Negative experience: I was broke down 30 miles west from Fargo and was told the only tow company they could have come get me was in Jamestown and they were going to charge $500

Fantastic experience: Wandered in one afternoon looking for a new Atlas since our old one what's 7 years old. I was greeted immediately by a very friendly woman. Not only did she get me the atlas but was happy to help me find some brochures, tour books, maps etc for our vacation next summer to Tennessee. Thank you for your wonderful service!

Fantastic experience: Visited the office to get an International Driving Permit. No appointment was needed. I was greeted upon arrival and the process was quick. A Passport photo is needed for the IDP, and they do them in the office. Very friendly staff. Was even offered bottled water (I’m not even a AAA member!) Nice experience; highly recommend.

Negative experience: I've been a member for a couple years. I called today to ask for help from some man that was working (don't remember his name). His answer to my question was go look it up on Google. I will probably be canceling my membership if these are the kind of guest service members they hire.

Fantastic experience: Went in for an IDP, no appointment necessary, brought in a filled out application. Had my photos taken for $12, and was in and out in less than 30 min. Lori was excellent in her customer service skills as well as her knowledge of where I was going which was greatly appreciated and made me look forward to my trip!

Fantastic experience: Driving a 1987 Motorhome we bought from Seattle back home to Climax, MN and got 37 miles outside of Bismarck when it blew a hole in the radiator. AAA was able to locate us and get a tow back to Bismarck. The tow company owner went above and beyond to make sure we got it to the best RV / Truck repair shop to get it fixed. Due to the holiday weekend, the shop is not going to be able to get it fixed/ replaced until next week. The shop owner went above and beyond to make sure that we had a ride to the airport to get the rental car. We were able to get home safe last night. Thanks to all the “angels “ we had looking out for us. You just don’t get service like that anymore these days.

Negative experience: Waited 3 hours for a “24/7” Tow Truck to arrive to be told that all their service providers are off duty. I have since canceled my subscription with them due to the fact of not being informed that the trucks were off duty.

Negative experience: I'm starting to think I wasted my money. I called about a month ago for help getting out of a snowbank. The weather was bad and I was refused service. I was in an unpopulated area and would have been in big trouble if a Caterpillar hadn't come by. Tonight I was going to have to wait two hours to get a flat tire changed. Someone came and helped me out even before I was notified when help would come. So far...total waste of money and time. I will NOT be renewing.

Negative experience: We were dissatisfied with our service from AAA last week. Our son was stranded and had to pay an additional $120.00 (the cost we would have paid out of pocket WITHOUT AAA would have been $130.00) to get his car home. The AAA Roadside assistance agent we spoke to was not very nice and AAA offered nothing to us - would not refund our membership (which cost $120.00 and which we just renewed this month) and would not offer an upgrade of service or anything. We had signed up for the Classic service and had no idea that it only towed 5 miles. Even the classic service is very expensive for an incidental coverage plan and we would not want to pay an additional 60.00 for an already overpriced service. We were disappointed and definitely will not renew our AAA service ever again. We will be looking for other options.

Negative experience: AAA IS HORIBLE!! On Jan. 6th, my family and I were in an auto accident. I was pulling an enclosed trailer when I hit some black ice on Interstate 94. The vehicle and trailer ended up in the median & my SUV was jack knifed and sticking out blocking 1/2 the passing lane at 9:30 pm. I immediately called 911, while my wife called AAA. The first thing we both explained was that we were unable to move the vehicle and we were blocking 1/2 of the passing lane on a busy interstate. The trooper got there quickly, blocked off the passing lane and called a tow truck, while in the meantime, the AAA rep. kept my wife on the phone at length asking multiple questions instead of dispatching a tow truck immediately and then calling her back for further information. My wife repeatedly told the rep that we were blocking the passing lane. In addition to that, we had to pay an additional $14.35 to cover having the trailer towed. The AAA rep. was still on the phone with my wife (asking her life story) when the tow truck arrived that the state trooper had called. The trooper understandably insisted that we use this towing service because we were in a dangerous situation. AAA never did dispatch a tow truck and couldn't guarantee that they would cover another towing company. They would send out a form that would have to be filled out and mailed back in requesting reimbursement - again with no guarantee of reimbursement. Luckily, Progressive covered the entire towing bill, so I threw that form away. Today, I called to have them remove the extra $14.35 for the service they never provided and they flat out REFUSED! I talked to 2 different people and got "we don't give refunds for AAA". I couldn't believe it!! I immediately cancelled my membership. I want nothing to do with a company who has zero integrity or customer service!! They deserve less than a 1 star rating!!!
