Fantastic experience: I don’t have to stay in any other location on the island to figure out how it may compare to Hamilton Cove. Hamilton Cove is simply the best, with the most beautiful views……..

Positive experience: Great vacation spot, but common area amenities need improvement. Gym is really bad.

Positive experience: We ended up renting a great unit for a fair price. We did call about 5 times and nobody ever called us back, but one time someone answered the phone and she helped us. (Forgot her name) The owners v renters squabble is in full fight as the renters are not to use any amenities, make any noises, etc. Quick Note to all the Owners. The reason your properties are now worth so much is because of the income that can be produced from it. So, you might want to think twice about your dislike of renters. See ya soon.

Negative experience: Customer service is outrageously rude, and inconsiderate. They would not credit our stay with a Hurricane/tropical storm on its way the days we would be there. Bart is one of the rudest people I have ever spoken to. He should be fired! I will NEVER book here again. Hotel Atwater is the place to go! Zero stars from me.

Positive experience: It was a really nice place to stay it just would have been nice if there had been a restaurant or maybe a convenience store on the property itself it was super convenient having the golf cart come with the Villa but still had to drive into town for any incidentals that you might need it was a beautiful dual Suite very spacious and well appointed I do recommend this place to stay it is away from all the hubbub of the city proper so you do get that kind of relaxation and quietness that you might be looking for

Negative experience: Poor villa, dirty, bad condition of the condos, the golf cart was dirty. Rusted furniture, unclean bathroom. We stayed at 1-80 and that property needs a lot of work. The kitchen had plastic dishes and missing major stuff. Plates were not enough. Dirty dishes and pans. Couch smelled of urine. Bathroom was slippery and dirty. Heat was not working. The owner needs major changes and needs to update the golf cart.

Positive experience: I rented a weekend on unit 1-81, the place itself was nice, my complaint to the office would be that is hard to get a hold of them, and also that they didn’t informed me that the jacuzzi wasn’t working. Other than that they have better prices than airb&b for sure.

Negative experience: DO NOT STAY HERE, first you can either book thru VRBO or their vacation outfit. EITHER WAY READ BEFORE YOU SIGN~ red flag if the rental contract states you must be nice and not rude to the gate guard, I mean really! You know what that means- there’s probably a problem with the gate guard~ who YES had authority issues. Secondly beware where your unit is- SOME DO NOT HAVE INTERNET & those also have LOTS of stairs with no elevator. The views are really good but it’s somewhat secluded. There is not a restaurant on property or grocery store. I promise you there are so many other places to rent closer to shops and restaurants w/o all the unnecessary micro management. (Ps. little privacy on tiny balconies- I could hear the guy coughing from inside his rental)

Fantastic experience: Stayed here this past weekend for a bachelorette party, this place was great. Amazing views! They do have a pretty bad ant problem though. But if you don't leave your things laying around they shouldn't come out as bad.

Fantastic experience: I have used Hamilton Cove RE for my Catalina Island stays for the past 2 decades.  The rental properties they provide are fantastic and I have never have had any problems with their units.  The entire community is gated and very safe. All of their beachfront properties have amazing views! It's great to fall asleep and to wake up to the sounds of waves and rocks rolling back and forth outside your balcony.  Please be aware that only building 10 has an elevator; you will have to use the stairs for the other buildings.  All the villas are just a short golf cart ride to the Avalon town center. If you don't want to go through the trouble of filling up gas for the golf cart and trying finding parking space for the cart, you can just use the Avalon Taxi Service--currently it's about $17 (tips not included) for 3 people from town center to the villas.  You can buy food from Vons and cook in the villas or have BBQs on the private beach. The kitchens of all the units I have stayed are pretty well-stocked.

Fantastic experience: A great place to stay Enjoy!

Fantastic experience: Hamilton Cove is the perfect getaway; away from town, but since there is a golf cart available with each unit you can get to town in 2 minutes. Quiet, away from the hustle and bustle but you can get there in a snap when you want. We stayed in 8-81, 39 steps total from ground level (cart) to main floor. Be warned but not horrible- if you may have a hard time with stairs ask for a count. Get checked in and got to Vons to save money eating out and on alcohol. A great day can be enjoyed just hanging out in your condo. Only down side is WiFi and cell service is shorty; may not be a concern while on vacation but if part of the party takes the golf course there may be a bit of a challenge reconnecting=have a plan just incase. It’s nice because it is quite but great amenities for families; playground in the sand, volleyball, croquet, tennis, pool and spa. Maybe more I haven’t seen. Staff are friendly and accommodating. I’m sure we will be back next year- 3 years in a row. Worth the little extra to have a golf cart and ability to get away.

Negative experience: Tried to book with them but they were very rude on the phone and via email. Didn't end up booking with them. Very disappointed in their service.

Fantastic experience: This place was absolutely amazing. I stayed in a one bedroom unit in one of the condo complexes with my friend and we had the absolute best time. The owners were incredibly helpful and they were very flexible with our scheduling between getting to California and getting to the island on the boat. I have never felt so welcomed and invited at a rental until I stayed with Hamilton Cove Real Estate. The island in general is gorgeous; there are multitudes of Buffalo, eagles, and all kinds of sea life that filled the water. My stay was everything I could’ve dreamed of and I am definitely looking forward to try to revisit.

Positive experience: The villa #2-48 we rented was very nice. It was clean and pretty much as pictured. The staff at the property were extremely helpful. We had issues with our golf cart being taken on 2 different occasions and the staff there was right on it both times. Can NOT SAY that for Catalina Island Vacation Rentals as that's who we went through. Definitely not as pleased with them. I wish knew the name of the housekeeper because she went above and beyond to help us with any issues. I can say the dish washer didn't work and the outside patio seating was very uncomfortable. They could definitely update that. The beds were amazing and plenty of other amenities. Tiny round bars of soap, so I would suggest bringing some or buying at Von's grocery as we did. The complex is a short distance from town but a fun cart ride for sure. It shows in the pictures that you are getting an enclosed golf cart but that is not the case. The cart also back fired horribly!!!! People would literally stare at us as if we'd done something. I suggest maintenance replacement! IT WAS BAD. We asked for a different one from Catalina rentals but they were no help. Overall a great time though.

Negative experience: Took them a week to answer my calls! Not even my emails. Been trying to book H1778 however I was not sure about their pet policy. On their web they mentioned its pet friendly for extra charge but this unit did not state their pet policy specifically so I didn't want to risk thousands of dollars before making sure. Finally today, Wednesday they answered the phone and said they are not pet friendly. I have seen people posting picture of their pets on Social media at Hamilton Cove so I'm not whats going on.

Fantastic experience: This place is first class all the way, beautiful clean property and pools and the condos are gorgeous...will definitely be back!

Negative experience: So my family and I booked a 6 person villa back in October, we all got our time off way in advance for this vacation and drove down a 5 hour trip down to Long Beach to sail over and we received confirmation of our room 24 hours prior to departing for the island. We arrived in the morning and our check in wasn't until 4pm so we enjoyed our day in Catalina. Once we get to the gate the man monitoring it wouldn't let us pass because someone had already checked in to our villa. We got in touch with Veronica who manages the specific room and it turns out she double booked our room but she said they weren't in the wrong and they couldn't do anything about it, she told us they didn't have any other rooms for us and that we should've gotten a cancellation notification. We got in touch with another "specialist" named amber who said she could get us a much smaller place for the same price but offered no discounts..... for a smaller room that didn't come with any of the same amenities. At the time of me writing this review we still have no place to stay and our ferry tickets aren't valid for today so we will have to buy new tickets. Still waiting for any assistance in our predicament but no news yet from either of these employees.

Negative experience: The most unprofessional experience of my life. After planning our March 2021 Vacation in October of 2020, traveling 5 hours to Long Beach, and waiting all day to check in at 4pm just to find out our room was double booked. After not being allowed to literally evening pass through the gates of the condominiums they told us someone should have contacted us to cancel our reservation. However no one did- we were turned away at the gate and told us they had nothing us for us and that they could not provide other lodging for what was supposed to be our 5 day vacation. We continued to attempt to call the hosts, Veronica and Amber, they both denied any responsibility. They both denied us other lodging. So, we had to get the last ferry of the day, and go home. After traveling all the way here, getting time off in advance, with redeeming our only available vacation time for the year, our 5 day island vacation, turned into a 12 hour driving, and ferry trip.

Fantastic experience: Loved our mini honeymoon in Catalina at Hamilton Cove, I really enjoyed the view from our condo and that we had our own golf cart to come and go from the the property whenever we wanted.definitely worth the extra money to stay in your own private condo. Costumer service was great as well, when i called to make the reservation the lady help me find the best deal for my husband and I. Would definitely recommend this hidden gem!

Fantastic experience: Had a great time here, I think it's probably the best location to rent on the island

Negative experience: Horrible Customer Service. We recently booked with this company for the 2nd year in a row in January 2020. Then in March 2020 the Covid 19 Pandemic hit. In May, I contacted the company to see what their cancellation policy would be due to the pandemic. They offered to reschedule the trip if necessary. I have a one year old son with a heart defect and was advised not to go on the trip. I attempted to get a hold of the company again to change my trip and did not receive a response for several weeks. I emailed several times and then had to call them numerous times to get ahold of someone to speak to. The employee who answered was EXTREMELY rude and unwillingly to let me change my trip dates or offer any sort of solution. Then without my authorization I received an email that they canceled my trip and kept my deposit. I am still quite shocked that this is one of the very few rentals companies unwilling to offer any sort of credit or postponement since we are living in the middle of a PANDEMIC. I will never book with them again and I would not recommend using them EVER.

Fantastic experience: Just stayed there. Girl Natalie lead me in right direction with choice of location and condo. Very happy with unit. Are very serious about buying a 2 bed two bath condo there. Unfortunately for us Bart was on vk and have to wait to make arrangements to see units for sale in complex. Since we now will have a property manager in Bart and his crew will make buying using and renting unit very easy and comforting. Have owned a few four plexs in our past I must say it’s a thankless job. Need to give rental staff a break a very stressful job. Will be in contact as we r selling a vk property home in lake George New York and cashing out a condo at Hampton cove. Much easier vk home to travel to from Huntington Beach. My grandchild love Catalina so will be a great vk for family and great rental investment with the help of Hampton bay real estate. Thank you for your help finding us a great unit. The Staley’s

Fantastic experience: My family just had the most FABULOUS vacation to Catalina/Hamilton Cove. The photos on the web site do not do these properties justice. Exquisite views, phenomenal amenities, so much to do & so little time! Bart & Julie and the team at Hamilton Cove properties were amazing to us! The only negative? Need to book a longer stay!

Negative experience: Incredibly rude customer service, just like all others have said. Never a return phone call or email. Finally got Richard on the phone today and was impossible to get the accurate total amount from him so I could overnight a check (they don't take credit cards). His math wasn't adding up and I was simply trying to get the correct amount so there wasn't any problems when we showed up - in other words, I was trying to send them more money as he wasn't including the security fee in "total" amount. He was so rude, told me it wasn't going to work out with us staying there since he was "already having problems" with me. I've stayed in this location before and it is beautiful, but unreal how lousy this place is run and the way they treat people. Spending our money elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: When my parents came to Catalina I put got them a place to stay out at Hamilton. Bart was super friendly and the units out there are gorgeous. The property features a nice pool with a jacuzzi below. The units are awesome with breaktaking views overlooking the Pacific ocean. My dad's friend said he lived in California for over 50 years and didn't realize such a beautiful place existed in southern California. Pretty awesome.

Negative experience: Terrible staff! Catalina is wonderful, but don't go through Hamilton Cove Real Estate. Use one of the other agencies. They truly made it an awful experience.

Negative experience: Terrible customer service experience, cashed security deposit without any warning or explanation and the security guard is an extremely rude and bitter man.

Negative experience: Sharon, a women that handles the phones for Hamilton Cove Real Estate, was the rudest person I have ever dealt with. So much so that we suspended our booking through them. I suggest using one of the other real estate offices on the island.

Negative experience: BEWARE – Hamilton Cove Real Estate, the agency rents out and manages the properties in Hamilton Cove is without a doubt the rudest, most unhelpful rental agency I’ve ever dealt with. My parents rented a 4-bedroom home in Hamilton Cove for their 50th Anniversary celebration, an event family members flew in for from around the country. The most expensive rental property in the Cove, it was nonetheless run-down with outdated fixtures and appliances that barely worked. Our calls for assistance were largely ignored. But this was all tolerable until the day we checked out. We sailed over to Hamilton Cove in my parent’s sailboat and left our dingy at the Hamilton Cove dingy dock. When we tried to leave, however, we discovered that the gangway to the dingy dock had been pulled up – without warning or any notice this could occur – stranding our dingy. [The official reason turned out to be “rough water,” by which they appeared to mean 1 ft swells] We returned to our rental and called Hamilton Cove Real Estate to inquire about this and ask for assistance. But instead of help, “Natalie,” the woman who answered the phone just yelled at us that we would not be given a late check-out. When we asked to speak to whoever had made the decision to raise the gangway, she accused us of refusing to leave the rental, told us to get out and hung up on us. I have never experienced this type of exceptional rudeness from a rental agency – particularly not after spending $1000 per night on a rental. No one in my family will ever again rent in Hamilton Cove. There are there are plenty of other rentals in Avalon handled by rental agents who are not abusive.

Positive experience: I loved out stay - we had fun...but the customer service was terrible, they lost our keys and accused of us of not leaving them. I left a sun dress, that was left in the master bath, that was lost. I let them know and it just seemed that i hassled them by asking them to look for it. When I called a few days later to assure that they found the keys as i was concerned, I got the worst phone call - she was mean and rude.... the girl noted that she didn't want any drama- and my phone call was an inconvenience and she was trying to check people out and hung up on me. Wow oh wow. I have never had that bad of customer service ever at any hotel or resort... they were nice on the front end but really bad on the tale end. I don't think they care at all about customer service.

Fantastic experience: Amazing view, very comfortable suits, friendly staff, very clean, and close to Avalon attractions and services. On the down side, the gas grills were messed up/probably never cleaned. Overall, a super nice stay!

Fantastic experience: Hamilton Cove is within a mile of the main city on Catalina - Avalon - but once you make your way around the peninsula that separates the two areas you will feel like you are thousands of miles away in paradise. Relax, enjoy the extensive amount of amenities and bask in the sun for rates that are ridiculously cheap for what you get in return. As a Orange County native I never perceived Catalina as a special place to vacation. After staying at the resort in Hamilton Cove, I have a completely different view. Side note: There are wild deer in this area that are super friendly and adorable. I never knew Catalina had deer until I stayed here.

Negative experience: My family and I have rented from this company for 4 years in a row. Every year has been a terrible customer service experience. You can review my stories on trip adviser. This year I called to make our yearly reservation for 5 of us and when I asked about an add I read on line, the lady was very rude to me and hung up on me. I wasn't even sure she booked our room or not so I called back an hour later to find out she didn't. Now we are using Catalina Vacations. Customer service is a direct reflection on the business and the last thing I want to deal with on a vacation is problems. We loved the room we always rented but I just can't support this company anymore. I met the owner once and he was very nice, my suggestion is to retrain and refocus on your customers. The villa's themselves are very nice but it's just not worth the aggravation.
