Fantastic experience: A large group of cyclists from Washington state just finished a ride from Montreal, Quebec, to Burlington Vermont. The route was well-organized, the scenery was magnificent, the lodgings were very nice, the bicycles were well-maintained and comfortable--every detail was carefully tended to by Great American Bike Tours. Well, I guess GABT didn't have control over the scenery... This is our second ride with GABT (the other was Erie Canal, also a great trip!), and we continue to be impressed!

Fantastic experience: The Petit Train du Nord and Champlain Islands was a fantastic experience. We had a rather large group, and working with Diane on all the details was trouble free. She responded quickly to answer any questions we had. The trip was well planned, and all the details were very well explained in advance to everyone. Diane and her team work hard to make the entire tour experience pleasant and enjoyable and the ride itself is just beautiful.

Fantastic experience: The hotels on the GABT itinerary are very good -- comfotable rooms and excellent food. Diane and her crew provide great bicycle support. Each morning begins with a brief analysis of the day's route, and GABT is well-equipped to provide support in case of a mechanical problem.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I enjoyed the Petit Train du Nord in search of fall colors. We were not disappointed. It was a spectacular ride on excellent bike trails and country roads away from heavy traffic. Diane and her crew were attentive to all our needs, bicycle repairs/replacement, alternate plans when wrinkled in the schedule occurred and overnight accommodations. Their dedication to our needs and comfort was exemplary and I would recommend the Great American Bike Tours to anyone, no matter your level of biking experience.

Fantastic experience: The Erie Canal Trail bike ride far exceeded my expectations. The scenery was beautiful, the bikes were well-maintained and comfortable, our guides were personable and attentive, attention was paid to all the details, and above all, it was an incredible history lesson. Diane is not only a superb host, cyclist, mechanic, and business owner, she is environmentally and civically minded. The bag of reusable utensils and straw that she handed out as part of our SWAG became a habit to bring to breakfast and take to the ice cream shops (for our milkshakes, of course). They continue to travel with me so that I'm no longer using single-use plastic silverware or straws. Thank you Diane, Charlie, Laura, Leann, and Tammy for a memorable trip (and birthday celebration)!

Fantastic experience: This is a beautiful must do bike trip. Diane and the staff were very helpful. We leveraged ride gps for realtime route guidance and they planned check-in, lunch and scenic stops. It was a really well organized trip with great people. Loved it and would do another trip

They really are the experts on the canal and cycling it.

Fantastic experience: My wife, son- in- law, and I joined Diane and Ron (Great American) for this summers Petit Train du Nord ride. We averaged about 40 miles a day on paved/gravel rail trails. Diane and Ron really did a great job of organizing the entire trip, everything from hotels, food stops, sags, directions, etc. I appreciated their low-key approach and daily encouragements. Fantastic experience: First-time rider and patron of this company for the Florida Coast to Coast ride. I really appreciated all the high quality support and encouragement from our leader Ron and his trusty aide, Dennis. Accomodations were good, food was plentiful and good balance of riding time and play/relax time. I rented a bike that was tended to daily. Highly recommend this company to biking enthusiasts. Many repeat customers on this ride which was a great validation of the quality of their efforts.

Positive experience: Just finished a great ride, Florida Coast to Coast. Not every mile was scenic but what better way to escape winter. Our guide, Ron, guided us through bad weather and rough spots to make the trip safe and comfortable. The company offers great value with the food, hotels, and logistics. Looking forward to my next trip.

Fantastic experience: I had a great time on the the Ohio to Erie Trail with Great American Bike Tours. Diane, Ron, Tammy and Steve were great leaders. They were organized, provided great support, and made the week alot of fun. Our accommodations were beautiful and the picnic lunches were great. The team provided great ride support. Fantastic experience: Just completed the amazing Ohio to Erie rail trail biking trip with Great American Bike Tours (GABT). This is our 2nd trip with GABT and this trip was even better than the first! Team was super attentive and really went the extra mile to make sure that we had a wonderful experience. Lovely accommodations, great bicycles that were adjusted for optimal cycling, daily review of what to expect on the trail including interesting landmarks, rest stops, and any areas that might prove tricky to navigate! Before we started the ride, we had a gathering to meet the GABT team and all the other cyclists. We received a fabulous swag bag with a very nice insulated water bottle, quick dry cycling t shirt and a set of travel silverware! This bag even included a cover to place over the opening of the water bottle to enhance safety since there was a day where we might share the trail with horses. GABT is passionately committed to caring for the environment and reducing unnecessary waste. We used our silverware at breakfast and on the days that GABT had great picnics on the trail for us. We have ridden with other companies, however the team’s enthusiasm and attention to the details that really matter make Great American Bike Tours the right fit for us!

Fantastic experience: Amazing trip cycling along the Erie Canal with Great American Bike Tours. Diane and her team planned a perfect trip and provided support to our group. She provides regular bikes and electric bikes both in great condition and up to the task. We rode 404 miles with no problems. This is a Great way to see the countryside and learn the history of the Erie Canal. I highly recommend it.

Fantastic experience: We biked with GABT this July along the Erie Canal Bike Trail and had a great time. Ron was always upbeat and positive and happy to help in any way. The trail is well maintained and flat and passes through some charming towns along the way. We would definitely recommend this tour group!

Fantastic experience: My wife and I just got back from riding our tandem on the Erie Canal Trail, Buffalo to Albany. Originally we had planed to ride it self supported but changed our minds when we discovered Great American Bike Tours. Going fully supported with a company that has been doing this trip for several years made for a great stress free vacation. Our guides were friendly, knowledgeable about the history of the canal and points of interest along the route. Each day included check point stops, so we could refuel with drinks and snacks before setting off again. In the evenings our group would gather together to socialize over food and drink. Fantastic experience: Fantastic tour of the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail Dorval to Scarborough, Canada. So well organized and planned. Fantastic experience: I had a great time on the Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard trip. The scenery was amazing and Ron and Steve (tour guides) were friendly and helpful. There were options to adjust the length of the trail routes and plenty of water refills and snacks. The e-bike was comfortable and well-maintained. The company put on the requested toe clips and brought the correct size bike. I was also pleased with the roomy trunk for some shopping! The accommodation and food were very good. I highly recommend Great American Bike Tours and will be going on another vacation with them. It's a professionally run and organized company.

Fantastic experience: I want to thank Diane Kolifrath of Great American Bike Tours and her terrific staff for such a perfectly organized bike tour along the Erie Canal from Buffalo to Albany, NY. Their tremendous team approach, expertise, and attention to details was very noteably on display, and resulted in one of my most enjoyable bike tours. The food was of excellent quality and well-sourced. Finally, even though Diane couldn't control the weather, she had an uncanny ablility to forecast it perfectly. When she says you WILL get wet in 8 minutes, you better take her for her word! She has some better connections than anything online for this!

Fantastic experience: My brother and I had a great time on the Buffalo-to-Albany bike ride with Great American Bike Tours. This was our first bike tour. Diane and her team supported us throughout the ride with enthusiasm, directions, food, lodging, and on-trail bike maintenance and repairs (we rented ebikes from Diane). We appreciated her team and enjoyed time with the members of our tour group. We experienced wonderful sights and sounds along the canal, and learned a lot of interesting history about the beginnings of America and the influence of the Erie Canal in helping to create the United States. If you are interested in participating in a bike ride along the Erie Canal or other tour locations, I am pleased to recommend Diane and her team.

Fantastic experience: The Erie Canal bike tour with GABT was great fun! The planning and attention to detail that went into this tour was apparent. Biking along the trail was a highlight, but there were also numerous activities, like a boat ride along a lock, museum stops, and viewing the Cohoes Falls that enhanced the fun. The support all along the way was ever-present and always positive. A must-do ride!

Fantastic experience: The 9 Day Erie Canal Trip was fantastic. It was well organized, days went smoothly, and we learned a lot about the history of the region. Diane and Team were always nearby to support flats, tired bikers, etc. We rented bikes which were way better than our bikes at home.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I rode with Great American Bike Tours on their relatively new tour, the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail-- along the St Lawrence River----basically from Montreal to Toronto in late August 2023. We had a blast! The routes were clearly marked, the sag van was always around, and the lodgings were good. While the tour does not exactly mirror the river bank, it was close enough---- via the roads, byways, and occasional greenways, we were entertained with views of the river, plus the incredible farmlands and rural lifestyle of southern Canada. The different towns and villages along the way were perfect for an occasional stop, but we were surprised by the lack of good coffee shops in general, and the food was mostly just average each night in the small towns along the way. Most days averages 40-50 miles and the rented bicycles, guides, and fellow riders were perfect !! We had a great group and we would definitely recommend this trip, as we are veteran bike tourists with different outfitters. This was the first time we had ridden with Great American Bike Tours, and it hopefully won't be the last!

Fantastic experience: I have gone on 5 bike tours with Great American Bike Tours, and each one was better than the last. I have taken the West and East halves of the Erie Canal Tour, Le Petit Train du Nord, Cape Cod & Martha's Vineyard, and recently the Ohio to Erie Trail. The support is great, along the trail and in hotels, and I have been able to bring my own bike, a 2 wheel recumbent, which fits on the trailer with the other bikes. Most times I have also used the shuttle to return to my car. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: The Great American Bike Tours New Hampshire Covered Bridge Tour, held early October, was simply amazing. It was so much fun getting to know the other participants and share our biking experiences. The tour company could't have been more professional and prepared to make our five days a trip to remember. They arranged wonderful trails to ride, a boat ride, transported all our bikes and gear, the hotels, many meals, and provided lots of snacks and drinks all day long. Each day one of the tour leaders was the trail sweeper to be sure no one got lost or was in trouble and they had check points along the way where the stocked van was ready to provide assistance, snacks and water. They even hosted a few happy hours for us! What a great way to end the day. At the last minute I decided to rent an electric bike from them as I recovered from recent knee surgery. Not only was the bike a dream to ride, the tour leaders made sure to check the battery frequently each day to make sure it was charged (though it never needed a charge the entire trip). I highly recommend taking one of their tours.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I were so pleased with the Erie Canal ride we took in 2022, we joined Great American Bike tours for their Petit Train du Nord and Champlain Islands tour this year (2023). It did not disappoint! We had a wonderful time from start to finish. As usual, it was meticulously planned down to the smallest detail for our comfort, safety and happiness as the number 1 priority. Our bikes were in great shape every day and we never had a single problem with them. It was great to see Ron and Steve again, and meet Diane in person for the first time. The three of them couldn't do enough for us. The ride was really gorgeous, we did it in late September and Canada was breathtaking. We crossed the border into the US in Vermont and it was delightful to bike the Champlain Islands, the Causeway and ride the 2 minute ferry! We look forward to our next ride with Great American Bike Tours!

Fantastic experience: I joined the Cape Cod-Martha's Vineyard bike tour with this past September 2023. This was my second trip with Great American Bike Tours. My first trip was the Eerie Canal East on September 2022. I've really enjoyed the staff professionalism, attention to details, great routes and cordial atmosphere of both trips. Biking with Great American Bike Tours is a lot of fun, good exercise and a great way to explore the country and meet new friends. I highly recommend them!

Fantastic experience: For my husband's 70th birthday this past year we participated in the Great American Bike Tour's, "Petit Train du Nord and Champlain Islands" tour. We had such a great experience, the trip was well planned, with great attention to all the details, lodging, food, snacks, touring time each day and fun things to do along the way. The very best part of the trip though, was the great people we met, Diane, Ron and Steve the tour group leaders and all the other people who participated in the trip. Fantastic experience: We recently rode on the Martha’s Vineyard/Cape Cod tour. It was a great combination of riding and touring - plenty of free time to explore. Fantastic experience: I participated in the Great American bike tours cape cod tour. I had a wonderful time. These folks treat you like family. Everything was taken care of - bike and luggage transport, room reservations in nice hotels and recommendations for local attractions and restaurants. I've done 3 tours with them and will be planning one for 2024.

Fantastic experience: Cycle the USA is a superb tour company. They are extremely detailed and yet appear to be relaxed the whole time! The little extras like T-shirts and happy hour add a nice dimension. But mostly we appreciate their careful planning, their pre trip information, and their friendly approach. We are repeat customers and will travel with them again.

Fantastic experience: We did the Petit Train Du Nord & Champlain Islands tour this past with Great American Bike Tours this past October. This trip is a must-do for anyone. The province of Quebec has done an extraordinary job in constructing a path over very long distances, and you absolutely have to see it. It was particularly beautiful with the start of the fall colors. Small towns along the way are extremely interesting to visit. It's important to remember that a lot of people speak (only) French, but we found that people were friendly, helpful and warm. Speaking of helpful and warm, we can't say enough good about Great American Bike Tours. Diane and her crew put in a very high level of effort into most everything they do. The route is very well planned out; in fact, we had done portions of this ride by ourselves a while ago, and we can say for a fact that their routes are superior to the one we took. So, we have directly experienced the value of taking an organized tour instead of trying it yourself. while it's possible to plan a tour yourself, an experienced tour company will know much, much more about the route and the surrounding environment. One pro tip: plan on a few extra days at the beginning and end of the ride. Montreal and Burlington Vt are definitely worth a visit. Bagels in Montreal and a Maple Creamy in Burlington. Heaven. In summary, sign up for this tour, you won't be disappointed.

Fantastic experience: My trip in May 2023 on the GAP with Great American Bike Tours was my first experience with this company. Diane, Ron, and their assistant were warm, personable, accommodating, and great to have as guides. This adventure was well organized, fun, never went thirsty or hungry, and had time to enjoy and learn , stopping at the historic sites. I'm hoping to participate in another tour in the future. It was such an enjoyable way to travel !

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend the Ohio to Erie 9 day bike tour sponsored by Great American Bike Tours! The autumn scenery was spectacular despite a few rain showers along the way. If you are up to biking 40 to 50 miles for seven days on flat trails, you will enjoy this tour, especially in the fall.

Fantastic experience: Joined the group for the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail tour in July 2023. Accommodations were varied and interesting; the transfer of bikes, gear and baggage worked well; and the riding was challenging and enjoyable. The staff were caring and attentive. Our weather was stunning — perhaps 10 minutes of rain during the week! — which enhanced the overall experience. I would recommend this tour!

Positive experience: Erie Canalway Trail with Great American Bike Tours We joined the Eastern half of the Erie Canalway Trail tour with Great American Bike Tours. Many of our small group did the Western half two years ago and had such a great experience that we decided to do the Eastern half this year with them. I enjoyed the tour very much. The biking was fabulous, and I felt well supported the whole time. If you are thinking about doing the Erie Canal trail, I'd encourage you to do it with Great American Bike Tours!

Fantastic experience: I recently, did a tour with GABT to New Hampshire and was called "NH Covered Bridges tour" Oct. 1-5 2023. I was with 3 of my girlfriends, and it was amazing! And OMG the bridges were beautiful, the trails were scenic and it was such a beautiful week! Diane and Ron are the best along with all the guides they have used on their tours. On this specific tour Diane was there, along with Tammy, who was amazing! I have taken 3 tours with Great American Bike Tours and they have all been amazing to include, Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and The Erie Canal. I love how the rides are all planned in advance and easy to follow along with the Ride with GPS App. Diane and her team are all hard-working and plan all the details, from hotels, food, and the amazing bike trails we ride on! Fantastic experience: Great trip. Well=planned, service great, friendly. professional, rental bikes professionally maintained prior to trip and continuously during trip. Fantastic experience: I am on my third bike tour with Diane and the Great American Bike Tours (Petit Train du Nord, Ohio to Erie and Cross NH Adventure Trail). Diane and her staff are excellent hosts and guides. They have thought out every detail and provide a really great "package" of well planned scenic and interesting bike touring, good maps, info about the towns and interesting sites along the way, and of course...great food! It is a perfect vacation on a bike! I have traveled with MANY different tour companies and in many different ways, from fully self contained to fully supported, price ranges from bare bones to yikes high. I feel that the GABT pricing is very reasonable and the service, attention to detail and choice of accommodations rank high up there with the pricy tours. I will travel with GABT yet again for more fun and adventures!

Fantastic experience: Booking the Erie Canal trail trip with the Great American Bike Tours made our experience of this trail so much better. We were a group of 16 riders, having this company provide the support/ logistics needed for this 12 day trip allowed us to enjoy every day of our cycling vacation and make new friends at the same time. The team members are very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful as they were always there to help everyone resolve any issues that they may have encountered during their trip. In our case, it was a mechanical issue with one of our new bicycles and they made arrangements in the morning to bring us to the closest bike shop. Everything was resolved in a timely manner and we were to rejoin the group latter on that afternoon.

Fantastic experience: I have participated in dozens of bike tours in the US, Canada and Europe over the past few decades. I’ve done five bike tours with Diane and Ron of Great American Bike Tours. They are a small, family-owned company that provides highly personalized and affordable services on some wonderful bike tours. The tours I’ve done with GABT include the Erie Canal Trail, the Great Allegheny Passage, Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard, and Le Petit Train du Nord. These tours have all been incredibly enjoyable. I can highly recommend their bike tours.

Fantastic experience: If you are a busy person and the only planning you care to do is train for a riding adventure, sign up for a Great American Bike Tour! All of the details are covered- transportation, lodging, sag, snacks with many added bonuses at the overnight stops. For example, on the Erie Canal Tour we went on a boat trip and experienced riding the canal and going through a lock. Support staff is tops! My hopes are to do ALL of the rides over the next few years and perhaps repeat the Erie Canal ride. You won't regret signing up for a tour with this touring group.

Fantastic experience: As a follow up to my earlier post of March 7, I recently completed the Great American Bike Tour’s inaugural ride of the Ohio to Erie Trail. With Diane as lead we explored one of cycling’s best kept secrets east of the Mississippi. As a result of an earlier visit Diane was able to introduce us to several of Ohio’s noteworthy and eclectic treasures, some of which were off the beaten path. Each night brought us to either comfortable historically rich inns or to more common accommodations. There were several evenings where the bike trail led us directly to our rooms. While there were a few minor glitches –after all this is to be an adventure – Diane delivered yet another great ride. One highlight, and one of the best rides of my cycling life, was an 18.5-mile jaunt through the farms of the Mennonite community located outside of Millersburg on the ride to Franklin. The tour then rolled through a residential section of Cleveland overlooking the industrial area of the Cuyahoga River for the front wheel dip into Lake Erie. During the ride I reinforced relationships I had formed with cyclists from prior rides. I ‘m sure to include these friends in planning for my next ride with Diane and Ron – the Great Lakes Waterfront from Toronto to Montreal. Denis Sullivan Westfield NJ Posted March 7, 2023 I so thoroughly enjoyed my first Great American Bike Tour with Diane (and her hubby Ron) that i have joined them thus far on 3 other tours and I am currently scheduled to join them on a fifth. It all started with the Erie Canal West tour (Buffalo to Syracuse). They were extremely knowledgeable of the areas we rode --from urban centers to rural farmland --that I knew I had to do the Eastern end of the Canal-- which I did the following year. I again was not disappointed. Consistent, well thought out routes on either bike trails or low traffic roads. A very comfortable scenic tour of the best that Cape Cod has to offer followed. Again, consistent routing, accommodations and 'guest' focused friendly attention to detail by Diane and her handpicked staff led to yet another tour.... Le Petit Train Du Nord --by far one of the best tours of my cycling experience. From quaint friendly guesthouses to a private dining experience at a Lake Champlain resort Diane and Ron continued to provide memorable experiences. On each of these tours, there were always a number of returning riders from previous tours. Fantastic experience: Fantastic trip across upper NY state (Erie Canal). Signed up for trip in Canada this summer (July) recommended by some friends of ours that we meet on previous trip. Great support and well organized by Great American Bike Tours. Run by husband and wife (Ron & Diane) -great hotels or B&B's, breakfast and some dinners provided.

Fantastic experience: Great trip, great tour leaders! Love this husband and wife team. They are fun, friendly, responsive, and passionate about biking and guest service. We had a great time on the Cape, with beautiful accommodations, and fabulous scenery.

Fantastic experience: My friends and I just completed a terrific bicycle trip along the Erie Canal, organized by Great American Bike Tours. There were 24 of us on the trip and we biked between 35-50 miles a day, mostly on packed gravel along the Canal. Beautiful scenery, quaint towns, great logistics. We like to ramble so we appreciated having a sweep with us so we didn't get lost. Ride with GPS routes were provided for every trip. Hotels were clean and safe, our pizza and movie night was fun and we all loved the dinner cruise. We plan to go on another Great American Bike Tour next summer! Great value!

Fantastic experience: Diane and her team did a fabulous time herding cats and other duties to make our ride along the Erie Canal a wonderful experience. We made new friends, enjoyed excellent cuisine and look forward to our next adventure with Great American Bike Tours.

Positive experience: This bike tour on the Erie Canal was grand. The accommodations were fine, the sites amazing, and the staff did a good job helping all the riders when needed. My only suggestion is to provide more details each day on some of the path's turns where signage was meager. I hope to join the Great American Bike tour on another trip.

Fantastic experience: We took the Erie Canal bike trip and it was terrific! Diane and her staff were friendly, thoughtful, well organized and knowledgeable. Details were attended to and each night's stay was clean, near restaurants and some were amazingly charming. My husband and I would highly recommend Diane and the tours she organizes.

Fantastic experience: Have cycled with this company twice. Did the Erie Rambler and the Eastern Shore. Both trips were a blast. The trips were well organized with a van meeting everyone along the way to provide water, snacks and the offer of a ride to the hotel or inn if needed. The owners are fun loving and very accommodating. With Covid going on, our Eastern Shore trip was with fewer participants. We masked up, sanitized and our venues were vetted for Covid compliance. Can’t wait to cycle with this company again.

Fantastic experience: I have done self - supported, semi- supported, and fully supported bike tours for several years. Diane & Ron's tour of the Erie Canal from Buffalo to Albany rates near the top. My friends and I were on the ten day Erie Rambler this past July. Nothing was left to chance. The accommodations were fine. The food was great. The entire group of seventeen really enjoyed each other's company. I look forward to doing another tour with this company.

Fantastic experience: I had never done a bike tour before, but had biking the Erie Canal on my bucket list. So when my sister and I rode with Diane and her Erie Canal bike tour I was very happy and impressed with the detail, support and organization that we got. I had my bike tire flats fixed, very nice lodgings and our questions and concerns quickly addressed, not just ignored. We would highly recommend this bike tour for anyone of any age and in any physical shape for a historical adventure.

Fantastic experience: We thoroughly enjoyed our time cycling on the Erie Canal Towpath. Diane and her crew took care of our every need! They even went so far as to drive us around one very rainy day. The scenery is very pretty along the canal in upstate NY. There were several sites of historical interest as well. The cycling is the same as a rail-trail basically so not many strenuous hills! The food was delicious and the accommodations were comfortable. The night at The Castle of Amsterdam was a special treat!

Fantastic experience: We (i.e. my sister and me) did a semi supported end-to-end tour starting in Buffalo. Support during booking process as well as on the tour and afterwards was really excellent. We also rented bikes from ECBT and took them over in Buffalo, where Diane gave us a lot of valuable hints, so we didn´t miss any sights. When I had a smaller issue with my bike and reported it to Diane, they met us next day morning and replaced the bike by an almost new one ! In Seneca Falls our hotel reservation was lost and after contacting Diane, she immediately solved the issue and we even got two separate rooms that night (btw the best on the trip). So we are very satisfied and can recommend ECBT.

Fantastic experience: We used the shuttle these folks provided to get us and our bikes from Albany to Buffalo. First of all, we were happy to see this service provided. We had been planning to do the whole Erie Canal Trail for a number of years, and the availability of a shuttle service allowed us to finally do it. The pick-up was right on schedule and, during the ride, Ron (co-owner and driver) answered our endless questions and gave us loads of useful information for our trip. The Erie Canal Trail has many poorly marked off road sections and is not easy to follow, and some of the tips Ron gave us helped to keep us from getting lost. He also noted some nice attractions that were slightly off the trail that we would have missed otherwise. This shuttle provided us with great service.

Fantastic experience: Our group of nine made great use of the Eric Canal Bike Tours Services for support and suggestions of where to eat and etc. Our group had a wide range of ages from 35 to 80 years old. Some of us did not ride as far as others and were glad to have Diane and/or her husband pick us up when we thought we had done enough riding for the day. The little towns were unique along the Erie Canal with the special lift bridges and parks. We enjoyed the scenery especially as we neared the American and Canadian falls. We would highly recommend this company to provide the services you may need on your next biking adventure.

Fantastic experience: We had an amazing experience biking the Erie Canal Trail End To End in September 2018. Erie Canal Bike Tours- Diane and Ron helped to make it all possible. First, being able to be shuttled from Albany to Buffalo (through Syracuse) got us off on the right foot. Before Diane and Ron started their business-there was no such option available. Ron was very punctual, pleasant, flexible and helpful. Ron provided lots of helpful information about the trail and sites to see during our time in the vans. The web site was very informative-and I used much of the information there to help plan our trip, where to stay, eat, and what to see. Our trip turned out to be very successful on all fronts-and I wholeheartedly recommend the trail and Erie Canal Bike Tours!.

Fantastic experience: At the Half way marker, but close to the end of our Buffalo to Syracuse adventure. Maybe next year we will do the second half (Syracuse to Albany)

Fantastic experience: We had a fantastic time on the Waterfalls and wine country bike tour. The folks from Erie Canal bike tours made our trip super easy and tons of fun. They even offered an alternative day of golf for folks who didn't want to visit the vineyards. My husband left his phone in on a bench outside a coffee shop. Diane contacted the coffee shop had them find the phone and made a special trip back to the cafe to retrieve it. All of this way beyond the call of duty.

Fantastic experience: We've used ECBT twice to shuttle us between points. They were excellent both times. The last time there was an issue on the pickup time with their driver, but Diane quickly sent another driver and more than made up for it. I was very impressed with how it was handled. As far as the trail, we did Buffalo to Syracuse last year and Albany to Syracuse this year. If you are planning to do just part, I'd highly recommend the Western half. We thought it was great! The trail, scenery, and towns were much nicer. Just eliminate the city portion in Buffalo. It's very difficult to follow, much of it on streets and areas with nothing to see. The Eastern part is much more difficult to follow through some of the towns, even with GPS. Markings are poor.

Positive experience: Very good tour but needs a little more experience in operation and that will come. Great people to work with. Well worth the cost.

Positive experience: Mostly positives from this veteran of numerous bike tours. Great responsiveness from the earliest planning to the final steps of sending us home at the end of the trip. Accommodations were fine, and the daily legs were just about perfect in terms of intensity. The only recommendation I would make to any future traveler is to equip yourself with a GPS capability, either bicycle-mounted or through your smart phone. The actual Erie Canal Bike route is simply not a point-to-point single path. Missing road signs and misleading road marks continually provided navigational challenges. But the bottom line was that the trip was everything I had wanted, and more. Highly recommend.
