienced and enthusiastic about their training responsibilities. I would strongly recommend Aerostar for anyone's training. Negative experience: AERO STAR is a liar. They are thinking only money. They ignore our emails when it is not convenient for them.

Fantastic experience: Very professional and accommodating. I am a 15 year 121 pilot for a airline here in the States. I bid a a certain stretch of days off to fit the initial A-320 add on using the "Fast Track" option. The day before the LOFT there was a unfortunate medical emergency with one the they're great instructors. I expressed my concerns about having to extend my days when it was propositioned because I had to be back at work. The staff went above and beyond to facilitate keeping things on track that very night, and delivered in a big way. The instructors here are phenomenal all the instructors I had were previous Airbus drivers, from AA, Spirit. And the training was just like any other training events I'm used to even at my own airline. I highly recommend AeroStar because you can't beat these prices and the quality is top-notch!

Fantastic experience: Without a doubt, the finest training I have ever received. I've been a professional airline pilot for over 20 years. I've had training at 3 different Airlines, and Aerostar is the only independent training I've received (A-320 type rating). It was by far the best. Highly professional instructors, outstanding attention to detail, and a genuine concern for the student to achieve a successful outcome of their training. The best of the best!

Fantastic experience: The best choice for the ATP-CTP and the B737 type rating conversion course.. ATP-CTP course was a great time to share with the other pilots from different countries and different experiences. The instructor was a great person who works for NASA in the life support of Apollo program which is great. Also he had a lot of experience flying mostly anywhere in the world. In the ATP and B737 type simulators I had a great instructors. I had lucky and had two sim partners on the ATP sins, both of them had 737 previous experience so those simulators were so funny. The ground course (for the conversion course) of the type and sims was too much more serious, real B737 instructions. I felt like in a real recurrent from my previous airline. What a great idea having Aerostar as flight school for the ATP and B737 type! Highly recommended. The best helpful, nice and professional team!

Negative experience: ATP CTP - Great simulator instructor, poor schedule management, all the schedule was mixed with others we have to organized our selves and be willing to decide who was on Left or Right seat. I learned more from the pilots in my class. They don’t have a good structure made for this course. Very expensive for what I got. They won’t prepare you for the writing test in other words I didn't see the point on having this 30+ hours class time.

Fantastic experience: I completed both ATP-CTP and A320 type. The instruction was excellent in both the ground school and the sim. I highly recommend systems & limitations study and flow prep prior to beginning a type rating if you do not have time in the specific aircraft. The course pace is very quick and pre-study will be worth your time. The entire staff was always there to help me with a smile and the school leadership was very attentive and accommodating to any unplanned issues.

Brian Foster, my instructor, was both skilled and knowledgeable and conducted the classes and simulator rides in a manner that was both fun and informative. His years of experience with a major airline helped enhance the training and development toward a career in commercial aviation. Overall, I had a very positive experience.

Fantastic experience: I was able to personally work with the owner to resolve scheduling conflicts due to weather, and they were great to deal with! While I had an excellent training experience (I especially loved my training instructor), the way they handled the weather problems really spoke to the quality of their business. I will definitely be returning for any future type ratings.

Positive experience: I was an A320 initial student and I must say it a rollercoaster journey. There are pros and cons about this school: Pros: • Very helpful instructors, they are willing to help you anytime. I had an instructor name Majid, super helpful! • Everything is straight to the point, everything is taught for the checkride • The place is very convenient, there lots of airbnb up for rent around the airport • Students are very friendly and trying to help each other out, also we can observe other students training • The sim runs 24/7 • Approved by Cambodian government for A320 training • The cost is very cheap compare to other flight school Cons: • The resources is very limited, a break down in the sim could cost you weeks of waiting and maintenance is bad • Everything you must learn by yourself (procedures, flows, callouts), it best to learn everything before joining the school • No refund! Aerostars will try to keep you at all cost, by telling lies and keeping you uninformed. If you fail the checkride in the oral and haven’t use the sim, they will not refund your money back for the sim • Scheduling bad! The scheduler is very ignorant, and unhelpful. The scheduler does not if your prepared for the sim or not, he just sitting in front of the computer and try to tetris flight blocks for the student. I have not received the checkride day until the day before and in the evening too! • The A320 simulator is very old! There a lot of malfunctions • International students are not well inform about the visa and processes and there are no student service specialist • School will tell you that you only need 20days to the training, in reality you have to spend 2 months and most of the time waiting • No training compensation when you have to wait 3 weeks for a checkride • they will charge you 2% extra for any debit and credits card it best to wire transfer or check Overall, I think the school is ok, don’t expect any high quality training and good resources when cost is cheap. Also, you have to go your own way to get stuff done quickly and extra training will cost extra money. Hope this helps to future students!

Negative experience: Good instructor and Bad owner and staffs.

Negative experience: The reply says that everything is because of lightning. Weather? Lightning? Maintenance? It doesn't matter. Students can understand about this situation. It is because of the center's response that students leave these review. If the school had responded properly and informed us of the progress, it would not have been this far. The CEO was in school, but did not meet the students. BY INTENTION. although time is money, they don't care about customer's time. The problem of this center is simple. Once a customer pays for it, THEY IGNORE A CUSTOMER.

Negative experience: Dear. AEROSTAR If you truly want to hear what students want and you’re understanding how we are frustrating due to this delay, hold a meeting to be transparent and to do not remain any misunderstanding. I don't think many students post reviews with lowest score in here if AEROSTAR have been dealt with this delay properly. "What if AEROSTAR held a meeting to discuss this delay and explain the situation clearly?" "What if AEROSTAR guarantee time limit of the delay and offer compensation in case of failure? Even if the simulator is fixed, there are around 30 students on the line to start the training. AEROSTAR has only 1, 737 simulator. Let's see how is it going.

Negative experience: They will leave a comment here that "We don't have your name enrolled...". It is typical excuse from flight training school. PLEASE BELIEVE MY REVIEW. AVOID this place, they will ask you to enroll for deal, but they can't finish the training. They advertisement says 10~12 days, but actual duration is more than 2 months. THEY REFUSES REFUND WHICH IS RIDICULOUS. Any published claim that is false or deceptive is a false advertisement. Ads that purposely share information about a product that gives a consumer an incorrect understanding is misleading advertising.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been trained by airlines since 1990 and I can tell from my experience that AeroStar has such a great professional staffs, beginning with the enrollment process which was very nice! The instructors are amazing, friendly and for sure they have a high quality of knowledge which matters the most for the ones looking for pursuing their achievements, the results ends up in a very confidence way during your check-ride.
