Fantastic experience: John is great at what he does. Last year he helped me get mine and my husbands passports before our wedding in Hawaii. (right when real id’s came out) I knew this year he was the person I needed to reach out to when my kids needed their first passports and my dad needed to renew his. Fantastic experience: I have used CIBT and Swift for clients in the past as a travel agent. John at Bucktown Passports is better because he has patience with the travelers. It's easy to fill out the forms when you aren't going anywhere and you are just getting a passport just to have it. But when there is stress involved- you lost your passport and leave in a week to go overseas, you have to travel for a family emergency and it is expired - that's when you fill out the form wrong. John is your eyes and proofreader during stress and he's good at it. So many of the others will get the job done, but they lack customer service and just being supportive of the travelers. These documents are easy to fill out using the online government page, but it's the little details that mess people up- EXAMPLE: not using color print on your document copies - black and white only. He's good at dotting the i's and crossing the t's. Take it from a travel agent of almost 20 Years- he's the real deal!

I tried to book an appointment at the passport agency to which they had zero available. Fantastic experience: I had a very urgent situation arise where I needed to take a work trip overseas in 7 days (5 working days) and didn’t realize that my passport had expired. I tried the local US Passport Agency and several other independent companies that offer “urgent” passport renewals and none of them could get it done. I emailed John and he responded almost immediately. He walked me through everything I needed to get him and he went to work. Got him all the proper documentation on Tuesday afternoon and he was able to get the renewed passport in my hands by Friday! Not only was the service unbelievable, but he was highly communicative the entire time, sending me updates when the passport agency started processing the paperwork, when they completed it, when they shipped it, and he sent me a picture once he received it. When I realized my daughter's passport was expired, I called the Chicago Passport Agency downtown, 14 days before my trip, which is what they told me to do and they had no appointments available. Why I recommend John: I had just two weeks to renew my expired passport and he came through big time! I did my due diligence and researched about half a dozen passport services. Most seemed to charge excessive fees north of thousands $$$$ for expedited services or they were too busy to accept any new clients. He is Legit, trustworthy and very customer centric, so your needs are his first priority. He sets the right expectations and walks you through the process, so expect him to deliver on time. I found him to be very courteous and professional. He keeps all information personal and confidential. His rates are very fare compared to other services that tend to overcharge customers. His communication via email, phone text is very clear and concise, his website is clear on what's needed to process.

Fantastic experience: Amazing service! I dropped off the passport renewal materials on a Saturday, and John had passports for my wife and me by Wednesday (2-3 business days turnaround! We did a lot of research, and saw many other expediter services and saw got terrible reviews, and weren't able to deliver passports in a timely fashion, were scams etc. So, I was super-skeptical, but John is 100% trustworthy and delivered for us at a much lower price than we were quoted by other expediters. John responded to all queries within 24 hours, and gave clear, detailed explanations of the process and updated us on progress. (He also advice on using the Urgent Travel Agency passport renewal process, which we opted not to do, even though we were able to book an appointment in Chicago for the day before our trip— but at that point, John seemed to offer more peace of mind). I don't write a lot of reviews, but I thought were going to miss out on a once-in-a-lifetime trip because we were planning at the last minute, and John made it happen.

Fantastic experience: I am an airline pilot and I need my passport for work all the time in case I end up getting an international flight assigned. So I needed to do my passport renewal as quick as I could. After a quick Google search I found John on the Bucktown area, away from all the downtown traffic, and all the music festivals crowds. I have never used this kind of services so I didn't know what to expect. But he ended up being very flexible to my personal needs, and right away I was able to feel how he would accommodate his services to anybody else needs. He was very fair on his fees, even a lot lower than other bigger offices in Chicago. I gave him all the required documents on a Thursday evening, and I couldn't believe when he called me at noon on Friday to tell me that he had my Passport ready. So I went to pick it up around 3pm. That was UNDER 24 hrs!. He actually did't processed my stuff until that same Friday so, I believe him when he told me that he could actually do a passport renewal on just 6 HOURS!. Anyway, I just had a great experience and had to right a review about John. I live on the Bucktown area as well and for me it was nice to count on him and get to know a new neighbor.
