Fantastic experience: Helpful friendly staff. No appointment needed for title work. Rates are better than local notaries.

Negative experience: My vehicle broke down on I99 in Pennsylvania so I called AAA for a tow and they would not come get it unless I went back and sat on the side of the interstate waiting for them to pick it up, my safety is worth more to me than sitting on the side of the I-99. What’s the point of having this membership if I can’t use it when I need it? Courtesy Ford in Altoona sent for the vehicle without me having to risk my life sitting on the interstate and it was picked up within 15 minutes. They were way more efficient than AAA and nicer to deal with. The lady I spoke with at AAA was rude.

Negative experience: Response time is unmatched…in the worst way possible. Tow truck drivers are friendly, but whoever sends them out does not do so in a timely manner. If you’re stranded out in the cold and need towed, you’ll have a better chance of walking home and back by the time you are assigned a tow truck driver.

Negative experience: I will be cancelling my AAA membership mainly because of the Altoona office, that and being stranded for over 4 hours on 3 separate occasions(twice of which were in town). I've had AAA since 2010, 13 year member. Every time I try to do anything vehicle registration related, they give me a hard time. I immediately go down the street to their competitor and am helped without issue.

Negative experience: horrible. Daughter stranded with 9 mth old. Locked keys in car at a store. AAA had noone to help and was rude on the phone. No one ever came.

Negative experience: Can anyone tell me how you serve everywhere, ..but you can't help or issue a membership to a person living in centre county at the blair county office? Total waste of space just turn everything online.

Negative experience: My 19 yr old daughter's car shut down on her late Saturday night. She called AAA. The tow truck did show up until 1 1/2 hrs later! Luckily by then some friends stopped and gave her a ride home. When the tow truck finally delivered the vehicle to the designated spot, I asked the driver what took so long and he said they weren't contacted by AAA until over a hour after my daughter had called. He said they have had this problem with AAA before.

Positive experience: Very friendly staff pretty reasonable prices if I had the money I would go through them again for my travel

Fantastic experience: Wow, what a difference in AAA offices. A couple of years ago my wife and I moved back to PA from VA and had to register our existing cars in PA. What a complete nightmare in Johnstown. Finally got it done, but quit AAA due to the negative experience. We were dreading ever doing it again. We had the opportunity to buy a sports car we had in our youth and bought it in VA. Went to AAA in Altoona this time. Heather Mingle helped us and was perfect. So professional. She exemplified customer service. Will only use this office in the future. Thank you Heather!
