Negative experience: The bank has the worst service of any institution I have ever dealt with. Just spent 30 minutes on hold trying to understand why they would put a 3 day hold on my pension check which comes every month from a Fortune 500 company. This is not the first time I have had an issue with their holds. When I opened my account with a BANK CHECK they put a 9 day hold on my account and never told me. I had no access to my own money for 2 weeks. Absolutely ridiculous. Do not use this bank they are awful and it’s impossible to reach them when there is an issue and there always is.

Negative experience: Waiting 10 days for new debit card. Went to Manchester office - closest branch is 40 minute drive - their machine was down - had to request one to be mailed. Now 10 days out, still no new card, no access to cash. Called the credit union - on hold 30 minutes - no one picked up.

Negative experience: I went to this branch to open an account. When I walked in the doors it was a little confusing on where to go. As I wandered around trying to find the bank I came upon three employees in the middle of some personal chat/story. I felt like I was in a Frat house. The young man was down in some football player stance babbling on loudly to his female coworkers. Not only was I not acknowledged by any of them he barely moved out of my way. Then a lady inside an office asked me what I was looking for and when I said “I’d like to open an account” she acted as if I’d asked her to clean under my toenails. Very put out acting so I left immediately and opened my account elsewhere. As I was leaving that same young man was hollering at someone clear down the hall at the top of his voice. Such an unprofessional atmosphere.

Fantastic experience: First, I took out an auto loan with a great interest rate and paid it off, currently have a checking acct and a CD. Never even the slightest problem other than Nutmeg having an antique website. I understand that is changing very soon! Just when I learned the old one! It figures. I would highly recommend this financial institution.

Fantastic experience: I first started as a customer nearly 10 years ago when I lived in CT, well I moved from CT three years ago and when I need information about my account all I have to do is pickup the phone and I get to talk with a live person - they make sure to verify my identity and go to great lengths to do so - I love Nutmeg State FCU!!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member of Nutmeg Credit Union member for 12 years and I’ve never had an issue. The customer service has always been great, be it via telephone or in person at my local bank or even in another town. I’ve been to other locations out of town and I can honestly say, the service has always been great regardless what location I go to or how I’m communicating with a Nutmeg staff member. I always walk away or hang up completely satisfied.

Negative experience: The Glas branch is not at all what it used to be. The atms are the primary option and they rarely work. Customer service is extremely disappointing. With that said, the young lady named Christine (Christina?) is the only reason we stay with Nutmeg. When she is there she is wonderful to work with and very helpful. The others could learn a lot from her

Fantastic experience: I have been a member since 2013 by recommendation of one of your other members and I have NEVER been happier with the service, competence, kindness and professionalism of a "financial institution". Nutmeg has been there for me to help me through a few struggles and resolve a few financial matters and I recommend Nutmeg to ALL friends and family. Positive experience: Excellent customer service. The staff is always friendly and patient. The machines used for deposit and withdrawals are often down or don’t work when used. I hope this branch invests more in people rather than machines. Staff is great. I prefer to work with people than machines.

Positive experience: The main issue I face using Nutmeg State Financial is that every time I go to with draw or deposit money the 3 machines they installed sit there broken.

Negative experience: The manager of this branch looks so unprofessional every time i come to the bank. Today she was wearing sweat pants with sneakers, a shirt you would wear to bed and her hair was a mess she literally looks like she just rolled out of bed. Every other employee in that building is dressed very nicely and she’s supposed to be a manager. She always seems to have an attitude and always looks like she is in way over her head for her position. I was shocked to find out that she is actually the manager of 2 branches.

Negative experience: *Updating review 8 months later. The drive-through is still not open… The machine is not working… And the “tellers” were eating powdered donuts while I wait. Bring back the tellers, the machines are always having issues. And the drive though is never open.

Negative experience: Employees are great! Bank could be better. Was unknowingly less than $5 short of my car payment, came to pay the overdue balance the same business day, and they STILL charged me an overdraft fee. I’ll stick with my other financial institution.

Negative experience: today i walked in to put money in my account. I had change rolled up and the drivethru was closed. I went inside like a normal human being and they kicked me out because i didnt have a mask. this is unacceptable. I will be moving to another bank if i can find one.

Negative experience: I move to CT About 3 months ago and needed a cashiers check for the deposit on my apartment. I called my credit union back in my home state and was told that this location was a shared branch and they should be able to do it. I went in and was told that they are a shared branch but unfortunately they were not able to do a cashiers check but gave me the name and location of another credit union that would. No problem, i understood that there were limits to what they could do. I was told that the services they could offer me were that I could withdraw money free of charge from their ATM and in person, although there would be a limit to the amount. That was great to hear since it would take me a while to get everything transfered up here. Moving foward to 1.5 months from that time, Iwent to their drive through ATM and withdrew money from my account and was charged for it. I went ahead and just paid for it since i needed the cash immediately and thought maybe I misheard the teller wrong and I could only withdraw in person. No problem. Now, this past weekend I went in to withdraw money and parked my car, waited in line inside and told the teller I needed to make a withdrawal. Explained that i didnt have an account with them but i did with one of their shared branches. She told me that I wouldnt be able to. So i explained and told her what was told to me in all my previous visits and she told me no, that they dont even do shared branches so its not possible. I have no idea where i was given the wrong information, but the fact that I keep getting different information everytime i called or went in is unacceptable and a waste of my time. There would not even have been a problem if they had been straight forward with me from the beginning and told me that they didnt do shared branches or if they do tell me what I can actually do there. I was actually appreciative of them after my first visit when they pointed me in the right direction, but they kept changing their story. Teach your staff to say "I'm not sure, let me check" or a simple "no" would have been fine. Instead i kept getring contradicting or false info. I really wanted to open up my new account with them since they are so close with me, but after all of this I decided to go with American Eagle instead. Much better costumer service and straightforward honesty.

Negative experience: Poor customer service. Poor rates, don’t apply for loans here it is a scam. transfer card is a scam. (6 month?) Take your SSN like it’s nothing. Be careful. Make you feel like you will get loan , have you apply then deny and change terms to pressure you. Bait n switch card , debt consolidation but 6 months (after can go up to 30% APR!?!?!) .
