Positive experience: The rooms were out-dated and worn-out. Pool was gross. Kind of a dumpy motel with amazing beach access and view.

Negative experience: So Google maps had it listed at $79 a night. Lol. Yeah right. I called and the cheapest unit is in Fort Walton and it's $550 a night with "cleaning fees" etc. Destin thinks they are in Hawaii now.

Fantastic experience: First time renting in Destin and the experience was fantastic. No hassle checkin. The rental was as advertised and welcoming. 5 min walk from the most beautifully sanded beach. I will definitely use this company again.

Negative experience: ROACHES & BED BUGS - 307B -OWNED BY OCEAN REEF We stayed in a unit in Building A last year and had a great time(left a 5 star review). Unfortunately, it was booked this year. We stayed in Building B this year and immediately smelled a strong musty odor. We submitted a maintenance request and they came the next day to clean mold from vents. During our second day we began to find roaches in the restroom and bedroom. Prior to bedtime we found a roach in our bed. I immediately left at message for the owner. During the night I felt a bug crawling on my back and swatted it off. I called the owner the next day and requested a new unit and said we would be leaving if they did not make this right. She assured me that if we left we would not get a refund, but she would try and locate another unit. She also said that Ocean Reef is a huge company and will make this right at the conclusion of the stay. They never called back about an alternative, and had the room sprayed the next day(while we were in it). We continued to find roaches and I developed bite marks on my hand and arms. We would and should have left but we drove 18 hours to get to the rental and had several prepaid events. We ended up leaving a day early, being absolutely disgusted. By this time I developed bites on my face, neck and limbs. I sought medical attention and was diagnosed with bed bug bites...which we were not even considering! I summarized this via email and shared pictures with the owner, also requesting a refund. I followed up with a phone call, and awaited a response for three days. When I finally got a response they offered $400 (15% of our stay). I shared that was not acceptable and that I would be filing a complaint with the health department, which I have. The rep stated "if it was that bad you would have left". Please be careful when renting in building B. This was and has been a horrible experience. We have sought legal counsel and hope that this review helps expose a terrible customer service experience. We have never had a negative hotel or rental experience in all of our travels.

Fantastic experience: Best place that I went since 2012

Positive experience: DOWNSIDE- Condo Unit 206B- needs a bit of maintenance, but the staff were immediately responsive. Wobbling toilet, side of bathroom sink (paneling) starting to degrade from water and salt (just needs to be replaced as it degrades the overall look and feel)Couch needs to be replaced as it has broken down and pull out was not comfortable to sleep on (mattress pull out needed to be replaced as well). UPSIDE - Condo was clean with nice decor, appliances were new, king size bed was very comfortable. Location right on the beach was excellent and again the staff were very receptive to our needs/ requests. We would stay with Crystal Sands again!

Fantastic experience: We were in Suite 305B... which has been recently upgraded. No complaints about the room, the beach or other amenities. I do think that the $60/day they charge for an extra umbrella and chairs is totally outrageous...

Negative experience: The room was nice looking at it until started to use things. The hair dryer was filled with dust n fuzz balls, the electrical sockets were loose n half didnt work, throat hanger on wall was just hanging there, the pull out bed was be t n broke, the refrigerator took 2 days to get cold. You only get 1 umbrella n 2 chairs for beach if you want extra have to pay $50 for a day however they put them up at 330. Then the chairs they give u in condo for beach those were also broken so couldnt use them either. You are to supply your own garbage bags too. Lol the best part was the ocean and the beach. Definitely was not happy with how much we paid and everything was broken.

Negative experience: Checked out the room and the air smelled strange and mold was on the vents. Me and my family left after that and didn't even stay a single night let alone a hour. We asked for a refund and were pretty much told to deal with it after we had spent over eight thousand dollars.

Negative experience: We rented a one bedroom room because it said it had a Sofa bed for two other people. This sofa bed was literally falling apart the springs were missing and you could feel bars stabbing you in the back. So we had to literally take the mattress off of the sofa bed and lay it on the floor! ‍♂️‍♂️‍♂️‍♂️

Fantastic experience: We have rented various condos before. We like this location because it is close to a lot of things to do. The buildings are right on the beach. Some of the condos are missing one or two things, but nothing we couldn't work around.

Positive experience: Great location away from all the car traffic but still very close to everything. The water is amazing in this area! I would suggest renting the cono's owned by individuals. They are more updated. 314B is very nice. The only down side is the public beach access in between the two Crystal Sands buildings! It makes for a VERY crowded beach right in from of the complex. There are a hand full of restaurants in walking distance and about a half mile walk down the beach to the Crab Trap beach bar! Enjoyed a nice drink and stroll back to the condo. I would not stay here again during peak season due to the public access so close.

Positive experience: Nice view, clean rooms, only downfall is management was kinda rude and not very helpful.

Fantastic experience: This place is very nice! Directly on the beach with a beautiful beach view. The room is very spacious and well laid out. The decor is tasteful and clean. The rooms are very very clean and well maintained. There is plenty of parking. Very comfortable place to stay. So nice I could live here. Well done!

Fantastic experience: The condo was very clean and well furnished for our needs. It has a great location and the owner was very congenial and easy to work with. I highly recommend this location and Tami, the owner. We will be back!

Fantastic experience: As perfect as alway, we have stayed here 3 years and have loved it everytime, Tami is a great person to deal with and is half the reason we make it back every year. Hopefully it works out to where we can make it again soon for another relaxing week.
