Me and my fiance have a big height difference and she helped us with suggestions on dance moves that best fits our height difference. She is also very patient with her instructions and breaks down complicated dance moves to easy to follow steps. Highly recommend her.

Fantastic experience: We are so grateful to Anjulena at Houston Ballroom Dance for making our first dance one of the highlights of our wedding! Before taking lessons with Anjulena, neither of us had any ballroom dance experience, and we were honestly pretty intimidated at first. But from day one, Anjulena made us feel so comfortable. She was incredibly patient, kind, and intuitive, adapting her teaching style to fit me and my husband perfectly. Our weekly lessons became something we truly looked forward to not just for the dancing, but because she made them so fun and encouraging. We loved the experience so much that we even brought our parents in to practice the father-daughter and mother-son dances, which made those moments even more special. By the time our wedding came around, we felt confident, excited, and ready. And almost every guest raved about how amazing our first dance was! We still find ourselves watching the videos and smiling. Working with Anjulena was one of the best parts of our wedding experience.

Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful experience. Our dance instructor was Anjulena. She helped my husband and I prepare for our first dance for our wedding. Going into it, we both had zero dance experience, but she was so kind and so so patient and is such a dedicated and amazing dance instructor! We also received such wonderful relationship and life advice during the process which was an added bonus! She even went to our venue site to do a practice run with us and give us some final pointers and tips. The guests at our wedding were very impressed by our dance. We are so so grateful for Anjulena and highly recommend coming here for dance lessons (especially from Anjulena).

Fantastic experience: Anjulena is seriously the best teacher ever. She’s very patient, especially for teaching my husband and I, two people who have never danced at all. She even went to our wedding venue to do a practice run with us to make sure we were comfortable dancing in a new setting. Our first dance was such a big hit and we got sooooo many compliments. Fantastic experience: Anjulena is one of the best, if not the best dance instructor you can find in Houston! She not only teaches professional dance techniques well, but also tailors her teaching for different students. She also teaches relationship and inspires couples through teaching dance. Her dance lessons not only help couples bond with each other but also motivate one to be better. As an educator myself I find her teaching style excellent and personable. I also see her bond with students and help students beyond her classes. She helped us with our wedding first dance and it turned out excellent, many of our guests say that’s the best first dance they’ve ever seen and we were very happy with and proud of it. We can’t wait to continue to work with her!

Fantastic experience: Houston Ballroom Dance is such a safe space for learning to dance. The classes with Anjulena were worth every penny. My husband and I took 16 lessons total for our choreographed 1st dance. It really WOWed our guests and we received many compliments afterwards because it was so powerful and sweet. Anjulena is a very patient and poised personality and I don't think we could have done it without her guidance. My husband and I performed dance lifts that I never even imagined we could do together. Her teaching skills cannot be matched because of her strong dancing background and professional career. I always thought I needed to channel my inner Anjulena to get through, but she taught me that I can as long as I have the confidence and put my goofiness aside. She truly loves what she does and we were so lucky to have her part of our wedding journey. I strongly recommend to all my friends and family who want to learn any kind of dance with her. She even helped my dad and I get comfortable dancing for our father-daughter dance! (And he was really skeptical). She can make any awkward dance situation comfortable for anyone. She's THE BEST! I hope to continue classes with her in the near future. I could always learn a thing or two about two-stepping, I do live in Texas with great country clubs. Hope she won't be too busy with all her new customers to take me and my husband on again <3

Fantastic experience: Anjulena is amazing! We worked with her for our first dance, and not only was it fun, but it also ended up being fantastic. Our guests loved it/ were blown away by our dance, and we loved performing it and learning it. Wedding prep can get stressful, and learning the dance and going to class was a stress reliever and a ton of fun. I have never done ballroom dancing before (my now wife had a long time ago ), but Anjulena was a fantastic teacher and could teach us and get us performance ready for the wedding! She choreographed the dance for us based on what we wanted, and it felt awesome to have someone who could make this dance into something we wanted. We told her what we wanted as the dance developed, and she could add in moves and make modifications to meet our needs. She is also super kind and even came to our wedding rehearsal to help us practice our dance and to make sure we were oriented correctly and comfortable to do our dance at the venue (for both plan A and the rain plan). Overall, I highly recommend working with Anjulena. If you have a first dance for a wedding, she's your person. She helped us create a memorable moment we will cherish forever (I have watched a recording of our dance a friend got for us so many times already!) and a dance that wowed our guests (everyone said it was the best first dance they have seen!). Fantastic experience: Anjulena was great to work with, was very professional, and made it fun! My fiancé and I went in to learn two-step and then came back to learn a routine for our first dance at our wedding. She tailored the first dance to the song we chose and to our skill level. We had a blast and it was a huge hit at our wedding and we had more comments about the dance than anything else. Anjulena’s schedule was flexible and she was great about not giving us more than we could handle each session but also challenging us. And she was great about coming up with the routine and including our ideas as well. She is very talented and a great communicator. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I purchased a Groupon for dance lessons from them for Christmas for my husband. I did a lot of research before choosing a studio, and was VERY pleased with my choice. My husband is a real man's man kind of guy (previous Navy combat veteran, etc.). Anjulena is remarkable in teaching each of us in a way that resonates with us. I would recommend her WITHOUT RESERVATION for anyone wanting dance lessons. I am 44 years old, and my mom taught dance here in Houston at the same time Patrick Swayze did. In fact, he went to the same high school as my parents. I ADORE dance, and have wanted to take lessons forever. Although this was a gift for my husband, we are both LOVING our lessons and plan to take many more. We feel even more connected than ever before. Dancing is a beautiful, sensual, intimate partnership, and I'm glad Anjulena is there to show us the way. You should DEFINITELY choose her studio.

Fantastic experience: This place is great for singles or couples that want to learn to dance!!! I took lessons during my summer internship in Houston. I didn't know anyone in Houston and thought learning to dance would be a fun, good way to meet people. The instructors were very welcoming, knowledgeable, and patient. I had a blast and felt like I learned a lot!

Fantastic experience: My fiancé (now wife) wanted to do a first dance at our wedding reception and we found Houston Ballroom Dancing, went in for a $20 intro lesson and found out that TK and Anjulena are amazing! We used a mashup of two Indian songs and TK put together a perfect routine for the song (even though he does not understand any of the words!). My wife and I are both very novice dancers and TK breaks down the footwork, hand / body movements and is very patient (…very patient) and makes you do it 137 times until you perfect it! TK and Anjulena are both super professional and definitely know the time crunch (and the million other things you got going on when planning a wedding), they are very flexible with the time slots. They are both very passionate about dancing and it definitely shows when they are teaching you, they get to know you and your partner and really make the experience fun (never thought I’d say dancing was “fun”). These guys unquestionably know what they are doing and I would highly recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat. Excellent dance instructors (and amazing people in general). Thanks to both of them for a successful first dance (along with mother-son / father-daughter dances).

Fantastic experience: Polite dance instructors with lots of Patience, especially teaching a guy like me with two left feet. For my daughter’s wedding, we dance to the father and daughter song with the move that T.K. taught us and it was smashing. My daughter and son-in-law also took dance lesson here and they dance beautiful for their husband and wife first dance. The instructors are professionals and they teach with fun.

Fantastic experience: My fiancé and i found Houston Ballroom Dance when we were looking to get some help preparing for our first dance together. We started by taking a introductory lesson to see if we were a good fit with TK and Anjulena's teaching styles. They are super friendly and the introductory lesson went well. We signed up for 5 lessons in total. I am a not an experienced dancer, but throughout the lessons TK broke everything down step by step and helped us put together a wonderful first dance. They boxed in the dance floor to the approximate size of what our wedding floor would be like, and they had a petticoat my fiance could wear to simulate what her wedding dress would be like. Our wedding day first dance went very well, and the lessons were well worth the investment. TK was very accommodating to our schedule and his teaching style is always positive and encouraging. Definite 5 stars! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Thank God we found Anjulena and TK for our first dance! My husband and I found a swing dance video online and were desperately looking for an instructor about 2 months before the wedding. I made a phone call to Houston Ballroom Dance, and Anjulena checked the video for me and instantly knew what I wanted. We took about 7 lessons with Anjulena to complete the choreography. Anjulena was wonderful to work with. She is delightful, enthusiastic, and she cares about the quality of the dance. She set the tone for our dance with a big throw as opening, and every 30 seconds we have a new trick to surprise our guests (no kidding, it was an East coast swing dance with many aerial tricks. It sounds crazy but that's what we signed up for). There were times that we got frustrated and felt like we couldn't make it, but Anjulena had so much confidence in us and that really inspired us. TK joined us sometimes and they really made learning dance fun! We originally thought learning dance might be very stressful along the wedding planning, but it turned out to be the only thing that we could real progress every week! Our dance was AMAZING. Our guests were definitely impressed and they loved the surprise that we prepared for them! Throughout the whole night and weeks after the wedding, we kept having people coming over to us saying our dance was "Dancing with the Star" level! Even our DJ wrote a card to us and asked where we learned the dance after the wedding. It was totally worth it, and if you are looking for an instructor, you are looking at the right place.

Fantastic experience: My fiancé and I were looking for wedding dance lessons from a LGBT friendly studio. We chose Houston Ballroom Dance and weren't disappointed. First off, neither of us are skilled dancers... like at all, but Anjulena was patient and went with our flow. She choreographed a routine with us and was quick to alter parts to fit our skill level and learning curve. Anjulena and T.K. are so much fun, offering no judgment and always making what could be an awkward lesson fun and entertaining. Whenever the lessons ended we wanted to just keep going. We had our last lesson before the wedding tonight but have already talked about going back after for fun. If you suck at dancing, they can help you loosen up and have a good time and if you have a bit of rhythm I'm sure they can make you look like professionals.

Fantastic experience: My fiancé and I were on a tight budget for our DIY wedding, but we had never really taken the time to dance together before. We wanted our first dance together to be relaxed, yet special. We found Houston Ballroom Dance’s Groupon for 2 private dance lessons, and decided to dive in and give it a shot. We were very glad we did. TK was absolutely the PERFECT instructor for the two of us! Very encouraging, funny, gentle, and clear. He was able to work to each of our specific strengths, and to subtly bring our awareness to where each of our weaknesses were in the most constructive, helpful way possible. Amazing. These 2 lessons were absolutely delightful, and a whole lot of fun, and my fiancé and I are better dancers than we thought! Can’t believe we waited this long to make it a priority. We definitely feel a whole lot more confident about our first wedding dance, after just 2 lessons. Not sure if we’ll be able to make it back to their studio before our November wedding, but we will definitely treat ourselves to more lessons in the future. TK was very attentive and his desire to see me and my daughter learn and grow as we created our father - daughter dance for her wedding was truly sincere. Fantastic experience: As a beginner I would definitely recommend Houston Ballroom Dance! My wife and I worked with TK as our instructor to learn our reception dance (swing) and some merengue. TK was helpful and an excellent teacher. TK made learning easy which helped us expand our ability and add some nifty moves! The dance was a hit and i built enough confidence to do some merengue with little practice. I cant recommend them highly enough and we will definitely be back! Thanks TK!

I switched from another highly successful studio and was pleased to find the attention to detail on form and style that the other place lacked. I worked with Anjulena mostly but TK is excellent also.

Fantastic experience: Wow! My husband and I contacted this dance studio towards the end of 2016 for help with our first dance at our wedding. Anjulena was our instructor. She consulted with me through phone and email before our first lesson and explained the different packages for individual lessons. The three of us clicked from the very beginning. I have a background in dance but my husband does not. Anjulena recognized this and choreographed a beautiful piece that was accessible for both of us. She helped us feel good about ourselves and inspired us to keep working even when we felt discouraged. She kept in constant communication through email and text and it was very easy to schedule our lessons. She was awesome and even went out to meet with us at the venue to do a final review of the piece. We really liked working with TK too, and he gave us many helpful tips on our dance. The two of them also did a few small group classes for us and our friends that were a lot of fun. I highly recommend this studio for any couple who wants to WOW their wedding guests with a fabulous first dance. On a side note, these private dance lessons were nearly as beneficial as our pre-marital counseling in our preparation for marriage.

Fantastic experience: Anjulena and TK have been WONDERFUL to work with!! My fiance and I have our wedding coming up, and were looking for someone to help choreograph our first dance. We started elsewhere in the Houston area with another teacher, but we felt like we were learning one move an hour. We took the leap of faith when we found Anjulena to switch teachers. With only 2 weeks left, Anjulena and TK have bent over backwards to put something together and take time to teach us. You can just see the passion bubbling out of Anjulena with every class. I have absolutely ZERO dancing experience, and I still have much room to grow, but I've never been more confident leading my future bride on the dance floor! =] I highly recommend them!

I had never danced ever before in my entire life. TK was very patient and great at taking things one step at a time. During a private session, TK was great at showing me how to lead. BY the time we had our wedding, I was very confident of my abilities. Give the very short period of time we had between our first lesson and the wedding, TK was able to work wonders with me. Fantastic experience: In order to ensure that we didn't completely embarrass ourselves during our first dance at our wedding, my fiancé and I sought out dance lessons locally here in Houston. Being two women, we wanted to make sure we found a warm and welcoming environment. Anjulena couldn't have made us feel more at ease - she was patient, light hearted, and made us feel completely comfortable (even considering my two left feet). By the time our wedding rolls around, there's no doubt that we'll be more than prepared - even with a little sassy salsa! It should also be noted that the studio is well cared for and very spacious, close to Katy and the Galleria area. What more could you ask for?!?

Fantastic experience: I love this dance studio! I love Anjulena and TK! I live in Utah because school but I went to visit my family over Christmas break in Houston. I needed to take dance classes to prepare for my BYU ballroom dance team auditions, and I was also going to try out for a Gold Latin class at BYU. I had a wonderful experience! it was my first time taking private lessons and I was a little bit nervous. It was so much fun! Anjulena is amazing, she is very patience, she pushed me to improve and do my best!. Anjulena was more than a teacher, she was a friend, a coach, I felt so comfortable dancing and learning from her!. I can not express how grateful I am and how much I miss her! I accomplished a lot just from taking around 8 lessons from her! I came back to Utah and I did my auditions and I made the team!! and I got in my Gold Latin Class!! Anjulena gave me skills and advice that I will always have! Fantastic experience: My husband and I looked around for a studio to learn a dance for our wedding in Houston and we couldn't be more pleased. TK was our dance instructor and was such a pleasure to learn from. We instantly felt comfortable with him and cannot wait to take more lessons with him! We learned a rumba styled dance for our first dance and we started from the very basics all the way up a few really neat moves to surprise our guests. Everyone was blown away since it was all unexpected. We couldn't thank TK enough and we both highly recommend the Houston Ballroom studio for any dance you'd like to learn (or also paint classes! He's highly talented). I wish I could attach a picture from our dance somehow - of the pictures we've gotten back so far, it's by far our favorite.

Fantastic experience: West Houston and Katy area adult ballroom and west coast swing dancers, there is a dance school near us open 7 days a week. TJ and Anjulena have opened their own school. I had learned the fundamental steps and patterns by attending group classes at other schools in Houston. But I never could get the timing for the leads right. Why is this important? You may get a first dance with a new follower but if you can't lead you won't get a second dance. And that follower will pass on the word about you in the bathroom. Anjulena quickly spotted my problems. And because of her experience and professionalism she helped me correct them without abusing me or making me feel uncomfortable. Fantastic experience: When my wife and I were looking for a dance studio/ instructor to teach us how to do a proper dance for our 1st wedding dance we were looking for someone that would teach same sex couples. This is when we came across Anjulena and Houston Ballroom Dance. From the beginning Anjulena made us feel comfortable. Anjulena is extremely professional and friendly. She is flexible and works with your schedule. We wanted to look a little more polished for our first dance. Anjulena did an excellent job. She was very patient in making sure that both of us had a firm grasp of each step and turn in our routine. She took the time to stop when we made mistakes and really help us and was always reassuring that our first dance was going to be great. By the end of our lessons, not only had we learned our dance but we gained a friend. Don’t let your insecurities stop you, this is one wedding to-do you won’t regret completing.

Fantastic experience: The instructors here are extremely knowledgeable while maintaining a lighthearted atmosphere. Tk has a way of making the most nervous dancer feel at ease and Anjulena can answer even the most technical questions. I love this place and highly recommend it.

Fantastic experience: Recently retired and with moderate interest and background in ballroom dance, I was given an ultimatum to either train at a gym or train with Angulena. I chose Angulena and now wish that my wife had found her sooner. I believe Angulena views the art of dance is just as important as the art of teaching. She is a dance instructor who is formally trained, is patient, and is a teacher who wants to teach and who wants her students to learn correctly and do their best. She began teaching me as a single, but for now is teaching my wife and me as a couple. We always walk away from her class with a solid learning experience and enjoying it all.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience my first time in this dance studio. My instructor Anjuleena is very patient and explains each dance thoroughly so you get the most out of each lesson. She pushes you to improve which I like but mostly it's fun. I would definitely recommend her to newer dancers as well as those who want to brush up on their steps.

Fantastic experience: Nice studio in a great easy to find location. I have tried other studios and thought their lessons, styles, and music were outdated. Anjulena teaches the latest moves to the freshest music. I recommend anyone wanting to have fun and dance at the same time to visit this studio.

Fantastic experience: I was looking around with my wife to prepare for her brothers wedding in Houston. We came across this dance studio on memorial drive close to her brothers home. I can say that I'm not a very great dancer since I have two left feet. I thought that I wouldn't be able to learn how to dance. The instructors here are incredible though. They made me and my wife feel so comfortable in a great learning atmosphere. I was truly impressed by the professionalism of their team.
