Fantastic experience: Fantastic travel agency. They gave me a detailed itinerary with all of my confirmation numbers and everything. I worked with Anna on a trip to England and she was amazing. She answered all of my questions and even scheduled a car to bring me to the airport on the day I left England. This was my first time using a travel agency so I didn’t really know what to expect, but I was blown away at how professional and accommodating she was. LaMacchia definitely holds themselves to a high standard and it shows. I will be in touch for my next trip.

She listened to all our interests and gave us recommendations for best places, she answered all of my 101 questions and did so in a timely manner, and even checked in on us while we are in Greece to make sure everything was going well. Would 100% reccomend her & this travel agency. :)

Negative experience: Our group booked a trip through LaMacchia Travel, and unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing. Communication was consistently poor—questions about payments, next steps, or resort recommendations would go unanswered for days, often followed by weak excuses for the delay. Every step of the process had to be initiated by us (e.g., “When do we need to have everything paid?” “What else do you need from us?”). There was no initiative from our agent, Nolan, and we found ourselves sending multiple reminder texts just to get responses. When we finally received our itineraries—after repeatedly asking for them—there were multiple errors that we had to request be fixed. Once on the trip, the issues continued. We were told that because we booked multiple months in advance, our rooms would be near each other. Instead, we were placed in opposite corners of the resort. To make matters worse, one member of our group arrived early only to be told she wasn’t on the reservation at all and couldn’t check in. Reaching out to Nolan for help was frustrating, as he was taking time off and extremely hard to reach. Overall, the lack of organization, initiative, and effort made the entire process much more stressful than if we had just booked the trip ourselves. We had hoped for a smooth and supportive experience, but instead we were left frustrated and disappointed. Sadly, this was a negative experience with LaMacchia Travel.

Fantastic experience: I contactedLaMacchia Travel Agency for help with a trip and I was lucky to be connected with Anna. Anna was more than patient with me and all my questions, contacts and changes throughout the process. I so much appreciate her help. Anna never made me feel like I was a bother. Kudos to Anna.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I had such an amazing time on our Norwegian Cruise to the Caribbean! Jennifer made the process so easy with planning, and getting all of our accommodations taken care of. The Norwegian Escape was a fantastic ship with plenty of food, entertainment and activity options. The islands we visited during our trip were breath taking, even stopping at Kenny Chesney's famous bar he sings about Soggy Dollar during our Tortola port day. Highly recommend taking a cruise, and booking it with LaMacchia Travel, and coordinating with Jennifer!

Fantastic experience: Mindy Kleeburg went above and beyond to helo when our Alaskan Airlines cancelled our flight to meet our cruise ship. She is a fantastuc travel agent.

Negative experience: We were a little surprised at the amount of communication, or lack thereof, leading up to the trip. We had a fishing excursion cancelled due to weather, and we had to arrange through Knightley Tours ourselves. We were lucky and able to reschedule with our same fishing guide, but also had to sacrifice another booked event. The hotels were ok, surprised at getting queen beds vs 1 king. If I had not won a travel voucher, I would have booked elsewhere. To us it seemed like we were just a number because we won a voucher. So glad there are other places to book through as we are traveling more and more.

Fantastic experience: We had an excellent trip to Italy because of the help from LaMacchia Travel. Stacy catered a trip to our interests and provided us with transportation and lodging assistance. The hotels they booked us throughout Italy were the best of the best. When in need, they were always there to assist. Tom is amazing and offered endless advice throughout our process and was always willing to assist! We loved planning a trip through LaMacchia and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Fantastic experience: I never really understood the value of working with a travel agent…until I did – and now I'm a total believer. Stacy made our Spring Break trip to Riviera Maya completely painless and stress-free. From start to finish, she handled everything with ease and gave us expert advice that saved us time (like an app that helped us breeze through customs – huge win!). What made it even better? We traveled with friends who also worked with Stacy, and she seamlessly coordinated all the details for our group. It was awesome having everything lined up and knowing we were in great hands. Stacy was a joy to work with. We truly enjoyed every part of the experience.

Negative experience: They want $159 to even talk about an itinerary. Would recommend using Chat GPT instead. Way more helpful and less expensive.

Fantastic experience: Stacy helped plan our trip to the Jewel Grande Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica. She was wonderful to work with and so was her company! The resort was fantastic. We enjoyed everything about it and would not hesitate to go back there again!

Negative experience: Mindy, when working with Boomers, should know we like actual phone calls. Just using email especially when working thru conflicts just doesn't work. Next time I'll make sure to work with Jodi. Perhaps Mindy is relatively new at her job and can use this as a learning experience, I think she already got the message that a 1 hour layover is never enough time especially for international travel.

Fantastic experience: I have had the pleasure of working with LaMacchia travel on two occasions. First, LaMacchia assisted me and my family with our trip to Barcelona and Marrakesh. LaMacchia suggested our hotels, flights and excursions. The trip was a dream. Everything went perfect and we had all of our important confirmation numbers, contact info in one handy app. The recommended hotel in Barcelona has become my favorite hotel that I have ever stayed in! Our first experience with LaMacchia was so amazing, we trusted them with our family trip to Belize. They did not disappoint. Again, the hotel suggestions were perfect, transportation was seamless and our trip went off without a hitch. Nolan was very patient with me, answered all my questions and coordinated everything perfectly. Our teenage daughter and adult son joined us and told us that Belize was the best family vacation we have ever gone on. We all work so much and are constantly stressed out. She was incredible right from the start, helping determine our destination and along each step of the way. Deanna answered every question I had and made great recommendations. And when there were flight changes in the week leading up to our trip, Deanna was so patient and helped us make new arrangements. It was so great to go into the trip and not have to worry because Deanna had taken care of everything! I cannot recommend LaMacchia and Deanna enough!

Fantastic experience: LaMacchia Travel was amazing!! They booked my daughters Senior Spring Break trip to Cancun. They recommended resorts based on the type of experience she was interested and after choosing the resort, they handled everything from flights, travel to/from resort and the resort bookings. It was seamless. As a Mom traveling with two daughters it was so nice to know that anything we needed they were there to help! Highly recommend!! I had always been hesitant to use a travel agent in the past but never again! So nice to have the experts handle it especially in this crazier time of navigating travel. Tom and his team were rockstars!!

Fantastic experience: Like so many of us travelers, we thought we could save money by going through the on-line travel sites. We learned the hard way. We didn't properly fill out the covid docs to get into St. Martin and were denied our flight. We assumed that having passports and a covid card would be good enough and that we would be able to get help at the American Airlines service counter at O'Hare. That didn't work. We needed to figure this out so we wouldn't waste ANOTHER night at paid-for resort. Stressed out, and still not able to get approved to enter their country, we turned to the good people at LaMacchia Travel. Monica set us up with Alyssa. They were both wonderful! Alyssa spent over an hour with us, calling our hotel, rental car company, etc. and got us all set up for a flight the next day. All without charging us for their time and expertise. The internet was ok when things were simpler. With everything going on in this world now, We will ask LaMacchia Travel to plan our trips in the future. Thanks again, Monica and Alyssa!

Negative experience: We are sad that we decided to use a travel agency for our first time. We have always booked online without a travel agent and had great experiences. Our travel agent forced us to purchase insurance (as well as the rest of our group), however the couple that couldn’t make it due to circumstances beyond their control were told “they don’t have insurance.” When we asked our travel agent about this, she said that the couple declined the insurance.. but we told her that we all declined. Our travel agent said at the time of booking that it was mandatory to purchase insurance in order to travel to Jamaica. It’s pretty weird that the group of 12 of us were forced to purchase insurance thru LaMacchia, but the ones who needed it didn’t have it and lost out on an entire trip. We were able to go on our trip and the resort was great, but we lost a day due to flight issues and stolen baggage. The insurance company didn’t cover anything we needed. Insurance is a scam. We’ve never been forced to purchase insurance before while booking directly through a resort. I would highly recommend bypassing LaMacchia travel agency and booking directly with the resort for your trip. I feel that through this whole experience, that the travel agent was not properly trained on insurance and protocols to travel outside the United States. Most people that are looking for travel agencies are typically not familiar with travel and trust their money and vacations with an expert. Sadly, we did not receive an expert for our trip

Unfortunately, our Covid test results never came back so we couldn’t go to Maui, but Rose Marie helped us plan an impromptu second trip to Seattle. She was kind, understanding, and went above and beyond to help make the trip happen! We could not be more appreciative!

There was a small issue with one of the pools at the Resort; Monica contacted her rep and as a result we received an upgrade. We never expected it, or requested it, Monica went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. I would never use anyone else but LaMacchia. All the staff is very helpful and friendly.

I have done business with Tom and Monica Karnes for personal and professional travel and they and thier staff have always come through; arranging for 20 colleagues to attend a professional conference, a couples get away, or the best family vacations ever, I wouldn't dream of calling anyione else.

Because we were unsure of where to go on our vacation, they sat down with us, went over dozens of options, discussed the pros and cons of each and really helped us make our decision(Punta Cana). Fantastic experience: We have used LaMacchia Travel on several of our vacations, the latest was one of our best vacations ever. I asked Tom for an all inclusive resort that was higher end, adults only, and private. Tom gave me about 10 different options and went over all of them with me. We selected the El Dorado Maroma in the Riviera Maya. It was amazing, the food was spectacular, it was not over crowded since it only has 70+ rooms and no other resorts for miles around it, the spa was great (I highly recommend the moonlight couples massage), you could choose from the pool or the beach and never have to search for a chair or bed to relax in, and all for a very reasonable price. Tom and Monica are always aiming to please and will do whatever they can to accommodate you.
