Fantastic experience: Planning trips, especially international trips can be a challenging and stressful ordeal for just about anyone. My wife and I had always wanted to visit Iceland, but found it challenging in going about planning everything and maximizing our time while we would be there. This task becomes increasingly more difficult if you have limited days and have a big list of places/activities you wish to do. We did do some research and found a plethora of options with a pre-set itinerary. These seem great, but noticed with these pre-set options that you would essentially be on the move everyday and have, at best, an hour or less in any given spot. Furthermore, your lodging would change everyday, which means constant packing/unpacking most of the trip. Though my wife and I love traveling, the thought of changing lodging everyday and packing/unpacking seemed exhausting to us. These pre-set options you find online are somewhat inflexible and do not allow for much, if any, free time. I researched and went down the Reddit rabbit hole and came across a thread of people recommending for a more personal experience, many opted to hiring a private travel agent. After some discussion with my wife, we both decided to try and hire a travel agent for a more personal itinerary. I read many stories of people's personal experiences, both pleasant and unpleasant of using travel agents, but I did read one review that really resonated with me. The review mentioned a travel agent named Mordy, who basically helped another couple plan their schedule, make reservations, plan activities, and lastly, gave great tips and recommendations. This sounded like a perfect option for my wife and I, so the next step was to reach out to a few agents and go from there. Iceland is a beautiful country but there are a lot of places you can't travel to in the winter because there are lots of road closures. We would not have been able to plan a trip as good as ours was. Our guide wrote out stop by stop for us with information about each spot and when to go. He also helped us with packing and any information we would need to have the best trip. He kept us updated throughout the trip about road closures and weather updates as well as checked in to see if we needed to change anything because of the weather conditions. He was super nice and friendly, I would use this company again in the future.

Fantastic experience: My wife and 2 kids, 14 and 11, had an amazing trip to Iceland in June thanks to Mordy at Crescor. I actually found Mordy on a whim looking through the Chabad of Iceland site.:) We scheduled an introductory call with him to go over what we wanted to see, how active of a trip we wanted and whether we wanted to be part of a group. We decided on a week-long trip and rented a car to drive ourselves instead of taking a group bus. From there, Mordy handled everything, coming up with an itinerary, sightseeing, meals and hotels. He travels to Iceland frequently and told us he fell in love with the country and his passion for it really shows. Our trip followed the Golden circle which is the southwest part of the country and contains the most things first-time tourists would want to see. We jam-packed alot of sightseeing, including going down into an inactive volcano, two trips to the glacier (snowmobiling was magical), dunebuggying in the highlands, visiting the beautiful waterfalls, etc., Mordy can make the trip as adventurous or sedate as you'd like. For example, the kids enjoyed learning about bread baking in the geothermal hotsprings. He knows what is worth seeing and what you can skip. He knows so many of the restaurants in the area and can work with dietary restrictions. (Icelanders eat _alot_ of lamb, its more common than chicken). Mordy also signed us up for a food tour in Rejkavik which is a must. The only caveat is to make sure you include a visit to the blue lagoon. A lot of people (including Mordy) consider it kind of a tourist trap, but it is the iconic attraction the kids are familiar with from social media and we had a great time there. At the blue lagoon we met a few local young people who were very nice, educated and spoke English perfectly. Not many people know about the Icelandic contributions to world culture and you can read about it before you go (How Iceland Changed the World: The Big History of a Small Island by Egill Bjarnason). In conclusion, Mordy is the main reason we had such an exhilarating time in Iceland and would highly recommend his services. He is very responsive and flexible to give you a great trip.
