Fantastic experience: After paying for and using this AAA Roadside Assistance Membership service for over 37 years, I can only share my recent experiences from 2024/2025. Both times, the weather was a factor, mid-late summer, scorching temps and oppressive humidity, once for battery and once for a flat tire from a rusty nail. The battery call was multi level, called 1-800# and later learned the main computer in TX (where it was hotter than here in PA) was down and could not route the call to a local recovery garage. The man who eventually showed up was a couple of miles getting gas when he intercepted the call. Whew. Really knowledgeable, efficient mechanic who fixed our issue in 10 minutes. Two weeks later, I drove all the way up to the garage to bring a few pizzas from Costco as gratitude! The second call, flat tire, called the 1800#, KEITH showed up, energetic, smart, great communicator through the tire swap and done in minutes. Awesome! The time and recovery are different. The initial call routes to one, maybe three other places, depending who wants to accept or refuse the call. Each experience is different. The membership offers a way to get the driver back on the road or to a garage for further inspection and helps ease the mind in case of a vehicle issue.

Negative experience: Horrible company. Told me 90 mins for a tow took almost 3 hours
Negative experience: AAA customer service is terrible, in the height of frustration they will make it worse and give you different information each time you talk to someone different. The manager Jim or James i know it starts with a J is the worse. When i did get the chance to speak to him he didn’t try and understand my frustration as i was stranded and was told i couldn’t use my AAA that i pay for and then canceled my plan without clarification on if that’s what i really wanted i’ve had so much trouble with them and allowing other on my plan to use my account but i was told that’s not allowed. Usually i receive a email about renewing my services but i didn’t because he canceled my plan and im beyond disappointed because i wanted to love it but they have left a terrible taste in my mouth.
Negative experience: Planning a trip to Italy, was hoping for travel info, tours and bus/train as well as general info as Americans traveling abroad. While pleasant the young woman offered little. She stated wineries and cooking classes are what people go to Italy for. We had to inquire about museums, The Vatican, the colleseum and other trips, she still provided little information. She did talk us both into a AAA credit card. Activated mine this morning, the woman attempted to sell additional insurance on card payments. I politely but firmly declined. She must receive a bonus as she again began reading from the same exact script. My time was limited, I stopped her to which she muttered "OH MY GOD". I questioned this and her attitude was obnoxious, I requested a supervisor and was handed off to James Carpenter. He seemed unconcerned. This was to be my primary card while traveling, due to this call and useless travel information the card will be back up. I remember when AAA was fabulous, had it for 30+ years, as service declined during covid I canceled and only recently started a new membership. Seems to me towing is all they're good for nowadays. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!

Fantastic experience: Not all vehicle registrations are simple. Lori handled our motorhome registration with the utmost of professionalism and courtesy. There are fewer reasons for AAA membership these digital days but the notary service saves us money and time and these folks do a great job!
Negative experience: Triple A is the worst roadside assistance known to man - Got a Flat Tire on a road trip home and all tire places closed by a certain time. They told us we were “priority” and then after waiting 2 hours we called to find out where the tow truck was? Well, they randomly cancelled it and never got back to us. They hung up on us on THREE separate occasions and now all of the tire places managed to close by the time a local tow agency was able to get us. DO NOT GET AAA, Avoid at all costs. There are hundreds of other places to go. This place makes you wait hours, and does not care about people or their safety.
Negative experience: Mary-Jo failed to properly communicate when it comes to AAA dispatching. Not only was she aware my tow wasn't coming the first time and never let me know a second got called and scheduled for tomorrow. Miss mary-jo said the garage was going to call and never did. I called the garage to find out all the information myself. Incompetent as can be. Sat there for 3 hours total because the app was never updated, I was never called. I would have rather spent that 3 hours pushing the car home than deal with Mary-jo.

Negative experience: When you need a tow or just a tire change. The truck either never arrives or comes too late. When will AAA stand up for the client and have Companies that supply emergency road service, provide better service. You would get better ratings. If no one bought AAA you would be out of business. So please clients first, thank you and have a good day.

Negative experience: Slowest service I have ever encountered at a tag transfer place. Do not go there unless you have a LOT of time to waste tunkhannock office.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience today getting a few car issues worked out. The women helping us today was very sweet and made our situation very easy to get corrected. I recommend AAA for any car registration issues you have. It is worth the money to become a member for the great service they provide.
Negative experience: We locked the keys in our truck in Brodheadsville. Called AAA at 4:50 pm. First response they would be there in less than an hour. An hour plus later they had still not arrived. I called back and was told they were running a little behind and would be there soon. Two more hours later I called again and they said they didn’t know what to tell me. Eventually we got a ride home to get some tools to break into the truck on our own. BTW, they never showed up. At 9:50 we got back in the truck on our own. 5 hours we waited and no show!
Fantastic experience: Was thinking nowadays it wasn't really stopping in to get information that we could find online but was pleasantly surprised to find it well worth the trip. Joe helped us and had a ton of information that we didn't know as well as the background and history of other travelers to give us some tips and ideas that we weren't thinking of and didn't find elsewhere. We also got some more information about the insurance which usually we skip but in today's environment it really put our mind at ease (for a very reasonable cost) to know that if anything went wrong whether it be travel or COVID or what that we would be covered and have nothing to worry about. Highly recommend and will definitely be using again.

Negative experience: I dont know if its just me but each person I have interacted with has been rude and lacked phone manners. When I purchased my membership, I dealt with a woman that was short to the point of rudeness. Had I know that other staff members at this office were equally rude on the phone, I would not have become a member.

Negative experience: Not worth buying the RV plus. We had the worst experience driving our boat back from NH. We had a flat tire in Connecticut so called AAA for assistance. The dispatcher was poorly trained and we should have known she would mess it up. We waited 90 minutes on the side on I-84 in Connecticut only to have the tow truck finally call to say he was in Pennsylvania and couldn’t find us! So back on the phone with AAA and after waiting 20 minutes on hold and being bounced around from the CT office to the PA office and then back to CT we were finally told that Connecticut doesn’t honor the RV Plus service! So not only we were stuck on the side of I-84 for 2 hours due to incompetence of AAA staff but then they provided absolutely no help at all. What awful customer service.

Positive experience: I paid for AAA for many years and cancelled it when my new car offered a complimentary plan plus had coverage through car insurance. Today, so much coverage, over lapping coverage because each policy offers different things and gaps as well. I had prior issues with Stroud office but nothing that was adjusted by a phone call. Last year, I stopped in to ask about photos for passports and the gal at the front desk gave me a curt answer with a tad if attitude. It was 445 pm, I'm thinking it was too close to closing and used a tactic to come back. I notice on occasion, some of the staff are slow to help as I stand there. I usually call to get answers.
Negative experience: Front counter people were very welcoming. They sent me back to travel agent people to get the info I wanted. Noone back there wanted to help me. No acknowledgement as I waited several minutes. Then I just spoke up and asked for help. Didn't even bother getting up. I asked several times for the info as I had trouble looking for the Italy 2020 tour pamphlets I wanted. Just look at the wall they said. Yeah, a wall full of different countries and years. Finally I turned back to the 3 people and fought for their attention to ask for help as the one Italy 2020 pamphlet I did find did not break down the tours. Well, I annoyed her apparently. She huffed having to get out of her chair. Apparently I should have known the 2019 pamphlet had the tours broken down so I need that one and the 2020 for the updated pricing. Silly me. I'd hate to book a vacation with someone who is bothered by me calling for help or questions about my vacation I'm spending thousands on. She didn't even give me a chance to ask her to just point out the 2020 Italy tour pamphlets in the companies I was interested in. Now I am a rational person. Maybe they were extremely busy, however, I was the only car in the lot. Maybe they were dealing with phone calls or emails. Maybe there were personal problems going on. I still haven't decided if I'll go back down to get the other pamphlets. Do I really want to take a chance booking here?
Negative experience: Terrible service. Needed battery service. long story short, waited 5 hours, the place that was suppose to do it decided not to take the job yet refused to call aaa to cancel the job, so I had to...waited on hold twice for almost 30 mins just to ultimately be transferred to a voicemail. Finally got sick of it, called someone local, they came out within 10 mins and charged my battery for 35.00. Will never buy aaa again, I will go through Geico emergency car services from now on.
Fantastic experience: I had a bad experience with wrenches towing in dingmAns ferry driver was paranoid and refused my AAA card so to avoid going down to his level I paid. I called north penn and they were very helpful told me to fill out a reimbursement form and send it in my 139.00$ was returned to me promptly I was impressed they are definitely worth the money if you drive and don’t have AAA I feel sorry for you it’s the best money I’ve ever spent on a service! Oh and don’t count on roadside assistance you get with your insurance they had me and my family waiting three hours in Brooklyn at night then finally showed up after tens of calls stick with what I know is the best AAA

Negative experience: Went there today as a minor and ladies weren’t trying to help me. One particular associate had a nasty attitude, she was right in the front once we walked in. She gave me false information on using my permit with picture to have a document notarized.

Negative experience: Typical of AAA, when my family and I needed them in an emergency in Stroudsburg and other locationS, AAA did not deliver. They take your membership, prey on the weak and leave you stranded. There is no advantage of a AAA membership to the educated. Do not be victimized. Tried once never again. Not recommended.

Negative experience: I was completly humilated by North Penn AAA telephone operator when I called for a tow of my disabled auto.. AAA operator made me feel like I was some type of criminal trying to steal from them....I PAID $139 FOR COVERAGE AND WAS TREATED WITH DISRESPECT....I WILL NOT RENEW WITH NORTH PENN AAA !!!!....I think her name was Alice..April 2013
Fantastic experience: I have never had anything but a helpful experience at this location. I have always had every question answered promptly, accurately and with pleasant side conversations. I have been a member of AAA+ for over 25 years and have only used them for an emergency tow one time, and that was about 20 years ago, but do not regret paying for a membership for the entire time. Any time I have a question it is just a quick call or visit to the Stroudsburg office and I have my answer instead of trying to get through to PenDOT. I just bought a truck in NJ and my temp expires today, I should get the new plates in the mail today or tomorrow, a quick call to this office, phone immediately answered and (Julie?) was very polite and had my answer as to how long my grace period for my inspection without even putting me on hold. Even with GPS's and phone navigation programs there is nothing like planning out a road trip using a physical map and a tour guide focused on the area instead of what you can see on a computer screen, I love the fact that I can go in there and walk out with armloads of materials for planning my road trips I take to Canada a few times each year. The other reviewer must have caught them on a bad day, I have had nothing but good experiences from this location.
