Fantastic experience: If you’re considering going on their guided shed hunt, just do it! We had so much fun with Brandon, he’s a laid back guy with a great sense of humor. We had mentioned turkey hunting and he took us turkey hunting instead of shed hunting the last day and both of us ended up tagging turkeys that morning. Brittany is also great and checks in regularly to take care of you during your stay. Of course, we can’t forget to mention the star of the show… Yota. Such a sweet and smart dog and is great at finding antlers! Strongly recommend Allagash guide service!

Fantastic experience: Four of us got a ride from Allagash to Eagle Lake, and our experience was great. Our driver was friendly, with lots of good advice for our paddling trip, and drove safely. The communication was smooth while making the reservation.

From booking the cabin to having Brandon guide us on Halloween it was a pleasure! They made it very easy for a group of first timers. Brandon is very good at what he does and I’ve never seen passion for the woods like he has. They are great people and they made our trip 10/10!

Fantastic experience: I'd been on several guided bear hunts, all without success. It was evident from the start that Allagash would be different. The guides were all very passionate about the work that they do and worked very hard to get everybody on a bear. It's very clear that this is not just a paycheck for them, it's their lifestyle and reputation that is riding on these hunts. Dave was a fantastic guide and put me on a bear the first afternoon- a 200 lbs. boar. He followed up with giving me advice on taxidermy and butchering. I can't recommend this guide service enough. I've hunted Canada, the US, and Africa- I say without hesitation that Allagash is among the best I've hunted with.

Fantastic experience: Just returned home from a bear hunt with Allagash Guide Service. I can’t express how happy I was with the whole experience. From Brandon and Britt booking the hunt to all of the guides pitching in and making the hunt a great experience to making the down time enjoyable. Last but not least the kitchen stuff prepared great meals. I highly recommend booking with AGS.

Fantastic experience: Used AGS to shuttle my truck during an Allagash river trip last summer. Planning was easy, communication was fast and friendly, and truck was moved. Couldn't have been easier or gone more smoothly. Planning to shuttle with them again this summer (and hopefully every summer after that :) ) Update: They went above and beyond with my trip this summer. Not only were they great to work with again and moved the truck as requested. But they also provided some helpful insights and guidance to my trip planning that made the trip even better than I would have planned myself. If you have a Garmin inreach, I suggest providing them with the number so that you can get a notification when your vehicle is moved, was good to know when and that it was completed.

Fantastic experience: Just finished up a 5 day trip on the Allagash River. AGS came in clutch with their shuttle service saving us from having to bring two vehicles. This is our second time using them but first time having them shuttle our vehicle. When we hauled out, our vehicle was right where we were told it would be. They are professional and very prompt with responding to any questions you may have. Would highly recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic experience: We used Allagash Guide Service to shuttle the truck for our trip down the Allagash and we couldn’t be happier with the service! They made everything super easy, and our truck was right in town when we made it there. So nice to not have to worry about going back for it after a trip down the river! Fantastic experience: My son and I just completed a canoe trip down the Allagash Waterway led by Brandon Lane. I can't speak more highly of Brandon and his wife, Britt. The service provided before the trip by both Brandon and Britt was superb, no planning detail was overlooked and all communication was honest and authentic. The cabin we stayed at the night before was perfect for staging. The gear they provided and the food brought on the trip was first class. On the river, Brandon was exceptionally skilled at guiding and leading camp set-up, meal preparation and ensuring we were comfortable during occasional rainstorms. My son and I both feel strongly that a great part of the value of the trip came from getting to know Brandon himself. He's an exceptional individual who is so competent in so many areas of guiding in the Maine woods. He is truly a joy to be with. Brandon may, in fact, be the last of the true Allagash guides, few, if any, do what he does. Do not miss out on spending time with Brandon on any of his various trips. You will be amazed.

Fantastic experience: Brandon and Brittany were incredible hosts and made the trip extremely relaxing and carefree. We came up for a moose antler hunt and Brandon gave us the ability to do some remote fishing when we wanted a break from walking the woods. Start and end times were totally flexible based on how we were feeling and we still came home with some great antlers and pictures. Overall, highly recommended if you want the true North Woods experience.

Positive experience: We did get our moose the first day. We were disappointed that it was cut up in the woods and not dragged out. The guide stated it would have been too difficult. Also, only one guide back at the lodge really talked to us, Todd. The other guides and people talked to us very little. It was uncomfortable.

The lodging is very comfortable and cozy with tons of maine decor, Brittany's home cooked meals are amazing and sitting by the fire you always hear some awesome adventures that both they and their guests have had! If you are thinking of a maine adventure this is the place to be, hunting fishing, trapping, canoeing you name it and they can make it happen!!

Fantastic experience: When your daughter’s dream was to be drawn for a moose permit and complete the Maine grand slam you put your trust in the Professionals! A once in a lifetime hunt for most people and Brandon Brittany and their team of Registered Maine Guides gave us a hunt to remember. We are not trophy hunters, we hunt to out meat in the freezer and make memories. We’ll not only did Gary Sibley put Lexa on an incredible bull, he called said bull away from 8 cows! We have hunted with Brandon for more than 7 years and each hunt is even more memorable than the last! Not happy with a great hunt they strive for a wicked awesome hunt and constantly find ways to improve their sportsman’s visit!

Fantastic experience: This guiding service is the real deal. Brandon is a total animal, and I say that as a huge compliment. I was just a subpermittee on the third week in a row of Zone 4 (Maine) having a 1-week cow moose hunt. It might have been long odds. It probably was. Very long. But Brandon knew the area, and more importantly he knew the type of terrain/habitat where we'd likely find fresh moose tracks in the snow. We found them. Brandon led us -- relentlessly -- in pursuit of nearby moose. Less than 24 hours from when the hunting started, Brandon -- himself following tracks -- had led us to a beautiful cow and my buddy executed with his rifle. Help was available to get the moose out easily. If you're willing to work half as hard as Brandon in the woods, you're probably going to have a good trip if you go with him! Extremely knowledgeable, a true work horse, highly professional. Also thoughtful and friendly. I give him my highest recommendation to anyone willing to get out in the woods and do some real hunting. I certainly hope to enjoy the outdoors with him again some day.

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough good about the communication, hospitality, and skills of Brandon and his team. I booked a fully guided Moose hunt in June, immediately after being drawn for the 4A (adaptive), knowing I was under prepared to do it alone—of the several guides I contacted providing service in this area, Brandon was the only one to get back to me the same day! After confirming with Allagash Guide Service in July, I spent the rest of the summer preparing for this once-in-a-lifetime experience—emailing with Brandon’s wife Brittany whenever I had questions—it did not disappoint. From the beginning, Brandon explained each step of the hunt to me, which gave me the confidence I needed to seal the deal when the opportunity presented itself. After an exciting first day tracking moose in the snow, I quickly realized that despite my preparations this would be a tough hunt—we walked nearly 10 miles day one chasing tracks! Upon starting day two, I wondered just how long I would last in the North Woods of Maine. Nevertheless I was going to keep after it. And as Brandon told me: if we don’t get one it won’t be from not trying… His determination lifted my spirits to the point where I did not want to let him down. We dutifully plunged forward and found a fresh track, which we followed for nearly 2 and a quarter miles. Suddenly Brandon beckoned me to the front where I could clearly see a large cow through the timber at around 100 yds. I lifted my gun, confirmed her status, and squeezed the trigger. The next few minutes were a bit frantic, as Brandon confirmed blood and we began to track through the melting snow. Another 50 yds up the trail we found her bedded down and I was able to fire a finishing round before she was capable of running further. At this point, Brandon and his team did as they said they would and quartered the moose and provided all that was needed to get her out, including packs and a total of three guides to help carry. I was prepared to count success as an adventure to Northern Maine. What I got was all that and more! Burgers on the tailgate after the trek out were the icing on the cake and tasted as good as any meal I’ve ever had… The top notch service continued through the tagging station and loading the moose into my truck for the drive to the butcher’s! Many thanks to Brandon, his wife Brittany and the rest of the crew —Noah, Gary, and Foggy Mountain guide service (for accommodations and fantastic fare!). I highly recommend Allagash Guide Service to anyone looking for a memory-filled outdoor experience!

Fantastic experience: Two of us went on a bear hound hunt and came home with 2 bear. If you go on a hunt with Brandon and don't come home with a bear it won't be from a lack of trying Brandon worked his tail off to get us bear.

Fantastic experience: Myself and 3 friends did a Guided Bear over Bait hunt with Allagash Guide Service in their Remote Camp back in 2018. Brittany and Brandon were excellent to work with from start to finish - even with my hundreds of questions! They always responded timely, professional and with the truth. Accommodations were fantastic - Lodging, Food and Hospitality were all top notch for the remote camp option we went with for our trip. Our Guide and Cook in camp were knowledgeable, fun and very personable. Top notch operation! Booked another Bear over Bait hunt for this fall (2023) and didn't even think about looking for other Outfitters/Guides - we knew exactly where we wanted to go!

Fantastic experience: Allagash Guide Services did an excellent job of being where they said they’d be when they said they would. Dropped our truck off at Michaud Farm (our take out point) and put us in the river at Henderson Bridge. A perfect week on Round Pond and just enough river to satisfy this 73 year old! I’d use them again on our next trip!!

Fantastic experience: We've been using Allagash guide service since 1995 back when Sean and Kelley ran it. They were awesome. Since Brittany and Brandon took over it's been just as great. They've been able to accommodate all of our requests. Us, our gear and vehicles have always been transported, picked up or left exactly where and when it was planned. They take away any concerns of spending time in a remote area such as the Maine North Woods.

Fantastic experience: We had a great canoe trip putting in at Churchill Dam, and ending in Allagash. They were quick to answer my questions via e-mail or telephone. Communication was clear and easy. I felt confident going into the trip that they were a responsible company that definitely had their ducks in a row. We stayed at their camp, which was clean, spacious, and fully stocked. Brittany even came to check on us when we arrived a little later than we expected. Everything went seamlessly and I absolutely would recommend them to others.

Fantastic experience: We came to Allagash, Maine for a bear hunt. Dennis was our guide for the week and he was great. Took us in and freshen up the bait stations. Picked us up at the end of the day giving us plenty of time for our hunt. We didn't get and bear this trip but I look forward to coming back. Brittany and Brandon are the best and offer many types of hunts can't go wrong going with Allagash Guide Service if you want a great hunt and experience.

Fantastic experience: I just returned from spending a week in the Maine North Woods with Allagash Guide Service. This is definitely a top shelf operation. Brittany and Brandon Lane know what it takes to deliver a memorable experience for their clients. If you want to observe a dedicated houndsman just spend a week with Brandon and his four legged crew.  Don't expect to loose any weight at AGS as the food prepared by Brittany is great and there was always plenty of it. The accommodations at the main lodge were excellent.  The hunting was great, plenty of birds and a couple of intense bear chases that put out a couple of healthy bears of which one real nice bear is now in my freezer and at my taxidermist. You ask would I do it again?  You bet I would.

Fantastic experience: Rented a camp for a self-guided moose hunt in zone 1. Brandon and Brittany were excellent hosts throughout. Brandon was engaged with us daily and although we were self-guided he provided us with expert knowledge of the area and pointed us in the right direction to get on a moose. We were able to harvest a moose on our last day and were very appreciative of Brandon's willingness to loan us rope to pull the moose to the road. Once back to camp they provided us with all the ice they had left to help us keep the moose cool. If you are headed to the Allagash this is the outfit you want to get hooked up with!

They handle everything: lodging, food, transportation to and from hunting sites, etc. This was my first bear hunt and I was thoroughly impressed with the knowledge of the owners and the guides. My guide was "Big M" and he made the trip even more enjoyable with his humor and hunting tips. I was able to get a bear on my second night in the woods which gave me time to also do some fishing while I was there. I am definitely planning to hunt with Allagash Guide Service again. They were also quite flexible, providing our group with vital information that would impact our trip.
