Fantastic experience: I was born and raised in Miami, but every vacation was always somewhere North of Miami. This time I decided to take a trip to Key West so I contacted Big Dave Tours. They were referred to me by a friend. My fiancé and I had a great time all the way there and back!!! Thanks so much Big Dave Tours, we will be contacting you again in January.

Negative experience: These guys do false marketing on Groupon and other places. They make you buy a voucher but you still need to pay "mandatory fees" which is 4x the cost of voucher. Avoid this hassle.

Negative experience: Thank you for proving my point. Let’s clear this up: I specifically called ahead to confirm whether I could purchase my ticket on Groupon and book same day BEFORE leaving my hotel—your employee said yes, then flipped the script once I arrived. Your response here is full of contradictions and excuses. If you truly record calls, then please check them—because I was told exactly what I wrote above. I never “insulted” anyone—I asked for help when I was lost and was met with sarcasm, disrespect, and zero accountability. Telling a paying customer, “you obviously don’t follow instructions” then “good luck getting your money back” is not professional. Offering a free tour after insulting me doesn’t fix the fact that your staff was rude, dismissive, and unhelpful when I needed basic directions and clarity. I stand by my review: your communication is misleading and your customer service is unprofessional. Tourists deserve better. Do better, Big Dave’s.

Negative experience: These guys canceled my tour a day before it even happened talking about maintenance on the vehicles they want to reschedule when I’m only visiting and won’t be there. Emailed about my refund and no response. If you you going to cancel make sure someone gets there refund as fast as you take their payment

Negative experience: The snorkeling was great but OMG this driver is speeding and almost caused 2 accidents, I will be reporting this, I know that businesses have GPS logs and it will show how fast he was going.

Fantastic experience: I would say I was or should say I would probably be the worse client Big Dave tours ever had to deal with, I arrived super late..my payment did not go through and got lost on the way 3 times yet those guys worked with me way and beyond, or maybe I just had a bad day but seriously it was all forgotten as soon as I stepped foot on that boat.. I love you big dave with all of your crew and I will definitely tell family and friends.

Negative experience: The most unprofessional service DO NOT BOOK THESE SCAMMERS!! We were here on time at 6:25 am the only bus that passed refused to confirm our names on her list. Extremely unresponsive and unprofessional, and by the time that they did respond, it was an hour after. Completely ruined our anniversary experience!!! Update review response 3/4/2025. Thank you for responding about five months later. We did receive our refund after multiple conversations, however we did not Any discount for any future services.

Fantastic experience: Was an amazing tour! A few things to keep in mind -- plan your free time accordingly because the tour is very quick and how much you get depends on traffic. Weather is also a deciding factor on if you're going on the boats or not. After getting to Key West we snorkeled and did the catamaran with unlimited drinks for three hours. Then, I got back to land and went to the east Martello Museum, grabbed a lobster roll and had some key lime pie before heading back to the bus. It was a WONDERFUL trip for the price point and I think Big Dave has done a great job with the drivers being explanatory about where to meet and how much time you have! Would definitely do it again!

Negative experience: Complete scam! Do not book with this company- especially through Groupon! Picked us up in the morning, drove us 2 hours away from our hotel just to tell us they cancelled our excursion. We paid for a boat tour with open bar & got NOTHING. Had to spend an entire day in key west with no plan & no way back to our hotel in Miami. Reached out for our refund & was given the run around until they finally REJECTED our request to be refunded since we did not receive ANYTHING that we paid for. Currently on the process of reporting this business

Positive experience: The tour itself once we got there was great! Our tour guide was so sweet and knowledgeable. The bus transportation was unorganized and A LOT longer than expected. To start we were told pickup time was 6:30 am…. We were not picked up till 7:30 am and could have slept another hour or got breakfast. Them on the way back we didn’t arrive at our stop until 10:45pm… bus ride is advertised to be 3-3.5 hours but it’s more like 5 hours each way…

Positive experience: We booked the 1 hour fast jet ski with boat tour. It was ok. The experience did not meet my expectations. About 1 hour prior to our time slot, we received a call telling us to be early. When we showed up, the boat already left. We waited about 40 minutes for the boat to come back to get us. The boat ride was not a tour. It was a ride. There was no tour or talking. Upon arriving to the jet ski area, we were escorted out on our jet skis to open water and told to have fun. I was expecting a tour as well. Jet ski only went to 29 mph, which could be fast for some. All in all it was an ok experience. I recommend they update their website details to match the exact description of what the experience is like. Also they need to state in writing somewhere in the booking process or confirmation that you must show up 30 min early. And the meeting spot was different than the email confirmation address—that could confuse some people.

Positive experience: I didn't receive itinerary until night before after I asked for it. They have several stops in the morning picking people up. It was a long bus ride in the morning in which we stopped at Key Largo to eat. we had already ate before getting on the bus. I think we should had just drove straight through for the ones that do eat before hand to get to key west sooner and be able to have time to enjoy a meal before the snorkel trip. Thamara was a great guide. Super sweet, knowledgeable and skilled with her many languages. Also making sure we were safe and understood the assignment. The bus ride was smooth. When we got on the boat they told us the reef had been bleached from the sun. Then they took us too a place that didn't have any color at all. I was hoping for at least some color. That's really the only reason why I booked it. The drinks are super well drinks meaning like $5 for bottle liqour. The staff were awesome though and made sure safety was their priority! When we got back we really only had time to change and walk down the street. There is not shower that I could find so your just stuck with salt water on you until you get back to miami. I was hoping for a little more time in key west, So I could moped around and really see all the different stuff. But otherwise the ride back was smooth and quick. I may be booking again .

Negative experience: We booked a 2 hour jetski experience from getyourguide. Instructor told us he will be half an hour late. We waited for about 1.5 hours, meanwhile we tried to reach him after the half an hour and he did not picked up the phone. We reached the main office they told us he will be there in a short while which he did not. And after a while they stopped answering their phones either so we left. They wasted our time, i do not recommend.

Positive experience: Took coach trip from Miami to key west. It met our needs gave us 6hrs in key west which gave us plenty of time to explore on foot. Competent driver who give us good ride there and back. Did not score higher since coach a bit tired and problem with temperature either freezing cold or very warm. Since it’s 4hrs each way that does impact. But take a jumper and enjoy key west

Negative experience: Booked the Sun, Snorkel and Sip tour for my last day in Miami. Got up at 5a.m to leave Miami Beach on the bus, rode for about 4 hours to arrive at Key West around 12:15p.m. Checked in at Sunset Water Sports right away, and was told to grab a sandwich and meet at the dock before 1p.m by our tour guide. 8 of us did so, arriving at the boat 2 minutes before 1pm to watch the boat drive off and leave us on the dock with who I assume is the first mate staring right at us as they drove away. Neither the Captain or other staff on the boat would answer the phone, as well as management. Was offered a simple refund as if that makes up for wasting a whole day coming down here. 4 hour trip down to Key West for nothing. Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time with this trip. Book elsewhere! -Update: Never did receive a refund for this booked trip, although I was assured by Sunset Water sports and Big Dave’s Tours that I would receive one. That same day upon returning to our tour bus for the drive back to Miami, we spoke with a couple that made it on the boat and had indeed informed the Captain and other employee personnel on the boat that they were leaving without a number of us accounted for. They apparently got a response of “that’s too bad, we don’t care”. What a horrible way to treat your customers. Especially ones who had traveled long distances and for hours.

Fantastic experience: The jetski ride was amazing! The tube ride amazing ! Tour of the mansions , loved it ! The wine , amazing! Money very well spent, I'm very satisfied.

Negative experience: I don't recommend it. I wouldn't go back. I bought a groupon online from miami to key west for snorkeling tour. No agenda was provided until we were on the bus for 2 hours. Leave at 7AM to get to key west by 12PM. We are not morning people and were exhausted. Didn't know they would be stopping for breakfast on the way but we had already grabbed a breakfast sandwich before. They stop at some cuban buffalo food truck in key largo where options were limited. Would have made more sense to me to allow people to eat in Key west and save that time on the way there. We did not want to travel home to miami the same day and I'm not sure why people would want to spend 10 hours on a bus to spend 5 hours in key west, but we opted to stay one night. While they were nice to allow next day to come home, they don't accommodate well for this option or leave enough time for us to do anything before the snorkel tour. We explained to the tour guide lady we were planning to eat in key west but we didn't know the tour was scheduled at 12:45PM leaving us little time to eat. We were unable to check in our hotel. It was very rushed and disorganized. We rushed to get food with our bags and were anxious to make it to the boat on time which was also miscommunicated on timing. Staff on the boat were also bad at directions and rude. Captain didn't explain very well where we should snorkel and was yelling at his staff and snorkelers. The open bar is cheap alcohol options on the way back from the tour. The positives were we didn't have to drive and the snorkeling part was actually nice. If I had known the agenda, I'd probably check if they could have arranged the tour for the next day along with the ride home. Other than that I wouldn't do the tour again. Drive yourself and organize your own day.

Positive experience: Tour itself was great, but commuting to Everglades from Miami Beach was a never ending story… Bus was stopping by every corner and the hotel to pick up every guest separately and drive them to another bus at Miami City… One hour ride to Everglades took us two hours from Miami Beach, moreover no food and drinks are allowed inside… Also we got no info about 15min delays at the meeting point and we were so stressed we missed the bus already. Everglades National Park itself is the best part of the trip but it is definitely reachable by yourself without stress and two hours ride.

Negative experience: I usually dont write reviews but i feel like an honest review would help the next person: I understand Miami has a bunch of different cultures and languages but in the details it says " a tour guide with info on the way down to key west", it was quite hard to understand our tour guide because of his string accent and his constant translation to Spanish made it hard to follow along. The communication was awful. I never received a confirmation email when booking, i did not receive any info or details until i reached out to them on whats up app 10pm the night before. Pick up was late and again communication was not clear. The snorkeling company they contract with was great in key west, sunset was excellent ! but again, when we got off the 3 hour bus ride, the tour guide was more worried about the trolly people than the snorkel groups. it was very rushed and not effective communication. overall, i would rather rent a car and drive down to key west and book the snorkeling separate.
